Get classes from CLASSPATH?

Hi all!
I unziped ALL .jar files into a directory and set CLASSPATH to it. But everytime I run java/javac, they still get some classes from those jar files. And if I try to remove those .jar files, they cann't run!!!
So, would somebody tell me how to solve this problem?

Have no clue why one should do that ??Because unzipping .jar files when everytime running
java is slow. Doubt it. Not compared to the overall performance of the application.
And opening a file is also slow. So even if it is slower to access a single class from a jar file I bet the 130+ that the Sun JVM uses to start up takes more time.
And I don't want to load other useless
classes into my memory. That isn't how java works.
Java doesn't load all the classes in a jar file. It only loads classes as the are referenced.

  • How to get list of classes in classpath?

    Hi.
I need to get list of classes in CLASSPATH which implements the some interface.
How i can get list of classnames from CLASSPATH ?
    TIA

What you want to do is not that trivial. Its not trivial, but its not really all that hard either.
I this thing quite a bit in JUnit tests (e.g, all SomeInterface implementations are expected to be serializable - lets hunt them out and check we can actually serialize them. Turned out to do that I needed a generic yet fairly intellegent object creator / populator: That was significantly less trivial than the other task).

  • Using Get Data From Aggregation event class in SQL Profiler - SSAS 2012

    Hi,
I'd like to understand better the use of the Get data from aggregation event class in SQL Profiler to monitor a MDX query and which info provide. Fe, does it return the MDX query? Is it possible to use this event class in order to monitor MDX query vs a
    Tabular model?
In the TechNet documentation, this event class is handled briefly.
    Thanks

    Hi pscorca,
This event is raised when the storage engine reads data from an aggregation, it may have a negative impact on performance when turned on. If you need to monitor SSAS instance status, we can also use dynamic management view:

  • Loading a class from specified classpath

    Hello,
I would like to create an instance of a class in a specific directory.
So, I am doing this way :
    System.setProperty("java.class.path", classPath.getAbsolutePath());
    Class object = Class.forName(name);
Object instance = object.newInstance();It works perfectly when running in my IDE (Eclipse).
But when I am running my application through a JAR, I encountered the following error :
    ClassNotfoundException
I don't understand why an exception is thrown whereas I defined correctly my classpath.
    Could you help me ?

When running from an executable jar the normal class path is ignore in favour of thejar and any Class-Path specified in the jar's manifest.
What you want is a URLClassLoader. Bascially:
    URLClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(new URL[]{classPath.toURL()});
Class clazz = cl.loadClass(fullName);(Catch assorted exceptions)
There should not be a class of the given name in the jar, or libraries it references (if there is, that will be loaded in preference).

  • Can't find registered ActiveX class - where's LabVIEW getting this from...?

    Hi All
I'm trying to found out from where LabVIEW is getting this particular class from, since it isn't showing up when I open the Active X class browser, and yet somehow seems to be magically registered - I have some invoke nodes and it works fine. Why doesn't it show up in the class browser - shouldn't everything? Where else can I look for it? It's not a standard LV class, but a third party exe I installed. I know the class name (right clicking invoke, browse...). Ideas??

If you have a typelibrary you should probably use the regtlib.exe program instead. Some useful information might be found in this article. Of course if your library comes with an installer, the installer should have done this.

  • Can't get rid of classes from JServer

During the learning process, I created a World.java in directory hello, and following the examples in the online help, put this class in package hello. I found that if I did a loadjava from within the hello directory, the class is successfully loaded, but as hello.World; i.e., loadjava World.class produced an object hello.World in JServer. This class runs okay, but dropjava can't get rid of this class. I try both dropjava hello.World and dropjava World, and both of them say class not found. But the class is still there.
If I do things the right way (i.e., loadjava hello\World.class from the directory above hello), then dropjava works properly. So finally, the question is: how can I get rid of this class which dropjava says isn't there but actually continues to exist?

I found the answer by browsing. I am supposed to hold the Command key down and drag the item off the sidebar. It worked. I was trying to right click the item and remove it that way which didn't work.

  • Getting a Java class from WSDL file

For instance, I have a class entitled InsightPoint. How do I get this from the WSDL to a java class in order to use it in my web service?
    Cheers,

    Setareh,
Here is an excerpt from the javadoc for ExceptionInInitializer:
Signals that an unexpected exception has occurred in a static initializer
or the initializer for a static variable.
Before running your function in SQL*Plus, do the following:
    set serveroutput on size 1000000
exec DBMS_JAVA.SET_OUTPUT(1000000)Then you may get more information. If you don't then you may find more details in the Oracle log files in the "bdump" destination. The following query will tell you where that is:
    select VALUE
      from V$PARAMETER
where NAME = 'background_dump_dest'Then, if you are still having trouble, post the entire error message and stack trace, as well as your java code.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • ClassNotFound in case of class from jar in lib folder

    Hello,
I get an application that I have to deploy on Weblogic AS. It is big ear with couple of wars inside. Let's say it is bigApp.ear.
It is deployed and state is Active. When go to browser and try to run an application I get an error. In logs I found ClassNotFoundException. The error is related to a class, let's say: com.some.package.Abc - I have this class in a jar file, let's say someFile.jar and it is in a folder WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib where:
    - WLS_FOLDER is my WLS installation folder
    - wl_server - name of my domain where I deploy an application.
I wrote a small application (simple form), let's say simpleApp.war. The application uses the class com.some.package.Abc, but the class is not put into the war (WEB-INF/lib) of my small aplication (I use Maven and dependency to someFile.jar has scope provided, so simpleApp.war does not contain it). The result is that simpleApp works fine and there is no error in logs. It creates an instance of com.some.package.Abc and correctly display toString() of the instance of the class in a browser. So this means that application simpleApp is able to see and use classes that are inside jars in WLS_FOLDER\samples\domains\wl_server\lib folder.
So my guess is that there is something in bigApp.ear but I don't know where to search. I read about class loaders hierarchy in Weblogic and Class Loader Filtering. But I have looked inside every weblogic.xml in bigApp.ear and wars that are inside and there is no filter on "com.some.package" or "com.some" or "com" only different packages.
Is there any other mechanism in Weblogic that could block the visibility of classes from jars from lib folder of domain to the applications that are deployed in that domain??
    Regards

    Hi,
Place that something.jar file under Domain_Home / lib folder and restart the server it will included with in the classpath and your app will able to pick the class without any issue.

    Kal

  • Loading classes from an area in the filesystem.

I need to do a scan for classes on a given area of the filesystem, but I'm not sure how to do this. I also need to be able to find the current jre/lib/ext location on the current system (thats going to be the first area I scan).
The reason for all this is that I want a list of all available JDBC drivers installed (DriverManager.getDrivers() only shows currently LOADED drivers).
    Any idea how I :
1: Scan a dir and get a list of classesnames contained within.
2: Get the location of jre/lib/ext
It's a heavy one, but hopefully someone will be able to help.

System.getProperty("java.ext.dirs")will get you the location of the extension directories. I think java.class.path will get you your classpath, but doSystem.getProperties().list(System.out);to get a complete list of system properties including that.
To get a list of files in a directory, use methods from the File class (you could look it up).

  • Accessing custom classes from JSP

    Hi Guys,
I am having some problems accessing my custom classes from my JSP.
    1) I've created a very simple class, SimpleCountingBean that just has accessors for an int. The class is in the package "SimpleCountingBean". I compiled this class locally on my laptop and uploaded the *.class file to my ISP.
    2) I've checked my classpath and yes, the file "SimpleCountingBean/SimpleCountingBean.class" is located off of one of the directories listed in the classpath.
    3) When I attempt to use this class in my JSP, via the following import statement:
    import "SimpleCountingBean.*"
I get the following compile error
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SimpleCountingBean/SimpleCountingBean
I'm pretty sure that my classpath is properly setup because when I purposely garble the import statement, I get the "package not found" compile error.
Do I need to upload some other files in addition to the class file? Any suggestions would of course be appreciated.
    Sonny.

Trying to get some clearer view.. so don't mind..
So you uploaded all your .jsp files into your account which is:
    home/sonny
and it compiles and work. But custom classes doesn't seems to be working, where did you place your classes?
From my knowledge of tomcat, classes are normally placed in, in this case:
    home/sonny/web-inf/classes
Maybe it differs from windows enviroment to *nix enviroment.. well, I'm just saying out so if its not the case.. don't mind me.

  • Can't get ClassLoader from static method.

I'm trying to get the ClassLoader within a static method getInstance().

Sorry for the confusion. I wrote a couple of more test programs and was able
to confirm that WL behaves exacltly the same as java does. For some reason
my intial tests were messed up...
getClassLoader() executed from a static method always returns null (in WL as
well as in a java standalone program).
In this case ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader() will return a valid class
    loader.
    Thanks for your help.
