Get started with web service API

I have a test installation and I can run the web service calls using the URL https://myserver.com/sgd/admin/apitest/. I can authenticate and start a session and open an application using this apitest fixture.
I can't find any documentation about using the web service API beyond the javadocs. Can someone tell me the default web service endpoint so I can download the wsdl? Are there any examples or tutorials out there for writing a web application that calls the web service APIs?

The documentation was published on the Sun Wikis at http://wikis.sun.com/display/SecureGlobalDesktop/Web+Services+Home+Page This is no longer available.
There are examples under:
sgd/examples/* (user examples)
sgd/admin/* (administration examples)
The basic sequence for a user application is:
- authenticate
- setTCCConfiguration
- startTCC
<do your thing>
- endMultiViewSession
Those calls are all on WebtopSession.
"<do your thing>" might be
- display a webtop (WebtopContent)
- launch an application (EmulatorSession)

  • Getting started with web services

    I am using NetBeans IDE 6.0. I have tried a couple of tutorials but can't seem to get to the point where I can test a web service. I have added the JAX-RPC libraries and added local and remote web services with and without proxy settings but always get the error below when I try to test a web method. Based on responses to other posts with this error message I tried deploying a "hello world" web service with anonymous access on the same server as the client with no luck.

    Hello
    Actually i m also pretty new in Web service ,i have tried to implement web-service on weblogic server 8.1.i have just implement one web-service programm but it is a very simple,i m writting code and exmplaination how to delpoy it.
    (1)create a new project.(web service type)
    (2)create a web-service programm give name like JSK.jws
    public class JSK implements com.bea.jws.WebService
    static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
    * @common:operation
    public void Helloworld()
    System.out.print("Hello Jay Shree Krishna");
    (3)right click on that JSK.jws ,u will may be find one option Generate WSDL file ,click on that option so WSDL file generate automatically.
    (4)Build that application.(option is already on netbeans IDE).
    (5)Than Build EAR.
    (6)Now Delpoy JSK.ear file on server.
    (7)After sucessfully delploye,look in last line on WSDL file,you will find
    url::
    Examples
    *<port name="JSKHttpPost" binding="s0:JSKHttpPost">*
    *<http:address location="http://localhost:7001/First_ws/First/JSK.jws"/>*
    (8)Open a browser and give this Url::*http://localhost:7001/First_ws/First/JSK.jws*
    You may be get output.
    I hope that this programm usefull for you.

  • Need some help getting started with Mobility Services Engine

    Someone has ordered several 3602 access points, a 5508 controller, and a MSE 3310 for one of our remote locations. The access points and controller are in place and are working fine (we use lightweight APs at many other locations), but I'm not sure how to approach the MSE. I've gone through the set up, and it's onsite, on the network, and I've added it to our WCS server. It's got a 2000 user context-aware services license. But I'm not sure where to go from here. It doesn't seem to actually be doing much of anything. Is there some quick start guide as to where to go from this point? The wireless users are mostly mini netbooks and iPads.

    Well, I'm no expert, but I did spend the night...
    Ok.  In the WCS on the Services tab, Mobility Services, your MSE is recognized and reachable with matching SW Versions.
    So, on the home tab, ContextAware tab, you see your MSE and it is showing Zero's  for data in most if not all fields?
    Back to the Services tab, Synchronize Services...  is this empty?
    The MSE can only 'SEE' what you tell it to 'LOOK' at.  That is, buildings and floor areas.  I haven't tried just a building.
    Check the left hand box for all the floor areas of interest.  Scroll to the bottom an slect 'Change MSE Assignment"
    select which (of the many or the one) MSE you wish to have monitor the area.  Check the 'CAS' box and save.
    Up on the upper levt is a Synchronization block..  push the Synchronize button and sit back..
    All MSE data is presented only to the WCS (or Pi).
    Good Luck

  • Getting started with web start

    Hello All,
    I am a newbie to the Java Web Start technology and am trying to do the following:
    We have a desktop application that we are trying to convert to a Web start. The source code of the application consists of some Jar files and some configuration files. In order to convert the application to a web start, we are writing a JNLP file for this application. As part of the JNLP file, we are trying to provide each of the jars using the jar element under the resource tag. But how do we specify the configuration file in the JNLP ?
    Certain classes in the source code look for these configuration files. Currently since the configuration files are not being provided in a proper manner there is an exception that is being thrown.
    Is it enough if we write a JNLP file for converting a desktop to a web start? Or do we need to write java web start specific code as well? And how do we provide configuration files as a resource in JNLP?
    Any suggestions or guidance would be of great help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sampath MS.

    >
    Where are your configuration files located and what type of information is in them?
    I would suggest one of two options:
    1) Have a "default" config file inside your jar file which you load using Class.getResourceAsStream() -- this will have default configuration details. Then, if the user chooses to change the configuration you can write a different config file to their user.home dir which will over-ride the defaults.
    ..>
    >
    The configuration files are placed in the same location as the codebase.>That is extremely non webstart compatible. Sun regards the location of the JWS cache to be no business of applications, so even if you could put it there, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to figure the location to access it.
    The best approach to this type of problem is kid_wonder's approach 1), though besides writing to user.home or the registry, you can also access the [PersistenceService of the JNLP API|http://pscode.org/jws/api.html#ps] to store the changed details.
    >
    The issue is that the location of the files is difficult to change as it will need a modification in the code as well.>You will need to bite the bullet and change this code, to deploy it successfully using webstart.

  • Help Needed with getting Started With Office 365 Development C# Rest API

    We have a O365 Tenant Setup with a Federated Active Directory Setip we want to be able to right code that will connect to our tenant and perform basic CRUD operations against it (ex. Creating mail boxes)
    The problem is we want this to be contained in a CLR trigger In SQL so say if a new user is added to our user table then we would create a new AD account for that user and also create a mailbox.
    But I cannot find and example on how to connect to Office 365 using the REST API (Not the SDK because you can not add the connected service to a class library) and before the required actions that we need to do. All the example I have found are with the
    SDK API and/or require window 8 and that is also not an option.
    Please help I do not know where to start, and I would love to see some examples done in c# and not using the SDK.
    Thanks,
    Andrew Day

    Hi,
    >> Instead of SharePoint URLs I would use the O365 API URL?
    Yes, in my sample code, I was accessing the File resource by using the O365 File API. In your case, you need to acquire the token to access the Mail resource and use O365 Mail API.
    By the way, I think the article
    Understand Office 365 app authentication concepts will help you to understand the authentication process in Office 365 Development.
    >> Why can I not use the SDK API with a class Library?
    Actually, you are able to reference the Office 365 .NET SDK in the class Library. But the class library project type was not supported by Visual Studio Office 365 Development Tool. As a workaround,
    you can reference the SDK manually in your project.
    Since your original question is about “getting started with Office 365 Development C# Rest API”, if you have more questions about the Office 365 SDK, I will suggest you posting a new thread
    to discuss the Office 365 SDK. It will involve more other community members to share their ideas and experience on a specific a question and for others who had a similar question could also find the valuable information quickly.

  • How get data from Web Service with token?

    Can I get data from Web Service made with Java?

    We've now added this ability to Web.Contents. You can say something like
    Web.Contents("http://my.web.service/1", [Headers=[#"The-Token"="0a0138ef2d"]])
    and it will pass a header with the key "The-Token" and the value "0a0138ef2d" as part of the HTTP request. For security reasons, this will only work for anonymous web requests.

  • Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API

    Hey guys,
    Here's a little background:
    I'm currently working on adding an optional "strict" mode to some of the unmarshalling functions in SchemaMarshaller that will throw exceptions when receiving bad data for certain fields, and also improving the date handling while I'm at it (I want null instead of mangled dates when receiving bad data when strict mode is off).
    This is for my benefit at the moment as I'm tired of spending time debugging Flex code when XFire and Oracle are spitting out rubbish (like empty xsd:DateTime nodes, DateTimes in xsd:Date nodes, etc) - but I'm sure other people would like to use it too while we don't have a response validator, so I'd like to do it in a way that I can submit as a feature request (with patch) on Jira.
    My questions are about the procedure for stuff like this- where should this option be made public in the API, and who would I talk to about it? Or would it be best for it to always be strict? - That's how I'd like it :) Perhaps it should just log errors when it encounters bad data?
    This is the first thing I'd like to "add" to the SDK rather than a simple bug-fix, so I just want to do things in a kosher manner. Sorry if I come across like a total noob :)
    Cheers,
    -Josh

  • Web Service API v.3 overview

    Post Author: yura.tkachenko
    CA Forum: Nsite
    There are a lot of calls available in Web Service API v.3, here is list of functions:
    login (create WS API session which is valid 15,30,60 minutes -
    actually depends of company settings). Return back to user generated
    unique sessionId, serverUrl (usually you need pass serverUrl as a new
    endpoint of WebService). But we are recommend do not use serverUrl better use cookie-based approach (on client side you need to tell your soap stack to maintain cookies).
      logoff - finish active session (requires sessionId parameter)queryObject - return EnterpriseObject data (instances). Using that call you can query headers, detail sections, apply pagination for both headers, details. Also you can query such administrative objects: Company (company information - as one user can belong only to one company so at any time you can query only one record), User (list of users settings), Attachment (using that object you can query any attachment assigned with any Enterprise Object). insertObject - add new record to EnterpriseObject, User (only if you are administrator in the company), Attachment (add new attachment)updateObject - edit existing objects: Enterprise Object(headers, details), User (change your profile, edit profile of other users if you are administrator), Company (edit company settings), Attachment (edit attachments).deleteObject - delete : Enterprise Objects or edit Enterprise Objects (deleting row in detail section), Attachment (delete attachments). Nsite doesn't support deleting such entities from system as: User, Company.copyObject - copy exiting Enterprise Object (instance) to another instace with all nested (details, attachments, header fields).describeObject - retrieves full meta description of Enterprise Object (header fields, detail sections, relationships with other EOs). Also this method retrieve description about administrative objects: Company, User, Attachment.describeSystem - retrieves company settings (Company object). You can simulate this call using queryObject operation.getObjectsList - retrieves list of available EnterpriseObjects and administrative objects.getUsersList - retrieves list of company's users.describeUser - retrieves user specific information (User object record). You can simulate this call also using queryObject operation.getCompanyLookups - retrieves available lookups for current company.getLookup - get lookup values and general information about lookup by lookup path. Usually lookup path is assigned to drop-down in Enterprise Object definition. So sometimes very useful to know what values acceptable by EnterpriseObject1 in drop-down1.createLookup - add new lookup to system. This lookup will be available automatically in the Application Designer or others tools.updateLookup - change lookup values etc.uploadAttachment - assign new attachment with "Attachment" component of EO or with "Attach" button (global attachment). This function using DIME attachments - so you need to be sure that your soap stack support this method. You can upload attachments also using insertObject (using Attachment object), but this call work faster for big files.downloadAttachment - download attachment(assigned with "Attachment" component or "Attach" button) using DIME attachments. The same behavior can be reproduce with queryObject call, but this call work faster.describeRouting - get information about any routing in the nSite system. You can get information like: routing status, list of participants, etc.routeEO - start routing mechanism for Enterprise Object.approveEO - approve routing. Current user should be approver.rejectEO - reject routing. Current user should be approver.stopEO - stop routing. Current user should be initiator of routing.We have such limitation of our API:Doesn't support running Business Rules if something was changes in EO instance using calls: insertObject, updateObject, deleteObject.Doesn't support Enterprise Objects which is marked as "version enabled" in Application Designer.Doesn't support forwarding of routings.Doesn't support to modify EnterpriseObject structure (definition).Doesn't support manipulations with Roles Based Access Component.

    Hi, saxotechpm
    saxotechpm:
    Is there support for inserting an object that has lookup relationships to other objects:
    Using the WSAPI I have tried to insert an object that has a lookup relationship to another object for pulling a number of fields.
    The insert works if I set the appropriate object id for the linker eo on the lookup button field, however none of the data fields from the linked eo are drawn into the object.
    I have also tried running an update with the following syntax. The update works on non linked fields  but the linked object data elements are never updated.
    The following NEOQLsyntax is used:
    update eo_60700 set button_select_contact=721238,button_select_account=721237 where Id=731033;
    721238 = an instance of a contact object
    721237 = an instance of an account object
    731033 = the target instance object being updated - the expectation is that this object would get the data elements linked from the two other instances.
    Thanks
    Yes, we do support of linked Enterprise Objects in WSAPI for detail sections and for header fields. But due to some internal issues headers are not  work properly. But now everything is OK. It has been fixed and it will take some time while you will be able to use it on production. But this fix will be delivered in the nearest patch. So in the October you can use this feature already on production.
    Thanks for your request and sorry for any inconveniece.

  • ExtractToXML exception with web services

    Guys
    I´ve got "An unexpected exception was encountered: There is an error in XML document" when execute the "Quick Start: Decoding barcoded form data using the web service API" (http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/sdkHelp/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html /wwhelp.htm). Curiously the "Quick Start: Decoding barcoded form data using the Java API" (http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/sdkHelp/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html /wwhelp.htm) run succesfull. Of course I am using the same LiveCycle instalation and the same pdf.
    The exception is fired into extractToXML method of BarcodedFormsServiceService class. See a some lines of the code:
    //Decode form data
    XML decodedFormData = barcodedFormsClient.decode(inPDFForm,
    true,
    false,
    false,
    false,
    false,
    false,
    false,
    false,
    CharSet.UTF_8);
    //Convert the data to XDP data
    object[] convertedData = barcodedFormsClient.extractToXML(decodedFormData,
    Delimiter.Tab,
    Delimiter.Tab,
    XMLFormat.XDP);
    Thanks

    Hi Lee :
    <br />
    <br />Many thanks for your kindly reply ...
    <br />
    <br />I am not clearly sure how to check if I have specified the encoding mechanism correctly in form design ... I would like to say in a detail way that I used LC designer to design a PDF form embedded a 2D Barcode and filled in data fields in Adobe reader then print it as a paper form including 2D Barcode ... Faxed this paper form to fax server and put the fax image into a watch folder ( I also created a decode process in workbench ) , I can see the decode output data is OK ( <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8?"?>
    and all the UTF-8 Chinese code is OK ) but it will be <?xml version="1.0"?>
    and UTF-8 Chinese code not OK if I used web service API to decode 2D Barcode ...
    <br />As to this problem , I think it should not be the form design problem ... and possibly is the web service API usages mistake ...

  • No result while creating a service consumer with Web Service Wizzard

    Hi,
    I've tried to create a service consumer with Web Service Wizzard in SE80 by using URL/HTTP Destination but nothing happens. After the popup with logondata for the WSDL I get the CRM start screen and nothing has been created in the given package.
    technical details:
    I use a CRM 5.0 system with SP15 (SAPKB70015).
    I created the provider service at a 7.10 system with SP5 (SAPKB71005) via SPROXY, SOAMANAGER and WSPUBLISH and get the WSDL-URL from Service Registry.
    The Service Registry of the 7.10 system serves as central Service Registry.
    Has anybody an idea ?
    Christoph

    Guy,
    Thanks for your reply.
    This problem has been solved. Since I haven't turned on everything that to use transaction SOAMANAGER needs. After complete the switch-on works, the problem never happens again.
    Thanks again.

  • Getting started with an iBook G3?

    Hey,
    I just got an iBook G3 (500mhz, snow, airport, 10gb hd, upgraded ram), to compliment my iMac (G5 rev c) and I'm a little new.
    It was used, I got it via trade.
    Does anyone have some tips for me to get started with it ? I'm wanting to upgrade the HD to at least 20 GB, and to max out the ram. Any hints on that ?
    Also, where can I get a new battery and charger ?
    Also, what else should I know about it ?
    It will mainly be used for writing (novel, fan-fics), surfing the web (wirelessly), and when I'm traveling...
    Oh, it has OSX10.2 installed.

    Hi, Josh. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    How much RAM is installed?
    Does it have the original AirPort card installed? (You may want to install one, if not, to enable wireless access to the internet.)
    Did the original system CD's and the OS X 10.2 software CD's come with it? If not, try to get the person you got it from to give them to you. You will need them if you intend to upgrade the hard drive (and for maintenance, even if you don't upgrade the hard drive).
    Hard drive upgrade services:
    MCE Technologies
    DT & T Computer Services
    A hard drive upgrade is very complicated, and best left to a professional.

    Enough dual USB G3 iBooks suffered from a logic board problem that Apple began the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program in January of 2004. Check out the FAQ page and be aware of how this logic board problem manifests itself.
    It has been suggested that you can minimize the chance of a logic board failure of this sort by never picking it up by the front left corner alone. Pick it up with both hands or in the center under the trackpad.
    It's also a good idea not to close it any more often than you need to in order to minimize the chance of the backlight cable (and other cables and wires) becoming pinched in the hinge or broken. When you have some time, check out the Discussion thread in the Displays Forum entitled 90 degrees and black out!!!!
    Information on using the battery to maximize both life and lifespan can be found here.
    You can download the manual for the iBook (Dual USB) from this page:

    Good luck, and happy iBooking!
