I have a Table on my webdynpro screen.
Now I want to read data of the row on which cursor is placed( Not the lead selection element).
How can we do this?

Actually my problem is I have developed OVS Search Help.
Now I want to assign selected F4 Value to the corresponding field in the table.
Independent of Row on which F4 is presssed, The selected Value get assigned to the Lead Selection Row.
How can I resolve this?

Using java to get table rows (jsp and html)?

I was wondering if there is any way to count rows from a html-table?
I want to know the number of rows created, just after it has been made. So that I can use this number 'for' creating my next table.
Have got this to work by using javascript code:

, but this only generates on the clientside; which is not what I want.
I got a webpage, that uses html and jsp. After the generation of a table - which has an unknown numbers of rows, because of several underlying tests - I'd like to retrive how many rows that was generated before I proceed with my next table.
Is there a good workaround to this problem?

Hey there, and thanks for fast response.
Allready tried that code earlier. Works great on displaying the var 'row'-s inside, for instance, a <input type="text" or as a pup-up on a alert();
The javascript works on the client-side, so I have no way of using that code for further testing in codes for my viewing; at least I can't think of any.
The thing is that:
1) I can't use an 'onClick', since the next table should be generated without any human interference.
2) I used the same code to get the number of rows when I sat the table inside a form. But then, when calling the javascript function, I have no way to retrieve the linenumbers for use to test ON the next table.
Since I'd have to use, say a field name <input type hidden="rows".., a method to call this very "rows" in jsp:

Setting the color (or other properties) of a single table row

Say I have a data model backing a table view, with a field like e.g. "isDisabled". And for every item where this field is true, I want to set the text color of the table row where the item is displayed to grey, or something otherwise suitable.
It doens't seem that it is possible to use the row factory for this. Do I have to set a cell factory for each cell and set the text color of the cell individually?

I spent a few minutes today extending DataFX (http://www.javafxdata.org) to support styling entire TableView rows via CSS. It's now going to take me considerably longer to describe the API I just provided in DataFX :-)
So, to start with, this is just a proof of concept. I look forward to you using it and giving me feedback. What you are going to need to do is create a custom TableView row factory, like so:

Index of the row where the cursor is clicked

   I need to set some values in table control for the fields where i clicked the cursor. Actually i am using the below code but its not working...

For example I placed the cursor in 3 row at the plant column in my table control. So only 3 row plant value has to be set.
Can anybody tell me how to read the index when a cursor is placed at a particular row.

It is zero.
On the first loop and first fetch it will be 1, second 2 etc.
This is because cursors have no rows, or fetch no rows until your code or the client uses the cursor to fetch them.
I mean like in pl/sql table we can directly use the pl/sql table attributeA PL/SQL array is not like a cursor, a PL/SQL array has the rows already fetched into it.
A cursor is not an array but a pointer to a compiled SQL statement so you cannot count how many rows it has, because it has none. You can only count how many rows you fetch from it.

Get only the rows where there are no matches in the tables

To include in the results of a join with no matching rows, you can use a full outer join. In MS SQL Server provides the FULL OUTER JOIN operator, which allows you to include all rows from both tables, regardless of the presence or absence of values.
You can add a WHERE clause in a FULL OUTER JOIN to get only the rows where there are no matches in the tables. The following query returns only those products for which there are no matches in the sales order.

PL/SQL block to create temporary table + load via cursor for loop

Assume I have a table that contains a subset of data that I want to load into a temporary table within a cursor for-loop. Is it possible to have a single statement to create the table and load based on the results of the fetch?
I was thinking something like:

HR table where rank = 'CAPTAIN'

for name in xyz

What I see wrong with this is that the table would be created multiple times which is why this syntax is not acceptable. I'd prefer not to have to define the temporary table then load in two sepearte SQL statements and am hoping a single statement can be used.

What is the goal here?
If you're just going to iterate over the rows that are returned in a cursor, a temporary table is unnecessary and only adds complexity. If you truly need a temporary table, you would declare it exactly once, at install time when you create all your other tables. You'd INSERT data into the temp table and the data would only be visible to the session that inserted it.

Table.rows.find() returns null in a table where the row exists.

I am working in a Project in Visual Studio 2013 where I have to read an Excel report related with a list of business opportunities. Some of the Fields that are involved in it are: Opportunity ID, BU, Account, close date, Account Manager,
Total Value and so on. As soon as I get the conection with the Excel Report, I fill a DataTable and declare the columns [Opportunity ID] and [BU] as my Primary Keys. In that way, an Opportunity value may have one o more rows
with different BU code each of them. In consequence, you can define one row in the table if you specify the [Opportunity ID] and the [BU] values.
My problem starts when I try to get information of those rows that have an specific value of [Opportunity ID]. For that situation I make a "foreach" structure where I check the BU codes that are involved with that Opportunity. So
I use the Find() Method to get the information of the row specified by the Opportunity ID and BU. The first time it goes to find the information it gets the results successfully but in the next cycle changing just the [BU] using the same [Opportunity
ID] value, the find() method returns a "null" and I do not know why because I am sure that the row exists in the table. I have verified the "Unique" property for the [Opportunity ID] and [BU] columns (which are
my primary keys) and they are in false which is OK.

How to get edited row values from ADF table?

JDev 11.
I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:
public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
getSelectedRow();
SaveMaterial(material);
This method should call getSelectedRow which take values from selected table row and save them into object:

RichTable table = this.getMaterialTable();
Iterator selection = table.getSelectedRowKeys().iterator();
while (selection.hasNext())
Object key = selection.next();
table.setRowKey(key);
Object o = table.getRowData();

return null;
Problem is that getSelectedRow method doesnt get new (edited) values, old values are still used.
I have tried to use ActiveButton with same method and it works fine in that case. New values are selected from active row and inserted into object.

Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
It has oldValue and newValue attributes.

How to get multiple rows from database table?

hello !
I need to get multiple rows from a OLEDB database table and display them on a table object.
I did "Wrap in subfrom" on the table, set subform of the table to "flowed", and checked "Repeat row for each data item" of Row1 of the table.
But I can get only one row on the table object.
I need your help.

best practices when deleting multiple rows is to do this on the business service, not the view layer for performance reasons. When you selected the rows to delete and press submit, then in a managed bean you access thetable instance (put a reference to a managed bean from the table "binding" property") and call getSeletedRowKeys. In JDeveloper 11g, ADF Faces returns the RowKeySet as a Set of List, where each list conatins the server side row key (e.g. oracle.jbo.Key) if you use ADF BC. Then you create a List (ArrayList) with this keys in it and call a method exposed on the business service (through a method activity in ADF) and pass the list as an argument. On the server side you then access the View Object that holds the data and find the row to delte by the keys in the list
