  • To get the absolute path of a file in JSP

    Hi,
    I want to include a HTML page in a jsp.The path of the jsp should not be hot coded.So that i can get the path from the jsp file i am running and then concat the correspondinghtml file name to the absolute path of the jsp file i am running.What can i do to get the absolute path of the jsp file.

    I dont know if there is a way to get the path of the current jsp - but you sure can get the path to your web application using the ServletContext's getRealPath() method and then if you have stored the html (say x.html) in a folder (called, say 'static') immediately under your application root,
    String contextPath = application.getRealPath("/"); //path to your application ctxt
    String htmlFilePath = contextPath.append("/static/x.html");ram.

  • Get the context path with jspx

    How can I get the context path using jspx?
    with jsp I get using scriptlet
    <%=request.getContextPath()%>but it didn't validate with xhtml
    thanks

    I'm really unfamiliar with JSP Documents and I don't know if nesting the tags would be valid. Why don't you use EL in that case?
    ${pageContext.request.contextPath} will print out the value you need.
    P.S. In case it just prints out as is without being evaluated, take a look at these:

  • I have a macbook pro, a mini display port to hdmi cable to hook up to my tv (a toshiba 1080p flatscreen).  what do I do to actually get the image on the tv screen?  Do I need another cable for sound?

    I am trying to watch a tv show that I purchased into I-tunes.  I have the cable and it hooks to the TV okay.  The TV shows the regular apple screen that looks like the universe screen - like when it boots up or is doing an upgrade on the OS.  I can't get the image to go from the laptop to the TV.  I tried under displays and it shows the TV as a display but I can't get the image on the TV.......Please help.

    I need to know which MacBook Pro you have.  Only mid-2010  and later MBP's transmit sound through MiniDisplay Port to HDMI.  I have no information about the Mac Pro, so you might want to go to that Forum and ask there.

  • How do i get an image to display????

    this is some code that i have developed to try to get an image to display. i realize that the arrays for images and sources aren't needed but i want to provide room for when i animate things. but i need to get them to display first. what am i doing wrong?
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class animate extends JFrame implements Runnable {
    Thread runner;
    int current;
    Image img[] = new Image[1];
    String[] source = {"thing.gif"};
         public animate() {
              super("animate");
              setSize(210,210);
              setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              JPanel pane = new JPanel();
              pane.setBackground(Color.white);
              show();
              Toolkit kit = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
              for(int i = 0; i < img.length; i++) {
                   img[i] = kit.getImage(source);
         if(runner == null) {
              runner = new Thread(this);
              runner.start();
         public void run() {
              while(true) {
              current = 1;
         public static void main(String Args[]) {
              new animate();
         public void paintComponent(Graphics comp) {
              Graphics2D com = (Graphics2D)comp;
              if(img[current] != null)
                   com.drawImage(img[current],0,0,this);
    com.drawString("hello",0,0);

    Is that the exact code you're trying to run?
    It won't work for several reasons but I'll limit my response to just answering your question. Don't use paintComponent, use paint.

  • New "Photos" is a piece of JUNK!  How do I get my image numbers to display as imported like they used to? Can no longer make Events or view old events as before either.

    How do I get my image numbers to display as imported like they used to? Can no longer make Events or view old events as before either.
    If this is replacing Aperture and previous iPhoto it is USELESS...WAY fewer options for editing available. New "Photos" is a piece of JUNK!

    Hi.
    I have just migrated my library from Aperture to photos. All seems to have gone smoothly, except for one thing. All of my photos are 'untitled', whereas in both Aperture, and previously iPhoto, the filename was used for the title. If I hit CMD+I and get info, the title is still there as the filename, as I use the filename for all titles.
    Is there a way to batch copy all filenames as photo titles, this was done automatically in Aperture and iPhoto, as when photos were imported the filename was used automatically.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

    After i reading bytes ,how do i get the image to display?
    i m lost after tis step:
    Image img=Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage(data1);

    You can create and use a Canvas. (and define the Paint method)
    Canvas c = new Canvas(){
            public void paint(Graphics g){
                g.drawImage(img,0,0,this);
    frame.add(c);

  • I am trying to create a button in flash that will display 4 separate images at the same time when clicked.  I can't get the images to stay on when I take the mouse of the button.  I need the actions script code to make this happen.

    I am trying to create a button in flash that will allow the user to click on the button and 4 separate images show up at the same time.  I can get the images to appear when I click the button but they will not stay on the screen.  I need to know what code I use to make the images stay once the button is clicked, then I need to know exactly where I place that code.  It does not appear to be possible to add the action code to the buttons layer since each time I add a new layer I just get another "up" "over" "down" and "hit" line.
    Thank you in advance

    It is not clear how you are trying to realize this from your description.  If you are trying to create this within a button symbol it will not work.  Explain your approach and if there is code involved, show what you have so far.

  • Display image on jsp page

    I have to display image on jsp page with some text output. This image is already saved at a location parallel to web-inf and is generated dynamically using a servlet. I have used img tag html to display the image. Other outputs are taking their values from database.
    First problem is that image will be taking time to display in comparision of other outouts from database. I have to refresh the page to get imageon my page.
    Second is that if I save image in a folder parallel to web-inf in my project then it will not be displaying the image.
    Can I use any jsp functionality to display image with other outputs from database. I have used "*include*". but it shows only that image and other outputs.

    Best way is to use a servlet for this.
    <img src="path/to/imageservlet?id=someidentifier">
    <!-- or -->
    <img src="path/to/imageservlet/someidentifier">In the servlet's doGet() just write code which gets an InputStream of the image (either directly generated, or just read from the local disk file system, if necessary with help of ServletContext#getRealPath(), or even from the DB by ResultSet#getBinaryStream()) and writes it to the OutputStream of the response. That's basically all. Don't forget to buffer the streams properly to speedup performance and to save memory.
    You can find here a basic example: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html].

  • Problem in displaying image on jsp page

    I want to display an image on jsp page.I copied the image the image in WebContent folder.
    I am able to see the image on the design pane when using the following code:-
    <img src="/image.gif" height="50" width="50"> but when i run it in the browser nothing gets diplsyed.
    also when i use the image container and select the source option that image is not displayed in the WebContents file..plz help.

    Hi,
    Seems that the Problem is there with the way how you specifuied the Image relative Path:
    You have specified the below: The opath of image starts with (/) forward slash:
    *<img src="/image.gif" height="50" width="50">*
    It means to access this Image WebLogic Container will form a Path like this:
    http://localhost:7001/image.gif
    BUT may be the image is available inside your Context root: So Change the <Img> tag like following in your JSP:
    *<img src="image.gif" height="50" width="50">*
    (*NOTE:* Never Start your src path with a Preceesing /)
    Now WLE will consider the path like below ..if your Applications Context root is "TestApp"
    http://localhost:7001/TestApp/image.gif
    I am Assuming that Inside the TestApp Application "image.gif" And "your.jsp" jSP pages are Co-Located (Means available in the Same Directory).
