Getting Data from Maintenance view V001N into ABAP program

Hello Experts,
I have to fetch data from the maintenance view V001N in my ABAP program. I have used select statement in my program but I am getting a syntax error 'V001N is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table, projection view or database view. '. V001N is a Maintenance view.
Can anybody help me out how to get the data from that maintenance view into the internal table of my ABAP program.

That is the most important part. Thank you. But you seem to be unaware of the "search" functionality.
If you can imagine that you are not the first person to ask a certain question, then you can be sure that someone else already has and you can find the answers on your own. If you still have doubts, then ask a specific question providing the details.
Based on your other questions, you are on release 4.0B. Is that still correct?

Hi Krishna,
Crystal Reports/BusinessObjects Enterprise ( BOE ) Business Views can only be created using the BV build which comes with BOE and installed using the Work Station installer for BOE. for both XI and 2008.
You cannot mix these two versions on the same PC not can one talk to the other, the BV designer must match the same version as BOE. XI ( version 11.0 ) is no longer available but if you mean XI R2 ( version 11.5 ) then it still is.
It's not completely clear which Business View you are referring to? BOE has a Business View Designer so not sure if this is just a naming problem or not? If you are referring to the BOE Business View Designer then the above is true. If your reference is about some other BV designer or data source then you need to clarify.

SELECT * FROM t179
JOIN t179t ON

Read data from maintenance view

hi all,
could anyone please tell me if there is any special way to read data from a maintenance view (if at all it is possible).
i wrote a simple select on it but it gave me a syntax error that the view is not defined in the dictionary. (i am able to see the view definition by double clicking and it is active too).
the following is my select.
select single lgnum from v_t320 into (w_lgnum) where werks eq p_i_werks and lgort eq p_i_lgort.

but the documentation on maintenance views says that we can have read access to them. Does that mean the data can only be seen via the DDIC and not from a select written in a program??

Maintenance Status
The maintenance status of a view controls whether data records can also be changed or inserted in the tables contained in the view.
The maintenance status can be defined as follows:
Read only: Data can only be read through the view.
Read, change, delete, insert: Data of the tables contained in the view can be changed, deleted, and inserted through the view.
Only read access is permitted for database views that are defined through several tables. If a database view contains only one single table, data can be inserted in this table through the view (see Inserts Through Database Views).
The following status definitions are also possible for maintenance views:
Read and change: Existing view entries can be changed. However, records cannot be deleted or inserted.
Read and change (time-dependent views): Only entries whose non-time-dependent part of the key is the same as that of existing entries may be inserted.

You mean Data transfer between two components..
To pass the value from one component to other component, you can use used component scenario.
For example let use assume we have two comp ..
Comp A,
Comp B.
now we need to pass the value from Comp A to Comp B.
Then declare the Comp A as used component in Comp B.
Now then you can create a node in the comp A component controller and check the interface check box there then the
node and the attribute will be present in the interface controller also .
and this interface controller context you can access in the component and map it to view there and display it.

Getting Data from C++ STL Vector into Java Vector

Hi All,
I have been involved in a project recently to port a lot of C++ code into Java. Testing the ported Java code has been done in isolation with JUnit and works fine, but we would like to test all the ported code. To do this we aim to call the ported (Java) methods from C++ using JNI.
I have read a lot of the documentation from Sun on the JNI and can access and set Java methods that only contain primitive types without any problems. However what I cant seem to be able to achieve is passing aggregated C++ classes to Java.

None of the Java methods are native, because the eventually the whole system
will be operating solely in Java, but the testing at this stage is quite important.
If this is an impossible task then please say so also, any help will be appreciated !

Thanks for the reply and I understand that running an iterator
over the vector would be the way the get the data out of the C++ Vector.
However that still leaves me with the question of mapping an arbitrary
C++ class ( which in the case of the example above would be a Node class which is
composed of other aggregated classes ) to a jobject such that I can pass
the data easily to Java throught JNI?
Is this possible or would I have to decompose each and every class to its most
primitive types and pass them over to Java and reconstruct them on the Java side?

in your table control you give some name to that table control say it_cntrl.
this only serves as the internal table to process the table control data.
like u can write like this.
loop at it_cntrl into wa_cntrl. "wa_cntrl is work area of type it_cntrl table type
......... "do your functining
end loop.

I want to get data from only RESB table without loss of any deltas

i have to fetch the reservation details for the production orders.
we are using descrete manufacturing method to keep track the Work in process and cost .
for addition of components manually in the production order we can track thru change date i.e From AUFK table with field name AEDAT. for each time when we are adding the components the system will create a new line item In tableRESB-OBJNR(field)
i need very few fields from RESB table to be pulled into SAP BW.
how should i proceed creating a generic exractor without any loss of deltas.
i want to get data from only resb table into sap bw.
how should i proceed with Generice extractor with single table RESB and what would be the delta field . could any one throw some light .

It is not possible to retrieve the data from Maintenance view. Maintenance View is different and Database View is different.
Maintenance view : Maintenance view permits you to maintain the data of an application object together.The data is automatically distributed in the underlying database tables.
A standardized table maintenance transaction is provided (SM30), permitting you to maintain the data from the base tables of a maintenance view together.
In other words, Maintenance views enable a business-oriented approach to looking at data, while at the same time, making it possible to maintain the data involved. Data from several tables can be summarized in a maintenance view and maintained collectively via this view. That is, the data is entered via the view and then distributed to the underlying tables by the system.
Database View: Data about an application object is often distributed on several database tables. A database view provides an application-specific view on such distributed data.A database view is automatically created in the underlying database when it is activated.Database views implement an inner join.If the database view only contains a single table, the maintenance status can be used to determine if data records can also be inserted with the view. If the database view contains more than one table, you can only read the data.
Database views should be created if want to select logically connected data from different tables simultaneously. Selection with a database view is generally faster than access to individual tables. When selecting with views, you should also ensure that there are suitable indexes on the tables contained in the view.

Not able to get data from ce_reconciled _transactions_v in a function after intialising the view

I have written a function to get the gl_date from ce_reconcilied transactions_v . but when i call th function in a select query , it is not returning any data.
I have used the following intialization in the function
Mo_Global.set_policy_context('S',p_org_id);
cep_standard.init_security;
But when i use anonymous block to get gl_date printed it is fetching data from the view.

Try adding the following code so we can verify the org is set in your function:
Add to the definition:
v_org_id number;
Add after setting the policy:
select MO_GLOBAL.get_current_org_id()
into v_org_id from dual;
FND_FILE.PUT_LINE(FND_FILE.LOG,'Current MO Org_id='||v_org_id);
This will verify that the org_id was set.
Are you getting any errors, or simply no data found.

Suppose you are planning to get the data from multiple tables then you got to specify seveal condtions and make use of joins which results in poor performance in fetching the data . In order to improve the performance we make use of views where the conditions of different tables are defined and the data is fetched accordingly.
