Getting Data Types of Eloqua - any REST BULK API?

Is there an api which lists all the data types used for the fields of eloqua entities?
From the examples that list the entity metadata I could see that there are data types like "YESNO", "Date"  and "string" for entiy's fields.
I will need a  list of all data types that eloqua can have for any of  its fields.
I am going to be using the BULK API to import and export eloqua elements through java.

There is currently no endpoint for this.
There are four data types available for contacts and accounts - Date, Large Text, Numeric (float), Text.  Custom objects can these four data types plus a fifth - Number (integer).

  • How to get data with out having any date/timestamp columns by year wise

    hi,
    how can i select years wise rows from tables,if that have not any date/timestamp column.

    Well Govind it quite depends on what is the data type of that column and the format in which it is stored.
    If the data type is varchar2/varchar and all the values are in a uniform format then there is no problem. All you need to use is the to_date function to convert the supplied strings to default date format and then use to_char function to only extract the YY or YYYY or RR or RRRR aspect of the data.
    For example: If the column is called 'hire_date' and it's data type is varchar2 and the entries in this column are all in a uniform format, say month,date,year like January,12,1999. What you need to do is convert this string to a default date value using to_date function, like to_date(hire_date,'format_model') In the format model mention the format of the hire_date string. The out put of this function can be fed into to_char to extract the year, like to_char(output_of_to_date,'YYYY')
    I hope you got what I meant. Let me know if it was of any use.

  • Need a generic data type to hold any string

    Hi,
      I m trying to write a program which can log data from any table into a Trace Z table.
    I have used
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <line>.
    to get the line of that table. But now I want to dynamically know what are the field names of this line structure and the data in it. And then write it as a string to the trace Z table
    form log_table_data tables rt_any_table
                        using rv_statement type string.
      data: v_line type string,
            v_char_line type char255.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <line>.
      loop at rt_table ASSIGNING <LINE>.
        v_char_line = <LINE>.                                 - Terminating at this statement
       ASSIGN <LINE> to v_line casting type string.
      endloop.
    endform.
    Thanks for reading

    Hi,
    if you are interested in generic programming in ABAP then this [presentation|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b332e090-0201-0010-bdbd-b735e96fe0ae] is full of information. There is a class CL_ABAP_STRUCTDESCR with method GET_COMPONENTS. This method returns a list of components of table or structure. So you will be able to loop over every field in the table and convert each field into string.

  • How to get the type of org.omg.CORBA.Any ?

    Hi there
    My q is: how can I get the type of an Any object?
    Please have a look at the following code:
    ORB orb = ORB.init();
    org.omg.CORBA.Any anytest = orb.create_any();
    anytest.insert_string("mystring");
    TypeCode tc = anytest.type();
    Now how can I get back that the type is String??
    Regards
    Brian

    Hi,
    Try using anytest.type().kind().value() -> should yield TCKind._tk_string. See the javadoc for more info.
    I think that the only way to check types is by comparing the codes; as far as I know there is no easy way to get the equivalent Java Class object or so. But I could be wrong on that one.

  • PLEASE HELP!!!  Problem with Java and SQLServer Text data type

    Hi there,
    I have a java app. that reads from an MS SQLServer database. Originally, all long text fields were declared as NVARCHAR(200). The program worked fine.
    Someone then advised that I change all long text fields to the TEXT data type. The program now crashes out with the following Exception:
    "java.sql.SQLException: [JRun][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This ResultSet can not re-read row data for column 25."
    Basically, I have a method that retrieves a resulset and iterates through it. The resultset is passed to another method during each iteration. In the example below, the 'specialNote' field used to be NVARCHAR(200). The code worked fine. Then when it was changed to TEXT, the program no longer works with the above Exception thrown.
    Anyone know any special way SQLServer TEXT data types need to be handled?
    Thanks for any advice!
    The code looks something like this in functionality:
    <CODE>
    public void method1 (Connection conn)
    Resultset rs = conn.createStatement().executeQuery("SELECT * FROM ProductBB");
    while (rs.next())
    method2(rs);
    public void method2 (ResultSet rs)
    String str = rs.getString("specialNote");
    </CODE>

    Hi JWoods,
    Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had the code do what you suggested, ie, get the resultset then retrieve the data all within the same method. The data is then used to set properties in an object.
    When I had to create another method that also retrieved a resultset but using a different primary key, then also use the returned data to set the properties in the same type of object, I didn't want to repeat the setter code. That's why I decided to pass the resultsets to the same method that did the property setting.
    Unfortunately, it stopped working with the data type change.
    Any other thoughts?

    hi all.
    sorry i just want some information in creation of data type which i svery ease to solve.
    and it is i had seen one data type which was creatd by my colleague and its haveing occurance 1..unbounded for some and 1..10 for remaining elements and the other thing is in details she has given MAXLENGHT.
    i just want to know y she has given these things under data type.
    waiting for any great answer.

    Hi,
    All data types are described by XML Schema. All required information about XML Schemas you will get from:
    <a href="http://W3C XML Schema">http://www.w3.org/XML/Schema</a>
    You can create data types either directly in IR using data type editor or import from external definitions.
    Occurence, maxlength are properties of tags, attributes etc. and are defined by XML Schema.

  • Data types in pi 7.1

    Hi,
    when do you use core, free and aggregated data types?
    Thanks in advance
    regards,
    Ramya Shenoy

    This may help you,
    Introduction
    SAP delivers descriptions of Global Data Types (GDTs) as Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) content to customers. Customers can create their own data types in the ES Repository and use SAP GDTs.
    u2022
    Two ways of modeling data types are supported: Classical XSD style and new CCTS (Core Component Technical Specification) style.
    u2022
    Data types are classified as free-style (classical), core (atoms of CCTS modeling), or aggregate (complex CCTS)
    u2022
    Standard fault data types are no longer created automatically for every namespace (only when fault message type is created).
    u2022
    Additional functions in data type editor provide better support for structural changes (e.g., moving subtrees).
    More Information:
    SAP Help Portal: Global Data Types
    According to this, we distinguish between SAP Core Data Type and SAP Global Data Type. The SAP Core Data Type as well as the W3C Type (XSD type) does not have any business semantics. The SAP GDT has business semantics, it actually can be based on either a core or an aggregated DT.
    Free-style data types are directly based on the primitive data types, e.g., xsd:decimal. They do not need any further parameters to define themselves.
    More Information:
    u2022
    SAP Help Portal: Core Data Types and Aggregated Data Types Recommendation
    When to use free, core and aggregated data types
    Core data types are based on CCTS specification. Aggregated data types have business semantics, are based on CDTs, and are the basis for application-specific data types SAP-wide.
    Customers who adhere to the CCTS specification or have business scenarios dealing with SAP backend systems, should try and reuse the existing core and aggregated data types delivered by SAP. However, customers who wish to use their own schema for defining the data types, free-style data type is the preferred approach.
    While transferring the business scenarios from XI 3.0/PI 7.0 to PI 7.1, all the data types in the design objects will be transferred as free-style data types by default.
    While creating new objects in PI 7.1x, it is recommended to reuse the core and aggregated global data types provided by SAP.
    The detailed list of SAP delivered data types is available on SAP Developer Network (SDN) at ES Workplace.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace
    Core data types
    Core data types are based on representation terms which are ISO 15000 5 (ebCCTS) compliant.
    SAP delivers core data types with the same name as representation terms. Applying the standard methodology simplifies the implementation of cross-company processes.
    CDTs are intermediate data types, and are a level above primitive data types like decimal, string, etc. They are defined by representation terms such as Amount, Identifier, etc. They are themselves not yet application-specific and are therefore referred to as context-free.
    While creating core data type based on any given representation term, we get an option to either use a default XSD type or reuse an existing core data types.
    For using the standard XSD types we select Type as u2018XSD Typeu2019
    For reusing already existing core data type we select Type as u2018Data Typeu2019 Prerequisite
    Define a dependency on the SWC SAP Global to reuse any of the standard core data types shipped by SAP.

  • Changing data types of  fields in structures

    Hello,
       Currently we are working for upgrade to ECC 6.0 .
       In some transactions we are using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create material.
      We have some additional fields in MARA and MARC table , which we fill using BAPI_TE_MARA and BAPI_TE_MARC structures.
        In these structures we have different data types for fields earlier in 4.6C
    Now this function module is only working if we change  data types of  fields in these structures only to char type. It is going for dump , if we maintain any other data type.
      Could any body tell me why should we change for char data type ?
    Regards,
      SATYA

    Hi,
    Check enhancement category (Extras --> Enhancement Category) for structures before enhancement. For example, for BAPI_TE_MARA structure, enhancement category is given as character type or numeric type. That means you can add the fields of data type only C and N. No other data types are allowed. If you select as not classified then you can add any data type. This option plays important role while enhancement.

  • Data type determined at run time, how to provide the input type in advance

    Hi all,
    Here I have a requirement:
    on my UI, there is an inputfield which receives user's input. But the data type can't be known at design time.
    But I need to bind a context attribute to the inputfield first at design time, which data type should I use( the inputfield can recevie
    data of any type ) ?
    and how to convert the this data type into different data type( can be any type )?

    Hello Aaron,
    There can be a workaround for your requirement.
    you can assign a char data type to that field since Char can accept all characters, numbers, special symbols.
    But, you need to do validations later on the see if it is a number or all alphabets and accordingly you can assign that field to any data type  by doing little bit of manipulations.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Anand

  • Data type and Data object

    Hi Friends,
            What is the difference between Data type and Data object?
    Best Regards,
    VRV Singh

    hi
    good
    Each ABAP program define its own data types using the statement.
    TYPES dtype TYPE type ...
    and declare its own variables or instance attributes of classes using the statement
    DATA var {TYPE type} ...
    Within the program or a class, you can also define local data types and variables within procedures. Local variables in procedures obscure identically-named variables in the main program or class.
    When creating data types and data objects, there are a number of naming convention that also apply for other local program definitions, such as procedures. These are described in detail in the keyword documentation.
    The Additions TYPE and LIKE
    The additions TYPE type and LIKE dobj are used in various ABAP statements. The additions can have various meanings, depending on the syntax and context.
    ·        Definition of local types in a program
    ·        Declaration of data objects
    ·        Dynamic creation of data objects
    ·        Specification of the type of formal parameters in subroutines
    ·        Specification of the type of formal parameters in methods
    ·        Specification of the type of field symbols
    Constructing New Data Types
    The TYPE addition allows you to construct new data types in the TYPES, DATA; CONSTANTS; and STATICSstatements. In the TYPES statement, these are local data types in the program. In the other statements, they are attributes of new data objects, meaning that the newly defined data types are not free-standing. Rather, they are linked to database objects.This means that you can refer to them using the LIKEaddition, but not using TYPE.
    To construct new data types, the addition TYPE can be used with the following type constructors:
    ·        Construction of reference types
    REF TO type|dobj
    ·        Construction of structured data types
    BEGIN OF struc_type.
    END OF struc_type.
    ·        Construction of table types
    tabkind OF linetype
    These data types only exist during the runtime of the ABAP program.
    Referring to Known Data Types or Data Objects
    Using the additions TYPE or LIKE in the TYPESstatement, local data types in a program can be referred to known data types or data objects. This is mainly the case with user-defined elementary data types. If you declare variables using the additions TYPE type or LIKE dobj with statement DATA, the data type of var is already fully defined before the declaration is made.
    The known types or data that are referred to must be visible at the point where the data type or variable is declared.
    A known data type can be any of the following:
    ·        A predefined ABAP type to which you refer using the TYPE addition
    ·        An existing local data type in the program to which you refer using the TYPE addition
    ·        The data type of a local data object in the program to which you refer using the LIKE addition
    ·        A data type in the ABAP Dictionary to which you refer using the TYPE addition. To ensure compatibility with earlier releases, it is still possible to use the LIKE addition to refer to database tables and flat structures in the ABAP Dictionary. However, you should use the TYPE addition in new programs.
    The LIKE addition takes its technical attributes from a visible data object. As a rule, you can use LIKE to refer to any object that has been declared using DATA or a similar statement, and is visible in the current context.  The data object only has to have been declared. It is irrelevant whether the data object already exists in memory when you make the LIKE reference.
    ·        In principle, the local data objects in the same program are visible. As with local data types, there is a difference between local data objects in procedures and global data objects. Data objects defined in a procedure obscure other objects with the same name that are declared in the global declarations of the program.
    ·        You can also refer to the data objects of other visible ABAP programs. These might be, for example, the visible attributes of global classes in class pools. If a global class cl_lobal has a public instance attribute or static attribute attr, you can refer to it as follows in any ABAP program:
    DATA dref TYPE REF TO cl_global.
    DATA:  f1 LIKE cl_global=>attr,
           f2 LIKE dref->attr.
    You can access the technical properties of an instance attribute using the class name and a reference variable without first having to create an object. The properties of the attributes of a class are not instance-specific and belong to the static properties of the class.
