Getting Database list in MySQL

In the MySQL client one can get a list of databases
available on the MySQLD daemon with the following statement "Show databases;".
I tried to get the same list of available databases from Java. Executing a query "Show databases;" doesn't do the trick.
My DB connection is fine. Other queries work perfectly.
I just want the list of available DB's.
Who can help me?

I tried to get the same list of available databases
from Java. Executing a query "Show databases;" doesn't
do the trick."show databases" will work in MySQL thru the Mark Matthews JDBC driver (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mmmysql/) and probably other drivers. Just make sure that when you setup the SQL statement you leave the trailing semicolon off. I.E. try
show databasesnot
show databases;Col

  • How to get list from mysql

    How do I get a list from my database. I am using mysql and it says that method is not supported.
    The method I use is getResultList.
    Please reply

    Hi,
    I am not able to clearly get ur requirements. Assuming that you have records in mysql database and needs to populate the specific column values in a list box. I am prescribing a sample jsp page.
    <html>
    <head>
    <title> Web Application </title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <form name="frm" method="post" action="loadlist.jsp">
    <select name="lst" id="lst">
    <%@ page language="java" import="java.sql.*"%>
    <%
         Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");
         Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/dbmaintain","root","");
         Statement stm = con.createStatement();
         ResultSet rs = stm.executeQuery("select fname from userdetail");
         while (rs.next())
    %>
         <option value=<%=rs.getString(1)%>> <%=rs.getString(1)%> </option>
    <%
    %>
    </select>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    In above code snippet i had implemented to list the name to the listbox in the page.
    Get back to me if the code doesnot work or else if you have some other requirements.

  • How to get the data from mysql database which is being accessed by a PHP application and process the data locally in adobe air application and finally commit the changes back in to mysql database through the PHP application.

    How to get the data from mysql database which is being accessed by a PHP application and process the data locally in adobe air application and finally commit the changes back in to mysql database through the PHP application.

    If the data is on a remote server (for example, PHP running on a web server, talking to a MySQL server) then you do this in an AIR application the same way you would do it with any Flex application (or ajax application, if you're building your AIR app in HTML/JS).
    That's a broad answer, but in fact there are lots of ways to communicate between Flex and PHP. The most common and best in most cases is to use AMFPHP (http://amfphp.org/) or the new ZEND AMF support in the Zend Framework.
    This page is a good starting point for learning about Flex and PHP communication:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/flex_php.html
    Also, in Flash Builder 4 they've added a lot of remote-data-connection functionality, including a lot that's designed for PHP. Take a look at the Flash Builder 4 public beta for more on that: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder4/

    How can I get a list of database names from environment.
    I had found a method in JE API Docs named Environment.getDatabaseNames(), and i couldn't found the same method in Berkeley DB.
    I use java interface, is it supported?

    Hello,
    I don't know if it would work for you, but have you checked the db_archive utility at:

    Check the -s option.

  • How to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi

    Hi,
    I have a problem, I just started using LabVIEW and in particular the LabVIEW connectivity toolkit and I am lookig fgor suggestion regarding how to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi...
    Thanks in advance,
    Michela

    Hi Michela,
    since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
    Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
    Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
    Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
    Save the new VI
    In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.
    Hope this can help.

    Will you EVER start reading some documentation?
    I guess it's not far that many regulars won't reply to those kind of questions.
    Believe me, reading doesn't hurt (well, at least, most of the times).

  • Database setup with MySQL and PHP question

    Hello all,
    I recently had a problem getting a report to work for a site I was updating.  This site is written in PHP with a MySQL database.  The application is to track customer calls to auto repair stores.  The database has a lot of foreign keys because they wanted to update information in only one spot and have multiple records be updated all at once.  So, I've got all the information from individual calls saved in the call_log table, and have foreign keys to reference information in other tables (for example this table lists what store received the call referencing the store table).  If a store changes locations, they want to have reports automatically update with the new address, connection to conversation number, etc.
    In one of the responses to my question on how to get this report to work, I was told that this could be done without using foreign keys (by Normalizing the database using mapping tables).  I am still a newbie to MySQL, and after looking though a lot of manuals, tutorials, and forum posts, I am more confused now than ever.
    I got the report to work using the foreign keys, but I would like to learn what I should have done with the database (and how to get the information displayed).
    So for example one report would be displaying the following:
               Store                                                      Reason for the Customer Call
                                               breaks             oil change            shocks              tune up         total calls
    5636 - Bloomington                  2                       4                        0                       2                   8
    8875 - Duluth                           1                       6                       4                        8                  19
    with links on the store name to pull up the information on that specific store.  How would I change the database (listed below) to do this without foreign keys?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    call_log             (table that contains the following:)
    call_id
    conv_number
    date
    camp_type         (foreign key to the campaign table so it displays the campaign_id)
    reason               (foreign key to the call_reason table so it displays the reason_id)
    location              (foreign key to the store table so it displays the store_id)
    associate
    call_summary
    trainig_issue      (foreign key to the training_points table so it displays the training_key_id)
    visit_closed
    example            (foreign key to the example_type table so it displays the example_id)
    campaign          (table that contains the following:)
    campaign_id
    campaign_name
    campaign_promotion
    campaign_coupon
    campaign_startdate
    campaign_enddate
    call_reason       (table that contains the following:)
    reason_id
    reason
    store               (table that contains the following:)
    store_id
    store_number
    store_address
    store_city
    store_state
    store_postalcode
    store_name
    store_phone
    store_email
    store_mgr
    training_points  (table that contains the following:)
    training_key_id
    key_issue
    policy
    example_type  (table that contains the following:)
    example_id
    example_name
    example_image
    Thank you very much.

    Frankly, that is way to much of a question to be answered in detail on a forum... There's a lot involved and a lot of general database understanding required. I would highly recommend:

  • How to Get a list of pending deferred tasks

    Hi all
    there is a bunch of unfinished threads here asking how to get a list/report of deferred tasks that are associated with user objects and scheduled for future execution.
    I need this list and I can't find out how to get it anyway.
    I don't care if it's a SJSIM report, a database query or a SJSIM log mining exercise.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    My org has just gone live with SJSIM and I want to report on the number of legacy resource accounts that have had deferred tasks created against them for future disabling/deletion (our consultants added this workflow based on rules with an email warning, a disabling deferred task set for 2 weeks from now and a deleting deferred task for 6 months after that). Hopefully I can say "look, 5,000 legacy accounts are going to be cleaned up!
    Thanks in advance

    You can do it with a custom workflow, something like this:
         <Activity>
            <Action id='0' class='com.waveset.session.WorkflowServices'>
              <Argument name='op' value='queryObjectNames'/>
              <Argument name='type' value='User'/>
              <Argument name='attributes'>
                 <list>
                        <new class='com.waveset.object.AttributeCondition'>
                           <s>deferredTaskDate</s>
                           <s>isPresent</s>
                        </new>
                  </list>
               </Argument>
            <Action id='1' process='Check User'>
              <Iterate for='currentUser' in='queryResult'/>
              <Argument name='accountId' value='$(currentUser)'/>
            </Action>
         </Activity>And:
           <WFProcess name='Check User'>
             <Variable name='accountId' input='true'/>
             <Activity id='0' name='start'>
               <Transition to='Check User'/>
             </Activity>
             <Activity id='1' name='Check User' hidden='true'>
               <Action id='1' name='Get User View' application='com.waveset.session.WorkflowServices'>
                 <Argument name='op' value='getView'/>
                 <Argument name='type' value='User'/>
                 <Argument name='id' value='$(accountId)'/>
                 <Argument name='authorized' value='true'/>
               </Action>
               <Transition to='Got One'>
                   <notnull>
                           <ref>view.accounts[Lighthouse].properties.tasks[Legacy Cleanup].date<ref>
                    </notnull>
                 </Transition>
                 <Transition to='end'/>
              </Activity>
              <Activity id='2 name='Got One'>
                 <ActionResult name='users' type='message' overwrite='false'>
                    <ref>accountId</ref>
                  </ActionResult>
              </Action>
              <Transition to='end'/>
            </Activity>
         </WFProcess>This just gives a rough idea of how it can be done. It might be best to bring your consultants back in to implement this.

  • How to get a List of Users Currently Logged into the portal

    Hi,
    Im trying to get the list of all users logged into the portal to do a web service, but I can't find the way to do this, is there any way to find this info thrugh a java class or some object in the RCU/schema/WCP database?
    Greetings
    Mike

    Try the analytics tables. Before you can use them, you need to setup the analytics server and configure it for your application:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_analytics.htm#BEIDBHHG
    This gives an overview for building reports: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFDGEG
    Login metrics: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_analytics.htm#BABFFHGD
    You can use these queries to get the info you want.

  • Can we call a transaction in background and get the list in report?

    I want to call the standard T-Code MC.9 from a report in background using Call Transaction and get the list in the report.There are some enhancement done to its base program RMCB0300 due to which if I use Submit ... exporting to memory and then import the list from memory, the result doesnt match to the values given by T-Code MC.9.
    The option apparently for me is to use Call Transaction method, but if I use Call transaction method, how do I make the report to be executed in background and then get the resultant list in the report?

    Copy the program in Z and than modify it saving the list on memory on database table.

  • How do I get a list of filenames in a library

    Last night I started importing roughly 31,000 photos and videos into an otherwise empty iTunes library from a remotely mounted Windows share. This is iTunes 9.5.1 on a new MacBook with Mavericks.
    This morning the import seemed to have completed, but iTunes was displaying a warning that 3 files were unreadable and iTunes itself was frozen with a beach ball cursor.  About 10-15 minutes later iTunes crashed.
    Now, when I restart iTunes and select "Photos" with the Info pane open, I see "28,071 photos, 521 videos".  So I'm missing about 2,500 items but I have no idea what's missing.
    To debug this, is there some hidden import log I can search through for errors, and/or some way to get a list of events/filenames that are currently in the itunes library?

    Not really - if you select Photos view in the source opane on the left and turn off show event titles under the view menu you will get all of your photos and they can be sorted several ways (again under the view menu ==> sort photos) - maybe that will help
    As a suggestion I would limit the numbr of photos imported into iPhoto (I assume that you mean iPhoto not iTunes) - it is a consumer level program designed around digital cameras
    And given that it crashed I'm concerned that yout database is not complete and that you will have other issues
    Probably the best route is to start over and import in smaller batches of 500 to a 1000 photos per batch

  • How to get the list of all users

    Hi,
    Is there a way in Grid Control for getting the list of all users on all target databases? I need to count how many Oracle db users in our company.
    Thanks a lot.

    One way to do it might be...
    Assuming you have preferred credentials set up for all of your databases, you could run a 'select username from dba_users or all_users;' against all of your databases through grid control.
    Click on Targets tab, click Databases, then the 'Execute SQL' link at the bottom of the page. Click 'Add' and 'Select All'. Then run it. It's just running the same sql across all of your databases and the output will be at the bottom for all of them.
