Getting of User Mapping

Hi all,
I'd like to ask you for help me with getting of UserMapping in Portal. I am creating WebDynpro application in which I want to retrieve UserMapping data for some Portal users.
I found many solutions through this forum, but I cannot use it because of some Portal-WebDynpro restrictions >> "Portal service could only be used if WebDynpro application and Portal platform run on same machine".
<b>Is any way how to retrieve UserMapping data of Portal users in my WebDynpro instead of using Portal Services?</b>
If it is not possible in WebDynpro, can I do same in JSP for example? I just want to create simple report of all users which have mapped another user and integrate this report into Portal.
Many thanks for help,
Pavel

Hi Cindy,
thank you very much for help. I will try to create Portal WebService and include it into my WebDynpro. It will take some time because it is something new for me, but this way (in WebDynpro) is more useful for us.
Otherwise I found some solution (not in WebDynpro). I've creted Portal Application with one simple Portal Component, in which I'm using Portal Services.
Many thanks,
Pavel

  • DPS 6 remote user mapping question

I have a directory where each user is defined in 2 different subtrees, with a DIT like the one below.
In each subtree, a user has the same RDN. I know it's a bad design but I've no choice ...
The user entries in the 1st subtree have a certificate and people want to use it to authenticate to the upstream LDAPS proxy.
The user entries in the 2nd subtree have no certificate but they've an attribute supposed to contain a "DN value" corresponding to their profile, an entry in a specific ou.
I'd like to use the remote mapping feature of DPS 6 so that it authenticates users with their "org_unit1" DN, and then connect to the directory with the profile defined in each user entry of org_unit2.
It would require to configure DPS6 to "know" that the request to get the user mapping attribute has to be done
against the org_unit2 ou instead of the org_unit1. That is the proxy requests would itselves use a data view with an alternate seach base, while the client requests would use other data views..
Possible ? Any other/better way to achieve this ?
Otherwise, I also think about a data view that would aggregate both user entries in a single one. I don't know if it's possible but even if it is, would the proxy itself (and the clients) be able to use that view to do its search requests ?

Could you elaborate on the authentication method you would like to use once the profile associated with the user has been retrieved ? Do you plan to reuse original user password with the profile dn or do you plan to use proxied authorization? In the latter case, you can perform the ldap operations as the profile identity w/o having to provide any password.

  • JAVA API Personalization iview / User Mapping

I am using the following code snippet to get the
User Mapping from the "Personalization" iview
    IUserMappingData iumd = iums.getMappingData (systemalias, iuser);
Is there a similiar SET method?
    TIA -hs

    hI
When you use umdata.enrich(map), soon after that, use SET property in the Hash Map and finally call umdata.storeLogonData(Map). This map should contain updated credentials.
    Hope this works.

  • How to set/get the values thru Wedbynpro coding for User mapping fields

    Hi All
In system object we have the user mapping fields like District, city, plant,Salesmanager.
now we want to set/get the values of these usermapping fields of system object thru webdynpro coding...
if anybody have sample codes of the same then it would be great help to me
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks
    Trisha Rani

    Hi Kavitha
    Thanks for your reply
My requirement is exactly as follows.
    1) i have created one portal system object in system administration and also i created usermapping fields in the system object from the usermanagement  in system object.
i created the user mapping fields like Plant,SalesManager,District etc.
i also created the system alias name for the same system object
    2)  Now i came to persoanlize link and mapped the system object to the portal user.
while mapping to the system object we need to enter Mapping userId, Password , once we enter these values and we can also enter the values of usermapping fields which we defined while creating the system object ( for example District,Salesmanager,Plant etc)
once we enter all the values and click on save then these usermapping  values to be mapped to the portal user.
    3) Now my requirement is , i  want to control the usermapping field values thru webdynpro coding for setting/getting the values.
I need sample code of the same.
Please let me know if u need more details on the same.
    Thanks

Personalize > User Mapping > System drop down list i am not getting any systems....
How can i solve this problem..
    please help me...
    Best Regards
    Ravi Shankar B

    Hai ravi,
After navigating from User Admin to User Mapping,
In the Search , enter your userId and search it in Users.
Your User Id will be displayed in the Table  With Edit Link.
Now check the drop down List box at the right.
    Your System will be displayed.
Before doing user mapping , Make sure that you have created system properly and gave all Connector and User Management Property Entries and Created System Aliases.
Hope This Helps. Award Points if u find this use ful.

  • SSO to Exchange without user mapping

I have Exchange configured for collabration groupware integration, and it works fine. I can get my calander entries without a problem when I have a user mapping set for the Exchange Transport. I have SSO enabled using the iis_proxy.dll authenticating via Active Directory also without a problem. I can also connect to OWA without any issue. The only thing I don't like is that I need a user mapping for the calander availabity.
Does anyone know of a way to make this more automatic? I don't want the users to need to maintain their own mappings.

We are in the exact same situation. I thought that the SSO22KerbMap ISAPI filter would do just that but the user mapping is required no matter what, unless I'm missing something in my config. The Exchange and Active Directory users are the same so a user mapping should not be required.

  • How to get all users under an organizations?

    Hello everyone.
Just want to know if anyone knows how to get all users under a particular organization.
From the Search User form, I found they may kind of user such attribute conditions:
    MemberObjectGroup
    is in
    XXXX(organization)
But unfortunately, the "is in" is not a valid AttributeConditionOperator, so besides using "recursive" self-written function, anyone knows any possible buit-in trick?

I tried MappedRepository also that is also not working can sombody please help. I am getting null at the target application end for this extra field rest of the two I am able to recieve.
    Regards
    Sid

    Hi Sid,
your template does not work because Repository is no standard parameter. You have to use a custom provider for this parameter. Refer to chapter 6 (Making Parameter Dynamic) of document <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bf8cc890-0201-0010-00b1-8d04e5f4378a">"How to…Use the Application Integrator"</a>.
Basically, you have to write a portal service which provides the parameter at runtime. If I understood you right the parameter Repository has to be set by the user in the user mapping dialog. Thus you can access the value using the IUserMappingService See the SAP Library for an <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/69/3482ee0d70492fa63ffe519f5758f5/frameset.htm">Example</a>.

When i go to <b>" UserMapping "</b> option using the <b>"Personalize "</b> link , i get the following error msg..
"There is a configuration issue which leads to problem when accessing user mapping data for the selected backend system"
Also , if i go thru "User Administration -> User Mapping "
    then it says,
--"There is a configuration issue which leads to problem when accessing user mapping data for the selected backend system  .
Usually reason is user mapping being configured for Strong encryption, but necessary additional files might be missing.Check Security log file for information "--
I am not able to solve this problem..Pls help
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Venkat,
<b>Here the quick and dirty solution</b>:
In your portal go to 'System Administration' -> 'System Configuration' -> 'UM Configuration' -> 'Direct Editing'.
There locate the parameter 'ume.usermapping.unsecure', set it to 'TRUE' and restart your server.
I would rather recommend to install the unlimited strength jurisdiction policy files.
For more info on this, check this thread:
JCE Jurisdiction does not allow Portal to start
    Hope this helps,

  • User mapping from portal to R/3

    Hello everyone,
    Our situation is this :
We made some visual composer iviews (charts and tables) that get data from R/3.
Instead of creating users in R/3, we want to use only one public user who can only call RFC's in R/3. So how is the user mapping implemented in this situation?
Please give me detailed explanation for it or links of documentation.
I will be appreciative and all answers will be rewarded with points.
    Thanks for help.

In addition and from a maintenance perspective you could do a: Portal Group to R/3 UserMapping.
This will then automatically map all Portal Users in the Portal Group to the one R/3 user in the back-end. This saves effort when new users are created on the portal you don't have to map them all.
This method is also proposed by SAP for mapping to MDM for example.
NOTE: When you choose this you cannot trace the user in the back-end because
this back-end user is shared. If this is not a problem for your scenarion then I would say go for it.
    Cheers,

  • Problem in user mapping

    Hi
I have created one user in UME - USER1 and another in backend R3 system - USER2. Then by going to Identity Management and going to USER1, I have gone to User Mapping for System Access tab and i've given below details -
System Selection - Selected the System alias TESTSYSTEM for R3 system
Mapping Data - user credentials for USER2
That is all i did for user mapping. Now, in portal, developed customised codes. And, inside code, I have hard coded USER1 and TESTSYSTEM for doing the connectivity for all the users who are trying to access backend data. Code is as below -
    IUserFactory userFact = UMFactory.getUserFactory();
    IUser myUser = userFact.getUserByLogonID("USER1");
    con = cgservice.getConnection("TESTSYSTEM", cp);
    ix = con.createInteractionEx();
    ixspec = ix.getInteractionSpec();
    Then calling BAPI.
And i have created the system for r3 correctly. But, now i am getting below problem -
exceptioncom.sapportals.connector.connection.ConnectionFailedException: Connection Failed: Nested Exception. Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin. error in closing connection java.lang.NullPointerException
    Please help.
    Thanks - prodyut

  • User mapping when installing JAVA addin for ABAP

    Hi,
I have installd SAP ABAP on a domain.
As the ABAP went fine and successfully gets installed.
When I am installing JAVA addon for ABAP it is throwing an error lke the users are not mapped.
So can any one guide me where actually I should map the SAP users in a domain.
    Prashanth

Your question is very vague, please post the full error.
As this is a java add-in it should user ABAP as datasource so no user mapping should be required.
User mapping is used where java and backend system use different datasources and the naming conventions are different...
Theres not enough information here to give you an objective answer.

    Juan
