Hi All,
In my application i am not able to retrieve the data from database between two dates.
while entering the dates i am entring using :
+ "',to_date('+ fromdate+ "','DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),"
as in database i have kept my fromdate type as "varchar2"
So while selecting data i have written the query as :

Hi Anupama,
'between' wont work because you have taken dates as varchar2.
Just try like this.
Take "Date" type in database and in java take java.sql.Date
java.sql.Date sqlDefaultDate = new java.sql.Date(System.currentTimeMillis());
System.out.println("sqlDate: "+sqlDefaultDate);
// this will be in the format 2008-11-13 , So we can pass sqlDefaultDate variable to backend

I have created two columns
Current MM-YY
Calculated (calculation based on other columns)
Today
Date and Time
Current MM-YY is calculated value with formula as
=TEXT(Today,"mmmm")
But the output shows as December instead of May.
I have tried =TEXT([Datum, von];"mmmm") but no help.
I am trying to populated the column automatically with current month..ex: if its May the field should show May, next month it should show June an so on.
Any kind help is grateful.

hello guys,
i have a problem in my labview programs. how to process data in the past based from data in the present ?
i have a formula self-organizing maps
this formula is looking for D1, D1 is neuron index that will be searched for the smallest value.and the result are D1=2 ,D2=5, D3=17 from calculating with formula .it means the smallest value is 2, "2" from weight [2 2] in file attached.
and then it will be in other formula
it mean [2 2] + 0.5 ( [1 1]-[2 2] ) = [1.5 1.5]
and the weight will be [1.5 2 2 ] in matrix
1.5 3 5
I would appreciate any input/help on solving this

Moving your records from internal table into the database table depends upon various scenarios :-
1. If you use INSERT statement.
INSERT <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
But in this case, you need to make sure that you don't have any duplicate entries in your internal table that violates data entry into database table, else you will get a dump.
INSERT <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table> ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS.
In this case, you are forcefully inserting duplicate records into your database table which may lead to data redundancy in your database table.
2. If you use UPDATE statement.
UPDATE <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
This will update the existing records in your database table from the internal table.
3. If you use MODIFY statement.
MODIFY <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
This statement works both in combination of INSERT & UPDATE statements.
Existing records (in database table) will be eventually updated/modified and new records (not in database table currently) will be successfully inserted into the database table.

There is no simple way. It has to be a math calculation.
There are several ways you can get the dates. First you have to know what day is January 1st and what day is december 31st for a particular year. Second you have to check whether the given year is a leap year or not. Based on the abvove information you should be able to find out what day is a particular date.

Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

Two steps to achieve this:-
Step 1: Add the following code in your view Controller:-

getUniqueName : Gives Login id of Portal user.
getFirstName : Gives First Name of the Portal user.
getLastname : Gives Last Name of the Portal user.
Step 2 : Use "Organize imports" and make sure that you have the following two libraries added in the build path of your project. You can do these by right clicking on your project name ==> Properties ==> Java Build Path ==> Libraries ==> Add External jars.
The external jars are :

I have found some details about the Julian calendar as follows:
The Julian date for 2006: JAN: 01:12:01:59 is 2453737.00138
245 represent the year digits for year 2006
3737 represent the date fir 1 Jan
.00138 represents the time for 12:01:59
Julian date change as per every day 12 noon it increase one digit in it.

I have tried the pure �GregorianCalendar� class from jdk1.4 API and its setGregorianChange method but not getting as per the expected Julian date format. Using the �setGregorianChange()� i have setting the cutover date to Long.MAX_VALUE it means GregorianCalendar now have to act as per the Julian calendar ...so after setting the cutover date it return me changed date using �getGregorianChange()� but that was not the Julian date of the current date...as expected or as per above both scenario. There is one another concept i found to get the Julian day of the year as per the Julian day chart mention on nasa site (http://angler.larc.nasa.gov/armsgp/JulianDayChart.html) and i m getting the moth of the year that is 306 for nov 02 2006 using getTime() method in above code then the out put is right for Julian day. But it was not as per the expected Julian date format. So in conclusion we can only able to retrieve the day of year for the Julian calendar. hope their will be a solution for this problem in java api ....else we allways have to depend upon the third party api that was not accepteble some times.....

What I am trying to do though is this. I have a column with dates in it. I'm trying to get the lowest and highest dates in that column for a report. For instance, "Date range between 7/1/2007 and 9/11/2007".
Any help would be very much appreciated

Let me also pose this. I've been asked to create a two date ranges for this from the same data. This report will need to be updated every two months. Is there a way to specify the spreadsheet to select only rows with a date between X and Y for processing?
Or, more likely, is there a way to access a cell name by reference from another field? Such that I have a "Current From", "Current To", "Historic From", and "Historic To" column. The value of these fields could be references to a row number that has the beginning and ending date, so that it selects all of the rows in between.
So I would have something like SUM(SourceSheet :: SourceTable :: A{CurrentTable :: A2} : SourceSheet :: SourceTable :: A{CurrentTable :: A3}) where CurrentTable A2 and A3 are "2" and "6" for rows A2:A6. Is this even possible? Hopefully I'm overcomplicating it and there's a magical function out there that I've missed.

The Date.gettime() method should measure the number of milliseconds after 01-01-1970 so the number of milliseconds for the current time (10:06am) should be greater than the number of milliseconds for 07:30. A you can see in the above output this is not the case.
Anybody have any idea why this is happening. Am I using the .gettime() method for the correct purpose.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is beacause Calendar use fully defined year as parameter, so Calendar.set(year + 1900, month, date, hrs, min) is (almost) equivalent to new Date(year, month, date, hrs, min)Example: int year = 85; // old way of specifying a year in a Date

There is an API getLastSuccessfulLogonDate() in the class IUserAccount.
But it says
