Getting xsd location from a variable

Hi we run std 2012. In my xml file adapter I don't see an option for mapping the xsd source file to anything but a hardcoded value. Is there a way to get the location from a variable?

By design, there is no expression option for XSD location in the advanced editor of XML Source. It only support hard code the location in this page.
While we can click the Data Flow Task that contains the XML Source component to open the Properties pane, then use expression to control the property like [XML Source].[XMLSchemaDefinition] property in Expressions property.

According to your description, you can't get the member when using the strtomember() function in your MDX. Right?
In Analysis Services, while the member name string provided contains a valid MDX member expression that resolves to a qualified member name, the CONSTRAINED flag requires qualified or unqualified member names in the member name string. Please check if the
variable is a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX)–formatted string.

Get GPS location from the command line

Is there a utility to get the current GPS location from the command line? A quick search says `geo` will do it, but that appears to come with the android dev tools, which I'd rather not install right now. The reason I want to do this is to avoid hard-coding my coordinates in a call to `redshift`.

You have to start gpsd from systemctl. And you can plug/unplug gps devices at will, so it can be enabled in systemctl whether or not an actual gps is always available.

i have an application which successfully runs on Motorola L6 and it gives me the cell-id, Location area code, and Mobile Network Code, and Mobile Country Code. Now I want to know how can I get the location ( I mean the name of the location) through location area code. And one more thing can we get current MNC and current MCC through j2me because I have written a code for getting this information for sony ericsson cells but dont have a handset to try out. How to Get Value from a Variable to restrict a Key Figure ?

I am trying to make a query in Query designer, we are running BI7.
I have a user entry veriable on the Fiscal year period, the user will need to enter a period they want the report for, i.e. 07.2008 for July 2008 report and 04.2008 for April 2008 report.
Based on what the user entered as the starting period (in the variable entry), I have to then use that initial value and show the Year to date value (of sales etc) in the next column.
To Clarify, if user entered 07.2008 then all the data from 01.2008 to 07.2008 needs to be in the next column.   if user entered 04.2008 then all the data from 01.2008 to 04.2008 should be in the next column.
So to summarise according to my understanding, I want to get the value from a variable and pass it onto another variable to restrict a key firgure (sales amount)...
Can someone please clarify what i need to do here?

1. Create a new varialbe , this variable should be processed by customer exit.
2. In the column section, create a new column and drag the sales key figure, also drag fiscal year period and restrict with the new variable.
3. In the cmod tcode write a customer exit code to extract the value of the user entry and assign it your variable, you can refer to the below code.

what I'm trying to do is when I click on one of them buttons then fetch where that buttons is (in the GridBagLayout, not absolute) and be able to add a new button to the side or under the clicked button..
the System.out.println(layout.getLayoutOrigin()); does seem to give me x=0 and y=0 but that's the same with all buttons so it isn't good enough

I cannot, however, figure out how to get point data out of the host variable spgeom. If I prepare code analagous to the other types in the geometry structure, I get an error. I can see that sdo_point is different because it is a struct within the geometry definiton of typedef OCIRef but my knowledge of C is sufficeintly weak that I cannot figure out how to get sdo_point into C host variables. Some sample code for getting the sdo_point data would be greatly appeciated.

To get point data from geometry column use following

Creating Variable with Replacement Path to get value from ANOTHER Variable

Hi all,
    Is anyone has created the Variable with Replacement Path to get the value from another User Entry Variable, PLEASE ?
First created the User Entry Variable (ZV_X) and it accepts the date range like '01/01/2009 - 01/31/2009'. Next created the Characteristic variable (ZV_Y) of Replacement Path for which source variable will be ZV_X and we should get the 'FROM Date' (01/01/2009) from the selection (ZV_X) into it (ZV_Y).
While creating the Characteristic variable (ZV_Y) of Replacement Path, I didn't find my newly created ZV_X variable in the list of available variables under 'Variable' header in 'Replacement Path' tab and it is causing the error 'Source to replace variable ZV_Y is not defined'. How could I create the Characteristic variable of Replacement Path for my requirement, PLEASE ?

Text and formula variables with the processing type Replacement Path can be replaced with a corresponding characteristic value. In the variable editor, on the General tab page, you specify under Reference Characteristic the characteristic that is to be referenced by the replacement. On the Replacement Path tab page, you can choose whether the variable is replaced with the From or the To Value and with the Key or the Name of the characteristic value. You can also specify the Offset Start and Offset Length for the output.
Replace with Variable
Characteristic value variables, hierarchy variables, text variables, and formula variables with the Replacement Path processing type can take their values from a different variable.
The following prerequisites need to be fulfilled:
Variable
●      The variable must not be input-ready
●      The variable must represent a single value
Source Variable
●      The source variable must not be a hierarchy node variable
●      The source variable must be input-ready
●      The source variable must be available in the query
●      The source variable must represent a single value or an interval
In the variable editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, you specify the source variable from which the value is to be determined. The value is either determined from the key, the external attribute of the key, the description, or the attribute value. You can specify an Offset Start and an Offset Length for the output here. The variable is replaced on the variable screen upon each data release.

Hi Eve,
It is possible to connect the 2 queries using a Replacement Path characteristic variable. You would need to create the variable on the char whose values you want to pass from Q1 to Q2. The variable will be of type replacement path and you will need to enter the name of Q1 from which it will get the values. Make sure that you include this char in the query definition of Q1 and Q2. In Q2 you will restrict the characteristic using this variable. DO not use this variable (replacement path) in Q1.
In your query properties check if you have turned on the checkmark for Release for OLE DB for OLAP (3rd tab). If the check mark is there, then remove it.
We are using the scenario in a couple of places, and it works very well.

A. Safwat,
As I said before, I was not trying to be offensive, but simply to explain some of the shortcomings of one solution over another. One of the reasons people give such short answers is that many questions (including this one) have been asked and answered many many many times before on the forum. As to my reasons:
1). Overkill - overkill because you are writing code to do what the framework already provides for you.
2). Not bind-variable friendly - you are gluing in literals into a SQL statement. That means that Oracle will have to hard parse the query for each new value of the filter clause, yielding to poor performance, particularly in a multiuser environment. It should ideally be done using bind variables.
3). Insecure (think about what happens if you put "'xyz' or 1=1" into the filterValue there) - not using bind variables is a security hole. Think through what happens if a filter criteria comes through like the one I mentioned.
4). Inflexible - because you are overriding executeQueryForCollection, this VO becomes inflexible and can only be used in this particular place. Using the declarative approach outlined by Timo is more flexible
5). Bad (ok, that's my opinion there) - OK, perhaps this was a bit offensive ;)
Please don't take a critique of a post as offensive, as I assure you it was not intended to be in that spirit. As I mentioned, I greatly appreciate when people point out issues/problems/etc with my ideas, as that is the best way for me to learn. I have in the past written applications that were not bind-variable friendly, and I learned the downsides the hard way (system was horribly non-performant) - I wish someone had reviewed my approach and told me "bad idea" before the application made it into production.

Variable type Hierarchy, how to get the value from another similar variable

We have created a variable, type hierarchy (using ORGEH hierarchy in HR based on 0ORGUNIT). Let's call this VAR1. We want to fill this with an User Exit, beacuse we want VAR1 to have the value from another variable, VAR2, which is also type hierarchy (and based on the same characteristic).
However, when we program this user exit and use the VAR1 afterwards, it just behaves as if we have a single characteristic value and not a node value. As a result, we just get posts which do have the 'parent itself' as characteristic value, and none of the subnodes... Any hints as to what we can do in our User exit to get the value passed over from VAR2 to VAR1 as a node value? Is there any spesific syntax to be used here that we are missing? ( The VAR1 and VAR2 are both defined as hierarchy variables, we have double checked...).
