Hey, I also got somewhat same-  its a golden star icon on top of my homescreen just besides the icons for message, FB etc. I shut down the device and rebooted but its still there and I dont have any clue what that icon is for....pls help me...
Hi gomji,
It's an invitation to download, I think that's a Ram Optimizer. Try open your App World and exit or try to look at your Messages. Find that Ram Optimizer, open it and exit. The yellow/gold star should be disappear.
Good luck!

  • Howto remove apple icons from home screen

    Hello!
How do i remove all icons from home screen (include apples default icons), and just show the application icon for the program that should be used in our warehouse?

The icons of the homescreen reflect the top line of those located on your main menu.
So, you will need a different theme that has the features you desire.

  • Get rid of intrusive HUGE and UGLY dark bands behind HUGE icons on Home Screen

How do I get rid of the intrusive, huge and ugly dark bands behind the huge icons, and reduce the size of the icons on the Home Screen?
On my 8320 I can use pictures of my kids for wallpaper. On the 8900 they have wasted half of the beautiful screen with these huge ugly icons and dark bands - cuts right through two of my kids eyes and two of my kids mouths and below.
What were they thinking? They advertise the 8900 (and the 8520) by emphasizing a full screen picture - but when you actulally buy the phones, they have inserted these cursed screenscape hogs. Any firmware fixes yet? Or, now that Nokia has released their E71 that not only handles email as well as my BB, but also allows me to create and edit docx, should I abandon the 8900 as a lost cause and buy the E71? And, as long as we are discussing RIM's myopic short sightedness, why no 3G on this device?
Please hurry, my buyers remorse clock is ticking and I need to send this thing back to the carrier if it can't be fixed.
    Thanks in advance.

Hello, to change the size (I have six icons per row not five) go to options>advanced options>accessability and change the amount on the grid. Default 6x6, then 4x4 3x3 etc., you can also change the colours. Hope I`m not barking up the wrong tree but have bbn of help! Regards Kew

  • TS3274 My Ipad display screen is coming up with blue background and pink/purple lines all across the screen. It's also blurry and difficult to see icons on home screen and when apps are opened up. Has anyone had a similar problem?

The display screen on my Ipad is coming up all blurred with blue background mixed with pink and purple lines. It's difficult to see icons but apps are still accessible. Colors are off and images are very unclear on apps and home screen.
Has anyone had this problem or any advice on troubleshooting?
    Thanks.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
But it could also be a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • I want a contact icon on home screen

Just got my first iPhone, model 5.  Would like to have a Contacts icon displayed on the home screen so I can get there with one touch.  I realize I can get to contacts through the phone icon but would prefer to have a straight shot to Contacts. Thanks!

You can also try going to the search screen and typing in contacts. If it is in a folder, it will display the name of the folder on the right side, as in this example. The folder name is circled in red.

  • The applications icons on home screen are smaller now

Please help after updating.. the home screen icons .. I mean all applications are smaller now than before ,, I have Q10 so please I need help in making them bigger

    Hi boydds,
It sounds to me like you restored from an iCloud backup and now the applications are waiting to download. There was a great discussion on apps that are waiting to download that I’m sure will help you out too. It also includes links for resetting and restoring if necessary.
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

  • Icons on home screen re-arranged all by themselves...how?

I have iOS 7.0.4 and I have been having some weird things (at least to me) happen with my iPhone 5. Couple questions: how did my icons on the home screen page get all jumbled around seems all by themselves (happened twice today)I have taken screen shots so I can compare the differences and nope I'm not going crazy..lol
Also wondering if someone has their blue tooth on and or Airdrop on can they transfer photos, files, passcodes, install spyware on a ph that has blue tooth and airdrop off??
Thank you for your help I wish I knew more how these things work :)

You may just need to reset your phone: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
No, you can't get anything "installed" over AirDrop. If your AirDrop & Bluetooth are off, no one has access to anything in your phone. Even when it's on, it asks for permission before any transfers and it's limited to file transfer only; they can't look at anything on your device.

  • 1.1.3 Google Mobile icon for home screen

It seems Google was ahead of the curve on this one. If you add Google Mobile to your home screen it gives you a nice crisp little Google icon. With any other site you just get a section of the page as your icon (zooming in on a logo helps). As soon as I noticed this I decided to add Apple to my home screen. Guess what, no custom icon. What gives? You'd think Apple would be the first kid on the block with a custom icon.

As for why Apple didn't (just my guess). Apple made the web clip icon show what you zoomed in on for that page. Now when they explained web clips, the mentioned a person may want a icon for the Style section of a newspaper site. Now if I created a web clip and zoomed in on the Style title, I would get a nice icon with "Style" showing. Then lets say I wanted a icon for the Sports page. I repeat but zoom in on Sports. Now I have two icons (same site) but icons look different based on my needs and what I want to see. So in short, gives the user control. Now for sites that are going to override the icon, they can if they wish but that will take away from the users customization of thier phone but will give good branding of the site.
So each has it's place. For Apple, since they made it to allow customization for the user it makes more sense (IMHO) for them to leave it up to the user rather than force an icon on them.

  • Editing icons on home screen

(Apologies if this is in the wrong place - I'm not sure which forum is the best place for this question.)
To move or delete the icons on the home page, I thought that you had to hold down the home screen button (the only button on the face of the phone) for a few seconds, which would make all the icons get wiggly, and then either click on the tiny X to delete the icon or drag them around the page. I swear I've done it before. But as of yesterday, it doesn't work. I hold down the button and nothing happens. Any suggestions?

To edit the icons on the home screen, tap and hold on one of the icons until they start jiggling around.
to delete an icon you added to the home screen, tap the x in the corner.
Once you are done editing the icons, press the home button.
    Hope this helps.

  • Folder for icons on home screen?

Is there a way to create a folder on the Home Screen? I'm interested in having all my games in one folder so I can open it and select the one I want. I'd prefer to group like items into folders, but can not figure out how to do this.
I have created multiple screens and have grouped the app icons together, but I'd like to go one step further and put into folder(s) if possible.
    Thanks.

Sadly, no. But there is this cool type of separation for your apps, the links below:

  • How do I bring up my iCloud icon on home screen?

hype can I bring icon for iCloud to my home screen?

There isn't an iCloud icon, other than the one in Settings.  That's because iCloud isn't an app, it's a service.  It syncs data using the other apps on your iPad (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.).  There is an app for Find My iPhone if that's what you mean.

  • Disappearing Icons from Home Screen

Has anyone else experienced their icons disappearing from their home screen? Then reappear randomly by either pressing the back key or home key.... It's really weird, but it consistently happens with my Handcent SMS app. Anyone else experience that?

Cs72313, thank you for your inquiry. That is very strange. I have a Nexus also and have not noticed any of my applications disappearing from the home screen. If this is only happening with Handcent, try uninstalling the application and re-installing. Also check the reviews to see if other Nexus users are reporting this issue for Handcent and alert the developer.

  • How do I delete icons in Home Screen?

    Hey guys,
My sister used my curve and when I got it back, I saw that there was a Myspace icon for the Myspace app on my home screen.  The app isn't downloaded yet, but I can't seem to delete the icon from my screen (I don't want it there).  For now I just have it hidden.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Go to options, advanced options, applications.
Let the table build and then check to see if you have an application for Myspace.
If you do highlight  the entry and menu key, delete.
Do a battery pull and this will delete the icon.
Some apps are pre set by your carrier. On my Curve I have facebook, part of the
Verizon setup. I can delete it, but whenever I get service books it is pushed to the
phone by the carrier and the icon returns. I have created a folder for these apps and
all others I do not use. By keeping the useless apps in a folder I reduce clutter and
    do not accidentally activate them.
    Thanks,
    Bifocals

  • Different icons on home screen for each email account?

    Good Morning,
I have searched and searched to no avail for an answer to this (simple) question:
Is there any way to have separate mail icons on your home screen for each of your mail accounts?
I have my work/exchange email (knee-jerk response required) and my spam-laden personal account set up on my phone. Everytime my phone "dings" I have to go digging for which account it is. It would be very nice to see right on the home screen which account had mail rather than having them grouped into one cumulative icon.
Note to developers: I'd be willing to pay for this.
    Thanks,
    Dominic

No such option is available, but a good suggestion for Apple where this must likely originate from.

  • Delete icons from home screen?

I've added a couple of safari pages to the home screen. How do I get rid of the home screen icons when I don't want them any more? Thanks,
    John F

You can only delete icons that you have added yourself, the Apple Apps are not removable.
To delete icon touch and hold your finger on any icon until all the icons start to wiggle on the screen.
The icons that can be deleted will have an X in the corner, touch the X to delete the icon.
You can also rearrange the icons by dragging them around while they are wiggling.
Once you are finished press the home button the lock them in position.
