Good Hosting for JSF app

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a stable and easy upgradeable hosting provider who offers Dedicated Solaris servers that I can upgrade to if the net hits the fan. I don't have experience with Solaris hosting, but I would love to get me some if you know what I mean.
Thanks in advance.

Just look for JSP/Servlet hosting.
Here is an overview of all JSP/Servlet hosters: http://www.google.com/search?q=jsp+servlet+hosting

The MBA is so small and thin many people can't help thinking it is like a Windows netbook - an underpowered toy. It isn't. There's nothing I do on my top end iMac that I can't - and don't - do on my MBA. Of course the iMac has a faster processor, bus speed, and a discrete video card so it is much faster than my MBA. Then again, my computers spend more time waiting for me to do something than I wait for them - and this includes using Photoshop and compiling code.
If I were writing large programs - something like Word for example - I'd want a very fast processor to speed up the compile/debug/compile cycle. But for iOS development your codebase will be much smaller. Frankly I can't see that much difference between a 13" MBA and a 13" MBP for development purposes. Now a top of the line 15" MBP is a different matter with its much faster CPU and separate video card.

  • A good replacement for music app

    Hello there,
I got fed up using music app on ipad, the way they removed usefull stuff (like deleting full albums) remains a mystery for me. So like the title says, I'm looking for a good replacement for it, even ready to pay a few bucks. Any idea?
    thx in advance!

  • XML as DataSource for JSF app

I am using xml files as the data for a JSF app. I know how to use dataproviders attached to databases in order to display and update data to and from the jsf page. Is there a simple way to do this with XML as the data source?

Let me just add I would like to be able to do CRUD on the xml

  • Good site for game app reviews???

Has anyone found a good site for app reviews of games/entertainment titles in particular?
I am interested in getting a racing game - either Real Racing or Need for Speed - and curious which one is considered better.
    Thanks, Steve

I've been using TouchArcade for a few years now to find games for my iPod Touch and they've started reviewing iPad games too. They're great!

  • Is mac mini 2010 good enough for iphone app development?

I'm planning to get a Mac Mini 2010, with 4GB of ram instead of the default basic 2GB. I'm getting it to do iphone app development. Is this computer going to be sufficient? Are there any caveats I should be aware of?
    Thanks!

    Hi
I got exactly that setup for exactly that purpose... even the 4GB upgrade Even without the ram upgrade it should still be fine for iPhone app development. I've not run into any problems with mine.
I got my ram upgrade because I want to run Windows inside MacOS using virtualization software - that kinda thing requires lots of ram.
You might want to wait two days though before you buy. Apple has an event on Wednesday (October 20th) and it looks like there will be a lot of focus on Mac, possibly some hardware upgrades and a new version of MacOS.

  • Web hosting for JSF

I'd like to use JSC to build and deploy a small web app, but no web hosting companies that I've contacted support JavaServer Faces and JSF Components. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced web host ($15-20 USD per month) that supports this new technology?
    thanks in advance,
    geof

We will later on, but I think all you need is Tomcat
hosting. Should be able to deploy the jsf libs with
    the app.
We have a dedicated server setup for a customer for a
project we are bulding in jsc.
    JonathanDid this ever come about?
    Thanks.

  • Good WM/DE for kde apps?

That is not KDE of course, It just became impossible to run in my machine, but I still like some apps that depend on some kde staff, like k3b and digikam, what would be a good host for kde applications? I would like to exclude also gnome, to much fat to have both in one in this old system. thanks for any comment.

Just use any one. The real integration is your qt/gtk theme. If you set the same qt look as the same as the gtk look, the apps will integrate. Tada!
I don't use any qt apps though, so you can always find some lightweight alternatives, like xfburn for cd/dvd burning and shotwell/fspot for photos.
I have inadvertantly found a way to have KDE apps decorated by GTK in Gnome.
I installed Arch to look at KDE 4.5, it ran decently, but I had some minor problems in the plasma-desktop that were annoying me, and so decided to check out gnome in Arch. Gnome works fine, but I noticed that Amarok, my prefered music player, was looking strange, and then I noticed it was actually using my current GTK theme. It looked fine just not what I was used to. ALso the fonts looked a little different than regular GTK apps probably because hinting was being applied twice. I can change my GTK theme and all the KDE apps change to it.
I couldn't really figure out what was going on, because I didn't think there was a way to do this except change the Qt theme to be close to GTK theme, and I hadn't installed anything for integration and my theme was the default oxygen.
Anyways the only thing that might account for it, is that when I checked my dmesg, gnome-appearance segfaults with an error in LibQtGui.so, it keeps on working and causes no other problems. I'm not sure this is the cause, but it's the only thing I can think of as an explanation. So far there are no functional problems or performance problems, and I run several kde apps, so it makes me wonder why this can't be done normally?

  • US Hosting for dynamic portfolio

I'm wondering about a good host for dynamic content.
I've used Hostway for simple sites but have not used them for
    dynamic
    stuff. Any opinions?
    I'm staying away from Go-Daddy.
Anyone have a list of their top 5?
I'm probably going to use PHP as I am trying to move away
    from ASP but
If the company has both ASP and PHP, that might be something
    I'd consider.
VPS is probably a good option as long as the pool isn't too
    big.
This is all for my brother who recently lost his job in 3D
    Architectural/Environmental Rendering.
He has some work posted on Coroflot - See below.

Oh, and if you have any ideas for work, he's willing to move
    almost
    anywhere.

    My favorite is.

  • What is a quick alternative to launching an enterprise DPS app if Apple Store rejects the App? We are under a major deadline and can't wait for Apple. We want to host the app elsewhere. How do we host our DPS app on our client's website?

What is a quick alternative to launching an enterprise DPS app if Apple Store rejects the App? We are under a major deadline and can't wait for Apple to approve. We want to host the app elsewhere. How do we host our DPS app on our client's website? Thanks.

Unless I misunderstand the question, you can't do what you're asking to do. Apple doesn't allow you to bypass their store and host public apps on a website. The exception is an enterprise app, which requires an Enterprise account with both Apple and Adobe. This type of enterprise app can be distributed only within the company. If that's what you want to do, you can learn more here:
Digital Publishing Suite Help | Creating viewer apps for private distribution
Distributing enterprise iOS viewer applications with Digital Publishing Suite | Adobe Developer Connection
Another option is to add the development app to several devices and use those for your demo.

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

  • CMS for JSF Web App

    Hello Experts,
I am new to Java Web Development, just moving from PHP, HTML, CSS and JS.
Normally, when I build web apps.. I create a simple CMS using PHP and MySQL for the website. So am wondering if there is a CMS for JSF Web Apps.
I am new, so am open to suggestions and advise.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shina

    There is Flexive. http://www.flexive.org/
But like Java itself, it is aimed more at enterprise solutions and thus is far more complex than your average PHP CMS "solution".
