GOOGLE APPS Sync NOKIA E72 and E52

Google Apps Sync(with Mail For Exchange) is not working anymore. Is it Nokias, Googles or Microsofts fault?

@bbao
Exchange works fine if you've sync it for the first time before  30 Jan. 2013
I found something new on the web.
Here are some infos from Google

  • Gmail and Google Apps sync with E72 - problem upda...

    Hi
On my E72 I have set up two mailaccounts: My private Gmail account and my workmail which is a google apps account. Both work great and I have no problem recieving or sending mails.
My problem is that the inboxes on my phone do not update: When I recieve a new mail in either mailbox and read this mail on my computer, the same email is still unread on my phone.
Why is this, and how do I make my phone update properly?
    Thanks!
    - Jesper

I forgot to write that if I read an email on my phone it actually eventually shows as read on my computer, which makes this even more puzzling...!

  • Google apps sync with Pre2 failed

    Hi
I was using google apps sync with my old Pre (1.4.5) and it worked fine.
Configuration is same as iphone. Just select Exchange EAS and use the manuel exchange settings to m.google.com
this synced all mails, calendar, contacts similar to an Microsoft exchange server.
However, I can't get it running on the Pre 2. It conncets but but no mails or calendar entries appear.
Any idea? Is this not supported anymore with WebOS 2. This would be a very big step back.
    Best Regards
    Joerg
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102ueu (Unlocked EU)

Hi, thanks for the info, do you know the name of this option?
BTW: It's a google apps company account and Pop and IMAP is disabled, so for webos1.4.5 the exchange option is working pretty nice. Would be great if I can enable this in webos2.0, then the sync limitations mentioned in other forum threads won't be there.

  • Twitter App for Nokia E72 ?

    Hello,
Is there a Twitter App for Nokia E72 ? If not does Ovi has any supportable App ? Any inputs will help.
    Thanks

Gravity is by far the best I've had the opportunity to use. It's not free, but it's well worth the small amount of money it costs:
    http://mobileways.de/products/gravity/gravity/
Alternatively, I have no problem recommending TweetS60. There's a free version and also a premium version, TweetS60-Pro. Both are available here:

  • Outlook 2013 with Office 365 and Google Apps Sync.

This is the scenario, hopefully somebody can give me some insight on how to resolve this.
Outlook 2013 with gapps. Both updated.
Outlook profile with an office 365 email account (which is as an exchange account) and google apps with our main account.
We installed an office 365 account since its the only way that several users can share and edit the same contacts on Outlook. They use almost all contact fields.
Gapps its the main email address and calendar. Shared calendars are deeply used too.
The problem is that when I edit a contact (the exchange account) I get an error -when- I edit the email field.
"The operation failed. The messaging interfaces returned an unknown error."
If I make a new Outlook profile with the exchange account and the gapps account via imap setup I get not errors BUT I loose calendars sync.
So I went back to the main profile and thought. <maybe both contacts engines are screwing Outlook.> So, since I don't care about gapps contacts anymore I disabled via:
    Disable sync for individual products
    https://support.google.com/a/answer/1041455?hl=en
And also disabled the dynamic Global Address (just in case).
    But the same happens.
I tried with another box, with office 2010, updated it and made a new profile with the office 365 and gapps and the same history.
Finally I though about setting the office 365 account as imap but contacts are not downloaded.
So I'm between a rock and a hard place here.
I need to use office 365 account in the same profile as gapps account.

    Hi,
What’s the file size of your Outlook data file? If your data file is over size, it may cause data file corruption.
Outlook data file corruption may cause this problem. Please try to run a repair of your Outlook data files to check the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227/en-us
Note: You may need to run Scanpst.exe for several times until there is no error.
In addition, here is a thread discussed a similar issue, please take a look at it and check if it helps:

  • Google apps with nokia email..

is anyone having problem adding Google apps account to nokia email. I have e71 and installed nokia email.  well since yesterday I was having problem receiving email.  well now I deleted Google apps account from my phone which deleted from email.nokia.com too.  Now I'm trying to add Google apps account but I get message " We cannot process your request at this time." I don't know what to do.  I'm not sure nokiausa is aware of this issues.  Please help me.
    Ayush

If no one else responds after several days, I may have time to look into this. I have a google apps account for the non-profit I volunteer for, but hardly ever use it. So wait several days and PM me if necessary.

  • Gmail / Google Apps Sync

I'm using a Google Apps (Gmail) email address through Nokia Email on a E71.
What currently doesn't work, is when I archive some messages in my inbox on my computer, it doesn't sync to my phone.
I don't really need it to be instantaneous, but it doesn't seem to sync at all. Only after a manual sync, the message list gets updated.
For new messages, the push service does work.
    Any thoughts?

    Hello John_1,
Nokia Messaging doesn't synchronize with applications (e.g. Outlook) on computers, it only synchronizes with the Gmail server.  With that said, if you archive an Inbox email on your computer, then that change would need to be synchronized to your Gmail web account in order for Nokia Messaging to sync the change to your device.
If you were to archive an email on your Gmail web account, then you will notice that it sends the email into the All Mail folder.  Nokia Messaging has the ability to sync the All Mail folder because it's treated as a subfolder.  However, in order for your All Mail folder to be synchronized, you will first need to enable it within your Nokia Messaging account on http://email.nokia.com.  This setting is located within Edit settings next to your Gmail account.
    Thanks,
    Jeremiah

  • Nokia e72 and where did the memory go????

New Nokia e72, after the disappointing Nokia E75 i really didn`t expect Nokia to release another unfinished phone!
Dont get me wrong, great Phone the E72, solid hardware, but it has the same memory problem found in other nokia devices. 42 M at start up. Tried to go on the internet with the build in browser, 2 big flash sites like CNN and sadly the memory was down to between 356 K to 1 M, and the phone didn´t react anymore. After shuting down the browser, the E72 had 42 M in free memory again. It's the same story when using Spotify or Youtube.
Is there any one else with the same problem?  What will/can Nokia do about it?
    Best regards

I am using the program PhoNetInfo to check for available RAM.  Find it at http://www.patrickfrei.ch/phonetinfo/index.html.  Not sure if there's an easier solution?  You will need to follow the instructions to have it signed at http://symbiansigned.com for it to work.
As for the main thread, I am using an E73, which is basically the same as an E72.  Memory was one of the shortcomings I knew about when buying the phone, but so far I have hit only one browser "Out of memory" error.  Guess the sites I use either have a mobile version or simply aren't so memory intensive?  But I might look at this problem from the other perspective.  Unless they're loaded with pictures, web sites that trigger "Out of memory" are probably obscenely FAT!  I marvel at the design of certain modern web sites.  It's as if the programmers get paid by line of code, or are in competition to win this year's Rube Goldberg prize, for the most unnecessarily complicated invention.  Try downloading such a web site over a dial-up connection.  In this case, the problem is totally different, but the resulting frustration is the same.  And IMHO, the cause is the same: BAD DESIGN.  Simpler is better for visitors and both cheaper and easier to maintain.
Has anybody tried the Skyfire?  While it likely has some problems of its own, I assume it will work around a straightforward "Out of memory" error...because it's not a real web browser?

  • Why is the google app not rated 17+ and why is msecure and 1password pro rated 17+

The google app on iphone and ipad is basically a web browser and should be rated 17+. On the other hand why is msecure and 1password pro rated 17+?

Look at the bottom of the page... In the lower right hand corner... There's a link that  says "Contact Us".

  • Google App Easter Egg - "Bells and Whistles"

I was posting something on Apple's Discussions about the change in the Google Mobile App - a poster was lamenting the change to the mobile-optimized format. I like the classic view better, was searching for a way to change it to that in the Settings during a football game... My point follows.
I was in the app's Settings screen, fiddling with it by scrolling up and down a bit during the review and not looking at the screen - nervous habit, I guess...
After the TD, I stopped fidgeting and looked back at the Settings screen, and there's a new menu at the bottom of the screen I swear wasn't there before called "Bells and Whistles". There's four new settings, following with an appropriate descriptions.
    * Theme Color.
    * Sounds. Default, Chicken, Monkey.
    * Live Waveform. While using the voice search, the waveform matches the intonation of the sound.
    * Open Link in App. I like this one - linked results in the app don't launch the Safari browser and lose your search results; and a new navigational bar appears at the bottom of the app.
Don't shoot the messenger. A buddy watching the game didn't have the extra settings, but just kept scrolling down for a few minutes and the extra settings just showed up and stuck after that.

Great find. It is strange the way you get Bells and Whistles. Without the instructions in this post, I never would have found it. Just wait on the Settings screen on the app, and keep swiping, and all of a sudden, the words Bells and Whistles show up. You hear either the monkey or the chicken sound, depending on which you select, instead of the Default sound, after you do a voice search. The "trick" is that after you say your search words, keep the phone near your ear, and you hear these silly sounds. It is fun.

  • Nokia e72 and e73 Availability

Hello. I Would like to know if e72 is still available in the Phils?
And/or if e73 is available not just for T-Mobile?
    Thanks.

    Hi Pikoot,
Having a look at the Nokia Philippines website, on the All Phones list, it has the E72 still listed so I would assume they are still actively supporting this model (as opposed to other markets). I would ask around in retail stores, or in major retail chains there in the Philippines if they sell the E72 or not. Failing that, it might be a better idea to check online retailers for the E72.
The E73 as far as I know, was only made available for T-Mobile in the USA. Feature-wise, it is pretty similar to the E72. Hope this helps.

  • Sync nokia 9500 and outlook (windows XP)

Worked perfectly for 2 years until a month ago. I treid to add to the objects to sync "notes" and since the sync proceeds as usual but continues with new items labeled " recuperation of client Sync data, followed by elements of the calendar, reading of the contacts, and finally reading of notes (for half an hour!) and ccloses on " sync failed".
    What could I do ?

Check your system version by Open Pc Suite - Help - About...System Info and copy paste all data here.
How many notes you have (all in your 9500?)

  • While other browser seem to work, firefox 4 is behaving bizarrely (wrong) on the google app I'm developing, and while using firebug to debug it I got uncaught exception: 2.2988761746763763e+206

I don't believe the js code is incorrect, but it uses a lot of compute resources and I had to refactor it to avoid getting the roughly-10-seconds-of-hard-compute dialog box asking if I wanted to continue. After which is failed to work correctly. The refactor I did was to create a continuation function for proceeding (or finishing), attached to a 1msec timeout. So the continuation fcn was function () {contfun(25)} where contfun(n){if(n--){dostuff(n);setTimeout(function(){contfun(n)},1)}else{finishup()}}. (The original was essentially for(n=25;n--;)dostuff(n);) When running, the screen seems to flash just before the app goes south.

It shows Peter's doing its jobs properly.
Anyway there is no more communication from Sony since awihle. If you can have any news.
    Anyway good job Zero!

  • Nokia e72, gmail setup + syncing contacts and cale...

    My objective was to
    1) get my contacts into the phone from this account, as I had on my old windows mobile device
    2) set up my gmail account on my new nokia e72
    1) getting contacts from gmail into the phone.
    Go here:
    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=147951
and carefully do whatever is instructed.
*This works for calendar also (I assume you will want your google calendar to come into the phone, and sync thereafter. But all-day entries on google become 24 hour entries, modified by your timezone (eg xyz birthday, 15 mar 2010 5.00 am to 16 mar 2010 5.00 am). Otherwise the calendars seem to sync ok therafter (didn't spend much time there).
*This does not work for tasks. (read the google sync instructions carefully for nokia. but not for tasks, or for email bodies (though email headers sync, and you can probably create and send, and delete etc your email on the phone)
*This does not work email either, ie you can see the message headers, but can't see the bodies of emails on the phone.
The explanation for this I found after much digging is that Mail for Exchange on Nokia is actually meant for Microsoft ActiveSync servers, and Google is providing limited sync facilities using this ....system. (correct me if I'm wrong). See the datasheets on Nokia Europe websites about Mail for Exchange.
Over all, a pity, but you can't blame Nokia. As for Google (in whose hands further improvement lies for MFE playing nice with google mail), I hope, and believe they will make things better here (unless they lose their interest in it like they did with google gears).
2)Now getting your email from gmail into your nokia E72: Here Nokia is at fault, and a serious deficiency. I went to email setup in the menu's and started the wizard to create a new account. It seemed to have preconfigured setups for common email providers like gmail, yahoo etc. I started the gmail set up wizard, keyed in my username and password, then waited 5 seconds, and the screen went back to the previous one. This kept repeating, every time I tried. Tried everything: checked internet connectivity (wifi), closed all other apps including the MFE I had set up earlier, switched off and on the phone, everything short of standing on my head. So what works? How do you set up a personal gmail account on your nokia e72? go here:
    http://www.techniqx.com/2010/02/workaround-for-configuring-gmail.html
(I paste that text here in case that page is removed:
"The email software in Nokia E72 still has lots of bugs. To configure your Gmail account, it’s not as easy as selecting Gmail and entering the credentials. That simply won’t work as there is a bug. Instead, workaround is to select “Other” and enter a false id like [email protected], this will take you to the next page to select the type. Select “POP/IMAP”. Now, you will get an option to enter your credentials and modify advanced settings. Here change your email id back to [email protected] and enter the credentials as mentioned here> (the gmail site for imap manual setup):
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799
And you have gmail set up. Quite inelegant process of setting up gmail on this nokia phone, I would say.
Nokia, please iron out the bugs and inconsistencies in your flagship models' primary functions. Otherwise the phone functions very well, the interface is nice and attractive. And while the bugs are still there, please put up the limitations and  the workarounds if any prominently. Nobody expects 100 % perfection.

I had a number of problems setting up Google Apps with my E72 phone. Mail, Calendar and Tasks were not syncing.
    Mail
I have spent far too long setting up google apps to sync properly with my new E72 (latest software installed). It really is a superb phone but if Nokia is not going to fully support integration with Google Apps with a simple app then Android and Blackberry will simply take over for Apps users. It really isn't up to Google to solve this its up to Nokia. Are we going to move from Google Apps or change our phones????
I have gmail and  business google apps accounts and both are now syncing properly with what seems to be pretty good Nokia email software on the phone. This is allowing me to receive, send, view attachments, view sent mail etc. Here are the steps I took from the beginning. Its a repeat of some of the good advice above which helped me on my long journey!
    1. Enable IMAP for the google accounts. Couldn't get anything to work otherwise.
    2. Follow this instruction https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78887
    3. The inbox should now be working however you now need to map the other folders you want to see on your mobile. While at your inbox go to >settings>mailbox settings>what to sync>folder subscriptions.
    4. Click on Gmail and highlight the folders you want to see
    5. Go back to your inbox and go to the dragdown list of folders and highlight 'More Folders'. Under 'Gmail' you will find your sent items along with attachments etc. Problem solved. Its not a pretty solution but at this stage like me you just want something that works.
    Calendar
This was a nightmare and I am now running a third party app called Googasync which is working fine. In 10 days time I will need to buy this so if someone knows how to setup calendar syncing properly without it please let me know.
    Tasks
Googasync will not sync Tasks and I don't know if there is any app out there that will. If someone can help please let me know. Surely this should be pretty simple!?!?!
By the way I mailed Nokia support last Thursday on the above but have not received a reply other than to tell me that Google Apps is 3rd party software and not supported. Nokia needs to wise up.
In summary its a great phone and I've moved from a Blackerry Bold to it but I shouldn't be spending days finding workarounds!!
