GP getting from external service

Hi All,
Need some advice here. I have a Adobe interactive form (this is the first step of the process) and i need to prefill it's content from an external service. I have created an external service Callable Object which calls my backend RFC. This is working OK when i test the CO. Next step was to create a interactive form CO and assign the external service CO in the prefill function. I did the mapping accordingly. However, when i test the CO, it did not return any output parameters.
Once completed, after instiating the process, it did not work. The process fell under category "erreneous processes".
Any idea? it should be working fine as it's almost similar to the tutorial. Thanks

Its ok. Solved it

  • Supply chain alerts generated from external services

    I am interested in having supply chain alerts generated from external services.
    An example could be an alert based on predicted temperatures over the next few weeks, which would be of use to demand planners using SAP SCM.
    So we would need an external service providing predicted temperatures, which could be modelled by the new SAP BPM tool to generate alerts for users.
    Has anyone any experience of this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I have been involved in the building of UI-layer where we used the ES provided from SAP as of the latest releases for DP. I would suggest that you have a look at these services as I assume the external application would be able to call APO DP and input the data using these services.
    From a technical standpoint we had no problems to use the services provided from SAP. The only area where we ran into some issues was the authentification where we had to build some new web services to handle some customer-specific requirements. But I assume you would not even need these specific features in your scenario.
    Have a look at this link to find all the detailed information:

  • Cant do a file get from external server using file sender adapter with ftp

    Hi all,
    Up until now our company has only used the file sender adapter with ftp protocol to get a file from our XI server for processing and input the file into an integration process
    I have a requirement to do an ftp file get from an external server
    From our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...).  So all firewall issues and communications are fine
    Unfortunately I cannot currently pull files from the external server using the XI file adapter with ftp protocol from the XI development server AWB017
    FTP Connection Parameters: External server name using port 21, Data Connection is Passive, No security, I supply a userid and password
    Processing Parameters: Processing Mode is Archive (I tried test but this did not work either)
    No messages appear in the RWB
    Is there something else that I need to set up in order for the external ftp get to work via the XI file adapter?
    Regards,
    Mike

    Thanks for your responses.
    I have found the error messages in the File Adapter Monitor
    Scenario 1
    When I prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>/Folder/Subfolder</b> the error message is as follows
    <b>EST: Error: Error connecting to ftp server 'ip address': FTPEx: /Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
    Scenario 2
    When I DO NOT prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>Folder/Subfolder</b> a different error message is returned
    <b>Error: Retrieving file 'FILENAME.XML' failed unexpectedly: FTPEx: Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
    At least in this scenario the adapter has been able to identify the file on the external FTP site but cannot retrieve it
    Questions
    I thought that the backslash prefix for the source directory was mandatory but I am receiving an error in each scenario
    I receive the same error message whether the Processing Mode is 'Archive' or 'Test'
    The logs on the external ftp server seem to indicate that I am simply connecting, sending username and password then quiting straight away. I am not issuing any commands that they can see
    I thought that being a Sender adapter it would inherently execute a Pull or Get command
    To recap, from our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...). So all firewall issues, communications, userid and password are fine
    Has anyone experienced these issues?
    Please advise on next course of action?
    Regards,
    Mike

  • Generate Entity Service from External Service / Web Service (CAF)

    Hi,
    is it possible to generate an Entity Service from an External Service in the CAF-IDE? Or do I need to create each attribute manually which the External Service provides?
    (in worst case by using an api?)
    regards
    Christian

    Hi,
    Unfortunately there is no possibility to create Entity Service based on another service. You have to do this manually for each attribute and method. Sorry ...

  • PR creation from External / Service Activity

    Hi all,
    we are currently using External and Services activities.
    The Service activity should generate a PR as soon as it's released whereas the External activity should never generate a PR.
    I'm trying to link the "Reservation Relevance/Generation of Purchase Requisition" field with the "Control Key" :
    Never create a PR <=> PS02
    Create a PR from Release <=> PS04
    Do you know if there is a way in Customizing do default the field depending on the Control Key? (I would like to avoid a validation rule...)
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Thibault

    Hello,
    If you never want ot generate the PR for external activity, then work is simple:
    1) Change the control key PS02 in transaction OPSU and check the box "service".OR alternatively you can make new control key copying PS02 and abandon the use of original PS02 in your projects.
          This will make sure that every time you are using PS02, it will always generate the service PR. Also in network profile settings(OPUU), maintain indicator "2" for Res/Pur Req.
      Hope this solves your problem without using any validation !

  • External Service Failure: There was no Content-Type header

    We have developed a web service using WLW and deployed it to weblogic 8.1 (install from scratch), we manage to invoke the service successfully. However, when we deploy it to the weblogic 8.1 server installed through PeopleSoft PIA , we keep getting the 'External Service Failure: There was no Content-Type header' error.
    Does anyone know what are the differences for the weblogic installed through PeopleSoft PIA or how we can get around the error? Thanks!

    Hi Jerioon,
    Which Master Page and Content Type did you use when you created a new page layout with Designer Manager?
    Whether you could provide a screenshot about this issue.
    In addition, here is an article about creating a page layout with Designer Manager, please take a look at:

  • Entity Services: readByCustomKeys operation mapped to External Service

    Hello *,
    in my CAF application I'd like to read a product from SAP PLM. Within my Entity Service materialNumber is my custom key and therefore a corresponding operation exists: readByCustomKeys.
    I map this operation to my External Service (Web service provided by XI).
    As I can't test this operation directly with the Service Browser (deosn't appear there), I wrap  my Entity Service with an Application Service where I use the readByCustomKeys operation from Entity Service.
    Now when I test the Application Service operation I get the following error message in Service Browser:
    ERROR. Invalid type value :
    In XI I can see that there was no error and I got well defined XML data as response. So the problem must occur anywhere in the mapping back from External Service data to Entity Service attributes.
    Wrong data type mapping can be excluded as I already tested this possibility.
    Does anyone know what could be the reason?
    Thanks for your answers and best regards
    Joschi

    Hello Joachim,
    I dont have a lot of experience with readByCustomKeys (one experience which failed) but uou can also use read itself. If you have defined materialNumber as a key in your entity service, then this field can be used in read operations as well (I have a lot of positve experiences with this approach). You will find materialNumber while mapping read with your external service and you need not map the key field generated by Entity Service.
    For testing entity services, we have had several positive experiences with the config browser, specially for a findBy, read and even update operation. It was very easy to have a prototype UI to check the entity services.
    I know this isnt the answer to your question, but just sharing my experiences.
    All the best!!!

    Parag.

  • Error while using external service from application service

    Hello All,
    I have exposed webservice from a CAF project that i am importing as external service in another CAF project. Now i am using application service to directly call the external service. following is the code in my application service:
    Ns6_getCountryByCode__R inp = new Ns6_getCountryByCode__R();
                   inp.setNs6_countryCode(countryCode);
                   try {
                          HRServicesWSVi__DocumentLocal bn = this.getHRServicesWSVi__Document();
                          Ns6_getCountryByCode__RResponse result = bn.getCountryByCode__R(inp);
                          retValue.setCountryCode(result.getNs6_Response().getNs3_countryCode());
                          retValue.setCountryName(result.getNs6_Response().getNs3_countryName());
                     }catch(Exception e){
                          throw new ServiceException(e);
    I am getting the following error
    ERROR. Problem in server response: [Bad Request].:
    What could be the problem ? Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Ashutosh Rastogi

    Hello,
    It's always a good idea to check the log file. In many cases you find hints what the reason for the error could be. The log file can be found here: <root>usrsap<SID>JC30j2eeclusterserver0logdefaultTrace.<xy>.trc where <root> is probably c:, SID something like F33, F41, ... and <xy> a number 0, 1, .... -> the highest number is the last and therefore most youngest log file. Please check out this file.
    Another very common (but trivial) error is that you forgot to specify the URL and the end point location of your Web Service in CAF's config tool. This tutorial explains this beginning on page 20 <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/11669cea-0c01-0010-63b2-b98c35b1b370">Using a Web Service as External Service</a>.

  • Please help with error message invoking external service from BPEL

    Yes, I'm new to Oracle SOA Suite and BPEL Process manager. I've searched the forums, OTN, and Google and have not found any description of this error message:
    "oracle.fabric.common.FabricException: Number of SOAP body elements and parts do not match in operation: <operation-name>"
    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 and WebLogic/SOA 10.3.2.0.
    The BPEL process was built completely using JDeveloper's graphical tools... I haven't done any raw editing of the BPEL files yet. What types of things might I possibly be doing wrong that would cause this error to occur? Any idea what two things the server is comparing and deciding that there's a mismatch? It doesn't look like it is even attempting to invoke the external service, but bailing out before that, thinking that it's going to send bad data. Below is a bit more detail.
    Also, I loaded up the WSDL (same one that I gave to JDeveloper) into SOAPUI. Then I took the payload that SOA was about to send (see below) and pasted it into SOAPUI. SOAPUI didn't complain and the target web service accepted the message and produced a "success" response. It looks like the payload is correct, so I don't know why SOA is complaining.
    Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Welcome to BPEL. Take a moment, and write "it's a namespace issue" on a sheet of paper. Post it near your monitor. It won't always be a namespace issue, but it's usually a good thing to suspect first! Is the namespace prefix ns1: defined somewhere? Does your XML that is being sent really match what the WSDL has for input to the UpsertEmp operation? The namespaces for each element level in the XML need to match, not just the lowest level.
    When problems like this get really sticky, you can use TCP tunneling (obtunnel shell?) to capture what is really being sent to the server, and compare that to what is sent from SOAPUI. That's more useful if it's a subtle header problem, but you may get better error messages if you catch the BPEL message and send it using SOAPUI.
    Good Luck, Andy

  • Job error in external Service when printing from Google Cloud: HP Laserjet Professional P 1102w

    I have set up my printer and associated it with Google Cloud Printing. I have shared the printer with my daughter who is on a chromebook. When she tries to print, the printer is there and the job is sent to ePrint bu I get an error saying: "job error in external service". No documents are able to print. Google says this is an HP problem.
    I have deleted the printer on my daughters account and re-shared it and reassociated it, but this does not help. On my printers page, my daughter's google account is identified as "allowed to print". But it still doesnt work. Any ideas?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello mapuche,
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
    Will the Laserjet P1102w accept an ePrint from any / all other areas? For example, if (on the Chromebook) you open an Email, forward the Email to the printers ePrint address, will it print?
    Try logging into HPConnected, under Devices, click Settings> Open to Anyone.
    Try sending a print via Google Cloud Print now with this setting enabled, let me know if it sends the print through. I have seen this straighten many issues out.
    Would not be a bad idea to check for firmware updates on the printer too: HP LaserJet P1102w Firmware Update Utility<---A USB connection and Windows computer is needed.

  • Accessing BAPI web services from CAF External Services

    We have wsdl files that corresponds to BAPI calls.  Using CAF, we want to create an external service using those wsdl files and then create an application service which will be in turn used by web dynpro for developing our composites. We did the following steps:
    1. Created a new  Composite Application Service project
    2. Then right click on the External Services, select import, choose Web service.
    3. Select 'Local File System or URL' option. Copy the URL from the wsdl file and pasted the URL in the 'Browse' text field and click Next. Got an error in loading the web service.
    4. Removed the Proxy Server settings in Developer Studio but in vain. Tried all possible combinations with the URL also (such as with and without the wsdl key at the end of the URL and using the 'UDDI or URL' option under the Proxy Definition of the External Services Import and also with the Window => Preferences => Proxy settings).
    5. Since the above options failed, copied the wsdl files to the local drive and then choose that WSDL from the file system. Able to import.
    6. Created the application service and provided the custom code for the request and response.
    7. Registered the external service in the CAF browser -> Administrative tools -> External Service Configuration
    8. Tested the service through the Developer Studio.
    The error I get is: ERROR: IOError while working with the message. Check the nested exception: Connect Refused: connect:
    Any idea on what needs to be done to resolve it?

    authentication is required at design time to read the wsdl from bapis. did you provide username and password when importing the web service.
    you can always add the username and password to the url to see if you can successfully get to the wsdl. Like that http://<webas_abap_servername>:<portnumber>/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=BAPI_PO_CREATE&sap-client=<clientnumber>&sap-user=<username>&sap-password=<password>

    As per requirement, External (Other java application) application suppose to get dynamic converted (HTML version) content from UCM.

    I dont see HTML content is coming as the result of GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service.

    Hi Srinath,
    I have tried your response. Still i am getting hda data only, not HTML content.
    GET_DYNAMIC_URL service with fileUrl attribute is returning HTML content from UCM GUI (browser) but not from RIDC.
    Code i tried is:
    DataBinder dataBinder = idcClient.createBinder();
              dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION");
              //dataBinder.putLocal("dID","1832");
              dataBinder.putLocal("dDocName","ECMPS5_002024");
              dataBinder.putLocal("IsJava","0");
              dataBinder.putLocal("RevisionSelectionMethod","LatestReleased");
              dataBinder.putLocal("DCViewFormat","WebViewable");
              // execute the request
              ServiceResponse response = idcClient.sendRequest (userPasswordContext, dataBinder);
    InputStream istream=response.getResponseStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(istream);
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
    String line = null;
    while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
    System.out.println(line);
    }

  • Bad XML from external web service and would like to change the content

    I am getting a bad XML(not valid) from external web service and I would like to change the content of the body in OSB proxy service to make it valid.
    For example
    <g:Information xsi:schemaLocation="http:// bad schema" xmlns:g="http://abc.com/t.xsd">
    <test>Test Data</test>
    </g:Information>
    should become
    <g:Information xmlns:g="http://abc.com/t.xsd">
    <test>Test Data</test>
    </g:Information>
    Do you how can I do this?

    I don't think it would be the best solution but you may try -
    1. Conver the incoming XML to string using fn-bea:serialize() function
    2. Replace the not-required content with a blank
    3. Covert the string back to XML using fn-bea:inlinedXML
    If you find any other solution, please let us know.

    Anuj
