Gray Lines, Wrong Songs Clicked, Some Songs not downloading

My Spotify is doing weird thinks. In my "Songs" that I have "checked" under "Your Music" there appears to be grey lines that are about the same size as the song choices. Under each line, there is song that is not in "Available Offline" even though I downloaded all of the songs using the "Available Offline". Another weird thing is that when I click the song that is under the grey line, it doesn't play even though I'm connected to internet and have full bars. The final thing is that when i click a song that is in the "Available Offline" mode, it plays the song 3 spaces before it. This happens on every song. I am going out of tonight and this couldn't have happened at a worst time. Please respond ASAP. Thank you.

Mine is doing the same thing. Also, when I go to my songs list, songs that begin with numbers don't show up. Wouldn't it be lovely if you could actually talk to spotify support about this as opposed to posting in a stupid chatroom!?!? Seriously considering getting rid of spotify now this has been going on for a week and I can't get it to stop.

  • Wrong tags for some songs?

I have the 160 gig classic... I love the fact that it can hold so much but some songs have the wrong tag to the....for instance ...I choose Blondie one way or another and the song played will be a Johnny cash song.... You get the gist....
When I play that song song in iTunes on my pc it is correct as in the tag corresponds to the song.....
    Any help would be appreciated.....

Restoring an iPod removes all the data from it, builds a fresh database on the device, then puts back on the content that your request. If the database on the device becomes corrupt then it may index the wrong file for playback and a restore would be the recommended fix. At the very least you should confirm the problem persists after a restore. If so then some more details are likely to be required to pinpoint what is going on, e.g. is the file that plays the next/previous in the song menu for example? Is the one song always replaced by a specific other one and what are the details of both tracks?
If you've selected an album to play, and have more than one album with the same title, then that is best explained by pointing you to http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp
There are some tips in there about not using Sort fields to merge albums. It's quite some time now since I explored that behaviour in detail and I can't recall it actually being responsible for the wrong song being played in the way you originally described which is why I recommeded a restore first. If however, you have tried to use the sort fields in this way then perhaps all you need to do is correct the relevant tags in the ways I recommend in the article and re-sync the device.

  • ITunes points to the wrong location for some songs. I can't fix it...

    Hello,
I have an iTunes library with 6,000+ songs, and I can't afford to lose them all. I tried to copied my entire iTunes folder to my external hard drive, and now most of my songs have the grey exclamation point next to them saying they can't be found. I checked the info of those missing songs, and it says the file path is "file://localhost/Volumes/MUSIC/Music/Artist/Album/Track Title.mp3". However, the actual path should be "/Volumes/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Artist/Album/Track Title.mp3" I think. How can I fix these songs? Some few random songs that still work are pointing to the internal hard drive on my mac in the original iTunes folder. How can I get all the locations set to the right place? Even if I can get it working from my internal hard drive again, that would be good.
I really need to keep all of the track information that is in the iTunes library file (Date added, play count, rating, etc.)
Please help me out, I cannot figure this out to save my life. If you need any other information, please just let me know.
    Thank you,
    Christian

I messed around with the XML file and the .itdb file and somehow I got it to point to my other hard drive and I didn't lose any of my dates added. I wish I payed more attention to what I did so I could help other people with this issue...

  • Charged for downloaded song, but it was not downloaded - could not be found

I purchased a song, however it could not be located to download, yet I was charged for it. What do I do?

Sorry about this! You'll have to email Apple and explain your loss. You can contact them with complaints by clicking on "Support" in the upper right corner when you're in the iTunes Store. Then follow the online instructions to email Apple. (Sorry this isn't working right now--Apple seems to be overwhelmed by iPhone business. If the support lines are overwhelmed--that's probably not the best scenario for Apple!)

  • I just put a itunes gift card in and downloaded songs, but they will not download.it says unable to download

I Just put an itunes card in and will not download songs and it says unable to download

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • U2 songs of innocence booklet not downloaded, what can I do?

I can't get digital booklet of U2, Songs Of Innocence to download, any suggestions?

I have iTunes Match turned on and the Songs of Innocence album
appeared in my music library without the digital booklet listed. I was unable to download it from the store. I successfully downloaded it by:
    1.  turning on 'show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' on the Store tab in iTunes > Preferences
    2. Going to the iTunes Store homepage and clicking on “Purchased” under the “quick links” on the right side of the page
    3. Clicking on "albums" near the center top of the Purchased page
    4. Clicking on "All" near the upper right corner of the Purchased Page
    5. Clicking on the icon of a downward arrow in a cloud in the right upper corner of the Songs of Innocence album cover. This downloaded all the songs and the digital booklet which could be opened from within my music library.
When I first used the quick link to go to the "Purchased" page, the "Not in My Library" button was selected in the upper right corner of the page. I could not download the songs by clicking on the cloud icon until I selected the "All" button in the upper right corner of the Purchased page.
I then deleted all the songs in the album from my iTunes on my computer, but kept them in the cloud, so that they would not take up space on my Mac Book Air. I only kept the digital booklet on my Mac. I love iTunes Match.

  • Some Podcasts Not Downloading - Error 8006

I am running iTunes 7.4.2 - for some reason, some (but not all) of my podcasts suddenly will NOT update. Instead they have an "!" next to them, and when I click on the exclamation point, I get the following error message"
"There was a problem downloading (name of podcast). An unknown error occurred (8006). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again."
Any idea what this could be? I just want to update my podcasts and this is driving me crazy!
    Thanks.

    Hhhmmm!
That rules out my thought that perhaps the Podcasts had changed it's feed. Sometimes they do and then it is simply a matter of accepting two different feeds.
It may be a temporary glitch. Give it a day or two and if you still have the same problem, try ocntatcing the Podcast's producer to let them know of your problem. It may be something they can fix. (Apple are not usually involved in Podcasts.)

  • SOME images not downloading on ANY iPod Touch browser

SOME images from SOME websites are not downloading on ANY browser my iPod has on ANY wireless network.
I have an 8gb iPod Touch 2nd gen, and iTunes 9.1.
I went to vector.tutsplus.com to read some articles like I usually do and most of the images were loading except the images that are actually in the article inline. I figured it was just a safari glitch so I opened up my Opera browser for iPhone. I still couldn't see the images, so I figured it was just my Internet connection. I hopped onto another Wifi connection in my neighborhood and went to the website but the images would STILL not load. They load fine on my computer. Other resides are doing the same thing. It's really hard to read tutorials and articles on graphics design when I can't see images.

I tried pinging some hosts of the images that won't load on my PC here at the office and I can ping the servers with no problem.
When I ping the same servers on my Mac through Terminal, I get "ping: sendto: No route to host"

  • Some emails will download some will not download

Some emails will download some will not

I have the same issue. I thought it was because only the header info is actually stored on the phone and attachments are downloaded as requested. So if you delete the message from the server it would give this "message was not downloaded...".
However, I am now getting the same thing with messages/attachments that are still on the server.

  • HT1849 After I delete songs manually from my iPhone 5s, when I try to pick a song, it will not chose that song but some song above it.  How far up depends on how many I've deleted.  How can I stop this so I can pick the correct song the first time?

After deleting songs manually from my phone, (say, I have a song on there twice and only want one or I realize I don't want a song on my iPhone) when I try to manually pick a song in the music app on my phone, the song that plays will be one that is a number of songs above the one I chose.  If I delete a number of songs, it may be four or five songs above the one I want to play.  It continues after I sync it in iTunes.  How do I stop this?  Thanks,  Gregg

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.
    Cheers,

  • Imported songs and some songs bought through itunes aren't playing on my ipod?

Hey I just updated both my ipod and Itunes, and while syncing new music to my ipod touch (5th gen,) it seems half my music had gone haywire. Some of it is stuff I've bought from bandcamp, downloaded from Itunes, or uploaded from CDs. They all worked fine till I tried syncing new music. Any idea on what's going on? Is it the update? I don't think I did anything that would prevent these files from working. All imported music files are AAC or mp3 and have worked in the past.
As an added note, while looking at the music files through itunes as the ipod was supposed to be downloading them, they usually get a little loading circle, but the entire song was greyed out even though they were selected to load.
Also while trying to play pre-existing music in my ipod, it will skip and jump through songs till it lands on one that works. All the songs it skipped through will have an icon saying they are playing next to them when they are obviously not. Corrupted files? They play just fine on my computer though.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync or delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If necessary
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Some songs loud, some songs quiet... help?

    Hi All,
I am new to the iPhone family, only had my iPhone 5 since January and I have been trying to figure out some music issues. Most have been worked but the last issue has me stumped. I listen to my music all day at work and going from one song to another is either to loud or to quiet or it will start off quiet and then about 10 seconds into the song, the volume spikes. I have tried the sound check setting, deleting and reloading my music (both on my phone and off my PC) and nothing seems to be fixing the issue. Any suggestions??

Just as a warning, the way I fix this problem does take work on my part.
What I do is I right click on the song and under "Get Info" there is a tab called "Options." Under this tab it is possible to manually change the volume. I would advise only doing this if the songs are drastically different in volume.
    Hope this helps!
