Gui_download, not able to write to the file

Hello all,
I am testing file I/O....and have following code:
parameters filename(128) default 'd:\test1.txt'.
data fname type string.
fname = filename.
Data itab2 like sflight occurs 10 with header line.
Select * from sflight into itab2 where carrid = 'SQ'.
*loop at itab2.
write : / itab2-carrid,
          itab2-connid,
          itab2-fldate,
          itab2-price.
endselect.
*endloop.
*itab2-carrid = 'LH'.
*itab2-connid = '23'.
Call function 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
exporting
filename = fname
filetype = 'ASC'
WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR = 'X'
tables
data_tab = itab2
exceptions
file_open_error = 1
others = 2.
case sy-subrc.
when 1.
write 'Error when file Opened'.
exit.
when 2.
write 'error during data transfer'.
exit.
endcase.
The issues is that...file gets created but there is nothing in the file.  Any ideas what is wrong here...

Try as follows.

Call function 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
exporting

WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR = 'X'

<b>data_tab = itab2[]</b>
exceptions
file_open_error = 1
others = 2.
