GUI using Jdeveloper

Is there an easy way to customize the layout
using Jdeveloper.
I am using Business component wizard to generate the default panel .
When i want to rearrange the items in a customized way,
1.i had to set the layout properties of all the panels.
2.had to move all the labels and control textitems from their panel to a common panel,as i belive having those additional panels for each fields is additional burden.
3.i have close to 30 fields to be displayed and i should be able to group them accroding to their functionality i.e like all address info, basic info etc.
4.Also when i take the above approach ,it takes a while for me to move the fields
I am using 256MB RAM,1GB Virtual Memory and my Harddisk is 6 GB with Pentium II processor
Jdevloper version : 3.1(build 681)
OS : Windows 2000 Professional

The code generated from the wizard is actually quite correct and logical given our goals - to make the label and field stay together.
However, this is not quite sympathetic to your goal of re-arranging the fields, and getting rid of the "extra" panel.
If you want a better suggestion,
the answer is the obvious.
Switch to the Source editor.
Do several rounds of Search's and
Search & Replaces and then you will
have the form of your making.
Although, you can do this in the designer, I think you can do it much faster using Source code view.
If this transformation is something you want to do repeatedly, maybe you can write a custom wizard / addin / utility / script?
I hope this helps,

  • Can I use JDeveloper for Data mining

Can I use JDeveloper for Data mining, instead of using stand-alone data miner.
Secondly, if I can, do we require to create another schema and run all the required scripts for data miner or it is not necessary.
    Thanks in advance.

ODM 9i provided a JDeveloper Pluggin called DM4J. In ODM 10g, this was replaced by the standalone Oracle Data Miner GUI. In 10g, you can use the API in JDeveloper, but there is no support via wizards or viewers.
However, models that you create via the API through JDeveloper could be used in Oracle Data Miner for testing, scoring, and model detail viewing.

  • How to create secure EJB web service in Oc4J using JDeveloper?

We are going to develop a EJB web service running in OC4J using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.
By using the JDeveloper feature, we can simply create the web service by using the "Web Service Endpoint Interface" in the session bean.
However, unlike the web service created from Java class, I can't find any option to change the security setting of this web service. We tried adding annotation like @DenyAll for testing, but there has no effect and related method can still be called without WS-Security header.
Now, we can only change the security setting via the web console after deployment (select the web service, then enable security in administration page, and then edit security configuration to change the inbound policies for authentication). It works in our local machine, but it may not work in the production environment as we cannot touch the em console.
May I know if there has any way to include the security setting inside the project?
    Thanks in advance.

If I am not wrong, you might be probably talking about this :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B40099_02/books/EAI2/EAI2_WebServices33.html#wp179056
In order to implement the SOAP header, you would have to :
    (1) Define SOAP header in the wsdl of the service.
    (2) Add a new soap binding in the wsdl, which contains soap header and soap body.
I think, this should get you going..

  • How to print a table in OA Framework using Jdeveloper?

I am using JDeveloper for OA Framework, in my page i want to print a table thorugh Print button.
Please give me some suggestion/methods to do this...

    Bhupendra,
In ur requirement, you would have to go with a dynamic table creation in process request.Attach submit action event to message check box, in the action event code redirect to same page.
In process request, you would have to recreate this table, with additional rows, as per your requirement.

Cannot Generate a Stub or Skeleton for a WSDL that Uses Certain Types (3912349)
JDeveloper 10.1.2 only understands a subset of all of the complexTypes that can be defined in a WSDL document. For example, if the following appear in the "types" section of the WSDL, any use of those types will cause JDeveloper to generate a reference to UnknownType in a stub or skeleton:
    •     Restrictions of simpleTypes
    •     complexTypes which define attributes Does that mean that the jdeveloper will not support complex types?Could anybody tell me how to resolve the above said issue? Is there any patch that i can run to resolve the issue?

  • Deploying SQLJ classes as Java Stored Procedures using JDeveloper 10g

    Hello,
I have defined a SQLJ class, MwaSqljDao.sqlj, in JDeveloper. When I right click on the SQLJ class and "make" the class. It appears to succeed.
However when I attempt to build the project in which the SQLJ class is a member of, a class that uses the SQLJ class has the following compile error:
    - MwaSqljDao not found.
After a little digging it appears JDeveloper is able to compile the .sqlj file to a .java file in the classes output directory. However it does not take it to the next step of compiling the .java file into a .class file.
Is SQLJ still a main stream Oracle technology? Or has it been cast to way side to make way for other technology?
If SQLJ is still a supported Oracle technology how do go about compiling the SQLJ class using JDeveloper?
My goal is to deploy SQLJ into JServer as a Java Stored Procedure class.
    Thank you,
    Rob

    Excellent.
Especially that you resolved it and even more so that you posted the solution.
I do wonder whether you would have gotten help (faster) has you asked in a JDeveloper-related forum such as " Forum Home » Developer Tools » JDeveloper and ADF" at JDeveloper and ADF

  • Problem in accessing Web Services developed using JDeveloper 10.1.3

I am also having the same problem. Calling a web service inside JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 works fine. When I deploy to a jar file and include all Jars that the dependency analyzer identifies, the following error occurs:
standard type mapping initialization error: javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: javax
.xml.soap.SOAPException: Unable to create SOAP Factory: Provider com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.soap.ver1_1.SOAPFactory1_1Impl not found
Your work around defining Java system properties does work, but why do we need to do this using the Oracle SOAP stack?
If there are alternatives to this problem please share. Thank you.

  • Deploying ADF Application to OC4J Using Jdeveloper

I tried to deploy an application to standalone OC4J using Jdeveloper, through a process similar to this:
    Deploying a Web Application
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/deployment/deployment.htm
[making WAR for view-controller, JAR for model, and EAR in a new project]
First I got some errors relating to Apache Log4J jars (org/apache/log4j/Category). The problems are talked over in this forum and oc4j forum. I had to download apache-log4j-1.2.15.zip and add the jar file manually to the project and remove the checks in the WAR file descriptor.
The application was deployed after some attempts successfully, but, now the first page that appears after launching the application is my Home.jspx which is not the same page which comes up when I use embedded OC4J to run the application. The Home.jspx is blank and when I enter a link manually:
    http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Employees.jspx
    instead of http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Home.jspx
    I receive this error:
    500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
Is there anything wrong with my deployment?
(I just mentioned my initial problem with deployment to know if that gives a clue.
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, OC4J 10.1.3.3)
    Thank you in advance.
    Farbod

    Hi,
hard to say from the error message. What if you create a EAR file that includes the WAR file and then deploy it through Enterprise Manager in OC4J ? Also, having a separate deployment project bears the risk fo missing dependencies. Ensure that the project has the project's dependency property set to all contributing projects

  • ERROR: Running OA page using Jdeveloper.

    Hi,
We have extened one ABCVO.xml object related one page. Now i want to run the page from jdeveloper i am getting an error saying XXABCVO.xml of type defination is not found .
Is there any extra setup i have to do reflect the extended changes to be apper in the page when i am running page using Jdeveloper. Please help me.
    Thanks
    sreenu.

    Hi sreenu,
Whenever you are extending a seeded VO, you need to create the substitution for the old VO by clicking on the .jpx file.
Then import the jpx file using the jpximport command from command prompt.
To run the page which contains the customizations, you need to add -Djbo=ProjectName in the runner option of your project settings. Then you will be able to run the page from your local Jdeveloper.

  • How to display the data in XML files into JSP using Jdeveloper.

    Hi All,
I have two XML files one XML file has the view names and the other has the table names of a particular views, how to display the data in JSP using JDeveloper where when i click a particular view the list of tables of that particular view from XML file two should be displayed in JSP Page.
Are there any reference documents, regarding the above process please can anyone guide through how to do it.

Let the servlet ask your business tier to provide the data, then stuff it into beans, and pack those into the Session instance. Then forward the request to the JSP, let the JSP get those beans and display them.

  • Using JDeveloper  for Apps(GL/AR/AP/OM/INV)

    Hi,
I'm in a project to implement Oracle Apps 11i, GL/AR/AP/OM/INV/++ modules.
We have a lot of extensions to do (more than 1500 days-man).
We use AIM and, accordingly, we suggested the client to use the standard development tools for an Apps implementation: Designer, Headstart, Forms, Reports,Discoverer and PL/SQL as programming language.
The client wants to have all the development done in Java.
If I'm not mistaken, we can use in this case Designer, JHeadstart, JDeveloper and Java.
    My questions are:
    1. Is there any showstopper in doing the extensions in Java in an Apps implementation project (with only back-end modules, not iStore, eProcurement, nor SelfService)?
    2. What are the Pro and Cons in doing this in an Apps implementation project ?
    3. Is there anybody out there who has done this crazy thing before ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Horia Nica

    Horia,
Are we talking about developing the User Interface in Java (Swing Client) or are we talking about JSP/Servlet?
Are these extension independent of Oracle Applications or is the requirement to be able to communicate back and forth between screens (i.e. between Forms based application and the new screens)?
For your information, the Self Service applications in the eBusiness suite are developed using JDeveloper and BC4J (sometimes reusing the same PL/SQL business logic between back end applications and Self Service) so I don't see anything crazy in using Java and JDeveloper to develop Oracle Applications extensions.
However, I would suggest to post the question on the eBusiness Suite forum to make sure that you respect what Oracle Applications define in their guidelines for building extensions.

when I follow the instructions "Select File | New > Choose Web-Tier in the Categories, and select Struts > Select ActionForm from the Items > Click OK. "
there is no ActionForm Item ! the only available item is "Struts Controller page Flow" and I allready used this one to create the struts' project template !
(same thing : Struts Action in the next tutorial section is not available)

  • Problem in using JDeveloper 10g with JHeadstart

I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3 and jheadstart 9.0.4.5 and I would like to test jdeveloper 10g preview with JHeadstart.

So I try to test one of my old application with this configuration. After Jdeveloper migrated my workspace and projects and business componenet
to the newer version, I run the application generator. It worked fine without any problem but after running the application, I got an error page showing
that my bc4j.xcfg is not in the path.
On the other hand, I found out that when I wanted to view my UIX pages, 2 dialog boxes appeared. The first one asked to upgrade
to UIX 2.2's new expression language syntax and the other which is on the top of the first one, showing that UIX runtime failed to render the page
    with following detail :

I think that I should have set some setting before use JHeadstart with JDeveloper.
    Could anybody help me ?

    Alex,
The document Sandra referred to applies to JDeveloper 10g preview (9.0.5.0). JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 will NOT work with JDeveloper 109 production (9.0.5.1).
We plan to release a new version end of april that is compatible with 9.0.5.1. See this thread for more info: JDeveloper 10g production, status JHeadstart?
