Handling dynamically generated Images

Hello,
I have a WDJ application that generates Images dynamically based on certain criterion. The dynamically generated images are put to the server using the code
  BufferedImage image = <rendered image ...>
  File outFile = new File( "Output.jpg") ;
  ImageIO.write( image, "jpg", outFile);
  /** Resource path is not set during the file creation
   * as ImageIO throws IllegalArgumentException
It gets saved to the folder <i><drive>\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<InstNo>\j2ee\cluster\server0\output.jpg </i> by default.
Now, how to show up this dynamically generated image in a Image UI element? I have tried setting the output file name to the attribute that is bound to the "Source" property of the Image UI element but it doosn't show up as WD runtime is doing a look-up in the folder <i>../../../resources/com.test/<projectName>/Components/com.test.<componentName>/</i>
Any pointers in this regard are highly appreciated.
Bala

Hi
Try this
Create the alias for the folder (C:\usr\sap\P13\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0.)
1.Goto Visual Administrator->Http Provider->Aliases in the Runtime Tab.
2.Give the Alias Name and Path for the Folder.
3.The Image sorce like http://<Server>:<Port>/<Alias>/<image>.<ext>
Kind Regards
Mukesh

  • How to display  servlet dynamically generated image ?

    Hi,
    How to display servlet dynamically generated image ?
    I have a servlet generating a buffered image in the doGet. I want to display the image in a jsp page with other information. I'm not able to get it properly displayed.
    **Try n# 1 **************************************************************
    This displays my image but nothing elle :
    ServletOutputStream sos = pResponse.getOutputStream();
    JPEGImageEncoder encoder = JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(sos);
    encoder.encode(img);
    **Try n# 2 ****************************************************************
    I tried also :
    In the servlet :
         request.setAttribute("renderedImage", img);
    and in the jsp page :
         BufferedImage image = (BufferedImage) request.getAttribute("renderedImage");
         <img src="<%=ImageIO.write(image,"jpeg",response.getOutputStream())%>" width="300" height="280"/>
    This last try draws big crap in the jsp page, thank you in advance.

    Call another servlet from the IMG tag. Have the servlet stream out the image using ImageIO (instead of writing HTML).

  • How to handle dynamically generated schemas

    Hello! Experts
    In my last query (subject-- JABX implementation Query)which posted in this forum i asked whether JAXB can be used in situation where schema of the xml files are generate dynamically.I came to know through the reply that JAXB can be used only for static generated schemas.Many Thanks for the reply.
    Can any one suggests how to deal with situations where schemas are generated dynamically?
    Many Regards
    Ved

    This question doesn't make sense. If your code doesn't know anything statically about the schema for an input xml document, the only thing you can do is treat it like a generic xml document using something like DOM, and explore it simply as a tree full of nodes.

  • When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the original file name being replaced during the downloading process?

    When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the file name being changed during this downloading process?

    Hi Glenyse,
    Here are my steps.
    1.  I upload multiple image (jpg) files onto my photo album.
    2.  I select the "sharing" by email option for this album.
    3.  I enter the recipient's email address.
    4.  The recipient receives my message and clicks on the link.
    5.  The recipient accesses my photo album and clicks on one of the images.
    6.  The image opens up to its own screen.
    7.  The recipient selects the "download" and then save file option.
    Here is the part I do not understand.  For some reason, during this "download" process, the original name which I have given to the file is replaced by different name.  So I was hoping that someone knows how to prevent the file name from being changed during the "download and save" process.
    Much appreciated if you can help me find a solution to this problem.

  • Dynamically generating workflow and relationship images to the Web

    Is there a good toolkit (open source maybe) out there that will allow me to dynamically draw images containing a workflow or show relationships? I only see packages that are geared for charts, I want to dynamically draw the dependency between 2 or more objects on the fly. To be able to do that I need to be able to draw rectangles (2 or 3d), lines with ends (as in Visio or something) and draw text in the box representing the entity name. I don't want to have to code all this myself using BufferedImage etc. Looking for a nice little toolkit.
    Thanks

    We really need to see what you're seeing.
    Can you post links to before and after?

  • Cross column radio group solution using dynamically generated HTML

    I am tasked with creating a screen in Apex matching look and feel of an existing application screen; tabular form, multiple column radio buttons to update a single column value (radio group needs to be row oriented, across multiple columns). I could not find a way to use HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP () function for this due to the radio group being column based, great as a row selector but not for use across columns (each button being a column).
    My first thought was to comprise and use checkboxes via HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX () for the multiple choices (in each column) and HTMLDB_ITEM.HIDDEN() to hold the chosen value, a JavaScript function for “onClick” event to make the checkboxes in one row act like radio buttons in a radio group. I created a simple application to show the concepts of my solutions …
    SQL looks like this:
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(11, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f11, ''RED'')"', 'RED') red,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(12, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f12, ''BLUE'')"', 'BLUE') blue,
    HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(13, color_choice,
    'onClick="chkboxAction('||pk_id||', document.wwv_flow.f13, ''GREEN'')"', 'GREEN') green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    Columns pk_id and color_choice are set as Show off and Display As Hidden. Note that my HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX items start with id number 11 (f11 – f13) so as not to conflict with the item id’s Apex will generate on it’s own. I could have used HTMLDB_ITEM functions to create all items and had my own PL/Sql update process.
    This creates a tabular presentation with a column for each color choice as a checkbox, shown checked if that color is initially set.
    The JavaScript function chkboxAction() clears the other checkboxes if a color is selected and stores the color in the hidden item db column for use in Apex Submit processing. Sorry the identation get's lost in the post!
    function chkboxAction (id, ckbx, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f11 is RED checkbox
    // f12 is BLUE checkbox
    // f13 is GREEN checkbox
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using pk_id passed in as id argument.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    if (ckbx(idx).checked == true) {
    // Set hidden color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    // Uncheck them all, then reset the one chosen.
    document.wwv_flow.f11(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f12(idx).checked = false;
    document.wwv_flow.f13(idx).checked = false;
    ckbx(idx).checked = true;
    } else {
    // Unchecked so clear color_choice column value to be used in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = '';
    This works well and, as an aside, has an added feature that the color can be “unchosen” by unchecking a checked checkbox and leaving all checkboxes unchecked. This cannot be done with radio buttons unless a radio button is added as “no color”.
    But what if radio buttons must be used, as in my situation? Here is another solution using custom code to dynamically generate radio buttons for a row based radio group rather than using HTMLDB_ITEM.RADIO_GROUP ().
    select pk_id, -- f01
    object_to_color, -- f02
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_1" value="RED" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'RED', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''RED'')">' red,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_2" value="BLUE" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'BLUE', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''BLUE'')">' blue,
    '<input type="radio" name="rb'||pk_id||'" id="rb'||pk_id||'_3" value="GREEN" '||
    decode(color_choice, 'GREEN', 'CHECKED', '')||
    ' onClick="rbAction('||pk_id||', ''GREEN'')">' green,
    color_choice -- f03
    from objects_to_color
    The pk_id column is used here to ensure a unique name and unique id for the items. In practice a custom api should be used to generate items in this way.
    The JavaScript function is actually simpler for radio buttons because the radio group handles the mutually exclusive logic for choosing a color.
    function rbAction (id, color) {
    // f01 is pk_id (hidden)
    // f03 db column color_choice for update (hidden)
    var idx;
    // Find row index using evaluation_question_id.
    for (var i=0; i < document.wwv_flow.f01.length; i++) {
    if (document.wwv_flow.f01.value == id) {
    idx = i;
    i = document.wwv_flow.f01.length;
    // Set hidden result column referenced in update.
    document.wwv_flow.f03(idx).value = color;
    Now the problem is that on update, Apex will be confused by the custom items and try to post updated values to it’s own internal items – which don’t exist. The result is the very frustrating HTTP 404 - File not found error when apex/wwv_flow.accept executes on Submit. So, the trick is to clear the custom items prior to the update with a simple JavaScript function, then the values show again when the page is rerendered, if you are not branching from the page. The Submit button is changed to call the following function:
    function submit () {
    var items = document.getElementsByTagName("INPUT");
    for (i=0; i< items.length; i++) {
    if (items(i).type == "radio") {
    if (items(i).checked == true)
    items(i).checked = false;
    doSubmit('SUBMIT');
    This technique might have general use when using custom items. Comments or improvements on this?
    See Oracle Apex site: workspace SISK01, app OBJECTS_TO_COLOR

    Just the code for formatting.

  • Dynamically generate JSF Source code in a JSP

    Hi,
    I have a JSP and instead of writing the JSF source Code like:
    <h:inputText
    styleClass="entryInput"
    id="textNumberOfServerMachinesInput"
    value="#{DataAccess.value}"
    valueChangeListener="#{InputValueChanged.processValueChange}">
    </h:inputText>
    manually in the jsp I want the JSF source code to be added dynamically to the jsp.
    So what I want is including a tag in the jsp and this tag generates JSF source code like seen above.
    This source code should then be treated just the way it would be if I had written it manually in the JSP. This means that the dynamically generated JSF code must be interpreted and all Listeners and Beans work just fine.
    How can I make this???

    Hi,
    I have a smiliar problem:
    JSP:
    <h:panelGrid binding="#{fileUploadGrid.panelGrid}">
       <%-- emty in jsp --%>
    </h:panelGrid>The panel should be populated with items the backing bean creates in source code:
    FileUploadGrid.java
    public void setUploadFieldNumber(int uploadFieldNumber) {
        this.uploadFieldNumber = uploadFieldNumber;
        this.refresh();
    private void refresh() {
        if (this.panelGrid == null)
          this.createPanelGrid();
        List children = this.panelGrid.getChildren();
        children.clear();
        for (int i = 0; i < this.uploadFieldNumber; i++) {
          HtmlOutputText out = new HtmlOutputText();
          out.setTitle("Image " + i);
          out.setRendered(true);
          HtmlInputText in = new HtmlInputText();
          children.add(out);
          children.add(in);
    private void createPanelGrid() {
        this.panelGrid = new HtmlPanelGrid();
        this.panelGrid.setColumns(2);
        this.panelGrid.setCellpadding("1");
        this.panelGrid.setBorder(1);
        this.panelGrid.setWidth("50%");
        this.panelGrid.setRendered(this.isRendered());
    public void setPanelGrid(HtmlPanelGrid panelGrid) {
        this.panelGrid = panelGrid;
      public HtmlPanelGrid getPanelGrid() {
        return this.panelGrid;
    }The backing bean is initialized in faces-config.xml:
    <managed-bean>
      <managed-bean-name>fileUploadGrid</managed-bean-name>
      <managed-bean-class>org.smi.pte.isf.FileUploadGrid</managed-bean-class>
      <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
      <managed-property>
        <property-name>rendered</property-name>
        <value>true</value>
      </managed-property>
      <managed-property>
         <property-name>uploadFieldNumber</property-name>
         <value>6</value>
      </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>The problem is: although the debug output of the faces framework (I use it along with Tomcat) shows that the in- and output fields are added correctly to the panel, the page remains empty at display.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Dynamic generate JNLP from JSP ?

    Hello,
    I tried to generate JNLP from JSP, but it just show the Opem/Save diakog and cannot startup the Web Start.
    I am using Tomcat-5.5.12 in WinXP + JDK1.5
    How can I dynamically generate JNLP ?
    Eric

    It will range from easy to rather difficult, depending on how hard you try...
    If you want to do the bare minimum it will require you to code up some JSPs with scriptlets, declarations, expressions, and <jsp:xxx ...> tags, have some server turn them into a servlet for you, and then determine how things like
    <%@ page isELIgnored="false" %> are handled. Things like:
    <jsp:useBean ...> <jsp:setProperty ... > should be rather easy to translate using introspection on the beans they refer to. But <jsp:import ...> and the likes may be more difficult.
    Any normal html code is just wrapped inside a out.println(...) statement. Scriptlets should have the <% %> stripped and coppied to the output. Expressions should have their <%= %> stripped and be added to the surrounding out.println...
    for example:
    <a href="<%=thePage%>">
    should become:
    out.println("<a href=\""+thePage+"\">");
    All the content should be added to a _jspservice method.  Then, things between <%! %> should be coppied to source file as methods.
    Complications come when people start to use custom tags. You will have to learn how to create a PageContext that will be available to the jsp service method.
    You should also look up the JSP/Servlet spec to see how this stuff should be done.
    It is a whole nuther can o worms if the resulting JSP is expected to compile without a server...</a>

  • Dynamically generate javascript in jsp

    i really need sm ideas...
    i have got image url in my table in database.. for eg:---------> /img/img.jpg(this is there in my table)
    in the jsp page i have got the urls in an arraylist..now i have to put it on roll...for eg there are10 images, when the page loads i have to display the first image and then on mouseover it will keep rolling to the next image and it goes on..
    the roll is done in javascript..
    i have to dynamically generate the javascript...what do i do?...how do i do that?

    which JavaScript you want to generate?
    Can you post your jsp and explain what kind of javascript you want to generate in that jsp?

  • Dynamically generating colums

    Hi Experts,
    i have one requirement.
    just i will explain u with an example.
    i have ekko header in selection screen .
    i want to retrive ekko items for the selected ekko header and display the item data horizontally along with the header.
    so the columns shud be generated  dynamically.
    now i want to fill itab with that  values and generate extra colums for that .
    so if anybody worked on such scenerio pls reply me with the solution as soon as possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kranthi

    You can try for example something like this, to dynamically generate a table/structure:
    DATA: struct_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_structdescr,
          table_type TYPE REF TO cl_abap_tabledescr.
    DATA: table TYPE REF TO data.
    DATA: compontents TYPE COMPONENT_TABLE.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <comp> LIKE LINE OF components.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <table> TYPE ANY TABLE, <structure> TYPE ANY, <field> TYPE ANY.
    * Create table/structure
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE components ASSIGNING <comp>.
    <comp>-name = 'field'.
    <comp>-type = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'CHAR50' ).
    struct_type = cl_abap_structdescr=>create( components ).
    table_type = cl_abap_tabledescr=>create(struct_type).
    CREATE DATA table TYPE HANDLE table_type.
    ASSIGN table->* TO <table>
    * Fill table
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO TABLE <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
    ASSIGN COMPONENT 'field' OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
    <field> = 'value'.
    * Access table
    LOOP AT <table> ASSIGNING <structure>.
      WRITE: 'Line:', sy-tabix.
      LOOP AT components ASSIGNING <comp>.
        ASSIGN COMPONENT <comp>-name OF STRUCTURE <structure> TO <field>.
        WRITE: / <comp>-name, ':', <field>.
      ENDLOOP.
      WRITE /.
    ENDLOOP.
    What you need to know is the components of your structure, before creating the data type. But you could use this table to store your data for display in the ALV.
    You can also get the components of an existing structure and add your fields to that:
    struct_type ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( 'EKKO' ).
    components = struct_type->get_components( ).

  • Dynamically loaded images cached?

    We have an xml feed that is refreshed every hour. According
    to the xml file, we dynamically load an image into an html text
    field each time someone hits our page. All of the images have been
    recently updated, but the old ones are still appearing? We use the
    swf?nocache=randomnumber convention to make sure the swf file
    itself isn't cached, but is there anything we can do to clear out
    the cache of dynamically loaded images? If there isn't anything we
    can do, will these all eventually refresh themselves? This is how
    the html is generated where "twcImage[0]" is the image in question.
    Thanks!

    Do the same random number for the images.
    twcImage[0] + randomnumber

  • Any way for one VI to dynamically update images shown in another VI's Image Display control?

    I've just discovered (in LV v7.0) that, while I can wire to it, I cannot write image data to a "value" input terminal of a property node associated with an Image Display. When the VI runs I get this error:
    "IMAQ Vision: (Hex 0xBFF6051A) The Image Display control does not support writing this property node."
    (I must admit that I have to wonder why we are allowed to wire to it, if all it does is generate this error)
    Is there any way for one VI to dynamically update images shown in another VI's Image Display control?
    I am not interested in using IMAQWindDraw windows.

    OK, I have found one way to simultaneously access one VI's image data within another VI without the use of globals. I don't know if it makes use of a known feature of image data that will be with us forever or if it is a bug that will disappear sometime in the future...
    It seems that if I create an image data stream in one VI using IMAQ CREATE and name the data stream "ABC" and then create an image data stream in another VI using IMAQ CREATE and also name that data stream "ABC" then in fact they are both the same data streams and they can be read or written by either VI.
    Using this feature I can write the common data stream in one VI and using a shared occurrence or semaphore let the other VI know when it is OK to display the data from the common stream.
    This method requires that the displaying VI needs to have a while loop around the image display which is not nearly as simple as a display that is updated automagically by another VI writing to a VALUE input that is referenced back to the Image Display. I'd still like to know if there is some way to make that work.
    One corollary to this is that if you have several image data streams in use in a system (they can be in totally separate VI's, running independently) and you don't want them tromping on each other's image data then you need to make sure that they (the image data streams) get created with different names. An example of a place where this might bite you (and where I discovered this "feature") is to have multiple copies of the same VI with different names to do image acquisition and display from multiple cameras. Being copies of the same VI, they all had the same image data stream names, defined as constants, within them. When they were run simultaneously, the image data from all of the multiple cameras randomly appeared in all of the image displays. I don't know if this feature would hold up if the separate VI's were turned into separate executables and then run. Do any of you know if this sharing of image data streams with common names works across executables running on the same machine?

  • Making a dynamically generated field as Read Only

    Hi All,
    I am extending a standard CO and in that I wanted to make an entire table as read only. I checked by personalizing the page from front end, but as the items are dynamically generated fields , they are not visible in personalize page.
    So is there any way to cach these fields and make them read only programmatically.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth

    Hi Pratap,
    I have looked into the view source and took the name of a input type ( There is no ID for the field) and used it in findIndexedChild, but it returns a null. I guess this is happening is the current CO is a mere region level CO and it is not being given the access.
    The code in the class file is as follows :

  • Generating images on the fly to use as backgrounds for components

    I am creating an application that has an input number slider with a background image. I would like to change the background image on the slider based on its position (as chosen by the user) using a partial trigger.
    I have successfully been able to do update the background images if I have these images inside of my "Web Content" folder within my JDeveloper project. Instead, I would like to be able to generate the images as needed. These images are color gradients where the start/stop of the gradient is based on the slider's thumb position (as well as other user-defined variables). Because there are many different images that could possibly be created, I am looking into generating the images at runtime rather than have hundreds of images stored somewhere.
    I am trying to generate these images using a BufferedImage that I can then write to a file. The path I am saving it at is as follows:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ServletContext sc = (ServletContext)fc.getExternalContext().getContext();
    String path = sc.getRealPath("/") + filename;
    I then create the file at the path and use ImageIO to write it:
    File f = new File(path);
    ImageIO.write(bi, "png", f);
    I am saving this file path in a variable in my backing bean that I then use on my ADF page to populate the background image field of the slider.
    Problem: when I run the page, my slider does not have a background image.
    Looking at the location where the file should be saved, it is actually "saving" it within a .war file which I don't think is appropriate (or possible, for that matter). Is there some way that I can save it either on the server side or the client side so that the client can see the background actually being updated using the generated image? I am almost positive that the path I listed above is incorrect - if this is the correct approach for this problem, where would be an appropriate location?
    Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Instead of saving the image to a file, why not use a Servlet to write the image to the Servlet's response stream. Then, you just point the background image to the Servlet.
