Yes it does work. There are various versions of it and they only work with certain routers. Cannot remember the site its on . I think its the kitz site

Has anyone used an app with the new Maverick software to burn iphoto slide shows to DVDs that will play on a standard DVD player? This probably cannot be a demo app in that the amout of photos on the slideshows is large.

Export the slideshow from iPhoto, that makes a movie of it.
Do you want to use this DVD in a domestic DVD player? If so, then the disk will have to be 'authored' to make it the correct form for that. If you have iDVD then that's the app you use. However, iDVD is no longer developed or distributed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk.

Has anyone used DASYLab with either the NI cDAQ-9138 or cDAQ-9139?

I am thinking of purchasing either the cDAQ-9138 or cDAQ-9139. We have had good success with DASYLab on prior systems and would like to continue to use DASYLab but would like to use it in conjunction with NI C-Series modules on a Standalone cDAQ platform. I would like to hear if anyone else has any experience with DASYLab on the cDAQ 9138 or 9139 and are there any issues with interfacing with the C-Series Plug-in Modules?

Looking at the spec for the cDAQ-9138 and cDAQ-9139 - DASYLab will require the Windows Embedded system. I do not have any personal experience with either unit.
We have not specifically tested DASYLab with Windows 7 Embedded, but have had good success with Windows XP embedded. DASYLab will not run in the RT system - you need to stick to LabVIEW for that.
You might feel a bit tight with just 2GB of RAM - but Windows Embedded may not need as much memory as standard Windows. Simply disable unneeded services and applications - run with the bare minimum needed to run the DAQ services and DASYLab application.
DASYLab does support NI-DAQmx devices.
It's possible that my colleagues in Germany will have some comments... we just have to wait for them to get back from the holiday.

Has anyone had any trouble with the Move tool in Photoshop (v14.2.1)? I'm getting a dimmed bounding box akin to the transform bounding box, but this one won't let me apply or escape.

Having trouble suddenly with the Move tool creating a bounding box that wont let me release it by any means. It remains there no matter what, and now I'm having trouble using the Paste Into command.

Are you trying to move a background layer by any chance or a layer that is partially locked?? If you have show bounding checked in the option bar you should see the bounding box.

Has anyone used Apple Maps (on the Mac) for RoadTrip planning?

I would like to use Apple Maps to plan a road trip, but I don't see a way to drop multiple pins for multiple locations. for example, I'd like to visit South Dakota, specifically, Custer and DeSmet, but I'd also like to visit Devil's Tower in Wyoming, the petrified forest which is close by, some caves, etc. I would like to be able to set my starting point and drop some pins for points of interest and then figure out what else is around those points of interest (PINs) such as restaurants, hotels, historical sites, etc. And finally be able to pull all this together so I can figure out the road trip.
Has anybody done this and if so would you be willing to share some tips?

This can't be done with Maps at this time. The best you can do is amass a set of bookmarks that contain a maximum of one starting point and one ending point with no way to organize them beyond the order in which they were created. (A completely fruitless exercise in my experience.)
IMO, you're much better off creating maps with Google Maps, saving those maps, then accessing your saved maps through the Google Maps app (in its settings) on your iOS device or via the Web on a Mac. You can also use the Google Maps app in conjunction with the TripAdvisor app and even the OpenTable app to navigate to places to stay and eat anywhere in the country.
(Don't underestimate the value of paper maps for long road trips like this, either.)

Has anyone used VNC successfully with the portal?

When I try to connect to vnc through the portal (eg http://server:5803), I can view the correct login page, but get the error "java.net.ConnectException. Connection refused", yet it works when NOT through the portal. Anyone have any insight? Thanks.

Never tried VNC through the rewriter and http, but am not surprised at all that it won't work.

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module (Bitswise Systems) to interface to a USB Camera via IMAQ for USB?

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module made by Bitwise Systems with LabVIEW for image acquisition. I have a USB camera and I'm trying to use the IMAQ for USB controls to no avail. Any input is appreciated.

Are you using the NI-IMAQ for USB functions or are you calling the QuickUSB libraries from LabVIEW? Unless the USB camera is DirectShow compliant, then it will not work with the NI-IMAQ for USB driver. You can use the Code Interface Node in LabVIEW to call external dll's, and it looks like from QuickUSB's website that is the best way to go. Hope this helps.

I just discovered appscript and so far I like what I see. has anyone used it?
Does it just wrap around actual applescript commands which it then sends to osascript with a system call or does it use the message system directly? Is there anything that it has not yet implemented that might cause problems?
To me it seems to be a perfect solution to the clutter that AS seems to be... at least from someone coming from more traditional languages.

Just bought one - arrives next week. From what i can tell it's should be the fastest mac for lightroom. Processor speed is most vital. Doesn't really use all the mac pro multiple cores as I understand 4 is plenty (correct me pls?) and 16Gb ram should hopefully do it. Getting a raid thunderbolt 2 drive for image storage which will daisy chain with my eizo monitor. Choose 3tb internal fusion as I understand full SSD doesn't really help too much. 2GB graphics plenty unless you're doing video maybe?.
Only issue is I have a series of archive 3TB firewire 800 drives which are daisy chained. the questions is how will these work with an adapter but this remains to be seen....

I am frustruated with the Seagate Wireless Plus. I think most of you just download movies in it and then watch it on your tablet. I thought this can be my external storage for everything including the content of my iPad. Not so easy!!! I can't see anything from the content of my iPad when I connect it wirelessly to Seagate. I wrote to Seagate and apparently there is another thing called WebDav in order to do it. I think Windows are winning here how easy it is to connect devices. Simply, I can see the demo stuff from the Seagate on my iPad but nothing the other way, no pictures, no music, no videos stored on my iPad can be seen from the Seagate. If there is somebody who can explain to me how to do it before I will return the Seagate to the retailer please do it in a way normal people understand. Don't say "I think" as most of people in these forums do, please say only "I know" and lead me step by step what to do. I have the latest iPad mini with iOS7, 32GB WiFi & Cellular with Retina display. I've already updated the Seagate OS to 2.2.0.005 exactly as they advise by installing the 2.1.0.014 prior to that.
Please forgive me for the tone but those 10 hours I spent so far without any results are too valuable to me.

Has Anyone Used the WD My Book External Drives for Time Machine?

I'm thinking of getting the Western Digitial 1 or 2 TB My Book (Pro Edition 2 or Studio Edition) External Drives for use with 2 MacPros. Has anyone used these and could I use them with Time Machine? Would I have to reformat them for Time Machine?

You may, and probably want to format them, even if not TM use, I would anyway. Not everyone is happy with MyBook Pro and TM.
I buy bare FW devices and add disk drive of choice, or just use OWC

A: The main benefits are that you can now connect to your Essbase servers (via Essbase Enterprise Services) over HTTP, which means you don't need TCP connectivity. The "add in" can be a CAB file that self installs when the user hits a page you set up.
