HasViewList is showing in object browser as obsolete

My machine has BOE XI 3.1 .NET SDK and Crystal Reports 2008 installed.
I am developing in Visual Studio 2003.  My object browser displays CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportviewer.HasVewList as a valid property.
However, my coworker is showing that same property being greyed out and the "hover over" text shows "obsolete".
My coworker has Crystal Reports 2008 installed and not the SDK.
Is that what is causing this difference?  How can we fix this so he is able to access this property?
Thank you!

Thank you once again Jason.  We will take your advice then.
I posted another issue today if you are interested!  ('bobj' is undefined using VS 2003)

  • Object Browser "Show More" Issue

I expected a mouse click on Show More to load additional objects in the browser, but it doesn't. Using the filter and a wildcard does bring back the requested object. Additionally, the filter doesn't seem to store any of my prior filter criteria, even though there is a drop-down box implying this functionality

Thanks for your response, Mike. I understand what you're saying on the performance issue to load objects in the browser. What I meant was that I couldn't get "Show More to actually show the remaining objects, nor could I find a setting or context menu that would perform that action.
I did just discover that entereing %% in the filter shows remaining objects, but this isn't exactly intuitive based on how Oracle normally handles wildcards.

  • Bug: object browser shows invalid identifier when browsing  table data

    Hello,
    getting the following message:
    failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-00904: "some column name": invalid identifier
    to reproduce,
install the sample application in application express
open object browser (tables are displayed)
    click on first DEMO table
in the right panel, click DATA to view contents of table
    click on 2nd DEMO table
repeat process for each table, eventually it will appear; mileage varies between table clicks to error
the data can be displayed without errors by simply clicking DATA link again
I don't find a particular pattern as to when it appears (time between clicks, order of tables clicked)
my environment: oracle xe, appex on local machine with windows xp
    Thanks.

    Hello,
This is a known bug/issue because of how the object browser iframe interacts with some of the ajax data pulls.
It will be fixed in 3.0 when we drop the iframe from the object browser and make it fully Ajax based.

  • Cannot Edit in Object Browser using Firefox 1.5.04

    Hello Everyone,
I've run into a problem on my installation of XE (Windows 2000, latest patches, 1.5GB RAM). In Firefox (1.5.04), when I go into Object Browser and bring up a stored procedure or function, the code doesn't show in the editor window. I get a single dark green line at the top of the edit area, but no code displays. The edit button greys out when I click it, and all of the other buttons are unresponsive.
I've cleared my cache, exited and restarted Firefox, and rebooted the machine, all to no effect.
It does work okay in IE6, however. I did a forum search and found some threads about other Firefox quirks, but they all appear to be from pre-production versions of XE, and I'm running the latest version I know of: Home, Administration, About Database reports the following:
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Product
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE 10.2.0.1.0 Production
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
Any ideas or pointers would be much appreciated!

    Jer,
The only extensions it shows are DOM Inspector (1.8.0.4), and Talkback (1.5.0.4). They must be defaults because I don't remember installing them.
I removed both of those, restarted FireFox, and cleared the cache again -- that didn't change anything.
    Thanks

  • What is the red block on left of Materialized View in SQL Object Browser

    Hi
In APEX 4.0 i have a few Materialized Views - all work fine, but when I view them in the SQL Workshop Object Browser, a little red block appears on the left hand side of the MV name.
I'm curious to know what this might mean.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Jari
That is what is puzzling me, because if I examine the Details tab of the particular MV it shows as VALID.
The same shows when I run in SQL:-
    select status
    from all_snapshots where NAME = 'MV_NAME';
    The status is valid.
It is not a problem - just puzzling?!
    Thanks anyway.

  • 10g XE - 404 error when I click on Home Object Browser (in IE)

    Greetings
I use 10g XE with my xp/sp3 system, with IE7 (initially IE8RC1-also problematic).
The problem is that if I click on Home>Object Browser
I always get a "HTTP 404 Not Found"/The "Webpage cannot be found" error message
I've followed the instructions from htp://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#BABFHAEC,
I've uninstalled my antivirus (Kaspersky Internet Security 2009) and have Windows Firewall disabled
I've setup the ports needed by Oracle to my router (1521,2030,8080)
I have even started IE in safe mode(=without addons) --- iexplore -extoff
    I've tried almost anything...
With other browsers (Firefox,Google Chrome, Opera)
that "Object Browser" button works ok,
BUT at other points (eg. "SQL>SQL Scripts>Create")
they all have more or less display problems (while IE shows all other things ok).
    Please help :(
    PS. I've read in http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=554359
that there is a patch (#5648872) that could fix the problem,
but unfortunately http://metalink.oracle.com/ is only for Oracle's paying customers,
while I need/use Oracle 10gxe (free download) for my university lessons :( :(

    Yes, of course.
Here is what I get in IE now instead of a plain 404:

  • The problem (procedure, function, package) in  object browser

we are using htmldb 2.0 in oracle DB 9.2.0.6. When we are using http server from 9.2 in the object browser for procedures, functions, packages display window show only header and all window is red, all other objects look fine. when the same DB I config with http server 10g(companion cd) it is display all objects fine.
PS we didn't forget to put
    AddType text/xml xbl
    AddType text/x-component htc
Is it bug in htmldb through http server 9.0.3.

I thought this was a browser issue. I "see red" from IE from my home PC, but I thought that's because my browser isn't up to date. Update downloads are too big for the dialup connection from home.
My IE and FF browsers work fine from work - where I update them regularly - over a nice fast connection.

  • "Object Browser" Table Query "Drill Up" Fails with ORA-00942

I call the apps API from custom code.
It runs the API with no issue. It fails when it tries to access the HR table. So APPS cannot access HR.
Are you saying I need to modify APPS code?? That is not likely. Are you saying I need to create a public synonym for an HR table for APPS? That seems unlikely also...OK, looks like there is a typo in your first post and the object name is IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES.
From eTRM, I see the following:
    TABLE: HR.IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES
    http://etrm.oracle.com/pls/et1211d9/etrm_pnav.show_object?c_name=IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES&c_owner=HR&c_type=TABLE

  • Column comment is not seen in Object Browser

I want to specify comments for each column in the tables I develop. But the Object Browser does not show Comment field when I create table columns or modify them.
Is it possible at all to specify column comment using the Object Browser or I need to do it using SQL?
What is the SQL command to do that?
    Thanks.

  • No Connection window and no object browser - also getting java exceptions

Ok, something's whacked - SQL Developer was working just fine on my Win XP sp2 system until I rebooted. Now, when I run SQL Developer there is no Connections window. When I do select View->Connections it does nothing.
The only way I can connect is File->New then select Database Connection. Once there I can see the list of the database connections I was using so I select one and log in no problem.
However, once connected all I get is the SQL Worksheet - there is no Object Browser!
Also, in the Tools->Preferences if I select Code Editor or Database Connections or Debugger etc etc (not everything mind you) I get an error dialog. Pressing 'Details' gives me this...

I've tried rebooting again and that didn't solve anything.
I've tried reinstalling it and that didn't solve anything.
I'm running out of ideas as to what might be wrong - anyone ?

Hmmm... ok... I downloaded it again and reinstalled and now it works - ah... ok...
I did do one thing different however - I removed the old directory rather than just unzipping over top of it like I did last time (but I did ask it to overwrite).
The only thing I can think of is a corrupted configuration file or something.
Whatever, it works now - sorry to have trouble anyone.

  • Apex 4.0 - Can see view data in SQL*Plus but no data in Object Browser

    Hi There,
I have just started using Apex 4.o and migrated some apps. I have an issue with a report, but see the same issue with Object browser, which is easier to describe.
    I have a view:
create or replace view V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES (
             CODE_SET_ID,
             CODE_SET_CODE,
             CODE_SET_DESC,
             CODE_ID,
             CODE_SYS_CODE,
             CODE_VALUE,
             CODE_DESC,
             DISPLAY_SEQ,
             DISPLAY_FLAG,
             LANGUAGE_CODE) as
      select CS.CODE_SET_ID,
             CS.CODE_SET_CODE,
             CS.CODE_SET_DESC,
             C.CODE_ID,
             C.CODE_SYS_CODE,
             C.CODE_VALUE,
             C.CODE_DESC,
             C.DISPLAY_SEQ,
             C.DISPLAY_FLAG,
             C.LANGUAGE_CODE
        from PLJ_CODES C,
             PLJ_CODE_SETS CS
       where C.CODE_SET_ID         = CS.CODE_SET_ID
and CS.CODE_SET_TYPE_CODE = SYS_CONTEXT('PLJUMPSTART','C_USERDEF_CODE_SET');This returns data in SQL*Plus, but no data in Object Browser OR report region based on this view.
Workspace parses in the same schema as tested in SQL*Plus.
If, in report, I swap out view, and use underlying table - no problem.
    Any ideas -
    thanks
    P

    Hi all,
Thanks for getting back so promptly.
It just seems weird to me, as tables are just fine, but not views.
    In the underlying schema:
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "ICSREPORTING"
    SQL> select count(*) from plj_codes;
      COUNT(*)
           107
    SQL> select count(*) from v_plj_userdef_codes;
      COUNT(*)
            29And in the APEX schema
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "APEX_040000"
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
SQL>However, in SQL browser, I can see the data in PLJ_CODES but in V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES, just the message "This view has no data". Indeed, it is like this for all views.
I even explicitly granted access to APEX_040000 but no good.
In fact, I would like to know more about how Apex gets access to do DML against the underlying parsing schema(s).
This is a little frustrating though. It worked just fine in lots of apps in version 2.1 to 3.2
    Am I missing something

p.s I knew there would be a question about the context, but I had already checked that. :)

From your description, it appears you want to do an AJAX call where a request is sent to a url without updating the browser window. There are many libraries that make it simple to do this type of thing. http://ajaxian.com/ is a good place to start to look at AJAX if you are unfamiliar with it. Some popular libraries include dojo and jmaki.

Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps.

  • How can I disable "Show hidden objects" by default?

I've started linking to files on my computer like this, 'Index of file:///Users/michaelo/Dropbox/KN' which works fine apart from the fact that this calls up all the hidden files, which do not want to see by default.
There's a checkbox "Show hidden objects" which will hide these when unchecked. But settings are per folder and of course aren't remembered between sessions.
Is there a way via about:config to hide hidden objects by default?

  • Cannot add new components in Object Browser

    Hi,
We have a complex file with about 80 components. The problem is that when I try to add new components, they're not visible in Object Browser. It's possible to drag components into canvas, but not only they don't appear in object browser but also vanish after saving and re-opening the file.
No error messages or hang-ups. It's just as if adding become disabled or something.
I'll appreciate nay help on this

Is the new component hidden in the grouped objects, can you see it in the Objects browser?
You can drag a component out of a grouped object from within the object browser.  Select the component and drag it up onto the grouped component name, it should then be outside of the grouping.
What version of Xcelsius are you using?
