Having parsing xml like below into a struct.
I'm having parsing xml like below into a struct. I tried this function but that just gives me the 1st <Condition's attribute in a resultant struct

<Condition name="TUESDAY" conditionEnabled="1" />
<Condition name="THURSDAY" conditionEnabled="1" />

I'm trying to mimic a flex filter function and I'm not sure how to implement it in a cfscript. I basicallly need to put each condidtion name ie, Tuesday into a dictionary and then in the code test for each condition ie in flex I done this:
the code I'm trying to do in cf is
var conditionsD:Dictionary=new Dictionary
for each(var o:Object in conditions)
conditionsD[o.name]=true;
From this code in flex
var conditions:ArrayCollection=convertXmlToArrayCollection(new XMLDocument(item.conditionsXML));
//create a dictionary asour conditions are strings
var conditionsD:Dictionary=new Dictionary
for each(var o:Object in conditions)
conditionsD[o.name]=true;
//now we finally validate,
if (conditionsD['SUNDAY'])
if (today.day == 0)
return true;
if (conditionsD['MONDAY'])
if (today.day == 1)
return true;
if (conditionsD['TUESDAY'])
if (today.day == 2)
return true;

Parsing XML file & insert into Oracle Tables
Hi,
Following is a sample xml file which is an input for a oracle procedure :
<Sales ID="1" CreatedDate="16-Jan-2007" CreatedTime="16:09:40">
<Customer ID="1" Name="Scott" Address="City1">
<Order ID="1" Date="15-Jan-2007" TotItems="2" Value="200">
<Item ID="01" Name="Chocolate" Qty="2" Amount="80" />
<Item ID="03" Name="Biscuit" Qty="5" Amount="120" />
</Order>
</Customer>
<Customer ID="2" Name="Tiger" Address="City2">
<Order ID="1" Date="15-Jan-2007" TotItems="1" Value="500">
<Item ID="01" Name="Pizza" Qty="3" Amount="500" />
</Order>
</Customer>
<User ID="ABC" Name="TestUser" LastLogin="16-Jan-2007" />
<City Code="NY" Name="New York" />
<City Code="NJ" Name="New Jersy" />
</Sales>
I have individual tables for Sales, Customer, Order, Item, User & City tags with proper referential constraints. I have to parse the xml & have to insert the corresponsing tables for each & every tag if the ID in individual tag does not exists in the table. If the ID already exist, then, I have to update other attributes in the table for the corresponding ID.
Can anyone suggest me the simplest way to perform the above said scenario?Dera Michael,
Sorry for the confusing previous reply. I went through your solution again and tried for my XML File.
I have stored the XML File in table XXLF_DS_XML.Should I make use of the table in the below query.

Help for Parsing XML like HTML Document
I have documents that start with
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I want to process these documents with a XML Parser.Microsoft XML Parser works well with it.Can I use DOM parser in Java to process such kind of documents?
What Jar file I need to use to access such APIs?Yes, XHTML is XML so you can read it with any XML parser.
And Java already has XML parsers built in. You don't need any jar files. -
Parse XML document ,create table according to tags & load data to table
Hi All!
I have one of the most common problem, one faces when dealing with xml stuff and oracle.I get xml documents, with each file having different tags.I want to write a pl/sql procedure such that, the xml file is parsed, a table is created with the tag names becoming the column names and all the nodes' data get inserted into the table as rows.I am using oracle 10g.
I read a thread at the following url:
Parse XML and load into table
But did not get much of it.
Can anybody please tell me how to accomplish this.
Thanking in advance.

Download created XML File in batch mode // Parse XML file into single lines
Hello!
I upload a CSV file and based on that CSV file I create an XML "object". First I uploaded and downloaded it via gui frontendclass, but as it has to be run in a batch in the night I need to upload and download the data via OPEN DATASET.
The import and transformation of the CSV file works fine, also the transfer into an itab with the same structure as a CSV line is ok. I also create the XML file, which could be downloaded easily with gui-download but it is not permittet.
Import of data: I scan the folder and get the filenames into a itab, I loop over that itab and read the single files like this:
OPEN DATASET ls_convert_batch FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
CLEAR tab.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
DO.
READ DATASET ls_convert_batch INTO line.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
EXIT.
ELSE.
CLEAR tmptab.
SPLIT line AT ';' INTO tmptab-product
tmptab-contract
tmptab-extagent.
APPEND tmptab TO tab.
ENDIF.
ENDDO.
ENDIF.
The XML file has a strucutre like
<file>
- <file formant_no="1.1" format_date="02.10.2003">
<status>V</status>
<number>001001025</numbner>

<amount>130,00</amount>
</detail>
- </details>
<elements>2</elements>
<amount_overall>270</amount_overall>
</file>
At the moment I download it like this:
CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
EXPORTING
bin_filesize = l_xml_size
filename = filename
filetype = 'BIN'
* CONFIRM_OVERWRITE = '0'
CHANGING
data_tab = l_xml_table
EXCEPTIONS
OTHERS = 24.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
ELSEIF sy-subrc = 0.
lv_create_counter = lv_create_counter + 1.
ENDIF.
But I need to download it via OPEN TRANSFER CLOSE Dataset as it has to run in batch mode.
Anyone has an idea? I am really desperate here. One idea would be to parse the single lines into a string and then create the XML file line by line as text and save it with ending XML, should work. But I don't know how!
Thank you very much in advance,
kind regards from Tallinn, Estonia,
Christof!

ForEach Loop - Parsing XML subgroup into Variables
Hi all,I am designing a new ETL process using SSAS.
We have a controller package which receives an XML string at run time into a variable called BatchRequest :-
<Batch>
<Request>
<Name>Filemon</Name>
<Params>
<filepaths>
<Sourcepath>d:\temp</Sourcepath>
<Destpath>D:\temp2</Destpath>
<Archivename>\Archive</Archivename>
</filepaths>
</Params>
</Request>
</Batch>
The Batch can contain a number of Requests and a ForEach Loop is used to parse the text for the Name node and the text for the Params Node into variables RequestName and RequestParams respectively.
however, what I want to be able to do is to take the text for <name> into Requestname but take the entire XML sub string for <Params> into RequestParams.
At the moment I get the text only (e.g. d:\tempd:\temp2\Archive).
The Requestname is used by an XML task within the ForEach loop to retrieve full package path details from an external config file, and hence it only needs to be a keyword.
I played with the idea of including <Params> as a subnode for <Name>, only populating RequestName in the loop parser and then having an XML task which would parse the related parameter string, but i don't know how to tell the XML task that I
want the parameter string where the <Name> is Filemon (in this example).
Can anyone give me some suggestions or pointers?
Thanks
Iain

I have an XML file (loaded into a CLOB) which I need to parse and have each individual element and attribute inserted into an oracle table for manipulation.
Eg: XML File...
<PERSON>
<PER_ID changed="1">1</PER_ID>
<SURNAME changed="1">MARTIN</SURNAME>
<ADDRESS>
<STREET_NO changed="1">1</STREET_NO>
<POSTCODE changed="1">LE3 8RA</POSTCODE>
</ADDRESS>
</PERSON>
There will only ever be one address.
From this I need to extract
* PER_ID and related changed attribute
* SURNAME and related changed attribute
* STREET_NO and related changed attribute
* POSTCODE and related changed attribute
and insert a single record into the table below:
CREATE TABLE PERSON AS
( PER_ID VARCHAR2(10)
, ID_CHANGED VARCHAR2(1)
, SURNAME VARCHAR2(30)
, ID_CHANGED VARCHAR2(1)
, STREET_NO VARCHAR2(5)
, ID_CHANGED VARCHAR2(1)
, POSTCODE VARCHAR2(10) );
Any assistance/advice would be very much appreciated. I've tried using DBMS_XMLSave / DBMS_XMLStore which works great at pulling in elements (PER_ID, SURNAME, etc) straight into the table but doesn't look at the changed attributes, and I need both.
Thanks a million in advance to anyone who can crack this!!

Parse XML in a java stored proc
I am trying to parse an xml document in a java stored procedure. Just following my nose, I have developed a stored proc that works fine in development (outside the database using JRE 1.4.1) using the Xerces 2.5 parser. But, after having transferred the xerces xercesImpl.jar, xmlapis.jar, and my implementation class into oracle using loadjava when I call my stored proc the code throws an exception trying to build the document with an error like:
NoClassDef exception org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentFactoryBuilderImpl
My Code looks like this:
import java.io.IOException;
import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
import javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError;
import javax.xml.parsers.ParserConfigurationException;
import org.w3c.dom.Document;
import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
InputStream is = getXMLAsInputStream(xml);
try {
DocumentBuilderFactory factory =
DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
Document document = builder.parse( is );
... parse the document ....
catch (FactoryConfigurationError e) {
// unable to get a document builder factory
The exception caught is a FactoryConfigurtionError.
I'm not particularly attached to xerces, I'm really just looking for a way to parse XML inside my java stored proc, so any help to solve my problem, or an alternative suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
DaleI looked again and sure enough the xerces implementation classes were missing. I had run a .cmd file containing these two lines, but it looks like only the first one ran...
loadjava -u ncc/xyz@usd -v -r M:\Database\JavaGeocode\Xerces2_5_0\xml-apis.jar
loadjava -u ncc/xyz@usd -v -r M:\Database\JavaGeocode\Xerces2_5_0\xercesImpl.jar
Now I've got everything working fine with Xerces!

How to compare after parsing xml file
Hi,
following code, parse the input.xml file, counts how many nodes are there and writes the node name and its value on screen.
1) i am having trouble writing only node name into another file instead of writing to screen.
2) after parsing, i like to compare each node name with another .xsd file for existence.
Please keep in mind that, input.xml is based on some other .xsd and after parsing i have comparing its tag with another .xsd
Need you help guys.
thanks

Hope for a kind reply :)Hi,
Why would you like to parse the XML inside a JSP page? JSP are for rendering and not for parsing XML. The code to parse the XML should be put in an ordinary Java class instead.
Parsing XML can be done in a number of ways...it all depends on what you want to do with the XML. Are you looking for XML -> Java Object then maybe you should look at XStream or JAXB.
If you can tell me a little more about your use case maybe I can help you a little bit more.

How to get and parse xml input parameter?
Hi,
If one transaction input parameter is xml string, like as below.
<a>
<b>
<c>1</c>
<d>2</d>
</b>
<b>
<c>3</c>
<d>4</d>
</b>
</a>
If I would like to get each element (maybe by repeater action), how to do that?
Thanks!Hi,
You must convert the string into xml with necessary action block. (XML Functions --> String to XML Parser)
Then you must put a repeater after converter action and you must set Xpath expression for repeater (configuration) like below:
String_To_XML_Parser_0.Output{/ARef/BRef}
after repeater you can use values like below:
Repeater.Output{/BRef/c}
Repeater.Output{/BRef/d}
