Having trouble passing a parameter through a button, php

Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and to web design and Dreamweaver, please go a little easy on me!
I'm currently in the process of making a fantasy football website in Dreamweaver and phpmyadmin. When a user visits the site and wants to enter the competition they click register which brings up the register page. There they can fill out the form containing details username, password etc. When they click the register button at the bottom of the form their details are put into the users table in the database and they are passed onto the next page where they are asked to pick their team. The team details are kept in a seperate table in the database.
What i'm trying to do is pass the username that is created in the register form to the pick team page as a parameter.
Currently the code for my button is as follows:
<input type="submit" value="Insert record" />
and the sql for after insert goto is currently?
$insertGoTo = "pickteam.php";
In another section of the site i have passed a parameter with a link as follows:
<a href="editgoalkeeper.php?gkid_gk=<?php echo $row_rs_viewgks['gkid_gk'];?>">
but i'm not sure how to pass a parameter using a submit button, can anyone help me please?

Please pardon my ignorance, i'm still very new to web development and Dreamweaver.
Please could you give me an example of how i would go about coding the above?

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

Hi all, Since I updated to Mavericks I am having trouble with Safari showing all the buttons/clickable options, but they are gray and will not work. Specifically, the Trash Can/Delete and the "Move to" folder button simply do not work. Any ideas?

A couple of suggestions.
Go to settings, and take a look at how many mesages you are set for. When you get that number, the pad will start deleting older messages as new ones arrive.
If you are using a pop account, the older messages will still be on your main computer, if you have not deleted them. Look there.
If you are on an i map account, set up some subfolders for your key items. I believe that storage is permanant and is more easily searchable.

Having trouble passing a getter method in a PreparedStatement

Basically I've got it so that the user fills in their name, dob etc and when they click on register it inserts their information in a registrations table. However, I'm having trouble getting this working (NullPointerException) so any help would be greatly appreciated :)

so any help would be magnificent.Write a class that accepts the values that you want to insert. I would suggest passing an ArrayList. It opens the connection, does the insert, closes the statement and the connection.
It does NOT have any GUI code in it.
You then debug that class and verify it works.
THEN, after you have verified it works, you write ANOTHER class that does the gui. It uses the class above to do the database work.

Passing query parameter through xcelsius 2011 at run time

I am using reporting service as a web connectivity and I am trying to pass the query parameter at run time from the dashboard. While executing the xcelsius at first time it is working well with the default value but after passing the parameter from combo box, the data is not loading. It is not returning anything except the field name.
I am new to this xcelsius. Your help will be really appreciated.

First select Data in menubar>Connection->select required connection>select the useage option in connection definition window>give trigger cell value as combo box destination cell.

Having trouble opening files & folders through file open .

We have three Macs, 1 new Mac Pro w/ 2 hard drives (OS 10.5) and 2 G4's (OS 10.4), we use the Mac Pro to store all the customers files and the other two Macs work off the Mac Pro through our company network. The one G4 has no problem but the other G4 has problems opening files/folder through file-open in programs. If you go to file open and open a folder instead of opening up it toggles down into a list so you can never get to the file you want to open or save a file in the correct folder. Please help!

I started having the exact same problem yesterday. It has happened to me a little less than 2 years ago on this same machine (which was very new at the time). I was hoping to come here and find an easier solution than I resorted to in the past. Before I had to completely reformat my computer to get it to work properly again.
For me, the first time this problem happened was when I was working on a job that is stored on our company server. The server went down while the file was open and I was kicked off and everything locked up. When I tried to get out of the file nothing happened and I had to force quit. When it got back up, I logged back onto the server and everything seemed fine until trying to open, save as or place a file. Then I see what you see, open a folder and rather than going inside the folder, I get the turn down arrow or I just see the same list of folders and cannot get into the final folder where the art resides that I wish to place (or attach in an email, etc.)
I don't know how it happened yesterday. It could have actually happened on Friday night. Our company runs 3 shifts and it may have happened on 2nd shift Friday night or on 3rd shift Sunday night / Monday morning. I discovered it yesterday afternoon.
If anyone has a better solution than reformatting, that would be GREAT! I have done the disk utility checking and fixing permissions and that didn't work the first time or today either. Thanks for any info!

Having trouble signing into Story through Premiere Pro CC

I'm having an issue signing into Story through Premiere Pro. I'd like to attach a transcript saved on story to a clip in premiere pro to be able to eventually use speech analysis. And the tutorials online suggested going to window and opening adobe story panel. Once I do that, I'm prompted to sign in with my adobe account, but my adobe email and password combination gives me an error message: The password you entered does not match your Adobe ID.
Does anyone know a solution or work around to this? It seems like it should be so straightforward...

Ah. Hmmm. I am an Android user and Premiere Pro likes my video just fine.
Is there a way to convert the iPhone video to constant fps, or is there a setting that records it that way?
Edit: if somebody would send me a link to some iPhone 5 video that I could download and mess around with, I would appreciate it.
Edit: Couldn't Quicktime be used to convert it to a contant frame rate?

Having trouble passing form values to a data action in 10G

I have a view object that queries the hr.departments table. In the app module, I created a custom method to bind a paramter to the query. I am able to make this work only if I manually enter a value for the paramsNames[0] value for the dataaction. When I run it with say the value of 1700, it returns the correct data (I run this by right-click and run on the dataaction that binds the valule).
What I want to do now is have a form on a jsp that looks like the following:

.. pass the "locationid" value to the bindDeptLoc dataction for the binding. I noticed that J-Dev automatically created a default form bean called DataForm. I tried to add a form-property with the name of the form field (locationid), but that didn't work. I then tried to create another form bean called login and added the locationid form property to it and associated the form bean with the dataaction).
When I run this I get the following error:
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot find ActionMappings or ActionFormBeans collection

In the paramsNames[0] node instead of your fixed value use param.locationid which is the indicator to use the value from that field in the JSP.

Having troubles passing values of Shuttle control to SQL Query of Report and Chart Region

I am very new to APEX and need help for one of the Pa.I have a shuttle control on my page which populates Categories. Once user selects Categories from this control, I wish to pass the values to following SQL query :
select * from emp_class where category IN ( LIST of VALUES FROM RIGHT SIDE SHUTTLE).
I tried various ways of doing this including writing a java scripts which reads shuttle value, converts it into below string
'Category1',Category2',Category3'. Then I set this value to a text box. And then I was expecting that below trcik would work
select * from emp_class where category IN (:TXT_VALUES)
I am sure this is not right way and hence its not working. Can you please guide me here with options?

This is a common fallacy. In
select * from table where columnvalue in (7788, 7839, 7876)
(7788, 7839, 7876) is an expression list and the predicate is evaluated as a membership condition.
In
select * from table where columnvalue in :P1_X
:P1_X is a scalar string, incapable of containing multiple values.
In an APEX standard report, a PL/SQL function body returning an SQL query report source with lexical substitution can be used to produce a "varying IN-list":
return 'select * from table where columnvalue in (' || :P1_X || ')';
where P1_X contains fewer than 1000 values, has been sanitized for SQL injection, and string values are properly quoted.
Some people suggest the following approach, which will also work in APEX interactive reports:
select * from table where instr(':' || :P1_X || ':', ':' || columnvalue || ':') > 0
However this is non-performant as it eliminates the possibility of the optimizer using indexes or partition pruning in the execution plan.

Having Trouble Closing a JFrame With a Button Click in Swing

I am brand new to Java so this is probably something really stupid.
On my main form I have a table displaying records from a database. When you double click a record, it pops up a second form showing the details of that record. You can then edit the data in this second form and click a "save" button which saves the data to the database. I want this button to also close that second form, however in the button click event, the second form variable is null.
Here is some code showing the basic concept:

That handles the NullPointer, but still doesn't close my second Frame. The editDetailFrame should not be null at this point as I am clicking a button on the editDetailFram itself so I think the problem is that I just don't have a reference to the actual object at that point and my variable is just an empty one.

Having trouble passing values between methods

So I got two methods that return a value (getHour() and getMinute(). The values that are returned I am tring to pass into showTime. However it doesn't seem to work as all I get is zero's.

Hi,pls compare ur coding with the one i have posted below. In your code, the variables sH and sM are still in initialised state(value =0) and its not assigned with the values returned by getHour and getMinute methods. This is why the shoTime method returned zero. Hope i helped you.

Still having trouble passing variables

So, I read some on the MVC as my problem in my previous post
was trying to pass variables between classes in the same package.
I've got three classes, ListLoader, SectionPanel and TagWidget...
MVC respectively. Or at least I think I've set them up that way.
ListLoader is responsible for querying the db via PHP when
TagWidget asks it to and then supplies a string variable. I'm
trying to get TagWidget to pass that variable to the
viewer/SectionPanel to display in a textfield but can't seem to get
ListLoader to reflect that. Now, the problem is in how I've
formatted ListLoader, I believe so I'll only show that class and
just know that TagWidget is calling the variable using
"trace(loadFTPList.fulllist);" where loadFTPList is the instance
name of ListLoader. What am I doing wrong?

Pass a parameter through hyperlink

I have two reports (A and B)with .pdf format. (no problem with individual)
A report:employee names are listed by department. Here is employee_ID field
B report:show all information by parameter emplyee_ID
I want to do;
If I click employee_id(007) in A report with .pdf file format, pop up B report .pdf file based on employee_id: 007
I use hyperlink in the employee_id property, it does not work completely. B report pops up but there is no information based employee_id:007.
I think that I miss use of the hyperlink with parameter(employee_id).

Passing a parameter through user exit

Hi all,
I am adding a screen to the user exit ZXHIV01 and want the user to fill the organizational detail area on this screen.
However, I cannot get the value of the organizational code (OBJID) from the previous screen (1000 create).
I have tried GET/SET parameters but it did not work.
Should I do something different while editing a user exit?
