Height of webpage
Is there a way to override the 4000 px max height of a page?
Have you tried dragging an empty text box downward to see if it will drive the page's footer beyond the 4000 pixel limit?

Htmlloader flash content blank popup max OSX
Ok this is driving me crazy if anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate the help. I have a flex app that loads some external pages with an htmlloader. Whenever there is flash content on those pages a blank (all white with minimize, maximize, close buttons) popup window comes up. This happens on any page with flash content, if I close the window the flash content stops. I feel like that didn't always happen but I can't remember, does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks for any help you can give.

</mx:Canvas>by default, flash starts playing and will stop only if there's code to stop it OR there's not enough of the swf downloaded to allow it to play.
in the later case, using a preloader with preloader animation in frame 1 will solve the problem. -
I am using a panel on the web form to hold some more hidden panels onto it.
But when I am making those hidden panel visible panel size remains same and footer goes down and page looks ugly then.
How to maintain size of panel as well as footer w.r.t. it?

KGProgrammerSplit your unvisible DIV (for example) to 2 parts, one visible and one unvisible.
In the visible part put onlu a space, and make it the height of the unvisible part.
That way, the page will look the same with the uv=nvisivle part and without it.

Dreamweaver does not link any images or styling to my webpage
Hi,
I have been creating a webpage and have moved images from one folder to another and now the website will not display any images or styling. I have moved all the content back and it still doesn't show. I have created a completely new website with new images and styling and even now it still doesn't link the images to the "live view" (or when I open it in a browser). What have I messed up?

There's a whole bunch of code there but not much in the way of explanation as to what you are trying to achieve. It might make perfect sense to you now but try going back to it in a year and see if you can untangle it's purpose.
Thirdly, is there a specific reason why you've chosen to manually generate a report in PL/SQL, rather than delegating it to a report region? I understand that for particular formatting requirements (denormalised data, cells-within-cells etc), it is occasionally necessary to go to these lengths but I can't help but feeling a well-written query could simplify a lot of this, particularly the references multiple cursors. -
What html code will start an EXE (program) with a click on a webpage link?
The code in bold below worked. After I switched my browser from IE 11 to Firefox to get the hover on hotspots to work, the program gave me this error message. I moved the EXE file to my local file folder and tried it as shown below. Still no success. Any suggestions?

However, you will still have problems with getting it to work cross-browser. Honestly, browsers are not supposed to have access like that to the client side file system, which absolutely makes sense for the web.
That is why you may have to approach the solution from a different angle - perhaps create a server side cloud version of your application(s) which can be easily accessed and run by your family members. I believe you used C to develop the applications? Although I have no experience with this framework, Wt might be a solution to convert your projects to server side applications:

My Flash Video is not working in my webpage
Could you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have dreamweaver CS3
I did use the Media option to insert the Flash Video content in my web page. When viewed in dreamweaver design window I can see the box, if I try to preview it http://www.stmarksavalon.org.au/public_html/pages/resources/TMPdwowk3qayn.php displays a 404 error.
I did upload to the host the .php and related files and try different browsers and does not display even the white space where the video means to appear
The original video format was MP4 I did converted it to FLV using the free software at www.dvdvideosoft.com
I did upload the encoded Flash Video (FLV) and the related files and the webpage

That means. your *.flv-file is in your DW, ok, BUT, ist it on your server?
And are you really sure, that you did all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
Create a really new subdirectory (not absolutely necessary, only to see/control the steps).
Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
width 640 ( it's my choice)
height 480 ( it's my choice)
I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):

How can I make the webpage display the same on different sized screens?
I have made a webpage, but it appears differently in different resolutions. I am in 1920x1080 and it appears fine on my screen, but anything smaller than that, the text is zoomed in more and it is not central.

APDivs as a primary layout method seldom works well. Here is why:

Don't use positioning. You don't need it except in very rare situations. APDivs are removed from the normal document flow, so centering them is impossible unless you wrap them all inside a relative positioned parent element.
Best advice, start over with one of the centered, fixed-width layouts that comes with Dreamwever.
Go to File > New > Blank page > HTML > Layouts (choose one from the right side panel). Hit Create button.
Use CSS floats, margins & padding to align elements.
Btw, I am not too good with coding/css
That's a shame. You should get up to speed with code basics soon otherwise DW will continue to frustrate you.

How do I convert my GUI java app to be an applet or display it on a webpage
I have created a loan calculator program in netbeans, I got the application to run fine but now I want to add it into a html page.
I'm just looking for a place to start, I just don't know where to go from here, I want to know if I can actually convert my app with a few changes to an applet or if any one can point me to a forum of similar interest or tutorials that explain what I'm looking for.
I don't even know what i'm looking for except i want this program to run on a webpage.
Or is there a way to run my .jar file on a webpage??
My teacher has not taught us anything on this matter except the below code suggestions on converting and my program is more extensive than her examples for converting. This is what she briefly described on this subject.
1.To convert an application to an applet the main differences are: import java.awt.Graphics; import javax.swing.JApplet; import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
Extend JApplet Replace main with public void init() method
Output with public void paint( Graphics g ) method
2. Remove calls to setSize, setTitle, pack, and any window listener calls, e.g., setDefaultCloseOperation. Compile the program---if something doesn't compile just comment it out for now.

If so, the first thing you should do would be to re-write this so that it extends JPanel which shouldn't be that hard to do (at least it's not hard to do if you know a little Swing -- but I worry about someone coming into this from the netbeans-generated code world). If you've done this correctly, then using your JPanel in a JFrame is trivial: in a main method create a JFrame, and then simply add your JPanel to the JFrame's contentPane and display it. Likewise using your JPanel in a JApplet is just as trivial as you'd do essentially the same thing: add your JPanel to the JApplet's contentPane, but this time do it in the JApplet's init method. -
Bootstrap, height of edge animation and others div content in the page- overlay issue
I’ve a problem with the position others div tags in a page with a edge animation in the top (in the below example, div “box-animation”… export it with “publish target: Web”).
The static content (in the below example, class “content-static”) is always overlay to the animation, instead to view it below div “box-animation”.
The first solution is to set an height for edge animation container (for example, #box-animation height: 500px) but its very complicate to manage it with responsive website.
So, how to view the static content in a div tag after an animation create with edge animate, to avoid overlay effect?
This my first animation with Edge Animate and I always thought that the animation would have been placed in the html order of the webpage...

Webpage looks good with tranparent boxes and photo background in live view but not in browsers
If anyone has time to help I would be very grateful. I am new to dreamweaver and am trying to make a webpage with transparent colums and boxed text using styles. It looks perfect in "live view" but when I look at it in any browser all formatting is gone. It looks like the background with text on top layed out wrapped across the entire page. I have not been able to figure out what is wrong in days of searching. Does anyone know the answer?
This first the format I want and is what it looks like in Live View, the second is what it looks like in most browsers.

<h3>What does NBCS Do?</h3>
<p>Since 2004 The Narragansett Bay Coyote Study (NBCS) has been developing science-based coexistence and management strategies for our newest top predator. Coyotes, originally a prairie species, have successfully colonized all parts of the continental and nearshore us in the past 100 years. They reached the islands of Narragansett Bay in the mid-1990s. Since then coyotes have become increasingly abundant and problematic in some island communities.</p>
<p>In our history of cohabitation with coyotes people consistently tried to eliminate them by hunting, trapping, and poisoning. Lethal removal worked for individual problem animals but did not work as a population control strategy. Why? Coyotes have intrinsic physiological and behavioral abilities to control their own numbers. If coyotes are removed they increase reproduction and numbers rapidly rebound. The critical population regulation trigger is competition for food. As long as coyotes are well fed (with few coyotes competing for food) their populations will grow. </p>
<p>It is also known that opposite effect occurs if coyotes if coyotes are stressed by competition for food. If there are too many coyotes competing for the food available coyotes will drop the the level sustainable by those resources.</p>
<p>Understanding this relationship, NBCS scientists decided to study the resource use of coyotes on two islands in Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. We used GPS tracking collars to find out where the coyotes were spending thier time. We theorized that if we could identify important coyote food resources - and control them - the coyotes would bring their own numbers down. NBCS calls this "passive coyote management."</p>
<p> Since 2005 when we trapped and collared our first island coyotes we have continually found that the most important food resources to our study are provided by people. That means they are within our control That means we can control coyotes. If we remove anthropogenic resources (human subsidies) coyote numbers will drop to the level sustainable by natural resources. When coyotes are sustained only by natural prey (mice, woodchucks, rabbits, geese, and deer) coyotes numbers will be lower and they will provide helpful pest control services. </p>
<p>Based our scientific data NBCS generated a set of <a href="coyotes/Best Management Practices for Coexistence with Coyotes - Nov 8 2010.pdf" target="_new">Best Management Practices for Coexistence with Coyotes</a>- basically a toolbox for safe, sustainable, community coyote management. We are working with the towns in our study area to adopt the CBMPs and be the first community in the nation to successfully and sustainably manage coyotes. We also believe other cities and towns might be able to use our results as a template if they are experiencing coyote problems. We have only just begun to implement the CBMPs on our islands. We hope in the near future to have all our towns implementing the CBMPs - only then will we see the full impacts they make on coyote numbers and behavioral problems. Those format commands seem to be the one it is ignoring. I am not familiar with html but I see that the href command is what identifies the path to the file I call TCAStyles. I notice that dw puts all my files in a local public file and the structure is different - with no public file - at the site.
I am not sure what the 2 dots in the href command mean - there is not a full path. Is this command valid? I will try to look into the directory structure on local and remote site and will check for files. -

I want to insert a video in windows media player on my webpage. (actually I want to insert 3 on the 1 page, but to start with, I'll be happy with 1!)
Dreamweaver says that it doesnt recognise the file type, and the dreamweaver help is pretty bad on this topic.

BaxFlash Video is the gold standard used on YouTube, FaceBook, MySpace and other video sharing sites now. DW makes it easy to insert Flash Video but tougher for other file types.

DreamWeaver Template change not updating children webpages?
Hi Group,
Sorry for my newbie question here.
I loaded an HTML webpage, and saved it out as a DreamWeaver Template file.
I then created webpages from the template file (( File - New - Page From Template - Site - Template), and made sure that the "Update Page when Template Changes" check box was selected/checked.
I then created several chldren webpages, and saved them as .html files.
I decided to change the navbar system - part of the uneditiabel region in the template - by opening the template file and edit-ing that file, and then saving it as the same DreamWeaver template file.
However, the webpages did Not Update to reflect the navbar changes in the template fle !??!???
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I believe it is something that I'm doing incorrectly with DreamWeaver ..

No -I haven't been able to get the DW Template feature to work on other sites - this is my first application of it to a website (actually it's the whole reason for getting DreamWeaver... I know it works, I know that I'm doing something wrong.. I just don't know what it is...)
All the .HTML files (index.html, cad.html, cam.html, etc. etc.) are in the website's root directory.
The Template file is in its own sub-directory folder named "Templates".
Right now even the .css file is in the root directory....

Webpage not displaying correctly in IE 7 - 8, works fine in FF and Chrome
Hi all
I'm having a real headscratcher with this problem, I have only been partially involved in creating our new webpage, and the only problem left unsolved is this issue with Internet Explorer. I'm enclosing a screenshot of first Firefox and then IE 8.
As you can see the menu is shifted downwards, this problem seems to get worse on the following pages.

The screen size is too small on the webpage created by QTSS publisher
Hello,
I published a video file using QTSS publisher.
I'm using "Publish media to Quick Time Streaming Server (instant-on) and Webpage action "Auto-play in Web page".
The screen size is fine when playing via the streaming link but when I create an actual webpage using QTSS publisher and dropping the movie file to that webpage, the screen size is extremely small while playing. Is there a way to make the playing screen size bigger in the webpage?
