Maybe It is a simple question for you.But it really trouble
me.How to store an array into session variable and how to retrive it out from sesson,

The session is exactly like the request except that it spans multiple requests.

Jsp newbie, please help about @include

I am new to JSP.
I have two jsp files, say , jsp1 and jsp2.
JSP2 is perfectly working. I want to display the result of jsp2 with the result of jsp1.
But I additionally want to supply a value from jsp1 to a variable in jsp2 before calling jsp2.
The result of jsp2 depends on the value supplied.
I couldn't figure out how to do this. A simple @include directive like
<%@ include file="jsp2.jsp" %> doesn't seem to be suitable here.
What options are available here? Please help.

Why the jsp fails when I include the same JSP page twice in another jsp page?
Of the following two jsp files, the upper one is OK, but the lower one complains that it cannot compile (org.apache.jasper.JasperException).

I want to populate the cells of an HTML table with the results from the same jsp file, by supplying different values to a variable in the jsp file so that its results will be different for each cell. Am I being to foolish here?

Help creating an array from a list of vector item

I am writing a Email Handling class that uses an Email class that I have already written. The spec requires me to (A.) Create a DisplayEmail(Email[] e) method that takes and array of email messages and displays them in the terminal window. And then (B) to create some retrieval methods ie: Email [] RetrieveSubject(String searchValue) which "will allow me to retrieve objects from the data structure created in (A.)and sorts them.
I wonder if you could give my some advice on how to implement this? I have used a Vector to store the emails. Here is what I have so far. . From what I understand I am suppose to create array methods for all of these tasks. Don't know where to begin, can u help please. I've created a vector to store the emails, but I am not sure about the array method bit. As you can see all of my methods are standard and I think they need to be arrays. Please Help

What role can ejb Session Beans play jsp session tracking

          I am also looking for a way to use JSP as ejb client with WLS5.1. i would appreciate any help.

How to get the values of an Array using JSP Tags

Hey guys,
I need some help. I've splited a String using
fn:split(String, delim) where String = "1,2,3,4" and delim is ,
This method returns an Array of splited Strings. how do i get the values from this array using jsp tags. I don't wanna put java code to achive that.

The JSTL forEach tag.
In fact if all you want to do is iterate over the comma separated list, the forEach tag supports that without having to use the split function.
<c:set var="list" value="1,2,3,4"/>
<c:forEach var="num" items="${list}">
<c:out value="${num}"/>
</c:forEach>The c:forTokens method will let you do this with delimiters other than a comma, but the forEach tag works well just with the comma-delimited string.

How to use session variable in JSP function & How to use both JSP Servlet

I am new to JSP and servlets
Still I am devloping a website in JSP. I am not mixing JSP with servlets, but I do create Java files for bean, logic and database works.
I try to keep the hard coding part out of JSP.
I dont how to use both JSP and Servlets in combination.
Hence If needed I write some functions in JSP.
but it gives me error

Depends. You can create a javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionListener implementation and register it in the web.xml file (I forget the syntax, though), which can notify you of sessions being created and destroyed.
Or you can create a javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionBindingListener implementation and add it to the session (setAttribute()) and it'll have it's valueUnbound method called when the session expires (or the attribute is removed, but if you don't remove it, the session invalidating will). That's a good place for session-specific clean-up.

Problem accessing session variable from jsp

I get an error retrieving a session variable from inside a JSP declaration scriptlet....
Something like this code in a JSP page:

%>I have seen that I have available getContextServer() method and from there I could call getAttribute("parameter1") . But the thing is that the attribute I want to retrieve was stored in session by another Jsp page.
Any solutions are welcome

Appropriately the above is one the reasons also You cannot use JSP implicit objects from the declaration tag. However we can think of a small workaround by passing the reference like the one discussed below

I tried ArrayExampla.java and was successful in passing array values to the stored database procedure.
How can I use this class in JSP? Like I have first JSP where in I will collect input from the user and then submit it to the second JSP - that needs to call the ArrayExample.java to pass the values as array to the database.
How should I call this java code in my second JSP?

Calling Session Beans in JSP ?

Hi Folks,
I am new to EJB3, I am doing simple applicatuions.
Can any one please tell me how to call session beans in jsp page.
for example my case is.. iam entering two diffrent data, lets say user name and password in jsp page and this should go in data base thru JPA (entity beans)
Iam able to enter data from JPA in data base but if the same i have to fetch from JSP page.. iam not getting..!
I would really appretiate for your help i need it urgent...!

Not. You can, technically, but you shouldn't. JSP should be for display purposes only, containing no Java code whatsoever.

Same way you insert them. Of course JPA entities are distinctly different from entity beans. The very concept of entity beans no longer exists in the context of JPA, it's solely used to mean EJB 2.1 or earlier entity beans.

Assigning javascript array with jsp array

hi,
I have a jsp page where I have a array in jsp. I want to assign the values to an javascipt array. how can I do that?
the reason why I want to do this is for a perticular problem I am facing in javascript. that is....
I have a text box in my jsp page, I want the value entered in that box to be checked (whether it exists ) against a hidden string which has some value. I want that hidden string not to be shown to the user even on seeing the html source. that is why I want these values to be stored and checked against a array object of javascript.

if you dont mind of viewing code u can use this else dont use, its not matters weatehr user will see you code or not if the user is professiona then its a big issue normal users not think of is for this dont send valuable infos like password etc to client u may send usernames
ok to create a java array to javascript array do this (i took example of db to array ) write this inside <script> <%codes here%> </script>

Session tracking in JSP pages

I've two pages in my web application which need regular refresh after a particular interval.I'm using
(session.setMaxInactiveTime) to check the session validation.& HTML's <META> tag to regularly refresh the page after particular interval.
On these two pages there are links to the different pages for which i'm opening a new window.
But i'm losing the session after some time & i'm not able to catch the source from where the session is getting invalidated.even when i'm using meta tag of html to refresh the page.
I'm also using HttpSessionEventListener Interface to know when the session.putValue & session.removeValue
functions are used.
I hope the problem is clear to you people.
an urgent help/suggestion will be appreciated.

it isn't easy see your problem. When you losing your session? When you hava open a link from your page i a new browser window (instance) and return?
Also check follow: when no validate session exist, a jsp open a new session, else you use <%@ page session="false" %>

Session Maintenance in JSp-- Servlet-- JSP

Iam making a browser based Financial Aplication so I want to introduce sessions into it.
My First page is a JSP which takes username and Password. Then it calls a servlet.
So my Problems are-
1. Iam able to start session from servlet (which validates username and password) but after that in the apllication some JSp's are there like for search options so how to maintain sessions in JSP's ?
2. When user quits browser and then opening a browser and directly types a JSP page which is in-between the flow this JSP opens up whereas i want the user to go from starting as its a security loop hole.
So how to maintain a session in a JSP (ie when control passes from Servlet to JSP at that time)?

There is a solution .I think while validating the login page entries u should maintain a session variable and give it some constant value if the entered values are valid.And now u should always check this sesson variable for that constant value [ if(session.getParameter("s")==constvalue) ] only then u proceed further else diaplay an error message or link prompting to login

I am quite sure the task name and task type is correct. The task name is same as the one I saw in runtime repository schema -> table WB_RT_TASKS -> column TASK_NAME
, but I am very doubt about what should be the correct input for LOCATION, system parameter and custom parameter.
Can anyone give some help about where could I find the correct input for those parameter?
