Help creating an instance of an internal JPanel method?
I hope my terminology for this question is correct but I will describe my problem also.
I have several class files but the 2 classes relating to my problem are Main.java and MapNavigation.java
Main.java is my application JFrame to which I add other JPanels.
I would like to add an internal JPanel method from MapNavigation.java to main but do not know how to reference it?
How would I reference the JPanel method in MapNavigation in order to add it to my GUI in Main?
public class MapNavigation
public class ControlPanel extends JPanel implements ActionListener
public ControlPanel()
class Main extends JFrame
public Main()
// I wan't to add ControlPanel from MapNavigation.java here!
}Thanks in advance
I'm very new to java and still have limited knowledge, all of your help is very much appreciated.
Dave
Hi, I tried your suggestion but I get the error:
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Desktop\src>javac Main.java
Main.java:20: cannot find symbol
symbol : class MapNavigation
location: class MapNavigation
MapNavigation.ControlPanel MNCPanel = mapNavigation.new MapNavigation();
^
1 error
what would you suggest to be a better method to my problem as I'm using MapNavigation as a class that extends ViewPlatformAWTBehavior for the controls of my application so therefore cannot add the class directly to my GUI and therefore have to add a method contained in the class.
Thanks in advance
Dave

HELP Create Extenstion using JFrame instead of JPanel (10.1.3 Release 3)
Hi,
I manage to create a custom GUI editor in JDev but if i switch it to JFrame, JDev GUI Designer display nothing but an invinsible frame.
I'm using sample from customeditor in extension sdk
Any ideas ?
ThanksIt seems that you are trying to use a JFrame as the GUI of your custom editor. The JFrame is a heavy weight component (has a real window behind it). In JDeveloper custom editors must not use JFrames or AWT Frames as their root GUIs. The windows of these frames will paint on top of other editors even if they are behind in the component stacking order.

Help while creating ASM instance on rac environment on Linux
Help while creating ASM instance on rac environment on Oracle enterprise Linux 4 x84_64 Update 5 (10g2).
a) Installed ASMLib 2.0 Packages
b) Configured and Loaded the ASMLib 2.0 Packages
c) Created ASM Disks for Oracle
d) I can see, three volumes already defined for ASM file system.
By running following command (on both node), I get following that means disk are detected.
/etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks
VOL1
VOL2
VOL3
But Disk members not displayed for creating disk groups. I even tried to "Change Disk Discovery Path" button and put "ORCL:VOL*" but still no luck.
Someone told me use, use ADD DISKS button but this button is disabled for me.
Can anyone, please help me if I missing something.*****SOLVED******
Thanks for reply..
I set the Change Disk Discovery Path" to /dev/oracleasm/disk/* instead of "ORCL:VOL* and this worked for me. -
HELP-DIALOG POP UP BOX-JAVA Cannot create XMLHTTP instance.
After going to a Web site with Opera Browser, I get the following dialog box JAVA "Cannot create xmlhttp instance".
Now it pops up when ever I use Opera, but not Internt Exployer. Can you tell a Newbie how to fix it?
I uninstalled Java 1.4.2 & installed ( jre 1.5.0.05 ) and I still get the
same Dialog Box. The Box stops me from using Opera Browser,
because it reappears all the time. I NEED HELP. My OS is XP Home.
PM me at( trader_zzzz, yahoo.com ). Thanks in advance, traderzzzz.Java is not involved in the error - Javascript is. Javascript is not Java, and except for the similar name, they have nothing in common. The problem is the way that Opera is interacting with Javascript and the webpage you visited. You probably want to look for the solution at Opera's website. This search listing may help:

Cant able to create new instance on app.server ?
The configuration files for this Oracle Application Server instance are inconsistent with the
configuration stored in the repository. In order to protect the repository,
Hi ,
we are having oracle-app.server version :10.1.2.0.2
since this evening when we are trying to create the instance it throws the below error.
i tried dcmctl update confg also but there also this same error. need ur help.
no further configuration or deployment operations are allowed until the problem with the configuration on the filesystem is resolved. This condition arises when a prior operation was unsuccessful. The exception associated with this failed operation is:
{0}
. Please also check the logs located at
ORACLE_HOME/dcm/logs to determine why DCM was unsuccessful in updating
the configuration files on disk. Some possible causes are:
* permissions on files
* file contention issues on Windows NT
* internal Oracle error
After resolving the problem that prevented DCM from updating the configuration
files, you may use the dcmctl resyncInstance command to resolve the problem.
Alternatively, you can stop and then restart the active dcmctl or EMD
process and resyncInstance will automatically be performed.
Thanks..Go to
http://download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Partition-Master-Free-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html and download the Partition Magic utility.
This problem is caused by Windows not recognizing the Ubuntu partitions. Windows is not designed to work with foreign partitions so this problem is caused by Ubuntu.

Could you please help me? I have search through the forum but I couldn't find anything that solves my problem. As I've read in this post (https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=10596716), I've tried to set the value of the variable bpel.config.transaction to requiresNew instead of required but it isn't working.
I suppose it has to do with the new version of the server but I can't find anything to solve it :(
Thank you in advance!!! I hope you can help me!
Best regards.Frank,
I tried to follow the example. This is the file: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_53/labs/restsolution.zip
The other part of the exercise is to develop an ADF Client.
At "Step 5: Create the Model Components" when I create the URL_Get the error appears and don't create the datacontrol.
I check the links and RESTConn and are OK.
I hope this helps.

-------------------------------------------------------------------Hi Krishna,
Thanks for the link.
looks like the same way I installed. I think there is something else I am missing. I guess this is causing because of the oracle instance creation for BI services. Please let me know, if you have any more information on the same. -
On a linux box i try to create a new oracle instance using svrmgr. I did the following
svrmgr
SVRMGR> connect internal
Connected.
SVRMGR> startup nomount pfile = "myinit.ora"
I get the following message
ORA-00445: background process "PMON" did not start after 120 seconds
The ini file is genrated using dbassist and works fine on nt.
I haven't been able to create any instance on this computer.
nullWhat version of EM are you using?
Are there any deployment errors when you deploy the plugin?
The Agent page (with the "Add" dropdown) can have a caching issue. Try to reload the page and logout/login to EM console then look for your new plugin target type in the dropdown.
You can also use the command line interface "emcli add_target ..." (do "emcli help add_target" to see usage/examples). -

Service desk error creating support message "help- create support message"
Hi
I'm customizing SM 7.0 SP Stack 15 service desk scenario. I'm in a VAR SAP, so It's a mandatory scenario.
I've done all basic settings from General Settings, Connection to SAP, Online Documentation, ...,
Business Partners, iBase, Basic BC-Sets for Configuration, Number Ranges. After them , for Scenario-Specific Settings-> Service Desk->Service Provider I've done all these steps. At SAP System Solution Manager, I've created solutions at dswp transaction and EW Alert are centralized these steps works. Transaction notif_create works and iBase are well mantained.
The problem is when I try create a support message from satellite SAP system. I logged With a SAP user which is BP, key user and has authorizations in a satellite system and I choose help->create support message, so a pop-up appears and I fill the fields, and I press button (Save/Send). An error appears:
Error in Local Message System: Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible. Message was Not Created
In order solve the error I review:
- The satellite SAP system is at the iBase installed components.
- I've Assign Number Range for ABA notifications at SLF1 transaction.
- I've Checked number range for Service Desk Message at SLFN transaction.
- I've configured ABA Message transaction DNO_CUST01, transaction DNO_CUST04
- (satellite system) Transaction sm30, table BCOS_CUST:
Appl. + Dest. + +
OSS_MSG W SM_SMGCLNT010_BACK CUST620 1.0
TST_CUS 0120009939
RFC SM_SMGCLNT010_BACK works, SM recollects EW Alert from this satellite system
- (satellite system) I logged with a SAP user with these roles:
SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
SAP_BC_CUS_CUSTOMIZER according SAP NOTE 834534
SAP_BC_CUS_ADMIN according SAP NOTE 834534
SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_CREATE
SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN
All these roles are mantained.
- I've review SAP Notes 834534, 864195, 621927(I haven't applied this SAP Note because it's older)
Please could you help me?
Thanks and Regards
RaulHi,
When I try create a SAP message via help->create suuport message, I get the same error so I run help->create support message in a satellite system so I run help->create support message in Solution Manager
system. Also, a dump is generated in Solution Manager when I try create support message or from satellite or from solution manager.

Runtime Errors OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED
Date and Time 10.07.2008 10:17:26
Short text
Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CP" had to be
terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
access a component (variable: " ").
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access components.
Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
CLEAR statement.
How to correct the error
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED" " "
"CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CP" or "CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CM004"
"PROFILE_CONTAINS_PARTNERDEP"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CP" -
in "PROFILE_CONTAINS_PARTNERDEP".
The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 41
of the (Include) program "CL_BOR_SERVICE_PPF============CM004".

Creating an instance of a class from within another class
I am trying to create an instance of MCQ in the T class but I am getting this error:
File: E:\JAVA PROGRAMS\assignment 1\T.java [line: 15]
Error: cannot find symbol
symbol : class MCQ
location: class T
here are the two classes:
// class T
import java.awt.*;
import java.util.*;
import java.lang.*;
public class T{
public T(String aT)
pest = aT;
public static T t_one()
T aT = new T("Calculator");
aT.addQ(new MCQ( " 2 + 2", "equals 4", "equals 5", "equals 0", " equals -2",
"is a prime number", 1));
return aT;
private String pest;
//class Q
import java.awt.*;
import java.util.*;
import java.lang.*;
public abstract class Q{
Vector q = new Vector();
public String aT;
abstract void addQ(Q aQ);
public class MCQ extends Q{
String a,b,c,d,e,f,g;
int answer;
public MCQ (String a, String b, String c, String d, String e, int answer)
this.a = a;
this.b = b;
this.c = c;
this.d = d;
this.e = e;
this.answer = answer;
void addQ(Q aQ)
q.addElement(new T(aT));
I tried to make reference to MCQ by doing this in class T:
MCC qT = new MCQ() ;
but that presents a whole other set of problems.
please help I think I have tried everything!Use code tags (http://forum.java.sun.com/help.jspa?sec=formatting)
Don't import java.lang.* . You get those automatically.
Your MCQ class is really Q.MCQ (the way you posted, anyway).
If Q weren't abstract, you could do:
new Q().new MCQ(...)But, you can't create a Q without defining 'add'. You could do it anonymously, but that makes no sense. Put Q and MCQ in separate files and try again. -
How to create multiple instance on same database
Hi ,
I would like to know how to create multiple instance on same database . I know that some people use database configuration assistant to do this but i could not figure out how they did it.
Any how if some one can help me with this and can give me links of this it would be great help for me.
Thank you for reading my problem and helping me !
Amil
please if possible mail me on [email protected]How to create multiple instance?????Do you mean multiple instances on the same database, or multiple databases on the same machine ?
I m new to this field....
Willin to learn a lot about oracle....Then it wouldn't be bad reading a bit of Database Concepts -
I need Fusion help creating a demo of BRM JCA Resource Adapter
I need Fusion help creating a demo of BRM JCA Resource Adapter.
I know BRM well but am clueless with Fusion.
I am trying to figure out what Fusion products to download and install and how I manipulate the Fusion side to manipulate BRM.
My BRM docs say:
Installing the BRM JCA Resource Adapter ->
Software requirements
(yada yada install a bunch of BRM stuff I know how to do)
The adapter must be deployed on a J2EE 1.4-compliant application server that has implemented the JCA 1.5 specification. The adapter runs only in a managed environment. (Does this imply some particular Fusion package?)
(more yada yada about installing more BRM packages I know how to do)
Deploying and configuring the BRM JCA Resource Adapter ->
Overview of the BRM JCA Resource Adapter configuration procedure
The procedure for setting up the BRM JCA Resource Adapter includes the following tasks:
Installing the adapter on your BRM system, if you have not already done so. See Installing the BRM JCA Resource Adapter.
Generating the schema files for the adapter. See Generating the schema files for your system. (links to some BRM commands np)
Specifying how to construct XML tags. See Specifying the XML tags for extended fields. (links to an oob file included with directions on how to address BRM customizations np)
Generating the WSDL files for the adapter. See Generating the WSDL files for your system. (links to an oob file with directions to configure. I could use some help if/when I get this far)
The last two look pretty important but I haven't a clue. I pasted the text from the docs below.
Deploying the adapter on your application server. See Deploying the BRM JCA Resource Adapter on an Oracle application server.
Connecting the adapter to the BRM software. See Connecting the adapter to BRM in Oracle AS.
Deploying the BRM JCA Resource Adapter on an Oracle application server
The adapter is dependent on Java Archive (JAR) files to deploy properly. The following table lists the JAR files that the adapter requires from each application in your system.
Application
JAR files
J2EE application server
classes12.jar, connector15.jar, and jta.jar
Oracle BPEL process
bpm-infra.jar, orabpel-thirdparty.jar, orabpel.jar, and xmlparserv2.jar
BRM J2EE Resource Adapter
pcm.jar and pcmext.jar
Apache
xercesImpl.jar
If you are deploying the adapter in a standalone Oracle Containers for Java EE (OC4J) instance, make sure these JAR files are available to the class loader that is loading the adapter.
If you are deploying the adapter by using Oracle SOA Suite, these JAR files are available as part of the oracle.bpel.common code source. You import these libraries as follows:
Open the Oracle_home/j2ee/Instance/config/applications.xml configuration file for the J2EE instance.
Add the oracle.bpel.common entry (shown in bold below) to the imported-shared-libraries section of the file:
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="adf.oracle.domain"/>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
Save and close the file.
Restart the application server or the J2EE instance.
After you make the JAR files available, deploy the adapter on the Oracle application server by using either the Oracle Application Server (Oracle AS) Application Server Control (ASC) or the Oracle admintool.jar file. Copy the adapter archive file (BRM_home/apps/brm_integrations/jca_adapter/OracleBRMJCA15Adapter.rar) from the installation directory to a location that is accessible to the adapter deployment tool. You can then open and deploy the archive file on your application server.
After successful deployment, return the applications.xml file to its original settings and add the oracle.bpel.common codesource to the BRM Adapter oc4j-ra.xml file:
Open the Oracle_home/j2ee/Instance/config/applications.xml configuration file for the J2EE instance.
Remove the following oracle.bpel.common entry (shown in bold below):
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="adf.oracle.domain"/>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
Save and close the file.
Open the JCA Resource Adapter oc4j-ra.xml file from the Oracle_home/j2ee/Instance/application-deployments/default/BRMAdapterDeploymentName directory.
Add the oracle.bpel.common entry (shown in bold below) to the oc4j-connector-factories section of the file:
<oc4j-connector-factories...>
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
<oc4j-connector-factories>
Save and close the file.
Restart the application server or the J2EE instance.
For more information about deploying the adapter, see your application server’s documentation.
Connecting the adapter to BRM in Oracle AS
You connect the adapter to the BRM software by creating connection pools and connection factories. As part of the adapter deployment, the application server creates oc4j-ra.xml from the packaged ra.xml. The ra.xml file is located in the Oracle_home/j2ee/Instance/connectors/AdapterDeploymentName/AdapterDeploymentName/META-INF directory. For example, Oracle_home/j2ee/home/connectors/BRMAdapter/BRMAdapter/META-INF/ra.xml.
Use the resource adapter home page from the Oracle AS ASC page to create connection pools and connection factories.
Create your connection pool by following the performance and tuning guidelines in Configuring Connection Pooling in OC4J in Oracle Containers for J2EE Resource Adapter Administrator's Guide. See download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28956/conncont.htm.
Make sure you set the pool’s Maximum Connections parameter (maxConnections XML entity) equal to or greater than the Oracle BPEL process manager’s dspMaxThreads parameter. For more information, see Oracle BPEL Process Manager Performance Tuning in Oracle Application Server Performance Guide for 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) at download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28942/tuning_bpel.htm.
Note To set up JCA Resource Adapter transaction management in BPEL, you must create a private connection pool and set its Inactive Connection Timeout property (inactivity-timeout XML entity) to 0. See About JCA Resource Adapter transaction management in BPEL for more information.
Create as many connection factories as your system needs. For each connection factory, specify the following:
The JNDI location for the connection factory.
The connection pool to use.
How to connect to BRM by using these entries:
Entry
Description
ConnectionString
Specify the protocol, host name, and port number for connecting to the BRM software. For example: ip Server1 12006.
DBNumber
Specify the database number for the BRM database. For example, enter 1 or 0.0.0.1 for database 0.0.0.1.
InputValidation
Specifies whether to validate the input XMLRecord:
True — The adapter validates the input XMLRecord against the opcode schema.
False — The adapter does not validate the input XMLRecord.
The default is False.
This overrides any other validation parameter specified in the WSDL file.
OutputValidation
Specifies whether to validate the output XMLRecord:
True — The adapter validates the output XMLRecord against the opcode schema.
False — The adapter does not validate the output XMLRecord.
The default is False.
This overrides any other validation parameter specified in the WSDL file.
LoginType
Specifies the authentication method:
1 — The adapter logs in to BRM by using the specified login name and password.
0 — The adapter logs in to BRM by using the specified service type and POID ID.
The default is 1.
UserName
Specifies the login name the adapter uses for logging in to the BRM software.
Note This entry is required only if LoginType is set to 1.
Password
Specify the password the adapter uses for logging in to the BRM software.
Note This entry is required only if LoginType is set to 1.
PoidID
Specifies the POID ID. This entry should be set to 1.
ServiceType
Specifies the service the adapter uses to log in to the BRM software.
The default is /service/pcm_client.

<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="adf.oracle.domain"/>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="adf.oracle.domain"/>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
<oc4j-connector-factories...>
<imported-shared-libraries>
<import-shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common"/>
</imported-shared-libraries>
<oc4j-connector-factories>
You have successfully configured the adapter to connect to BRM. -

Hello guys,
Im stuck with actionscript error, i really need help here the error i got:-

import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
import flash.display.StageAlign;
import net.hires.utils.Stats;
public class Away3dProject extends Sprite
public function Away3dProject()

stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
var scene:Away3dScene = new Away3dScene();

at Away3dProject()[C:\Users\ahmed\Desktop\3d\Away3dProject.as:17]
error number 65 in Away3dScene is: _flare.setHaloAsset(new Halo());
error number 44 in Away3dScene is: initObjects();
error number 17 in Away3dProject.as is: addChild(scene);
and the last error is: at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/addChild()
But what is strange i test project at flash builder and he work fine, i just want move from flash builder to run in flash cs5.5, so i move Away3dProject.as, Away3dScene.as, and i add Away3d classes to flash cs5.5 and also add net class to flash cs5.5.
also i add all movies clips to my libriry project, please could you help me to find why i got this error with flash cs5.5.
