Help! How to pull data from a database into form

I have information store in a database and I need to import(place) it onto a form. The form already has a connection to the database, I just don't know how to update the information on the form with the information that is stored in the database. Can anyone help?

Yes there is ....now you need to do a query agianst the DB looking for that specific record. I did a webinar on this topic some time ago but i believe the link is still active. Have a go at this:

Yes, it is. However, the recordset must exist before you can assign the value to another variable. The final line of the code that creates a recordset looks like this:
$totalRows_Recordset1 = mysql_num_rows($Recordset1);
If you're attempting to create the session variable before that line, as I suspect you are, it's not really surprising that it doesn't work.

asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

I appreciate for your response. Yep you are exactly right it is data only, but I do have a problem these people have their licence of limited version of Essbase.
Let me give you the information of their licence agreement.
The licence for the hyperion planning- sytem9 programs includes a limited use license for both the hyperion Essbase- system 9 and hyperion Financial reporting - system 9 programs. Such limited use license means that the hyperion Essbase- system 9 and Hyperion financial reporting -system 9 programs may only be used to access data from the Hyperion planning -system 9 program.
Specifically, the hyperion essbase- system 9 program cannot be used to create Essbase cubes that do not contain data used by the Hyperion planning- system 9 program and the Aggregate storage option component of the Hyperion Essbase - system 9 program may not be used.
1) what it(licence agreement) really means - can you install Essbase, if not how can you create dimensions dynamically using planning.
2) Is it possible without Essbase as far as I know its not possible
3) are we going to face any issues with this licence.
4) Is it possibe to pull data with planning

You need to perform some native SQL to fetch data. Before doing this connection must be exists b/w your R/3 and Oracle server.
Basis team will help you to have connection.

I am working on a project to instrument a product which runs on java as well as c/c++.
Is there a way to pull data from a c/c++ application to a MBean?
I am able to push the data through a custom TCP Adapter, But I could not get much help on a pull model.
Also I would like to get some pointers on instrumentation techniques / patterns.

Hi Arun,
You have to do the following:
1. Create an entry in Trxn DBCA for SQL Server in SAP, you are creating a database connection for the SQL server in SAP.
2. You use this connection, and write Native SQL stmnts...between EXECSQL...ENDEXEC to fetch the data..and then normal ABAP statements to put that data into your ztable.

How I can transfer data from the database into a variable (or array)?

I made my application according to the example (http://corlan.org/2009/06/12/working-in-flash-builder-4-with-flex-and-php/). Everything works fine. I changed one function to query the database - add the two parameters and get the value of the table in String format. A test operation shows that all is ok. If I want to display this value in the text area, I simply drag and drop service to this element in the design mode
(<s:TextArea x="153" y="435" id="nameText" text="{getDataMeanResult.lastResult[0].name}" width="296" height="89" />).
It also works fine, just a warning and encouraged to use ArrayCollection.getItemAt().
Now I want to send the value to a variable or array, but in both cases I get an error: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties..
How can I pass a value from the database into a variable? Thank you.

yep, it won't work for Arrays, you'll have to do something slightly more intelligent for them.
easiest way would be to get your PHP to generate XML, then read that into something like an ArrayList on your HTTPService result event (depends what you're doing with it).

I have a requirement where i need to fetch data from different database through database link .Depending on user request , the dblink needs to change and data from respective table from mentioned datbase has to be fetched and populated .Could i use execute immediate for this, would dblink work within execute immediate .If not , could pls let me know any other approach .

What does "the dblink needs to change" mean?
Are you trying to dynamically create database links at run-time? Or to point a query at one of a set of pre-established database links at run-time?
Are you sure that you really need to get the data from the remote database in real time? Could you use materialized views/ Streams/ etc to move the data from the remote databases to the local database? That tends to be far more robust.

I use jdbc-odbc to connect to my database ,database is foxpro, in the database there is a table named "tlb", I can select the table the total roll nums,but when I select the data from the roll, I cannot get the data, this data type is memo type, I don't know how get this data!

I remember question about a memo type in Access and maybe also SQLServer. Is this the same like in FoxPro?
