How we write into properties file using get class method
Hi
I want to set some value into properties file using given code
can any one please tell me how i can do this.
property file
setting.properties
Name = abc
and code I use is
java.io.InputStream oInputStream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("Setting.properties");
Properties obj = new Properties();
obj.load(oInputStream);
String myName = obj.getProperty("Name");
System.out.println("myName :"+myName);
obj.setProperty("Name","def");
FileOutputStream oOutput= new FileOutputStream("Setting.properties");
obj.store(oOutput, "");
thanks.You can't.
If you have properties that change dynamically, you should not be using a properties file that sits in the classpath, you should be using Preferences, or a properties file that sits in some application or possibly even user directory, but not one in the classpath. The proper way to do this, would be to have a properties file in your jar (or otherwise in your classpath) that contains the defaults, and another one outside of the classpath in one of the twwo above mentioned areas, then, you read the default one only if the other doesn't exist, or you read the default one first, then read the other overwriting the values from the defaults.
Don't forget to save the properties again (right after loading if you loaded, or always load, the defaults) after every change. -

try {
fr = new FileReader(f);

where generate is a string declared globally.
how to go about it?
Thanks for your reply in advanceIf you want to copy files as fast as possible, without processing them (as the DOS "copy" or the Unix "cp" command), you can try the java.nio.channels package.
import java.nio.*;
import java.nio.channels.*;
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
import java.text.*;
class Kopy {
* @param args [0] = source filename
* args [1] = destination filename
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
if (args.length != 2) {
System.err.println ("Syntax: java -cp . Kopy source destination");
System.exit(1);
File in = new File(args[0]);
long fileLength = in.length();
long t = System.currentTimeMillis();
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream (in);
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream (args[1]);
FileChannel fci = fis.getChannel();
FileChannel fco = fos.getChannel();
fco.transferFrom(fci, 0, fileLength);
fis.close();
fos.close();
t = System.currentTimeMillis() - t;
NumberFormat nf = new DecimalFormat("#,##0.00");
System.out.print (nf.format(fileLength/1024.0) + "kB copied");
if (t > 0) {
System.out.println (" in " + t + "ms: " + nf.format(fileLength / 1.024 / t) + " kB/s");

How to write a CSV file in OSB
Hi All,
can any one tell me How to write a CSV file in OSB?
Thanks.Hey, I couldnot find any xsl usage inside pipeline pair in the links given by you. Do you have any links that gives a sample example.I could not find any links with examples. I will send you a simple config jar demonstrating the use of XSLT resources/transformations.
secondly should MFL doc replicate the name(s)of the nodes of the source xsd:I'm not sure If I understood your question.Can you please explain?
Ex: My database schema looks like:
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
<xs:schema targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/top/AssetsPoll" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/db/top/AssetsPoll" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<xs:element name="CountriesCollection" type="CountriesCollection"/>
<xs:complexType name="CountriesCollection">
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="Countries" type="Countries" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
<xs:complexType name="Countries">
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element name="countryId">
<xs:simpleType>
<xs:restriction base="xs:string">
<xs:maxLength value="2"/>

</xs:simpleType>
</xs:element>
<xs:element name="countryName" minOccurs="0" nillable="true">
<xs:simpleType>
<xs:restriction base="xs:string">

</xs:simpleType>
</xs:element>
<xs:element name="regionId" type="xs:decimal" minOccurs="0" nillable="true"/>
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
</xs:schema>
and the corresponding MFL that I have created gives this output
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
<countriesCollection1>
<Countries>
<counrtyId>counrtyId</counrtyId>
<country_name>country_name</country_name>

How to write run.bat files
Can anyone tell me how to write run.bat files to run java classes. Currently my run.bat file has the following two lines,
c:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin\javac.exe *.java
c:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin\java.exe questionnair
But the class is not executed. Thanks in advance.you'll have to provide more details.
Firstly, which package is the class a part of? and secondly, where on the filesystem is the root of the package?
You might also benifit from placing the c:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin\ into the classpath.
On a rainy day, check out the ANT tool, it will take care of all that crapola for you.

How to get sql query data and write into csv file?
I am writing to seek help, in how can I create bat. script which can execute the following logic:
connection to the database
run sql query
create CSV file
output query data, into CSV file
save the CSV file
osql
-S 84.18.111.111
-U adw
-P rem
-i "c:\query.sql"
send ""
sed -e 's/,\s\+/,/g' MCI_04Dec2014.csv > localNoSpaces.csv
-o "c:\MCI_04Dec2014.csv"
This what i have so far, and I am little struggling with the logic after creating CSV file. I am unable to get the above script to work, please advice further, where I may be going wrong.
Can you create if statement logic within window's script, to check for null parameters or data feeds?
Any hints would be most appreciated.Thank you for your reply.
Apology for posting the code irrelevant to the forum, as I am still novice scripting user.
My goal is to create window's script which can compute the above logic and send the final output file (csv), to FTP folder.
Can this logic be implemented via bat. script, if so, is there a example or tutorial i could follow, in order to achieve my task.
Any help would be much appreciated. -
Help to export data into a file
Hi,
I am having more than 200 columns in a table. Client wants to export the data into a file with all 215 columns data. When i write the select * from tablename into a spool file. It is getting the data into a multiple lines however client wants each record into a single line.(right now records are getting into multiple lines). I tried to use to_nclob(columnname1)....to_nclob(column215), this way it is getting a single line for each record but it is taking much time(means in a table we have 10M records and explain plan is showing 3 days to export the file). Could you please help me how we can achieve these type of functionalities.

Hardly surprising it's taking ages to export 10 million rows, if you're doing it through SQL*Plus, as that involves transporting all the data over the network to the client, which is then rendering all that data in the display (which can be slow to scroll, depending on the size of the window) etc.
Better to get the database to access the file system directly, using UTL_FILE (though this does mean that the file is produced on the server) and then transfer the resultant file to where it needs to go.
Example of a generic template to use as a starting point...
As sys user:
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY TEST_DIR AS '\tmp\myfiles'
GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY TEST_DIR TO myuser
As myuser:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE run_query(p_sql IN VARCHAR2
,p_dir IN VARCHAR2
,p_header_file IN VARCHAR2
,p_data_file IN VARCHAR2 := NULL) IS
v_finaltxt VARCHAR2(4000);
v_v_val VARCHAR2(4000);
v_n_val NUMBER;
v_d_val DATE;
v_ret NUMBER;
c NUMBER;
d NUMBER;
col_cnt INTEGER;
f BOOLEAN;
rec_tab DBMS_SQL.DESC_TAB;
col_num NUMBER;
v_fh UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
v_samefile BOOLEAN := (NVL(p_data_file,p_header_file) = p_header_file);
BEGIN
c := DBMS_SQL.OPEN_CURSOR;
DBMS_SQL.PARSE(c, p_sql, DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
d := DBMS_SQL.EXECUTE(c);
DBMS_SQL.DESCRIBE_COLUMNS(c, col_cnt, rec_tab);
FOR j in 1..col_cnt
LOOP
CASE rec_tab(j).col_type
WHEN 1 THEN DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(c,j,v_v_val,2000);
WHEN 2 THEN DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(c,j,v_n_val);
WHEN 12 THEN DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(c,j,v_d_val);
ELSE
DBMS_SQL.DEFINE_COLUMN(c,j,v_v_val,2000);
END CASE;
END LOOP;
-- This part outputs the HEADER
v_fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN(upper(p_dir),p_header_file,'w',32767);
FOR j in 1..col_cnt
LOOP
v_finaltxt := ltrim(v_finaltxt||','||lower(rec_tab(j).col_name),',');
END LOOP;
-- DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_finaltxt);
UTL_FILE.PUT_LINE(v_fh, v_finaltxt);
IF NOT v_samefile THEN
UTL_FILE.FCLOSE(v_fh);
END IF;
-- This part outputs the DATA
IF NOT v_samefile THEN
v_fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN(upper(p_dir),p_data_file,'w',32767);
END IF;
LOOP
v_ret := DBMS_SQL.FETCH_ROWS(c);
EXIT WHEN v_ret = 0;
v_finaltxt := NULL;
FOR j in 1..col_cnt
LOOP
CASE rec_tab(j).col_type
WHEN 1 THEN DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(c,j,v_v_val);
v_finaltxt := ltrim(v_finaltxt||',"'||v_v_val||'"',',');
WHEN 2 THEN DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(c,j,v_n_val);
v_finaltxt := ltrim(v_finaltxt||','||v_n_val,',');
WHEN 12 THEN DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(c,j,v_d_val);
v_finaltxt := ltrim(v_finaltxt||','||to_char(v_d_val,'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),',');
ELSE
DBMS_SQL.COLUMN_VALUE(c,j,v_v_val);
v_finaltxt := ltrim(v_finaltxt||',"'||v_v_val||'"',',');
END CASE;
END LOOP;
-- DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_finaltxt);
UTL_FILE.PUT_LINE(v_fh, v_finaltxt);
END LOOP;
UTL_FILE.FCLOSE(v_fh);
DBMS_SQL.CLOSE_CURSOR(c);
END;
This allows for the header row and the data to be written to seperate files if required.
e.g.
SQL> exec run_query('select * from emp','TEST_DIR','output.csv');
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
Output.csv file contains:
empno,ename,job,mgr,hiredate,sal,comm,deptno

The procedure allows for the header and data to go to seperate files if required. Just specifying the "header" filename will put the header and data in the one file.
Adapt to output different datatypes and styles are required. -
How to write 'into' a PDF-document ?
hi there,
i have a new small project to do with the following problem:
i get a file (text-file) with invoices from an external system.
I want to 'overlay' this file with a form, which is a PDF-document.
the question is: is it possible to write 'into the PDF'-form the contents of the text-file ? if yes, how is it possible ?
regards, Martinwell,
this is not what i need, sorry
i don't want to convert the text-file into a PDF-file.
i have an existing PDF-file (a FORM with all the overlay, like graphics, company-logo, etc....). and i have a text file. and i want to 'merge' the text into

Using UTL_FILE i'm able to read csv file. I'm stuck up in appending some more columns to same csvYou'll struggle to append data to an existing CSV.
You'd be better to read the data from one CSV, and create another CSV using that data, and the extra data you want, and then when finished, delete the original file and rename the new file to the old filename.
You should be able to do that using External Tables to read the source file (easier than using UTL_FILE) and UTL_FILE to write the new file. -
How to write data to file Java ME cldc 1.1 midp 2.0?
I newly in java me, please help me.
I make project in NetBeans 7.0.1. and use cldc 1.1 midp 2.0.
I want to write data to the file.
How can I do it?
I try to use FileOutputStream. But it don't exists in java.io
NetBeans shows me only this list of classes and interfaces in java.io:
ByteArrayInputStream, ByteArrayOutputStream, DataInput, DataInputStream, DataOutput, DataOutputStream, InputStream, InputStreamReader, OutputStream, OutputStreamWriter, PrintStream, Reader, Writer.
Why it so short?
And how I can write data to file?
Data can be array of bytes (byte[]) or Object it better.You must use JSR 75: FileConnection. Please check the following article "Getting Started with the FileConnection APIs":
http://developers.sun.com/mobility/apis/articles/fileconnection/
Be sure to use FileSystemRegistry.listRoots().
And welcome to Java ME development. :) -
