Help needed in algorithm design please

Hello,
I need to design an algorithm that prints a monthly calendar in tabular format. The problem is:
1. The first day of the month needs to be indented to the corresponding day of the week,
2. Each week needs to be on a separate line (Sun ... Sat),
How should I design this? What data structure should I be using?
Also, please recommend some GOOD introductory algorithm and program design books and websites.

how about this ?It's a classic. Studying it would make anyone a better person. But then I'm an Old Testament kind of guy. No, strike that and make it Rigveda.It is a classic, and studying it, assuming it doesn't kill you, will make you stronger, and make you want to write a MIX to Java converter.That was my Master's thesis! Help needed with Report Design

Hi All,
Here is the requirement.
Period Type(holds 2 values) : Payment and Vested.
we have field 'Total Days' which is calculated based on "User Selected" Period Type.
For example, When Period Type is Payment,
If start date is less than or equal to grant date and end date is less than or equal to vest date, then calculation is (End Date - Grant Date)+1
If start date is greater than grant date and end date is less than or equal to vest date, then calculation is (End Date - Mobility Start Date)+1 (similarly 2 more if conditions) ...we have similar calculation for Period Type - 'Vested'.
This Period Type is a multiselect Prompt. How can this be achievable.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Help needed in Query design

Hello Query experts,
I have the following data in my DSO.

Now, I need to design a query to produce the following result:

Can anybody help me achieve this through a BI Query?

I think kf3 can easily be created at query level itself without writing complex logic..As far as i understand your requirement kf3 is a differnce of kf2 and kf1.
so jst make local formula and in that put kf2-kf1.it will give you the desired output for kf3.
Kf4 i need to think,i will update you soon

Help needed with nokia 6300 please

I have nokia 6300 , I have unstalled many programs on it (like messenger and google earth java files) some of them needs to connect to internet through gprs but they give a message "Subscribe to packet transfer first". But my device connects to web and opens pages through explorer.
Please if any can give help and thanks to all.........

Are you sure your connecting by gprs to the net, or by other means say WIFI or wap? There are many packet services & not all are provided by ISP unless one subscribe to it.

In Step 5 of "Changing the Column Components" you change the Trip Type column to a drop-down list.
5. Select TRIP.TRIPTYPEID from the Selected list and make the following changes:
* Change the Header text field from TRIPTYPEID to Trip Type.
* Using the drop-down list, change the Component Type from Static Text to Drop Down List.
6. Click OK to enforce your changes and dismiss the window. If the table columns are too wide after performing the above steps, you can resize them by selecting the first component in each column and dragging its selection handles.

Help needed with CSS menu please

Could someone give me a hand with a CSS menu I am struggling
with please?
I want each of the blue menus to have a black border around
it (so 4 borders in total). And how do I make each menu have a
closer gap? I need them squashed up a little bit more vertically.

um... that's what I meant... the OP had all four sides styled
separately,
with 0 for one side... but mentioned he wanted a border on
all sides....
hence my arrow pointing out the side that had 0 for border
and what could
be used as a shortcut method of styling the border....

Help needed with my form - PLEASE!

My form on avarislaw.com is working properly.
The form attach file area should not be mandatory but for some reason it still apears even when I change this in BC.

You need to remove the javascript validation for that form element in the HTML of the form as well.

Non-techy language help needed for windows install please

Hi everyone
I am new to mac and am felling more than a little confused about how to get the best out of the software i need to use.
I need office 2007 to run on windows, but i as windows is not already installed, I am not sure which version to buy. I know I don't need parallel software, I just need to do the boot camp thing.
I've tried going through the tutorials but they are really resonating with me as I have minimal knowledge about these things.
Could someone help please?

You suspect wrongly. The Lenovo upgrade disk is one version only, either x86 or x64 but not both.
The Microsoft operating systems licences that come bundled with Lenovo systems (and it's pretty much the same for all vendors) are all for either x86 or x64 only. So Microsoft requires the upgrades to similarly licenced.

Help needed urgently .. Please help...

I am using JTable in my project where i am overriding the default editor to my own custom editor.
The problem is, when i am using tab key or mouse click, the cursor does not immediately move the next/clicked editable cell. I have to press the tab key twice to move to the next cell. After debugging i saw that the focus goes from the cell editor to the table and then on the second click to the next editor.
My project requires a single click/single tab key pressed to make the cells editable.
Please help..

Let me describe what is happening..
When I click tab, it moves 2 rows down, The table still highlights the next cell, but since it is not editable, I cant do anything, when I click Tab it moves to the next editable cell, which means that if the current cell is editable the table highlight moves to the next cell (which is not editable), and on the next tab it starts editing the cell.
I dont know if I made too much sense... but I reallly need help with this.

Help needed - containers at design time

I'm new to Flash, and I'm having trouble with some basic
concepts. Here's my project:
I've created a state map, with each county broken out as a
symbol. I can traverse the DisplayObject list and manipulate each
county as needed. That all seems to work ok.
The problem: in addition to the county symbols, I have
several other objects in my scene (text layers, logos, etc). I'd
like to move the county symbols to a container, so I can traverse
that container without the other objects getting in the mix. Doing
this in AS would be cumbersome and bug-prone. How can I create such
a container at design time? The only technique I could find was
selecting all the counties and making them a symbol, but then I
can't manipulate the individual counties.
Any help? I'd appreciate any advice. I'm not new to OOP, but
this is a very different world. Thanks!

ITUNES help needed....please

Have had iTunes for about 2 years now and haven't had too many problems. Then this month, my entire iTunes library and playlists vanished. Everything. I tried to reinstall it and now it's reading "! Invalid Drive: G:\". I don't have a G drive and I can't access anything that has to do with iTunes.
In addition, it was recommended that I uninstall it and then reinstall it. But when I attempt to uninstall it it states the same "! Invalid Drive: G:\". I haven't done anything different to my computer or added/removed any programs that would make me think it would affect iTunes. PLEASE HELP.

You don't need to deauthorize your phone. When you plug it into iTunes on your new computer you should see this warning:
Before you erase and sync, make sure that you have at least one contact and calendar entry in your computer, then when you sync for the first time you should get an option to merge that data.

Help needed with while loops please :)

I'm beginning to study java at School.
My assignment using while loops, to ask user to input 2 numbers.
I have to output all odd number between the two.
I have to output the sum of all even numbers between the two.
Output all the numbers and their squares between 1-10.
Output the squares of the odd numbers between the 2 numbers the user entered.
Output all uppercase letters.
If anyone can give me any help, I would appreciate it greatly.

It would help if you put aside your code, and wrote out some pseudo-code first so that you understand the steps you will need to take. for example
get input from user
set counter to first number entered
while counter less than/ equal to second number
      check if number is even
           if even, add to even_sum
           else output counter, along with its square
      increment counter by one
end while
output sum of evensthat block, when coded, will solve 3 of the problems, the other 2 will require separate loops
