  • Help with JSP Tag Libraries

    Could someone please help me with the setup process of tag libraries? I've looked on the Internet and found some instructions, but they are all for Tomcat. I'm using Jserv, and I'm not sure how to setup my environment to work with custom/tag libraries. Could someone help me by giving me some instructions or sending me to an article that could help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi pvongboupha
    The best source for getting to know how to set up tag libraries is the JSP specification. You can download this from :
    http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/download.html
    See the chapter on Tag libraries. Any J2EE compliant server will conform to these rules.
    You can also see a chapter from Core Servlets & JSP by Marty Hall. This chapter is on Tag Libraries

    Keep me posted on your progress.

  • Need help on Flex JSP tag library

    I am new to Flex and currently developing portlets where I
    need to integrate Flex into JSP pages. According to various
    documents from Adobe and other online discussions, this can be done
    with Flex JSP tag library. It appears that the taglib used to be a
    separate package that you could download but no longer available (I
    was only able to find a few broken links). Instead, the library is
    now part of the LiveCycle DS product according to Adobe. However, I
    have downloaded LiveCycle DS and couldn't find the necessary taglib
    in the package. Your help will be highly appreciated.

    I'm trying to do the same thing you are. Its mentioned that
    the library is part of LifeCycle DS but I couldn't find it in there
    either.
    Here's a site I found where you can download
    FlexModule_j2ee.zip It includes some instructions too.

  • Help! writing japanese using jsp tag extension

    Hello Group !
    I'm having problems implementing a simple jsp tag extension.
    I've written a written a short code that is invoked in my tag (see below).
    The code goal is to write two japanese letters. However, all I get are two
    single-byte letters which my browser displays as '?'.
    What should I do to make Weblogic write japanese and not Latin ?
    Should I dynamically mess with the Locale ??
    Any help would be highly appriciated.
    Here's my piece of code:
    public class myBlock extends javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.BodyTagSupport {
    private void parseTagBody() throws IOException, JspException
    ServletResponse response = (ServletResponse) pageContext.getResponse();
    response.setContentType("text/html;charset=EUC_JP");
    pageContext.getOut().write(38498);
    pageContext.getOut().write(39745);

  • How to get the values of an Array using JSP Tags

    Hey guys,
    I need some help. I've splited a String using
    fn:split(String, delim) where String = "1,2,3,4" and delim is ,
    This method returns an Array of splited Strings. how do i get the values from this array using jsp tags. I don't wanna put java code to achive that.
    Any help would be highly appreciated
    Thanks

    The JSTL forEach tag.
    In fact if all you want to do is iterate over the comma separated list, the forEach tag supports that without having to use the split function.
    <c:set var="list" value="1,2,3,4"/>
    <c:forEach var="num" items="${list}">
      <c:out value="${num}"/>
    </c:forEach>The c:forTokens method will let you do this with delimiters other than a comma, but the forEach tag works well just with the comma-delimited string.

  • Urgent-how to access custom tag from jsp tag

    I have a problem accessing a custom tag from a jsp expression.
    Details: I have a custom tag that returns a string variable. I need to access that variable from jsp expression <%%>.
    Can any body help me?

    Tags don't "return" values as in the normal sense.
    They can only support TEI (Tag Extra Information) that just stuffs a declared variable into the page's state.
    For example, if the tag class had a public method called getValue(), you could do the following:
    <xmp:mytag id="foo"/>
    <%
    out.println("value is " + foo.getValue());
    %>

  • Problems in developing custom JSP tags

    I have problems in debugging custom JSP tags. Sometimes the doStartTag is not called on tags but the doEndTag is called. I don't know why.
    Thanks.

    Fahr--
    A word of caution -- NetUI did not ship a JSP tag SDK in 8.x, and
    we're making no compatibility guarantees for custom JSP tags written on
    the 8.x release and future releases.
    You can accomplish the same sort of functionality with a combination
    of the <netui-data:getData> tag and JSTL 1.0. This solution would
    probably provide similar functionality and be more future-proof relative
    to JSTL and the NetUI tags currently being developed in Beehive.
    Hope that helps.

    We are in the midst of creating our own JSP tags to work with datasources.
    In an example where you would need to compare two different datasources how would you do this?
    ie.
    <prefix:isGreater dataSource="{pageflow.column1}" dataSourceToCompare="{pageFlow.column2}" />
    How would I evaluate what column2 is since the tag will only resolve one data source
    this.evaluateDataSource();
    Any pointers you can provide would be appreciated, or if there is a library of jsp tags that evaluate objects using datasources already created, that would even be better.

  • JSP tags for managing MBeans??

    Hi,
    I'm trying to build a GUI for managing a custom MBean. The MBean implementation is a wrapper for a singleton class (specifically, a Configuration class for a web app). I've tried using WebJMX, but the problem there is that it relies heavily on MX4J, and has not kept up with JMX advances in the last two years (MX4J is a bit ahead of weblogic 8.1).
    Just as there is a set of console extension jsp tags, I suspect that a set of JSP tags exists for the developers of the Weblogic console to write their JSP pages to manage the weblogic MBeans. I coud just try to figure out the pattern of the INPUT and FORM tags in the html, but that leaves me with a possibly-inaccurate, version-dependent, non-dynamically-generated page to manage one MBean.
    Does such a set exist? Could someone point me to any information about how to use such a set of tags?
    I would like to be able to have the JSP I use for my console extension display an interface for modifying MBean configurable fields and executing MBean operations. What would the best way be to do this? I do not want to embed the Sun JMX RI in my web-app and launch a separate HtmlAdaptor listening on a different port. I would like the admin to the MBean be accessible through (and only through) the weblogic console.
    Thanks in advance for the help,

  • Custom JSP Tags for Weblogic

    Hi,
              I have several questions regarding this topic:
              1) Does Weblogic 5.1 supports Custom Tags ? If so, are there any known
              problems ?
              2) Does Weblogic come with any tag libraries (for loops, if, etc) and where
              can I get them ?
              3) Are there any tag libraries out there (JRun, for example) that have been
              successfully run on Weblogic ?
              Any help would be much appreciated.
              Thanks,

  • Using Javascript attributes in a JSP-Tag

    Hi!
    I want to submit a Javascript attribute to an embedded jsp Tag:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    function test()
         var jscriptvar= document.myform.myselection.selectedIndex;
    result = <%= jspobj.doit(jscriptvar) %>;
    </script>
    The exception is : Undefined variable: jscriptvar
    Is that possible?
    It works, if the doit-method doesn't have a parameter.
    I hope, someone can help me.
    Thanks
    Torsten

    JavaScript is executed on the client-side by the browser. The JSP code is executed on the server-side by the server and has no knowledge of JavaScript variables. You can not mix them in this manner.

  • uix:table using JSP tags

    I cannot figure out how to bind a dataobject list using the <uix:table> tag. Could someone please help me with this.
    Jeff Driskell

    Do you mean that you already have a DataObjectList which you want to set as the <uix:table>'s tableData attribute? If so, I believe you have two choices:
    1. You can use a scriptable variable for the table and call setTableData() explicitly on the TableBean.
    2. You can use a scriptable variable for a dataScope and register a DataProvider which provides access to your DataObjectList. Then, you can use the tableDataBinding attribute of the <uix:table> tag to bind to your DataProvider.
    Examples of both of these techniques are provided in the "Scriptable variables" section of the "UIX JSP Tag Libraries" section of the UIX Developer's Guide.

              To be able to find the inconsistency in class files denoted at VerifyError exception,

              Also the related java beans used in jsp tag and related jsp, are in a jar on our

              But also, I must define that it is our first tag implemented after we migrate to
              the .war file after the web application directory structure of same application(that

    The tag lib is gotten from jakarta project and I'd like to know which steps i have to follow.
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
    What you have to do is this:
    - Include the jar file in the WEB-INF/lib
    - Include the tld file in a directory under WEB-INF, for example tlds
    - Create a mapping in the deployment descriptor (web.xml), to make the taglib available, something like this:
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/io</taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/tlds/io.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    Then in the jsp, you have to invoke it like this:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/io" prefix="io" %>
    <io:http url="http://mustang:4004/NASApp/fortune/fortune" action="GET"/>
    Hope this helps
