Help on Planning Strategy to be used

Hi,
I am using planning strategy 40 for MTS.
Scenerio : FERT1 in PLANT1 PRI created as 10000 each for week1 to week5. Total of 50000
After MRP run non-convertable planned order create for each week requirement.
Sales order created for 15000 and after MRP run planned order created with conversion indicator of 15000 qty. There is no reduction in PIR or planned order created from pegged requirement of PIR.
Requirement : PIR should be reduced 35000 and respective planned order should be removed created from PIR in earlier MRP run.
Please suggest solution.

Hi
Go to OPPS and check what is the Reqmts type for indep.reqmts and Reqmt type of customer reqmt assinged to strategy type 40.
Also check the consumption details in Reqmt type of customer reqmt.
    No consumption with customer requirements
1  Consume planning with assembly
2  Consume planning w/o assembly
3  Consume planning material (w/o assembly)
Also go to OVZG and check the Reqmt type of customer reqmt which is assigned to strategy type 40

  • Planning strategy 70

    Hi,
Please help me with my settings for planning strategy 70, iam using 70 for component of a finished good, when i planned my finished good it created dependent requirements for its components which are not consuming by sales order quantity for a finished good. I have maintained all relevant setting for PS 70. am i doing any mistake somewhere? suggest me.

    Hi ,
for FERT create PIR , then run MRP , system will create plan order for FERT as well as component., plus if you have maintained PIR for Component then additinal plan orders ofr PIR.
The plan order generated for FERT cant be converted to production order, but the plan order for component can be converted and you can produce them and maintain in srtock.
now when you will receive a sales order it will consume your PIR's for FERT and generate new plan orders for FERT which can be converted to production order and they will consume the component which are being at stock and was being produce earlier.
    check and come back.

  • Link between process order and sales order for planning strategy 52

    Hello,
I investigate the possibility of a link between "sales order" and "planned order / process order" for the usage of planning strategy 52 (planning w/o final assembly, make to stock).
I know, this is not conform to the basics of planning strategies (EITHER make to order OR make to stock) and I suspect it would be a modification. Of course we have the alternative "make to order" - strategy 50, but we do not want to use individual customer stocks.
Is anybody there with similar customer requirements or project experiences?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joerg

    Hi Jorg,
To my understanding if you need hard pegging then in SAP only Individual requirement is possible.
Or else you need to create a custom transactions/table to identify Sale order and when ever a process order is created by selecting the sale order record, the process order detials should also get updated against that.
You need to take the help of ABAP expert for this,

  • Demand management planning strategy

    Hi there,
I am trying to set up demand management for simple make to stock. I am using standard requirements type LSF which is linked to requirements class 100.(OMP1) The requirements class has a planning indicator (PLNKZ) set to "1" (net requirements planning) in OMPO. This is what I want as we want the warehouse stock to be taken into account when procurement proposals are generated. The planning strategy assigned to the material master has the "1" setting (net requirements planning). However when I run MRP after entering planned independent requirements for LSF (MD61), the purchasing requisitions proposed are just for the independent requirements and ignore warehouse stock. There is a line in the Stock / Requirements list that says "Gross Requirements Planning" Does anyone know where it is picking up "Gross Requirements Planning" instead of Net Requirements Planning (i.e. check what is in stock before creating procurement proposals)
    Any assistance is appreciated.
    thanks
    D

    Hi Suhas,
I don't want mixed MRP as such but when I cannot get any procurement proposals (requisitions) when the setting is blank. It may be elsewhere that the procurement proposal is - I am still checking.
However, when I choose "2" for mixed MRP, it does generate requsitions (but gives me the other problem where warehouse stock is not taken into account)
The requirements class 100 has an entry "1" for planning indicator and "1" for requirements category. All other columns are blank at the moment. I am in the process of experimenting with these next.
thanks for your help so far.

  • Planning strategy for Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock

    Hi
My client having Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock ,so please explain me step by step which Planning strategy is use for following situation
1.Forecast the production quantities for the variants and create the PIRs
2.sales order is created for variants
3.Planned independent requirements should consumed by incoming sales orders
Note:If it is MTO scenario i need sales order reference number in production order
    With regards
    Laxmipathi

    Hi,
You can Define Strategy Group under SPRO>Production>Prod.Planning>PIR>Planning strategy-->define st.Group.
In this step, you group strategies together into a strategy group. You can determine a main strategy as well as up to seven alternative strategies.
The main strategy is proposed in demand management or in sales order management and can be overwritten by another planning strategy defined in the strategy group.
You can allocate the strategy groups to the materials directly in the material master record, or you can allocate the strategy groups to an MRP group and then in a second step allocate the MRP group to the material in the material master record.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Problems in planning strategy 20

    Hi Experts,
My scenario is I am using Planning strategy 20 (Make To Order).
In Planning strategy 20, Purchase requisition & Planned Order is generated after MRP for RM, SFG & FG respectively.
But the problem is that RM is already in stock & I dont want Purchase requisition for Raw material after MRP run & system should consider this stock against the Sales order.
If I will get this solution, my query will resolve.
Please help me as my client is demanding.
    Waiting for your reply
    Thanks & Regards,
    Uttam Pal

If you want plant stock to be considered for RM, then maintain Indiv/Coll indicator as 2. Then the demand & supply will be plant segment.
But if you want the demand for the RM to be in sales order segment & yet net off against plant stock, it will not happen. You will have to transfer the plant stock to sales order stock, then system will net supply & demand.
    Hope the above clarifies.

  • PP: Planning strategy

    Hi Gurus,
I want to produce finished goods with order and I want to procure semi finished material with forecast.
I am using planning strategy group 52 for finished product and 40 for semi finished product. But it doesn't seems working. I mean I can procure semi finished material untill I get a customer order for finished product.
I don't know why it is happening. Can any one help me out?
    Thanks
    Shiv

    Hi Sumit,
My finished goods has planning strategy group - 52 and my semi finished has planning strategy group - 40.
When I enter forecast for my finished goods and run MRP semi finished is bechaving exactly as finished goods. I mean I can convert PR to PO or planned order to PR for semi finished untill I get customer order for finished goods.
    Thanks in advance

  • Planning Strategy 63

    Hello All
In my current scenario am using planning strategy 63 (Planning with planning material & without MTO), am having planning material X-PL with its variant materials X-1 & X-2, BOM of X-PL is having a component X1-C which is common to planning material and its variant materials. Am creating PIR for X-PL and running MRP, with that am procuring X1-C(common component) internally. When i enter sales order for X-1 system consumes PIR of X-PL which is all OK, & when i run MRP for X-1 system creates planned order for X-1 and also for X1-C, here i am having issue becaue system shall create Planned order & purchase requisition for all the components of X-1 leaving the component X1-C because it is already procured & is in the stock because of the planning of X-PL. Looking forward to your positive & prompt response. Shall be thankful for your valuable guidance & inputs.

    Hello All
Thanks to you all for your valuable support & inputs regarding this issue, my issue has been resolved, SAP service gave me the reply to this query & that too their development team.
When i enter sales order for X-1 system consumes PIR of X-PL which is all OK, & when i run MRP for X-1 system creates planned order for X-1 and also for X1-C, here i am having issue becaue system shall create Planned order & purchase requisition for all the components of X-1 leaving the component X1-C because it is already procured & is in the stock because of the planning of X-PL.+ In planning strategy 63 the system doesnt take into account avaialbility check which we define in MRP view.+
At this point as the sytem was supposed to switch the dependent requirement of X1-C from planning material X-PL to dependent requirement of X1-C from variant product X-1, but it doesnt work like that. We have to run MRP again of Planning material X-PL, & its result is that the dependent requirement of X1-C from planning material X-PL is switched to dependent requirement of X1-C from variant product X-1, moreover the planned order(type VP) of planning material X-PL is also reduced/consumed in proportion to the quantity of sales order of variant product X-1, after we re run the MRP for planning material X-PL.
Hope this shall clarify many doubts about this strategy, & i think many of us shall be using this strategy now as per the client requirement.
At last thanks to you all for your valuable support & inputs. Shall look forward to the same support & guidance which i get from you people, this issue of mine is now resolved & am sure that this shall help many of us now.

  • Planning Strategy that drive demand on both PIR and Sales Order

    Hi,
Do anyone know is there any planning strategy that i could use to drive demand on both PIR and SO? PS 40 won't suitable as it will compare between PIR and SO and only drive demand on which is higher in term of quantity loaded in. I am looking on a planning strategy which will sum up both PIR and SO as total demand.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Try Planning Strategy Production By Lot Size (30) it will create planned order by mrp run from PIR and SO, no consumption will do for this planning strategy. This planning strategy commonly used where you want to keep existing sales order in MD04 (usually contract sales type, not a direct sales) as a requirement to generate planned order.
    Here some brief explanation  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/en/cb/7f93d943b711d189410000e829fbbd/content.htm

  • Industry wise planning strategy usage

    Hi,
Could anyone please let me know which industries would typically use planning strategies 10,11,20,40 and also 70. SAP help gives only how to use the strategies not the practical applications.
Any help wwould be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Strategy 10
Choose this strategy if you want production to be determined by a production plan (Demand Management) and if you do not want sales orders to influence production directly.
    Strategy 11
This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
    Strategy 20
In make-to-order production, a product is produced specifically for an individual sales order. This planning strategy is used when planning of the (parent) product is not required or not possible. Neither Demand Management is involved in this process, nor is there an allocation mechanism. Orders are taken as they come. This strategy represents a production procedure in which each product is only produced once, although over time the same or similar production processes are repeated. Each product is specifically produced for an individual customer so that the finished product is rarely placed in stock.
    Strategy 40
This strategy is probably the most widely used make-to-stock strategy. It makes sense to use this planning strategy if you can forecast production quantities for the final product.
Planned independent requirements are consumed by incoming sales orders so that the master plan is always adjusted to suit the current requirements situation. This means that the important feature of this planning strategy is that you can react quickly to customersu2019 requirements. The smoothing of the master plan is less important.
    Strategy 70
If you are going to produce semi finished goods independent of the finished goods then use this strategy. In case lead time of is very high we use this strategy.
    Hope clear to you.

  • When will EK02 appear in the Sales Order?? For different planning strategy?

    Hi Experts,
In our SAP system ,when you create a sales order with a material which planning strategy is
50 Planning without final assembly (MTO) , in the item detail screen , on the "Conditions"
TAB, we will see condition type EK02 and its value.
But when I create a sales order with a material which planning strategy is 40 Planning with
final assembly (MTS),in the item detail screen , on the "Conditions" TAB, condition type
    EK02 will not appear.
I have checked the customizing of our SAP system ,as follows:
For planning strategy 50, the Requirements class is "045"(MTO val. with cons.),and on the
configuration screen of Requirements class,we see "Condition type for copying costs from
line items" (CndTyLineItems) is null ,no value ,not "EK02".
And for planning strategy 50,the the Requirements class is "050"(Warehouse consumpt.) and
and on the configuration screen of Requirements class,we see "Condition type for copying
costs from line items" (CndTyLineItems) is also null ,no value ,not "EK02".
And on the configuration screen of Sale Order Type screen(VOV8), we see  "Condition type for
copying costs from line items" (CndTyLineItems) is "EK02" for all the sales order type we
    have used.
    So I am very confused.
Why material with planning strategy 40 there is no EK02 in the sales order?
Why material with planning strategy 50 there is EK02 in the sales order?
Where is the EK02 come from? The requriement class ? Or the Salse order Type?
Are there any other customizing for Condition type EK02 determination?
    Thanks very for any reply!!

    Hi,
In MTO you will create Process order.
And to Produce a Item you use Sub components that is Raw material
That raw material cost is EK02 which you maintain in the Material Master - Accounting View 1.
You can see cost in the Process Order also .

  • MRP exception message 64 and planning strategy group 52

    Hi Gurus,
I have done extensive search online in the forum to find the route cause why we are getting MRP exception message 64 for a specific material in one of our plants. This exception message does not occur for the same materials which is also produced in another plant.
I was just wondering whether the planning strategy group of 52 in MRP 3 view would have any effect on the frequent occurrence of exception message 64. I know that the 64 message occurs when the routing time is higher than the in house production time. If that's the case where to look for in routing to correct this, apart from this do we need to look at work centers and other details. I'm not a  PP person but still was curious to know see if i could take a shot at it.
Also the MRP settings that we follow in the plant where this problem does not occur is NETCH, Create PR - 2, Schedule lines - 3, create MRP list - 1, Planning mode - 3, scheduling -2
in the plant where the 64 message occurs quite often is Netch, Create PR -2, Schedule lines - 3, create MRP list - 1, planning mode - 1, Schdeduliing - 1
I was  thinking do MRP settings and planning strategy group would have any impact on why we are getting the 64 wexception message
Because of this 63 exception message, the downstream components are getting wrong signals.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi
Generallt, exception message "64 - Production finish after order finish" is triggered when the order start date is in the past and system automatically changes to forward scheduling to calculate the finish date.
Note 1913017 explains how the order basic date is calculated and adjusted in case of forward scheduling, however, you are using strategy 52 and this is a very special scenario, whever VP planned orders are generated.
The VP planned orders will always be adjusted to the requirements date even if the requirements date is in the past. This is a special feature in the planning segment, since these orders are only kind of 'virtual' planned orders. These orders only have to provide the demand requirements for the components in time.
Therefore, there is a relationship between strategy 52 (VP planned order) and the exception message observed.

  • Execution of a planning function with the used dimension values in a crosstab

    Hello,
would like to execute planning functions within Design Studio but I don't really know how I combine this execution with the used dimension values in a crosstab for the .
    Here the requirement:
3 Planning functions which should use the same filter (all values of all dimensions in the crosstab) and which should run one after another:
    // open data slice
    PF_1.execute();
    // generate combinitions
    PF_2.execute();
    // close data slice
    PF_3.execute();
    Many thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Arun,
in general it is not possible to nest planning functions. The inner function would update the data in the plan buffer without the outer function knowing about it. Also the inner function might be on a different aggregation level which would make things very tricky.
Alternatively you can include ABAP logic into a FOX formula:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/94eb78b6394befe10000000a42189d/frameset.htm
Or just create the complete logic in one ABAP planning function type.
