The only oracle JDBC driver that can run with JDK 1.2.x is in the
OTN download area and is named "816SDK for JDK 1.2"
it will work with the JDK 1.2.X using the JDBC 1.22 spec from JDK
1.1.X.
IT DOES NOT PROVIDE THE FULL JDBC 2.0 FEATURES/ FUNCTIONALITY
THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE JDK 1.2.X CLASSES.
you're using a jdk 1.2.x/jdbc 2.0 feature -- which is anticipated
to be included in the 816 driver later this year -- it's not in
the "816SDK" JDBC driver you're using now..
816SDK can be thought of as stepping stone between 815 using jdk
1.1.x and 816 supporting jdk 1.1.x and 1.2.x.
i think of it as "8.1.5 and a half" to avoid the naming confusion
between "816sdk" and "816" .

Problems upgrading to JDBC 5.1 driver for MS SQL Server
Hi,
I recently upgraded to the Weblogic JDBC 5.1 driver for MS SQL Server and I am
now receiving exceptions in my application when attempting to execute a prepared
statement. I was previously using the Weblogic JDBC 4.x driver for MS SQL Server
and everything was working fine without any problems. For some reason I am receiving
a java.lang.CloneNotSupportedException using the new driver. I am using the setLong(),
setString(), and setObject() methods of the PreparedStatement and then attempting
to execute. The application code has not changed, so it seems that something
has changed in the new driver implementation. Has anyone else had this problem
or know a work around? Here is a snippet of the actual exception:

Is it true that the Weblogic jDriver for MS SQL Server is deprecated? That's the
message that I got from BEA Support and here is the link they sent:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/mssqlserver4/install_jmsq4.html#415356
It recommends using Microsoft's JDBC driver instead. Any thoughts on this? From
what I understand and what I have read on the newsgroups, the Microsoft JDBC driver
is still quite buggy and has numerous problems.
Thanks, Nadeem. It is deprecated, but still supported, and is more recent in the download than the one in
the 5.1 server. We do recommend MS's driver, or that of www.inetsoftware.de. The
MS driver is fairly stable now, and may certainly have bugs, as does our driver. The MS
driver is good because it is not deprecated, and supports JDBC 2.0 etc.

What version of 5.1? You should be running with the latest service pack.
If that doesn't help, please download the latest 5.1 driver from our
site, and
make sure it's in the weblogic.classpath ahead of all other stuff, by
editting the
startWeblogic script.

Oracle JDBC Thin Driver for oracle 9.2.0.4
Hi,
It would be nice if someone please guide me to the download of Oracle JDBC Thin Driver for oracle 9.2.0.4.
Thanks in anticipationuser566773,
As far as I know, all Oracle JDBC drivers are meant to be backward compatible.
According to the table on the following Web page, the latest Oracle JDBC driver can be used with Oracle 9.2.0.x DBMS.

Has anybody used the microsoft JDBC 2.0 driver for sql server 2000?
Hi,
Has anybody used the JDBC 2.0 driver for sql server 2000 downloadable from the
microsoft website? When I try using it with WL 6.1 sp1 it says it can't load the
driver.I try viewing the class file from the jar file using the jar utility it
gives an unknown Zip format error.Anybody has any solution for this ?If anybody
has managed to work with this microsoft driver i will be grateful if they provide
me with a solution.
Thanks
ThomasHello Thomas,
You may want to download the driver again and install it again.
heres a sample xml tag in the config.xml:
<JDBCConnectionPool
DriverName="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
InitialCapacity="3" MaxCapacity="12" Name="MSpool"
Password="{3DES}fUz1bxR0zDg=" Properties="user=uid"
Targets="myserver"
URL="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://mydbserver:1433"/>
ensure that you follow the instructions from Microsoft. For using 2000
driver you will need to have
Install_dir/lib/msbase.jar and Install_dir/lib/msutil.jar in addition to
Install_dir/lib/mssqlserver.jar in the CLASSPATH.

Error when SDM JDBC driver for Oracle
When deploying the JDBC driver for Oracle on PI 7.0, I failed to achive. I got the following trace information from SDM.
After checking the system directory structure, I found that very interesting thing. First I downloaded aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda from the directory of ../SAP AG/0/3.0...and zip oracle jdbc driver into it, and I deployed the sda file with SDM back to the system with the option update deployed SDAs that hava any version. Curious the sda file was put into another directory of ../SAP AG/1/3.0... a new directory which was just created during the deployment.
This never happen before and is this the reason why deploy failed.

Help I need to locate a driver for my soundblaster live 24 bit soundcard
My son has been given the following PC games for christmas:-
Command & Conquer 3,
Command & Conquer Red Alert 3,
Arma; Armed Assault,
Medal of Honour: Airborne
The problem he is having installing these 4 games is this. About half way through installation an error message appears that quite simply states "The software you are installing does not bear a WHQL signed driver. This software will not be installed".
The PC we are running is a Dell Dimension 900, that we purchased about 4 years ago, and it was bespoke.
I have run DxDiagnostics and it tells me that the driver for the graphics card is called p7.sys and the sound card are not WHQL logo'd, so how the hell do i download a driver for my soundblaster Li've 24 bit, that does? bear a digital signatre that is WHQL Logo'd. I hope you can help, me please.
Message Edited by simonwicker on 2-26-2008 2:9 PMMessage Edited by simonwicker on 2-26-2008 2:25 Re: Help I need to locate a driver for my soundblaster li've 24 bit soundcard? I guess you and your son are currently using windows xp. Well, what you can do is now is ignoring the WQHL pop-up window and choose the "install anyway" option during the installation of the soundcard driver, since WQHL only means the driver is tested by Microsoft and nothing more; drivers without the WQHL qualification does not mean they are bad drivers, they usually works as good as the WQHL ones.
Ofcourse you can also download the official drivers for the mentioned Soundblaster li've 24bit at Creative Labs support/download site.
here is it:

The driver is for all Soundblaster Audigy Value, SE, LS and Soundblaster Li've 24bit, since they are all based on the CA-006 soundchip (with other words Creative Labs renamed the soundcard several times). Also this driver should be WQHL-ed (if not, choose "install anyway" option during installation of the soundcard driver). Make sure you have uninstalled the older driver before installing the new one. For troubleshooting use utilies like "Driver Cleaner" or "Driver Sweeper" (google for Guru3D and go to the site and their download section to get the utilities/tools) to clean up the junk files of the older driver that are left in the Windows OS.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

Mix Local and Global Transaction using XA Driver for Oracle
Hi all,
We are trying to use a XA Driver which can support both local as well as global
transaction. We tried using the Weblogic jDriver (XA Driver) type 2 that comes
along with Weblogic installation but unfortunaltely it cannot mix local as well
as global transaction.
Please let me know in case we have any XA JDBC driver for Oracle Database which
supports both local and global transaction together.
Thnx,
Kumar
Environment:
Weblogic 8.1 server
Database used : Oracle8iMost database drivers can support local and global transactions, with some
restrictions.
The JDBC spec has been changed to require compliant drivers to let the
application
know if they try to start a global transaction while a local transaction has
not been
completed (or vice verse). So most of the database drivers have been
changed to enforce
this restriction (breaking a lot of code that is out there).
