Help With Api

Hi,
I have a school project to do about a digitial circuit simulator.
i am done most of the parts but i am having a problem with the junit.FrameWork.assert library. The following code gives me an error near assertFalse.
public void testSimpleLine() {
LineParser p = new LineParser();
p.parse("Nand inputInv outputInv");
Node n = Node.getNodeForName("inputInv");
assertFalse(n==null);
n = Node.getNodeForName("outputInv");
assertFalse(n==null);
Can anyone help me resolve the problem

public class LineParser extends Object
    private Simulator simulator = Simulator.getInstance();
    public void parse(String line)
        char[] nodenames = new char[100];
        String [] words = line.split(" ");
        if (words[0].equalsIgnoreCase("nand2"))
            nandoperator(words[1], words[2], words[3]);
        else if (words[0].equalsIgnoreCase("inv"))
            inv(words[1], words[2]);
        else if (words[0].equalsIgnoreCase("set"))
            //simulator.addEvent(new Event(words[1], words[2], words[3]));
        else
            System.out.println ("Invalid request!!");

            System.out.println("Handling event setting Node \t" +            e.getNode() +
            "\t to " + e.getValue() +
            " at " + e.getTime());
            // Inform Node
            Node node = e.getNode();
            node.setValue(e.getValue());
        System.out.println("\nSIMULATION FINISHED");
        System.out.println(numEvents + " Events handled");
        if (numEvents >= maxNE)
            System.out.println("Simulation stopped because " +

  • Help With API Integration

    Our company has decided to use Business Catalyst but we need help with an activation wizard for our product.  This activation is also used to create a recurring monthly billing order.
    We're thinking we need to use the API, here's our basic flow:
    Customer Clicks Activation Button
    Prompted to Login or Register
    Customer looks up unit number (Can be called via a provider API)
           Unit  number is placed into field
    Customer fills in billing information (or can it be pulled via BC API?)
              Name
              Address
              Phone
              Email
              Credit Card Info
    Order is sent to BusinessCatalyst WebServices API to create recurring order
    Billing Information is attached to Provider Database via API
    Customer is forwarded to Subscription_thank_you page (url to be determined later)
    Our team has never worked with the BC API and would like to know the best route to handle this scenario...should we embed the application in an iframe and put the iframe on a page in a secure zone or should we use the API to push user information from our BC site to an app residing on a subdomain?  If anyone has experience with this type of situation or can point us to someone that has, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Ok, we have a solution in the works that includes javascript, but would like to know if we can pass custom arguments through the  /FormProcessv2.aspx script.url so that we could invoke a different receipt - buy page based on url arguments.  We would want to include two hidden field entries that we will be including in the form and will add them using a custom onclick event for the check out form submit button.  This would allow the javascript planted on the receipt - buy page to know what path the buyer is coming from.  We'll have buyers that are buying the normal route, simply adding items to their cart, but will also have people activating their device which includes purchasing a recurring product for which we will use javascript to automatically add to cart.  The receipt - buy page will stay in the original form for all buyers simply adding items to their cart and purchasing, but will change when they are activating.  The passed url arguments will tell our javascript which type of customer they are and will load the page accordingly.  Will  /FormProcessv2.aspx strip out our customer arguments and resort back to the default?
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Help with API implementation!

    Dear All,
    I should be grateful if you could shed some light on the implementation of the public int read(b[], int off, int len) throws IOException method present in the ByteArrayInputStream class in java.io, since the definition, in my opinion is a bit awkward. infact it says that in order to find out the number of byte read, you have to add k, which is the length of bytes read to pos, the index + 1.
    Having access to the implementations of methods in the API, would definitely make a better programmer, I think.
    Thanks for you help!
    Luka

    The Javadoc comment for read isn't very good since it also tells you how it's implemented rather than simply what it does.
    All you need to know to use it is this:
    1) you tell it the number of bytes to read
    2) it returns the actual number of bytes read, k
    3) the bytes read will start at b[k]
    The source for all the core classes is available if you really want to look at it. It's in a file called src.zip or src.jar located in the installation directory of your J2SDK.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help with API and sample code for checking a user's rights on a folder

    Hi All,
    I am working on an UCM integration where user supplies a folderpath (ucm folders), and a file is later uploaded to this location.
    Since a user can provide a folderpath where he has only Read Access or no access at all, we are trying to work out a way to pre-check his permissions on the folder.
    Since we have Entity Security enabled, we have 5 security fields to rely on Account, Security Group, User Access List, Group Access List, Role Access List.
    Writing custom code for this security check is second on our agenda.
    Firstly, we wish to know the API and sample code that typically performs this Security Check in UCM.
    We could find intradoc.shared.SecurityUtils which has methods to check security on SGroup and Account, but we couldn't find anything for:
    1) Overall security check
    2) ACL security check on top of sgroup and account security check

    Any ideas anyone?!
    I am looking forward to some pointers here. :(

  • Need help with API for contract creation

    Hi,
    Using OKS_IBINT_PUB.IB_INTERFACE API, how do I populate the Known As (COGNOMEN) column of okc_k_headers_tl? The API does not provide any parameter for this. I can resort to a direct update to the table, but this API does not return any contract information(ID) based on which I can safely update the record.
    TIA,
    Alka.

    Hi,
    You got to define the Document Types in the System Setup form of OKE at Setup --> System Setup, then you could eneter type of a Contarct.
    Master Agreement is the Basic Ordering Agreement, Master Purchase Agreement or Blanket Agreement.

  • Help with Java script

    So , I edited the ITunes.java as described in the Admin guide.Copied the .class to my cgi folder in the server.I copied the itunesu file from the shell folder of the sample code.I have modified it accordingly.But when I run it in browser(Firefox) as ..../cgi-bin/itunesu it just gives me a blank page.Nothing shows up.I ran the ITunes.java file locally and it generates an HTML output, which I copied and created a new html.After I run this HTML file, it opens my itunes, but again it says page not found and url contains https://www.xxx.edu/cgi-bin/itunesu?destination=xxx.edu where xxx is my institution name.Not sure if I am supposed to display my institution name in forum.
    The admin guide says on page 15 step 4.Copy the itunes.class file and other itunes file to your web server's cgi-bin directory.
    I am not quiet sure what does other itunes file mean??
    This is how my .java file looks.

    The itunes file from Shell folder has been modified as follows
    DISPLAY_NAME= "myname"
    EMAIL_ADDRESS="[email protected]"
    USERNAME="mylogin"
    USER_IDENTIFIER="1243"
    all the other things in that file have been untouched.
    I also generated the debug which looks like this
    iTunes U Access Debugging
    Received
    Destination xxx.edu
    Identity "my name" <[email protected]> (mylogin) [1243]
    Credentials Administrator@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:xxx.edu
    Time 1196706873
    Signature 533870b8jshdidk333lfsf6a3143a55c132ec548a4d545bd79322402e8e2596e4
    Analysis
    The destination string is valid and the corresponding destination item was found.
    The identity string is valid and provides the following information:
    Display Name my name
    Email Address [email protected]
    Username mylogin
    User Identifier 1243
    The credential string is valid and contains the following recognized credential:
    1. Administrator@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:xxx.edu
    The time string is valid and corresponds to 2007-12-03 18:34:33Z.
    The signature string is valid.
    Access
    Because the received signature and time were valid, the received identity and credentials were accepted by iTunes U.
    In addition, the following 2 credentials were automatically added by iTunes U:
    1. All@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:xxx.edu
    2. Authenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:xxx.edu
    With these credentials, you have browsing, downloading, uploading, and editing access to the requested destination.
    I am pretty new to this, and working on this for the first time.If someone could guide me through this would be pretty helpful.

    This is only going to work under IE !
    Go to your page template :
    Modify the definition, make sur you have this :
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>#TITLE#</title>
    #HEAD#

    Browser = navigator.appName
    Net = Browser.indexOf("Netscape")
    Micro = Browser.indexOf("Microsoft")
    Netscape = false
    IE = false
    if(Net >= 0) {Netscape = true}
    if(Micro >= 0) {IE = true}
    function XYpos() {
    if (IE == true) {
    xPos = event.screenX
    yPos = event.screenY
    alert(xPos + " left " + yPos + " down")
    else if (Netscape == true) {alert("Script won't work: " + "\n" + "You're using Netscape")}
    </script>
    Modify the body definition, make sure you have this :
    <body #ONLOAD# onMouseDown = XYpos()>
    I didnt try it but it make sens to me... tell me if it works!

  • Need help with Berkeley XML DB Performance

    We need help with maximizing performance of our use of Berkeley XML DB. I am filling most of the 29 part question as listed by Oracle's BDB team.
    Berkeley DB XML Performance Questionnaire
    1. Describe the Performance area that you are measuring? What is the
    current performance? What are your performance goals you hope to
    achieve?
    We are measuring the performance while loading a document during
    web application startup. It is currently taking 10-12 seconds when
    only one user is on the system. We are trying to do some testing to
    get the load time when several users are on the system.
    We would like the load time to be 5 seconds or less.
    2. What Berkeley DB XML Version? Any optional configuration flags
    specified? Are you running with any special patches? Please specify?
    dbxml 2.4.13. No special patches.
    3. What Berkeley DB Version? Any optional configuration flags
    specified? Are you running with any special patches? Please Specify.
    bdb 4.6.21. No special patches.
    4. Processor name, speed and chipset?
    Intel Xeon CPU 5150 2.66GHz
    5. Operating System and Version?
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Relase 4 Update 6
    6. Disk Drive Type and speed?
    Don't have that information
    7. File System Type? (such as EXT2, NTFS, Reiser)
    EXT3
    8. Physical Memory Available?
    4GB
    9. Are you using Replication (HA) with Berkeley DB XML? If so, please
    describe the network you are using, and the number of Replica’s.
    No
    10. Are you using a Remote Filesystem (NFS) ? If so, for which
    Berkeley DB XML/DB files?
    No
    11. What type of mutexes do you have configured? Did you specify
    –with-mutex=? Specify what you find inn your config.log, search
    for db_cv_mutex?
    None. Did not specify -with-mutex during bdb compilation
    12. Which API are you using (C++, Java, Perl, PHP, Python, other) ?
    Which compiler and version?
    Java 1.5
    13. If you are using an Application Server or Web Server, please
    provide the name and version?
    Oracle Appication Server 10.1.3.4.0
    14. Please provide your exact Environment Configuration Flags (include
    anything specified in you DB_CONFIG file)
    Default.
    15. Please provide your Container Configuration Flags?
    final EnvironmentConfig envConf = new EnvironmentConfig();
    envConf.setAllowCreate(true); // If the environment does not
    // exist, create it.
    envConf.setInitializeCache(true); // Turn on the shared memory
    // region.
    envConf.setInitializeLocking(true); // Turn on the locking subsystem.
    envConf.setInitializeLogging(true); // Turn on the logging subsystem.
    envConf.setTransactional(true); // Turn on the transactional
    // subsystem.
    envConf.setLockDetectMode(LockDetectMode.MINWRITE);
    envConf.setThreaded(true);
    envConf.setErrorStream(System.err);
    envConf.setCacheSize(1024*1024*64);
    envConf.setMaxLockers(2000);
    envConf.setMaxLocks(2000);
    envConf.setMaxLockObjects(2000);
    envConf.setTxnMaxActive(200);
    envConf.setTxnWriteNoSync(true);
    envConf.setMaxMutexes(40000);
    16. How many XML Containers do you have? For each one please specify:
    One.
    1. The Container Configuration Flags
              XmlContainerConfig xmlContainerConfig = new XmlContainerConfig();
              xmlContainerConfig.setTransactional(true);
    xmlContainerConfig.setIndexNodes(true);
    xmlContainerConfig.setReadUncommitted(true);
    2. How many documents?
    Everytime the user logs in, the current xml document is loaded from
    a oracle database table and put it in the Berkeley XML DB.
    The documents get deleted from XML DB when the Oracle application
    server container is stopped.
    The number of documents should start with zero initially and it
    will grow with every login.
    3. What type (node or wholedoc)?
    Node
    4. Please indicate the minimum, maximum and average size of
    documents?
    The minimum is about 2MB and the maximum could 20MB. The average
    mostly about 5MB.
    5. Are you using document data? If so please describe how?
    We are using document data only to save changes made
    to the application data in a web application. The final save goes
    to the relational database. Berkeley XML DB is just used to store
    temporary data since going to the relational database for each change
    will cause severe performance issues.
    17. Please describe the shape of one of your typical documents? Please
    do this by sending us a skeleton XML document.
    Due to the sensitive nature of the data, I can provide XML schema instead.
    18. What is the rate of document insertion/update required or
    expected? Are you doing partial node updates (via XmlModify) or
    replacing the document?
    The document is inserted during user login. Any change made to the application
    data grid or other data components gets saved in Berkeley DB. We also have
    an automatic save every two minutes. The final save from the application
    gets saved in a relational database.
    19. What is the query rate required/expected?
    Users will not be entering data rapidly. There will be lot of think time
    before the users enter/modify data in the web application. This is a pilot
    project but when we go live with this application, we will expect 25 users
    at the same time.
    20. XQuery -- supply some sample queries
    1. Please provide the Query Plan
    2. Are you using DBXML_INDEX_NODES?
    Yes.
    3. Display the indices you have defined for the specific query.
         XmlIndexSpecification spec = container.getIndexSpecification();
         // ids
         spec.addIndex("", "id", XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_NODE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ATTRIBUTE | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         spec.addIndex("", "idref", XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_NODE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ATTRIBUTE | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         // index to cover AttributeValue/Description
         spec.addIndex("", "Description", XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_EDGE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ELEMENT | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_SUBSTRING, XmlValue.STRING);
         // cover AttributeValue/@value
         spec.addIndex("", "value", XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_EDGE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ATTRIBUTE | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         // item attribute values
         spec.addIndex("", "type", XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_EDGE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ATTRIBUTE | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         // default index
         spec.addDefaultIndex(XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_NODE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ELEMENT | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         spec.addDefaultIndex(XmlIndexSpecification.PATH_NODE | XmlIndexSpecification.NODE_ATTRIBUTE | XmlIndexSpecification.KEY_EQUALITY, XmlValue.STRING);
         // save the spec to the container
         XmlUpdateContext uc = xmlManager.createUpdateContext();
         container.setIndexSpecification(spec, uc);
    4. If this is a large query, please consider sending a smaller
    query (and query plan) that demonstrates the problem.
    21. Are you running with Transactions? If so please provide any
    transactions flags you specify with any API calls.
    Yes. READ_UNCOMMITED in some and READ_COMMITTED in other transactions.
    22. If your application is transactional, are your log files stored on
    the same disk as your containers/databases?
    Yes.
    23. Do you use AUTO_COMMIT?
         No.
    24. Please list any non-transactional operations performed?
    No.
    25. How many threads of control are running? How many threads in read
    only mode? How many threads are updating?
    We use Berkeley XML DB within the context of a struts web application.
    Each user logged into the web application will be running a bdb transactoin
    within the context of a struts action thread.
    26. Please include a paragraph describing the performance measurements
    you have made. Please specifically list any Berkeley DB operations
    where the performance is currently insufficient.
    We are clocking 10-12 seconds of loading a document from dbd when
    five users are on the system.
    getContainer().getDocument(documentName);
    27. What performance level do you hope to achieve?
    We would like to get less than 5 seconds when 25 users are on the system.
    28. Please send us the output of the following db_stat utility commands
    after your application has been running under "normal" load for some
    period of time:
    % db_stat -h database environment -c
    % db_stat -h database environment -l
    % db_stat -h database environment -m
    % db_stat -h database environment -r
    % db_stat -h database environment -t
    (These commands require the db_stat utility access a shared database
    environment. If your application has a private environment, please
    remove the DB_PRIVATE flag used when the environment is created, so
    you can obtain these measurements. If removing the DB_PRIVATE flag
    is not possible, let us know and we can discuss alternatives with
    you.)
    If your application has periods of "good" and "bad" performance,
    please run the above list of commands several times, during both
    good and bad periods, and additionally specify the -Z flags (so
    the output of each command isn't cumulative).
    When possible, please run basic system performance reporting tools
    during the time you are measuring the application's performance.
    For example, on UNIX systems, the vmstat and iostat utilities are
    good choices.
    Will give this information soon.
    29. Are there any other significant applications running on this
    system? Are you using Berkeley DB outside of Berkeley DB XML?
    Please describe the application?
    No to the first two questions.
    The web application is an online review of test questions. The users
    login and then review the items one by one. The relational database
    holds the data in xml. During application load, the application
    retrieves the xml and then saves it to bdb. While the user
    is making changes to the data in the application, it writes those
    changes to bdb. Finally when the user hits the SAVE button, the data
    gets saved to the relational database. We also have an automatic save
    every two minues, which saves bdb xml data and saves it to relational
    database.
    Thanks,
    Madhav

    Could it be that you simply do not have set up indexes to support your query? If so, you could do some basic testing using the dbxml shell:
    milu@colinux:~/xpg > dbxml -h ~/dbenv
    Joined existing environment
    dbxml> setverbose 7 2
    dbxml> open tv.dbxml
    dbxml> listIndexes
    dbxml> query     { collection()[//@date-tip]/*[@chID = ('ard','zdf')] (: example :) }
    dbxml> queryplan { collection()[//@date-tip]/*[@chID = ('ard','zdf')] (: example :) }Verbosity will make the engine display some (rather cryptic) information on index usage. I can't remember where the output is explained; my feeling is that "V(...)" means the index is being used (which is good), but that observation may not be accurate. Note that some details in the setVerbose command could differ, as I'm using 2.4.16 while you're using 2.4.13.
    Also, take a look at the query plan. You can post it here and some people will be able to diagnose it.

  • HELP WITH OCR

    Hello All. Thank Adobe for products and open SDK for developers it is useful.
    Please could anybody help me and may be some other developers with plug-in witch works with OCR.
    I try to OCR pdf file with 3 image pages inside, with help of Acrobat X 10.0.3 selfmade plug-in.
    There is minimum code inside my plug-in: just call OCR like:
    ASAtom cmdName;
    AVCommand cmd;
    cmdName      = ASAtomFromString("PaperCapture");
    cmd               = AVCommandNew (cmdName);
    ASCab config = ASCabNew();
    ASCabPutInt (config, "UIPolicy", kAVCommandUISilent);
    AVCommandSetConfig (cmd, config);
    AVCommandStatus status = AVCommandExecute (cmd);
    All works fine, but during OCR process Acrobat shows "uncnown error on page 2" then "uncnown error on page 3" message with OK button.
    It happends when OCR at the end of the working with page when during creating outgouing content. It may be the bug inside OCR module.
    I try to separate all pages and page-by-page OCR works fine. Please help me and other users that try to make plug-ins to fix this.
    Best regards,
    Karpov M.A.

    I don't see a link to the file.
    1 - There is a way to report bugs to Adobe, but I don't have the URL handy.  Try a web search.
    2 – You can use the various PDDoc & PDPage APIs to create new docs, and reassemble.

  • Help with java mapping

    PI File adapter has a processing option u2018Empty-Message Handlingu2019 to ignore or Write Empty Files. In case there is no data created after mapping on target side then this option determines whether to write an empty file or not. But there is a catch to this option when it comes to using it with File Content Conversion which is described in SAP Note u2018821267u2019. It states following:
    I configure the receiver channel with File content conversion mode and I set the 'Empty Message Handling' option to ignore. Input payload to the receiver channel is generated out of mapping and it does not have any record sets. However, this payload has a root element. Why does file receiver create empty output file with zero byte size in the target directory?  Example of such a payload generated from mapping is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns1:test xmlns:ns1="http://abcd.com/ab"></ns1:test>
    solution :
    If the message payload is empty (i.e., zero bytes in size), then File adapter's empty message handling feature does NOT write files into the target directory. On the other hand, if the payload is a valid XML document (as shown in example) that is generated from mapping with just a root element in it, the File Adapter does not treat it as an empty message and accordingly it writes to the target directory. To achieve your objective of not writing files (that have just a single root element) into the target directory, following could be done:
    Using a Java or ABAP Mapping in order to restrict the creation of node itself during mapping. (This cannot be achieved via Message Mapping)
    Using standard adapter modules to do content conversion first and then write file.
    can someone help with java mapping that can be used in this case?

    Hi,
        You have not mentioned the version of PI you are working in. In case you are working with PI 7.1 or above then here is the java mapping code you need to add after message mapping in the same interface mapping

         genFormat.execute(in,out);
         catch(Exception e)
         e.printStackTrace();
    The code for PI 7.0 should also work for PI 7.1 provided you use the right jar files for compilation, but vice-versa is not true.
    Could you please let us know if this code was useful to you or not?

    The only way to get more consistent behavior across devices is to use the low level API -- Canvas, not Form. You cannot interfere with device-dependent implementations of the layout of a Form.

  • Set the ACL with API by non-admin user

    Hi experts,
    We are enhancing the file upload functionalities with setting the readers of the documents. The upload user is not admin user but he can have the full control or permission owner of the folder, but we found he can't still setting the ACL of the documents he created in the folder. While if he has the admin role, he can setting the ACL successfully.
    Can the permission owner be inherited? Or any other way to achieve this? Urgent! Any helpful anwser will be reward, many tks!!!!

    Hi,
    If you are doing it with API, always post the code.
    Did you check the logfile for exception, also post them.
    Is the current user permission owner of the folder/file?
    If not he cannot assign permissions/ACL.
    Check this for more:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/dc/2a2a17b8ae11d5993900508b6b8b11/frameset.htm
    Inheriting permission owner:
    If you save permissions on folder/file, the system stops inheriting permissions for the object in question.
    But already inherited ACL exist on the folder/file.

  • Help with: oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.ValidationException

    hi guys,
    I really need ur help with this.
    I have a remote session bean that retrieves a list of books from the database using entity class and I call the session bean from a web service. The problem is that when i display the books in a jsp directly from the session bean everything works ok but the problem comes when I call the session bean via the web service than it throws this:
    Exception Description: An attempt was made to traverse a relationship using indirection that had a null Session. This often occurs when an entity with an uninstantiated LAZY relationship is serialized and that lazy relationship is traversed after serialization. To avoid this issue, instantiate the LAZY relationship prior to serialization.

    Yes i have a relationship but i didnt want it to be directly. Maybe this is a design problem but in my case I dont expect any criminals to be involved in lawsuit. My tables are like that:
    CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS Criminal(
         criminal_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
         gender varchar(1),
         name varchar(25) NOT NULL,
         last_address varchar(100),
         birth_date date,
         hair_color varchar(10),
         eye_color varchar(10),
         weight INTEGER,
         height INTEGER,
         PRIMARY KEY (criminal_id)
    ENGINE=INNODB;
    CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS Lawsuit(
         lawsuit_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
         courtName varchar(25),
         PRIMARY KEY (lawsuit_id),
         FOREIGN KEY (courtName) REFERENCES Court_of_Law(courtName) ON DELETE NO ACTION
    ENGINE=INNODB;
    CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS Rstands_trial(
         criminal_id INTEGER,
         lawsuit_id INTEGER,
         PRIMARY KEY (criminal_id, lawsuit_id),
         FOREIGN KEY (criminal_id) REFERENCES Criminal(criminal_id) ON DELETE NO ACTION,
         FOREIGN KEY (lawsuit_id) REFERENCES Lawsuit(lawsuit_id) ON DELETE CASCADE
    ENGINE=INNODB;So I couldnt get it.

  • Help with JAVA StringObject - & assign user input; StringMethod

    Hi Everyone! I need help with this Java Program, I need to write a program, single class, & file. That will prompt the user to enter a word. The output will be separted by hypens and do this until the user enters exit. I think this is done by using a string variable. Then use the length of the word to setup a loop to print each letter out with hypens. (example c-a-t)
    1. I think I should store the word like this: Word.Method(). Not sure of this the API was confusing for me because I wasn't sure of what to do.
    2. A string method to find out how many letters are in the user's word in order to setup a loop to print each letter out. I think I can use a While loop to accomplish this?
    3. A string method to access each letter in a string object individually in order to print individual letters to the screen with those hypens. This is really confusing for me? Can this be accomplished in the While loop? or do I declare variables in the main method.
    Any examples you can refer me to would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Getting user input:
    This may look strange to a newbie but there's nothing much you can do since you wanted a single class file:import java.io.*
    public class InputTest {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
          System.out.println("Hi! Please type a word and press enter.");
          String lineReadFromUser = in.readLine();
          System.out.println("You typed " + lineReadFromUser);
    }You can get the lenght of a String using the length() method. Example: int len = "Foobar".length();
    You can get the individual characters of a String with the charAt() method. Example: char firstCharOfString = string.charAt(0);
    (remember that the argument must be from 0 to length-1)
    You can access the documentation of all classes, including java.lang.String, at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/index.html You can also download the docs.
