Help with creating a 3D text intro for youtube channel

Ok so I am completely new to this program and was hoping you guys can refer me to tutorial that can sort off give what I want
Bassically what I want to create is text that pops from the ground like on airbender where they bend ground
( I know its not a good explination ) I just want my text ( SandMan ) starting on a flat surface then instantly pops out
from the ground sending some sand particalls all over the screen. Should be about 10 - 15 seconds long
So if you guys could refer me to a nice tutorial ( I looked everywhere could not find it ) it would be great
or you guys can see it as a challenge and maybe make it yourselfs

First, you need to learn the basics:

After that, feel free to ask specific questions about the individual parts of the process that are giving you trouble.

  • Help with creating a user input BTree for hierarchy structure

    I have been trying to create code that takes a user input string
    ex: a:b,c;b:g,h,j;g:k,m;b:u
    note: (the above string is then stored into a string array such in the format a:bc;b:ghj;g:km;b:u after it is verified that the hierarchy order is correct)
    The string is read in such that the any value before the : is a parent and its childern continue until a ; is found. Anyway verifying the sting I have accomplished and I have been able to input the string into a modified binary tree as long as there are only 2 childern per parent and graphically represents its structure of hierarchy. The problem is that each parent can have more the two childern.
    I have been working with the BTree class and find its output similar to what I am wanting which would represent a hierarchy of objects (files, employees, etc...) anyway I have been stumped as to how to get the above string into a format that can then create the correct BTree output without hard code.
    If any one has any suggestions on how to turn the data, in the string array into a usable format to create the correct BTree output, I would greatly appreciate it.
    In the above example the string array, a:bc;b:ghj;g:km;b:u would have a desired ouput of
    a
    ..b
    ....g
    ......k
    ......m
    ....h
    ....j
    ....u
    ..c
    Thanks
    Shane

    OOPS! I ment to say JTree not BTree

    Looking to create editable PDF forms with drop downs and text boxes for use on a Mac computer and iPad. Which product do I need to purchase? Do not need anything fancy

    Basically you would need Acrobat. However, it is now also possible to create basic form fields using just the free Reader. In fact, I've been working on a tool that allows you to do it, so if you're interested in it please contact me privately.

    Use the Question class to define a Quiz class. A

  • Need help with creating a brush

    Hi guys,
    I wanted to ask for help with creating a brush (even a link to a tutorial will be goon enough ).
    I got this sample:
    I've created a brush from it, and i'm trying to get this kind of result:
    but it's only duplicates it and gives me this result:
    Can someone help me please understand what i need to define in order to make the brush behave like a continues brush instead of duplicate it?
    Thank you very much
    shlomit

    what you need to do is make a brush that looks like the tip of a brush. photoshop has several already but you can make your own that will be better.
    get a paintbrush and paint a spot kind of like what you did but dont paint a stroke. make it look kindof grungy. then make your brush from that, making sure to desaturate it and everything.
    EDIT:
    oh, and if you bring the fill down to like 10-20% your stroke will look better

  • Need help with a customized interactive web application for  apparel

    Help!!!!
    Hi I am a web designer at beginners stage with web
    devlopment. I am seeking guidance on how to develop a customized
    interactive web application so that the end user can change color
    and patterns of apparel on vector images such as teamsports
    uniforms and tshirts. Once the design is customized to their liking
    they can save it with all of the spec information in a file to
    there desktop or to a database to send to the manufacturer.
    Also looking for a possible way to use a CMS so I can upload
    templates of the garment easily for the end user to customize
    online. Can this be done and if so how? This is an example the kind
    of application I am looking for:
    http://www.dynamicteamsports.com/elite/placeorder.jsp
    I am in desperate need of some brilliant developer to help
    with this.
    Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to assist or give
    me guidance,
    Danka
    "Reap what you sew"

    some parts of that are doable using non-advanced skills, but
    will be difficult and unwieldly if there are more than a few
    colors/patterns.
    saving the image to the server is a bit more advanced and
    you're going to need some server-side scripting like php, perl, asp
    etc. in addition to some flash programming ability.

    Help with creating a form, I want to add a check box to enable me to unlock certain fields and deselect the block again

    Look to the right under "More Like This". Your issue has been discussed many many times. The error you are seeing is because you do not have enough free "contiguous" space on your hard drive. Read the other threads that address this issue to find how to solve the issue.
    Or, put "The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved" into the search box at the upper right of this page.

  • I need help with creating PDF with Preview...

    Hello
    I need help with creating PDF documetns with Preview. Just a few days ago, I was able to create PDF files composed of scanned images (notes) and everything worked perfectly fine. However, today I was having trouble with it. I scanned my notebook and saved 8 images/pages in jpeg format. I did the usual routine with Preview (select all files>print>PDF>save as PDF>then save). Well this worked a few days ago, but when I tried it today, I was able to save it, but the after opening the PDF file that I have saved, only the first page was there. The other pages weren't included. I really don't see anything wrong with what I'm doing. I really need help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I can't find it.  I went into advanced and then document processing but no batch sequence is there and everything is grayed out.
    EDIT: I realized that you cant do batch sequences in standard.  Any other ideas?

  • I need help with creating some formulas

    I'm not sure if anyone around here can help me, but I'm trying to create a Numbers document and need some help with creating a formula/function.
    I have a column of amounts and I would like to create a formula which deducts a percentage (11.9%) and puts the result in another column.
    If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is an example that shows one way to do this:
    The original data is in column A.  In column B we will store formulas to adjust the amounts:
    1) select the cell where you want to formula (in this case cell B2)
    2) Type the "=" (equal sign):
    3) click cell A2:
    4) now type the rest of the formula which is: "*(100-11.9)/100"  that is asterisk, then open parenthesis, 100 minus eleven point nine close parenthesis forward slash  one hundred
    The Asterisk is the multiply operator  (times) and the forward slash is the division operator (divide)
    now hit return.  select cell B2 and hover the cursor over the bottom edge of the cell:
    drag the little yellow dot down to "fill" the formula down as needed.

  • Need help with creating text anchors with tagged text.

    Can anyone tell me how to determine the correct value for a "Hyperlink Dest Index" value?
    I have a script which creates a tagged text file that specifies about about 280 pages of tables (thank heavens for autoflow) , and would like to add live links between different parts. I can create a text anchor and a hyperlink to it in InDesign. The tagged text definition for the link source is simple and in-line and exports and imports nicely as tagged text. However, I see that all the link destinations, aka  text anchors, are all exported at the very end of the tagged text files as global definitions, and thier location iin the document is specified by the property HyperlinkDestIndex. However, I can't figure out how to set this value progammatically. I've spent over an hour exporting links, and it sure isn't anything as obvious as character index in the story.
    Any advice appreciated,
      Read Roberts

    Read, I'm not sure the following is going to help you. It works for external hyperlinks, but you want internal links, right? Anyway, it might give you some clues.
    A funny thing: I was reviewing some script where I got links to work, and I spotted a tiny coding error. Links seemed to be defined by two separate identifiers: a "link name", which is what appears in Edit Hyperlink dialog, and a "Dest Key", which seems to be a simple increasing number. However, due to aformentioned coding error, the dest keys between the actual link and its definition were off by '1', so there was no way that ought to have matched. But it still worked! So "Dest Key" is a red herring ...
    As far as I understand, it works like this (for hyperlinks): in your text, you have
    HplName -- this is actually the 'title' that appears in the Hyperlink palette
    HplDest -- this is the 'internal name'
    DestKey. Hm. Perhaps you could omit this, per above obsvn.
    CharStyleRef, the name of the auto-applied style
    Hid -- seems to be always '0'
    HplOff: the "offset" from this entire command to the start of the hyperlink, in InDesign characters.
    HplLen: the "length" from the hyperlinked text, in InDesign characters.
    and in the list of 'proper' definitions, those that appear at the very end of your file:
    HplDestDfn -- the internal name again
    DestKey -- see above
    HplDestUrl -- finally! A real URL! (But you must escape lots of characters, such as the forward slash and colon.)
    Hid -- again, always seems to be '0'.
    Some of these items are perhaps optional, but experimenting with what may be left out only lead to frustration The Tagged Text guide is far from complete, as I'm sure you already knew.
    As noted, some (or all) of the named items need a backslash escape for a few characters, but I can't find a definitive way to determine in advance what is 'good' and what is 'not good'.
    The following script creates a Tagged Text file with a couple of working hyperlinks in it -- I don't know if this is of any help for your internal links.
    var hyperlinkDest = [];
    var text = "This is some text with a link [http://www.jongware.com/idjshelp.html] and another one [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1014617?tstart=0] in it.";
    var tagtext = text.replace (/\[(.+?)\]/g, function (full, match)
                        return makelink (match, 'title:'+match, match, match);
    // When done processing plain text, add the destinations at the end:
    tagtext += hyperlinkDest.join('');
    tagFile = File(Folder.myDocuments+'/__tmp.txt');
    if (tagFile.open('w') == false)
              alert ("Unable to create temporary file!");
              exit();
    if (File.fs == "Windows")
              tagFile.write ("<ASCII-WIN>\n");
    else
              tagFile.write ("<ASCII-MAC>\n");
    tagFile.write ("<dcs:HYPERLINK=<cu:1>>\n");
              tagFile.write (tagtext);
    tagFile.close();
    // 'text' is the actual text that will be clickable
    // 'title' is what will appear in the Hyperlinks palette
    // 'name' is the internal name in the Edit Hyperlink dialog
    // 'url' is the actual URL that will be linked to
    function makelink (text, title, name, url)
              var destkey = hyperlinkDest.length;
              // In URL you must escape forward slashes and colons
              // .. and some other characters as well, by the way. There seems to be no list
              url = url.replace(/\//g, '\\/').replace(/:/g, '\\:');
              hyperlinkDest.push ('<HplDestDfn:=<HplDestName:'+name+'><DestKey:'+String(destkey)+'><HplDestUrl:'+url+'><Hid:0>>');
              return '<Hpl:=<HplName:'+title+'><HplDest:'+name+'><DestKey:'+String(destkey)+'><CharStyleRef:HYPERLINK><Hid:0><Brdrv:0><HplOff:0><HplLen:'+String(text.length)+'>>'+text;

  • Help with Creating a Jeopardy Game for Classroom Teacher

    Hi,
    I am a middle school teacher and would like to create a Flash Jeopardy game for the teachers at our school to use on our school website.  I would like a game similar to the game on http://www.superteachertools.com/jeopardy/.
    I have been able to successfully create a flash jeopardy game that uses a xml file.  My problem is that I have to have a swf file and an xml file for every game we create.  I want to be able to have one swf file that will load many different Jeopardy games.
    I am using Flash CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, and MySQL.  The files I have created are here:  http://www.marylynnewilliams.com/MaryLynneWilliams/test/DownloadZIP/JeopardyGames.php
    There is also a zip file:  http://www.marylynnewilliams.com/MaryLynneWilliams/test/DownloadZIP/Jeopardy.zip
    If anyone has time to help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mary Lynne

    Hi
    I've had a look at your zip files, and with the best will in the world what your asking for is way beyond what one individual here is willing to invest.
    First of all, this is AS2.0 on the Timeline, most Coders don't do this anymore. It's AS3.0 and Classes now.
    If your able to invest a little time and patient in learning AS3 the rewards are far greater.
    I'm sorry this might not be the answer you where looking for, but it's best you find out now than waiting indefinitely and getting no further with your project.
    Best Regards
    The Feldkircher

  • Help with creating oracle text index on 2 columns with partial html data

    create index Bid_Title_Desc_Index on Bid(description) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters ('LEXER bid_lexer DATASTORE Title_Description_Pref sync (every "sysdate+(1/24)") filter ctxsys.null_filter section group htmgroup');
    The problem is when I do a CONTAINS(description, '$(auction)')>0. I get results where the descriptions have the "auction" word (which is correct). But, the results also returned rows where the search word is inside an IMG tag. e.g. <img src="http://auction.de/120483" alt="Auction Logo"/>.
    What I would like is to exclude rows where the search word is inside HTML tag attributes, results expected are rows having <a>Auction</a> or <p>For Auction</p> ... etc. Basically stripping the html tags and leave the text contents.
    I'd appreciate some input.

  • Help with exporting Deski to text file via Web Intelligence

    We are currently converting from BO version 5 to BO XI rev2. I have a report that must be scheduled to a flie in plain text format. I am using a deski report. When I save as to text, the file is fine. When I schedule it in webi, the file seems to be missing the end of line character for each row in the table, so it cannot be used for an import to another program. Can anybody help with this?-

    well, in that case you need to determine if this issue only happens with a perticular report or all of them, if it happens only with reports imported from 5.x or with newly created reports as well.
    Looks like it is happening only when report is exported from Infoview, not in the Deski client. This might indicate a problem at the Web Apllication server (tomcat or one you use).
    If this issue is happening with any report - it might be a bug. In that case you have no options as there are no more patches for XIR2.
    On the other hand - if all you need is to extract data for consumption in another tool , why not use Data integrator instead ?
    Also, if this desn't work in Deski - does it work if you convert your reports to webi and export from those ?

  • Help with creating online manual

    I have to load our company's SOP manual to the website and I'd like to make sure the way I am thinking is best to do it is actually the best way.
    This manual is about 140 pages when printed with sections and subsections.  So for example Section 1 is called "General" and under "General" there are 20 subsections which are notated by numbering: 1.1.1; 1.2.1; 1.3.1 and then inside subsection 1.3.1 is 1.3.2; 1.3.3; 1.3.4 and so on.  The owner wants this manual to be indexed on the side.  The only way I can think of to create this look and have the index work is to use........ tables......  yes I said a bad word  LOL  But seriously if there is a better way I am all up for someone pointing me to a different direction.
    But here is an example of what I am looking to accomplish:

            1.3.1  Compliance
            1.3.2  Paid Time Off
            1.3.3  Confidentiality

    Then to the right of what I typed above will be the main page section each subsection and there will be a heading looking something like this:
    Header 1
    Header 2
    Header 3
    Header 4
    Department:  All
    Type:  General
    Effective:
    Revision
    Number:
    Topic:
    Approvals:
    And here will be the text to coincide with the section, subsection, topic
    So I think I just need to have the subsection number be a page link to the heading for that section
    Again, only way I can see this would work is to use tables.
    I hope I have explained the goal and I would like some feedback.  Thanks!

    Having been down this path several times in the past, I don't think Dreamweaver is the right tool for the job.
    Online manuals which work are all about content, content, content actually being used by the people to whom it is directed. Few people want to read a dry manual.
    Good online manuals are built using tools which offer single source, multi-author collaborative editing and multi-format output via a single click, no re-formatting or tweaking (HTML, PDF, mobile etc).
    Successful online manuals must
    be highly structured (for step by step) yet flexible (for occasional reference),
    be easy to edit (may require several content contributors simultaneously accessing the source files from any computer),
    offer fast and relevant indexing and search features so users can find what they want instantly. Menus in online manuals are great but, in practice, few people use them.
    be easy to update and deploy to multiple platforms regularly. I have often seen content updated hourly across several platforms, and users want an easy indication of which content has been recently added or updated. The software would ideally automate this.
    be easy to use in any format (desktop, laptop, tablet, printed page, mobile/cell phone (iPhone, Android etc)
    allow the use of multimedia. Users have different learning styles: reading text is one way. Also available are audio, video, interactivity, quizzes to test comprehension and more. How easy is it for content authors to add or update these?
    be adaptable as the web evolves (hard one)
    This to me is a job for a specialised Help Authoring Tool such as Adobe Robohelp, Help and Manual (my favourite) or similar. Other tools are likely to frustrate and never be used so the manual never gets updated.
