Help with estimation of e

Question

Can someone help me with this program. I keep getting 2 as the answer for all the values when estimating the value of as in :
e = 1 + 1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3! + ... 1/n!
I am not sure where the code is going wrong!

You cast (1/denom) only after the division has been made. denom and 1 are both integers. So you're making an integer division, which starting with the third term will always evalute to zero.
You want to make the division using floating points. This should work, I believe:
e += 1.0 / denom;Or perhaps
e += 1.0 / (double)denom;You might want to declare e to be a double rather than a float.
Also for clarity and reuse I'd suggest refactoring the factorial calculation out into its own method.
