HELP WITH STATIC JAVA!!!

How I can run c++ function from static JAVA! I would appreciate very much your responses!!

How I can run c++ function from static JAVA! I would
appreciate very much your responses!!Here is what I've always done to handle this situation. Assume for this example that you have two files, Caller.java and Callee.cpp. You have code in Caller.java that needs to call a method that exists inside Callee.cpp.
1) Rename Callee.cpp to Callee.java. Compile Callee.java (formerly Callee.cpp) using javac. Ignore any warnings you might see--they don't matter. The compiler isn't as smart as the linker.
2) Link the two files together, using the Java linker. You may see an unresolved external warning or two, but these are always treated as warnings, as they are easily worked around. The linker will resolve linkages for you automatically. To run the linker, type from the c:\prompt, the following:
c:\>link Caller.java Callee.java
IMPORTANT: Be sure to press the ENTER button after typing that line (the line just above this one, that you just typed). Be sure not to type "c:\>" though. Don't worry about the quotation marks I just typed here (they look like this: "). You don't want to type them. And don't be concerned about the colon in the previous sentence either, it isn't something you should type. It looks like this: :.
3) The linker will generate an executable program called binding.obj. You now need to run this executable program, so you can see the results. From the c:\> prompt, type the following:
c:\>binding Caller.java Callee.java
IMPORTANT: Be sure to press the ENTER button after typing that line (the line just above this one, that you just typed). Be sure not to type "c:\>" though. Don't worry about the quotation marks I just typed here (they look like this: "). You don't want to type them. And don't be concerned about the colon in the previous sentence either, it isn't something you should type. It looks like this: :.
4) The generated executable will execute, and the method in Caller.java will call the method in Callee.java (formerly Callee.cpp).

  • Please help with Sun Java System Communications Sync crashe with IEx 7.x

    Dear All!
    Recently i've upgrade my IExplorer to 7.x version. After that i began to have problems with Communications Sync (latest version). When i try to sync Outlook 2003 with the server (SSL connection/ self signed certificate) the Comm Sync asks if i want to allow to open connection with wrong certificate (happed only after installing IEx 7.x) and then when i press YES it crashes.
    Any help on how to fix this problem is appriciated.
    Konstantin
    P.S.: Adding a self signed certificate to IEx DB and adding the website to the trusted websites list did not help.

    Hi,
    Not sure how much we can help with this issue - especially if you are already running the latest version of the sync tool. About all I can offer is to uninstall your current sync software and reinstall the latest public version:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/private-cgi/getpatch.pl (search for patch #124734).
    If that doesn't help I suggest you log a sun support case for this (assuming you have a sun support contract that is).
    Regards,
    Shane.

  • Help with a java problem

    Hi
    i am a beginner programmer to java i am trying to solve a problem by writing a prohram but i am totally lost on what to do i was hoping that someone could at least give me a jump start on how top do this program
    basically i am writing a class here is what i need to do:
    i have three .HTML files from edgarscan and this is what i neet to do
    i need to write a class called EdgarWebReportAnalyzer. The
    class should have a single specific constructor that takes one String argument which is the name of a HTML file saved from EdgarScan. You may assume that the file is correctly
    formatted HTML code and arranged similar to the examples above. Then the class
    should have a method called getData(). getData() should take three arguments - an
    int for the year, and int for the quarter, and a String for the row label and should return
    a String. The return value will depend on whether or not there is data that matches the
    client code arguments.
    If the year and the quarter specified by the arguments is not a column in the file, then the
    return value of getData() should be no report for that year and quarter. For example, if
    intelReport is an EdgarWebReportAnalyzer for the intel.htm file above,
    intelReport.getData(2006, 2, Total Assets, $) should return no report for that year and
    quarter.
    If the row label does not match exactly any of the row labels in the file, then getData()
    should return that financial info is not reported. For example, if microsoftReport is an
    EdgarWebReportAnalyzer for the microsoft.htm file above, then microsoftReport.getData(2004, 4, Long Term Debt, $) should return that financial
    info is not reported.
    If the year and quarter match a column and the row label matches a row, then getData()
    should return a String representing that data, or the empty String if there is no data for
    that column and row
    Thanks a lot hopefully this is enough information i know i dont have any code to start with i am realy lost on what to do but a good jump start or anything that you guys can provide me with will help a lot

    Well, you could start by writing a little class called EdgarWebReortAnalyzer.
    Give it a static main method so you can create an instance and test it.
    Give it a constructor as you are asked to.
    Give it a getData as asked for.
    At the beginning, don't worry about the functionality of those methods; just get what you have there to compile.
    Now it's time to fill in the details.
    I suggest that you look into the various java libraries for XML - in particular for a DOM. This should give you the tools to call - in your constructor - to turn an edgar report file into a DOM. (Maybe not: will an XML parser cleanly parse HTML?)
    Next, when you have figured out how to get your constructor to create a DOM from and edgar file, implement code - in get data - that will walk the DOM for the required data, returning it if it is there.

  • Help with some java work ... :(

    Hi, I was wondering can anyone here give me some help or show me the way with this programming assignment. This is my first week of programming in Java and is really struggling ...
    I already have some very useful help from some people on here but still have no luck.
    Below is what my assignment is about and what I've done so far, sorry if it's very basic but I'm trying my hardest.
    You are required to write a program in Java that can store the details of three books. Their details are
    Author
    Shelf location
    Availability
    The program should give each book a unique shelf location starting from 0001. The details should be entered from the keyboard. The program should, on request, be able to print the details of each book to the screen. The program should terminate on request. The program should first ask for a preset password to be given before continuing executing any operation described above
    public class Library {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String[][] books =
         { "Shelf Location", "Author   ", "Book Name     ", "Availability" },
    { "0001          ", "A. Smith ", "Hello World   ", "1           " },
    { "0002          ", "C. Jones ", "Goodbye World ", "0           " },
    { "0003          ", "D. Wan   ", "Whatever      ", "5           " }
    for (int i = 0; i < books.length; i++) {
         System.out.print(books[0] + " ");
    for (int j = 1; j < books[i].length; j++) {
         System.out.print(books[i][j] + " ");
         System.out.println();
    import java.io.*;
    public class Login2
    private static BufferedReader in;
    private static BufferedReader keyboard;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException
    keyboard = new BufferedReader(
    new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    String input;
    boolean done = false;
    while (!done)
    System.out.print("Enter Password in UPPERCASE (QUIT to exit)");
    input = keyboard.readLine();
    if ((input.equals("LOGIN")) || (input.equalsIgnoreCase("QUIT")))
    done =
    true;
    return.Library();
    I was told to use cases, instances, etc ... nothing complicated is needed but it is still to much for me. I saw some examples of people's work and they only have approx 1.5 pages of code.
    Thanx very much for people who reads this thread and offers me help.

  • Help with static and non static references

    Hi all,
    I'm new to Java I'm having some difficulties with accessing non static methods.
    I'm working with Tree data structures and all the interfaces and methods are non-static.
    I have to write a tester main method to create and modify trees but how do I access the non static fields from main which is static?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks.

    Create an Instance for that particular class then call the method using that instance.

  • Can Someone Please Help With A Java App.

    A while back, I had a program that I was working on, while taking Java in a Web Design & Development course -- this was back in 1999 -- not having the mindset of a programmer I failed that part of the course misrably. I had to do the following program, but you can see why I failed, I only managed to write to lines of code. I am wondering if there is anyone who can write it to the following criteria, maybe even make it graphical...I am hoping to try and write an XML backend to it like I wanted to do in 1999; unfortunately I lost the code that someone was nice enought to supply after I failed that part of the 6 month course...so if anyone can help please let me know. I want to try learning Java again, but it would be cool to see the following in working order again. If you're wondering why I still have the following, I just found it again while going through my Experts Exchange postings.
    import java.awt.*;
    public class CourseMarks extends Applet {
    Of course I think this is wrong, but here is what I need done:
    Define a class (data structure) to represent the people taking a course. For each person, you should record their name, their mid-term mark, their final mark, and any other information you think is relevant (hint: how do you find all the people in the class?)
    A) The Applet/Program must be called CourseMarks
    B) Write the class in Java
    C) Create a variable called courseList to record students of a specific course, then write code to initialise it with information about three students.
    D) Letter grades are to be awarded to the people taking the course, and you have to write a method to translate the final mark to a letter grade for each person. Letter grades are awarded as follows: 0-49.99 = F, 50-59.99 = E, 60-69.99 = D, 70-79.99 = C, 80-89.99 = B, 90-94.99 = A, 95 and up = A+. Write a method in Java and show how you would invoke it on courseList
    E) Write a method to compute the class average for the mid-term mark (hint: follow your links), and show how you would invoke it on courseList.

  • Help with static method issue.

    Hi everyone,
    There's a recent thread on the forum along a similar vein as this one but I hope mine doesn't cause as much annoyance! My homework assignment involves implementing three interfaces provided by my professor in order to create weighted, undirected graphs. The classes I have to implement are Node, Edge and Graph. Here are the Edge and Node interfaces for reference; they weren't too hard to implement:
    public interface Edge {
         public Edge createEdge(String name, int ID, float weight);
         public Node getStartNode();
         public void setStartNode(Node n);
         public Node getEndNode();
         public void setEndNode(Node n);
         public String getName();
         public int getID();
         public float getWeight();
         public String toString();
    public interface Node {
         public Node createNode(String name, int ID, float weight);
         public Node[] getNeighbours();
         public Edge[] getEdges();
         public void addEdge(Edge e);
         public void removeEdge(Edge e);
         public String getName();
         public int getID();
         public float getWeight();
         public String toString();
    }Now, one of the graphs I should be aiming to create is this one ( [http://i35.tinypic.com/2iqn62d.gif|http://i35.tinypic.com/2iqn62d.gif] ) so I apologize for the code I'm about to show and its length. It's the Graph class:
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    public class Graph {
         public static void main(String [] args) {
              // Create all nodes
              int i = 1;

    I want to kick your professor right in the grapes for this bit of idiocy. It's at the source of your problems.
    This looks very fishy and very bad. I wouldn't expect an Edge to create another Edge. Likewise for Node and Graph. You might have static factory methods in these classes, but by defining it in the interfaces, these methods have to be non-static. This leads to such ridiculous code as you have like this:
    Edge uselessEdge = new Edge();
    Edge actualEdge = uselessEdge.createEdge("abc", 1, 2.34);It's not your fault that it's useless. That's the way you have to do it with that senseless requirement.
    The problem I have is that I don't know how to get around the fact that I'm making a static reference to the non-static method createGraph.
    Static reference in non-static context errors are always addressed the same way: Either make the member in question static (usually the wrong choice) or create an instance.
    In this case, you need to do like you did with Edge, and create a useless dummy Graph whose only purpose is to create other Graphs:
    Graph graph = uselessGraph();
    Graph actualGraph = uselessGraph.createGraph(...);Then, inside the createGraph method, you'll create a Graph with new and do thatGraph.name = name; and so on for each of the parameters/members.
    Really, though, this is just an awful, awful approach though. Are you sure your prof really requires Edge to have a non-static createEdge method, and so on?

  • Need help with basic Java programming

    I'm having a little bit of trouble with my code. For the sake of argument, I've removed the code I'm having trouble with, because I know it was inaccurate. I'm trying to create a loop so that this program will keep going through and through until the user enters an invalid variable. I thought the default after the case statements was supposed to make the system exit and output my message. Those two problems, the loop and the default, are what I'm really having problems with. My code is posted below.
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
    import java.util.Locale;
    import java.text.NumberFormat;
    public class Retail
    public static void main(String args[])
    String firstNum;
    String secondNum;
    String result;
    int prodNum;      //first number to input
    double quantity; //second number to input
    double total = 0.0;     //total of Prod * Quantity Sold for all items
    // To use American Dollar
    NumberFormat moneyFormat = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance( Locale.US );
    // first number entered as string
    firstNum = JOptionPane.showInputDialog( "Enter product number 1-5" );
    // second number entered as string
    secondNum = JOptionPane.showInputDialog( " Enter quantity of items sold" );
    // convert values to type double or int from type string
    prodNum = Integer.parseInt( firstNum );
    quantity = Double.parseDouble( secondNum);
    result="";
    if ( prodNum >=1 && prodNum <=5 ) {
    switch (prodNum)
    case 1: // 1st product
    total = 2.98 * quantity;
    break;
    case 2: // 2nd product
    total = 4.50 * quantity;
    break;
    case 3: // 3rd product
    total = 9.98 * quantity;
    break;
    case 4: //4th product
    total = 4.49 * quantity;
    break;
    case 5:
    total = 6.87 * quantity;
    break;
    default: JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, "Wrong product number entered" );
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, moneyFormat.format(total), "Total Price of Items Purchased", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    System.exit(0);
    ***I know I need to put something in the user input message to state that any value other than 1-5 entered will cause the program to skip to the output, I'll put that in later.***

    When you post code, please use [code] and [/code] tags as described in Formatting Help on the message entry page. It makes it much easier to read and prevents accidental markup from array indices like [i].

  • Help with first java app!

    Hello all. I'm very new to java, and I'm trying to create my first GUI app. The idea behind this app is for the user to enter number of hours worked and the rate of pay, and then it will mutliply them together and give you the result.
    I have my main class which sets up the frame then calls my panel class
    Inside my panel class I have two panels, one for the twi input textfields (hours and rate of pay) and one panel for the button and the result text field.
    I cannot figure out how to do get the value of both text fields and mutliply them together when the botton is clicked. Here's my code:
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class FirstProject
         public static void main (String[] args)
              //Sets up the frame
              JFrame frame = new JFrame ("My first Java app");
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              frame.setSize(300, 200); frame.setVisible(true);
              //Foreground panel class
              foreground fg = new foreground();
              //Add stuff
              frame.getContentPane().add(fg);
              frame.setVisible(true);
              frame.pack();
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.xml.bind.Marshaller.Listener;
    public class foreground extends JPanel implements ActionListener
         public foreground()
              //Setup the layout
              setLayout (new BoxLayout (this, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              //Setup input panel
              JPanel input = new JPanel();
              input.setBackground(Color.white);
              input.setBorder(BorderFactory.createLineBorder(Color.black, 1));
              //Setup output panel
              JPanel output = new JPanel();
              output.setBackground(Color.white);
              output.setBorder(BorderFactory.createLineBorder(Color.black, 1));
              //Add main media
              add(input);
              add(output);
              //--**INPUT BOX**--\\
              //Setup the hours label
              JLabel hour = new JLabel("Number of hours worked: ");
              //Setup the rate of pay label
              JLabel pay = new JLabel("Enter your rate of pay: ");
              //Setup the rate of pay text field
              TextField paytext = new TextField("20", 3);
              //Setup the hour text field
              TextField hrtext = new TextField("40", 0);
              //Add objects for input
              input.add(hour);
              input.add(hrtext);
              input.add(pay);
              input.add(paytext);
              //--**OUTPUT BOX**--\\
              //Set up objects in output panel
              JButton calculate = new JButton("Calculate!");
              calculate.addActionListener(this);
              calculate.setActionCommand("Calculate");
              //Add calculate text field
              TextField calculatetext = new TextField(2);
              //Add objects for output
              output.add(calculate);
              output.add(calculatetext);
    }Thanks in advance!!
    P.S. I'm using eclispe btw.

    Your problem is related to your ActionListener.
    public class foreground extends JPanel implements ActionListener
    calculate.addActionListener(this);You have it set up so the Foreground panel is listening to the calculate button's clicks, but it's not doing anything with the clicks.
    I would strongly suggest dropping the "implements ActionListener" bit and implementing a separate ActionListener, like so:
      JButton calculate = new JButton("Calculate!");
      ActionListener buttonListener = new ActionListener() {
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
          // do whatever you want with the
          // paytext.getText ...
          // hrtext.getText ...
      calculate.addActionListener(buttonListener);
      // and you don't need this:  calculate.setActionCommand("Calculate");rh

  • Coldfusion 11 java/jre ssl mutual auth api calls.  Help with coldfusion/java logs.

    Hello,
    I am here because I have exhausted my Coldfusion/Java ssl keystore certs trouble shooting abilities.  Here is the issue. I am developing a Coldfusion 11 application that must make api calls to Chase payconnexion SOAP services. I am using the coldfusion cfhttp tags to do this, which is using the java jre 1.7.x to accomplish this. The problem, I am getting generic 500 internal server errors from Chase.   They claim that I am not sending a cert during the ssl exchange.    What I have done is:
    - put our wildcard cert/key pair in the coldfusion keystore
    - put our root and chain in the keystore
    - put the chase server cert in the keystore
    - converted the key/crt files to .pfx and make the calls
      to chase with those, something like:
      <cfset objSecurity = createObject("java", "java.security.Security") />
      <cfset storeProvider = objSecurity.getProvider("JsafeJCE")/>
      <cfset Application.sslfix = true />
      <cfhttp url="#chase_api_server#/"
              result="http_response"
            method="post"
            port="1401" charset="utf-8"
            clientCert = "#cert_path#/#cert_file1#"
            clientCertPassword = "#cert_password#">
            <cfhttpparam type="header" name="SOAPAction" value="updateUserProfileRequest"/>
        <cfhttpparam type="header" name="Host" value="ws.payconnexion.com" />
        <cfhttpparam type="xml" value="#trim(my_xml)#"/>
        </cfhttp>
    Here is what I see in the Cf logs, can anyone help me interpret what
    is happening ??
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Ok, apparently Chase person who said we were not sending the certs and achieving mutual auth
    was incorrect.   The https calls were connecting, and mutual auth was taking place.   The 500
    error was about a soap envelope being delivered, and NOT SSL as I directed to.   Everything
    is working fine now.
    Thanks,
    Bob
