Help with windows 8.1 and java

I have windows 8.1 installed on my laptop and i have been trying to print coupons for a website and its not working. says i need java i installed java but that isnt working either. what should i do now?

Firstly, please use the command java -version in CMD to check your current system java version and if it is configured correctly.
Secondly, is this problem only occures when using Chrome Desktop? If that it is, it would be better to contact Chrome support for further assistance.

It crashed 3 seconds after it is running. Should be reading some jar file.
Could be a something corrupted a zip file or something. Can you still do a java -version? You may want to try reinstalling 1.4.2_07

If anyone can help or advise me on this matter, it would be incredibly fantastic! I've tried asking the people who have provided me with the program but they dont seem to have anything useful that i can do to fix the error. I was told by my server admin that it was in the coding, but they claim that it has nothing to do with the coding.

I haven't worked with this vendor product, but here are some ideas you might find useful:
It appears is a configuration problem when using the vendor software (but they already told you that, didn't they!!!).
I say the above because these lines in your printout are from vendor supplied objects (that you didn't create):

I suggest creating a brand new project with the simplist use of the above vendor project and get it to work.
You can use the vendor's (on line) documentation to do this. Deploy it in production to ensure there are no deployment issues. Work closely with one of
your fellow employees (more than one pair of eyes can pick up stuff that you miss). Next, look at what features of the vendor software the originial project uses and what features the sample project uses. Try to implement a subset of functionality of the orginial project into the sample project and get that to work. Implement the next feature, test, etc. Do small experiments at a time so you can easily isolate what doesnt work.
If none of the above works for you, try contacting the manufacturer or thier support web site. If none of the above works, look into using a compeditors product.

Help with opening Adobe Reader and downloading updates

I can not open Adobe .pdf files any longer (this started yesterday, prior to that I could open adobe files).
When I double click a .pdf file I get this notice on my screen: Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access file.
So I went to the Adobe download site to download a new copy of Adobe. When I start the download I get this on the screen: The instruction at "0x0e3a0068" referenced memory at "0x0e3a0068." The memory could not be written. Then two options are listed: click OK to terminate or cancel to debug. So I click on cancel and I get this on my screen: Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer. A malfunctioning or malicious addon has caused I.E. to close this webpage.
I don't have AVG running, I do have avast but I've disabled it. I ran Registry Mechanic and an I.E. erasure program but nothing helps.
I have gone into I.E. and reduced the security level to its lowest state but no joy.
So, any ideas or suggestions on what's the problem and how to overcome it would be appreciated. Thanks, in advance, for your reply. Jim R.

Hi Mike..tried that as well but no joy. A friend of mine was looking at it all and noticed that it was an I.E. thing as far as not letting me redownload the reader so I went to Mozilla Firefox and I could download a new version but....whenever I attempt to open a .pdf file I get that message, "Windows can not open the specified device, path or file. You man not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Damn...this is irritating as I need to get to some of thos files as I need them for a Journal I'm working on as editor-in-chief.
It all worked just fine last Saturday but starting Monday when I was on my flight out to D.C. no joy.

Error -54 with windows 8.1 and iOS 7.1.2

I tried adding two albums to my iTouch 5 with windows 8.1 and recently updated my iTouch's OS to version 7.1.2. I keep getting the error -54, saying it couldn't be synced but it still keeps sycing and comes up a lot. I tried restoring my iTouch and restarting my laptop, can anyone help?

That's weird. Here it is in full.
It may be too late for you to try what I did, but by the looks of it, it will be viewed many times going forward.
I noticed I was having the problem with songs that had been in WMA format but converted by iTunes. From what I read, this error is actually about permission issues for the files. I tried changing the permissions on the directory and cascade them to each file, but that didn't work. Reading more, one user got around the problem by zipping the problem files and use the files from the zip to sync. That worked for them. I tried that and it didn't work. Then I just figured there is some residual setting either on the iPad or in iTunes that was still hosing me.
I'd gotten pretty annoyed by this time so I figured I have to start with a clean slate. I reset the iPad to factory condition. I then went to windows restore and selected the restore point prior to installing iTunes. I then went thru the painful process of setting everything up again. Once I was installed and let the music be added to iTunes, I went thru and "unchecked" everything I didn't care if it went to the iPad. That was frustrating since I didn't actually have any check boxes showing. Since I was going to exclude whole albums, I did a right click on one in iTunes and there was an option in the context menu to uncheck the box. I did this for all the unwanted albums At this point, I connected the iPad and it was recognized. I went to the page to set up the syncing options. I tried to do it manually, but that was going to be a huge pain so I did the automatic sync and check the box to NOT sync unchecked items.
Finally, it started to work. I still got about 15 of the error -54 messages. I just clicked it away and the syncing continued.Since I had nearly 2000 songs transfer, I don't know which caused the error but I now have music on my iPad.
It's a lot of work, but I finally got the results I wanted. Hope this helps.

Lync Server 2010 conference not working with Windows 8.1 and IE 10

The problem is that whenever a Windows 8.1 user tries to join a Lync server 2010 conference using Internet Explorer 10 (or 11, tried that too) the user can't join the conference. If the conference is created by a Lync server 2013 user joining works fine.
When using Lync 2010 client we get the following error in the client: "error id 87 source id 7".
When using Lync 2013 client we end up with a blank conversation window.
There are no traces in server log, client log or event log.
Below is a set of use cases that may help you to understand what is the problem scenario. Each of these works or does not work with both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 client.
- Lync server 2010 conference, windows 7, Chrome, Firefox, IE 10 or 11 --> Works.
- Lync server 2010 conference, windows 8.1, IE 10 or 11 --> Does not work.
- Lync server 2010 conference, windows 8.1, Chrome or Firefox --> Works.
- Lync server 2013 conference, windows 8.1, Chrome, Firefox, IE 10 or 11 --> Works.
It does not help to add the meet address to IE compatibility list (Compatibility View Settings).
If i press F12 in IE and change the document mode of the meet page to IE 9 version then i can join meetings with Windows 8.1 and IE 10. Unfortunately i cannot make that as a default setting for the meet website.
Any ideas on how to get Lync server 2010 meetings working with Windows 8.1 and IE 10 or 11?
IE is the company default browser. Windows 8.1 is not a default operating system but we have increasing number of Windows 8.1 computers in our environment (mainly directors).

According to your description, it is hard to tell whether the issue is related with IE or Lync Server 2010 or both.
Compare the log when Lync client on Window 8.1 with IE 10 or IE 11 join Lync server 2010 conferencing and Lync Server 2013 conferencing.

Thanks but I already did read all of the help notes, which aren't very helpful for this. I did find out the problem- Apple.....they evidently changed one of the major upsides to their old software- being able to back up your entire library onto dvd's- so you can longer do that or restore from the dvds created from older versions of itunes. I suspect greed is at play in that Apple now wants you to pay $24.95 per year to use a "cloud" service where they back it up for you. I can buy a lifetime supply of back up dvds for one year's worth of cloud. So I am now looking into other music software as I am Appled-out. There is no reason for them to take away the back up portion of the software other than to sell you thrir cloud service. As we have already given them a ton of money for 5 Ipods and a bunch of music, I think we have contributed enough. Time to look to solutions outside of the Apple money tree. Today, I went to my iPhone iTunes store inside of iCloud to redownload my puchased. But those song won't able to sync back to my iTunes library on my Mac. Can anyone help me with that ??....

Seeking help with PS Elements 11 which does not work with Epson r2000 printer. Epson tech support could not fix, said it is PS e11 problem. Receive prompt on PS e11 screen when I try to print stating "not compatible or settings are not correct. Have set PS to manage color and printer manages color to off. Sincerely appreciate your help. Running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS420. System has been very stable for years. Before purchasing the Epson r2000, I owned an r1800 which was an excellent printer but after seven years started to exhibit paper feed problems. The r1800 worked with all applications and I was well satisfied with the saturation, contrast, etc. printing mostly 8x10 and 11x17 prints.
Thank you for the information about the # of installs for PS E11, will try uninstall/reinstall this morning.

Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

After new Itunes update ... it keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn. Frustrated!!! I have unninstalled it .. installed it, but nothing happens. I even loaded an earlier itunes version, it worked without crashing, but it still did not recognize iphone or ipad.

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)
