Newer G5 PowerMacs don't require the external t-shaped aerial, earlier models do and that is probably the cause of the problem.

Hi All, My MacBook will not connect to the internet at my apartment. I live with 5 other people and it works for all of them. It worked for me until about 3 weeks ago. Some routers (such as my Netgear) seem to work better if you input your device's MAC address manually while on their online site. That site address should be in the manual and usually starts with something like 192.168.x.x Once on that site, input your Mac's address - a series of numbers and letters i.e. 2f.3c.45.2a.xx.xx (go to Network Preference Pane, select Airport, click on Options: at the bottom it shows "airport ID". I have all my devices listed; with that you can create a special IP address i.e.192.168.1.1, .2, .3, and so on. I've never lost connection using that method.

Are you talking about apps that you've downloaded? if so just sync them back to your phone using iTunes. -
My macbook will not stay on without being plugged in. I had my macbook for about 3 years and the battery had less than 200 cycles on it and the computer suddenly would not stay on unless plugged in (went from holding about 1.5 hr charge to not holding charge at all). I purchased a new battery and this battery has 118 cycles on it. It is doing the same thing. When I unplug it the computer shuts off immediately. It will not stay in sleep mode either. What should I do? I assumed that it was because I tend to leave the computer plugged in so that the cycles stay low, but after only 118 cycles? (and the new battery is less than 8 months old). Could my computer be failing to register the battery? Please help me - I don't want to have to spend another $80 on a battery. (Just so you know, I have removed the battery and made sure the connection is good but this did not help.)
If your problems with the new battery are the same as the old battery, it would seem your Mac isn't charging the battery properly.
Perhaps it's a Magsafe/charger issue.
Read through the power section of this User tip here, try everyting, including the SMU Reset and see if that makes any difference.

My MacBook will not connect to the Internet, but all of my other devices connect perfectly.
I have a MacBook and it will not connect to the Internet. It connects to wifi, but then when I open Safari, the page does not load. I have tried forgetting the wifi network, deleting keychain passwords, and restarting the computer, but nothing has worked. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I just updated my iPad to the new ios and now it won't let me use iCloud. I have been in my settings and it says I need to agree to the new t&c's but when I click to do it my device freezes. Any Idea what I can do as I can't download new app either
Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.

Yes, well I ignoratly created a second Apple ID when first setting up my MacBook, and when I go to the "My Purchases" in my Mac App Store, and it shows the apps I've uninstalled, and the apps that are available to update. When I tap on the update icon/text I get a drop down notice, telling me that I have other apps that can be updated using the Apple ID I used to purchase the *apps* in Mac App Store. As far as I am aware I have only used ONE Apple ID to purchase Mac Apps, iPhone Apps, and iTunes. I have tried MANY, MANY times to find my second Apple ID. I've gone through and used every email address I making sure non of them were my second Apple Id's . SO is there anyway that I can update my apps using my main apple ID?

Styling Rules, can anyone explain to me why this will not work?
I am creating a Custom Theme, for some reason Mapviewer generates the first two rules of this and then ignore the last two rules. It does not matter if the 2nd rules is any of the last 3, it will generate the markers associates with the query, but after it does that it ignore the last two styles. In the code below, the state labels all work fine. M.Green is displayed but not M.Amber or M.Red, if I was to put M.Red or M.Amber in the place of M.Green it will only display that style. So I know the queries are correct. I their some sort of limit on the amount of Rules I can have? In the MapDef tool it all looks correct but I can't edit the queries as I reach the character limit of the tool so I have to do this in SQL.

I should have all this figured out. I have created my advanced theme, and it seems to be working fine. The problem I am running into is when I try and get the data for my mouseover infotip window the Mapviewer is failing saying that the decription string I am trying to display in my infotip window is failing whenever it is trying to display any text string:

I don't know why but my computer will not turn on! Less than 6 months old!
If you have access to an Apple Store or other authorized Apple specialist with service department, you could take the computer in for diagnosis and repair under the AppleCare plan. Or the complementary coverage that comes with the computer if you did not buy the extended plan to add a few more years on the basic one. With the basic plan, you have 90-days support; if you bought the AppleCare extended plan, you have a total of three years support and service. Within the first year (from day of original purchase) you can buy the extended plan. Without it, a fee may be charged to test the computer. Or if there is an Apple Store with Genius bar, you could arrange to get an appointment there, and there should be no charge (in USA) to diagnose the problem.

Not sure what is wrong with the computer, but an expert could tell.
Also if you have an Apple Store nearby (or within reasonable distance) you could call ahead to set an appointment to talk to a Genius, and have them look into the issue(s) the computer may have. One determined to need repair under AppleCare can be handed off, there.
Did you have a backup method in place to save your work off the computer, such as TimeMachine and external hard drive? I mention this because a computer going into the shop for possible repair may lose its content, and the hard drive or other parts may have failed, so your saved stuff in there could be lost.
Hopefully they can get the problem solved.

Macbook will not automaicaly connect to wireless on restart
Whenever i restart my computer, or turn it off/on it will not automatically reconnect to my wireless internet connection. I end up having to click on the airport icon in the menu bar, manualy select the wireless network, and then re enter the password EVERY time i start the computer. This is such an annoying problem. I have done the following so far to try and fix the issue.......
1. Made sure that when i enter the password the "store password in keychain" option is selected.
2. Changed the default wareless network to the prefered networks setting with my connection at the top of the list.
3. Deleted my network from the networks list, deleted kechain entry for network and then re entered all information.
4. Various other combinations of the above 3.
This is a really annoying problem. It all works fine on my brother machine!! Please help me before my 10 hour old macbook is sent sailing out of my bedroom window to join the pc it replaced. :P
Thanks guys!I had tried that earlier and it didnt work for me, or atleast i think i did exactally what your post said. Thing is before i read your post i had already taken the plunge and re installed osx lol. That means there is a possibility that when i did what i thought was the same process as you describe (before i reinstalled os x) i may have missed out one of the check boxes etc. Reinstalling os x worked for me, but to anyone else reading it, try the above instructions first! Sounds alot easire than a full reinstall!

MacBook will not connect to the internet via ethernet cable anymore.
My MacBook apparently decided the other day that it no longer desired to connect to the internet through an ethernet connection; it still works perfectly through a wireless network. I am a university student and so there is wireless almost everywhere so it's not so bad, but I cannot connect in my dorm and it's becoming a bit of a pain. I have tried to connect through several known working ethernet ports and no matter what my computer thinks it's not even plugged in. It's even more strange because I just woke up one morning and it was no longer working. Everything else it totally normal, save this one little inconvenience. Any ideas?

I am unable to send emails on my imac and macbook. They go straight to my outbox. The connection doctor comes up with green lights. Any ideas? Hopeing someone out there can help me - thank you.
EA68, who is your broadband provider, if it is Sky then they have recently merged with Yahoo, and there have been similar problems with people who use Mail to access their emails.
If this is the case you will need to remove your SKY account from Mail and then set it up again.
Make sure you clear your inbox, and back up any important emails you have.
IN MAIL go to prefrences and accounts. Highlight SKY account and select the MINUS or delete sign.
Now select the PLUS or add button and type in your sky email address, and then your sky password. Follow on screen instructions, and your emails should then work.

So I just recieved a used macbook from ebay today. I was so excited because everything was working perfectly - internet and all!! Then, after about 20 mins of being on the internet, the connection was lost. Now everytime I try to connect it says "Connection Timeout". All other devices still work perfectly on the same wifi. I have researched this all day and tried everything.. Nothing works. Someone please HELP!!!!!!
