Hide a column in hierarchial alv

hi,
how can we hide a column in hirarchical alv, where factory table is used.
i'm using cl_salv_hierarchical_alv.
here how can we hide a column.

Hi Srikanth,
Can you paste the Function Module that you are using ...?
Are using this function module REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY?
Genrally, we use No_output....
If we make it as X then it will not display that field.
Y_WA_FCAT-COL_POS = 8. "+ DG1K902190
  Y_WA_FCAT-TABNAME = 'T_FINAL'.
  Y_WA_FCAT-FIELDNAME = 'CRTSP'.
  Y_WA_FCAT-NO_OUT = 'X'.
  Y_WA_FCAT-SCRTEXT_L = 'PROD CREATED ON'.
  Y_WA_FCAT-INTLEN = 20.
  APPEND Y_WA_FCAT TO Y_I_FCAT.
  CLEAR Y_WA_FCAT.
This will not display the field CRTSP.
Hope tihs will fix your isue.

Kittu

    data : gw_fieldcat type lvc_s_fcat,
              gt_fieldcat type lvc_t_fcat.
    perform build_grid1 changing gt_fieldcat.
    form build_grid1 changing p_gt_ss.
    gw_fieldcat-fieldname   = 'UKURS'.
    gw_fieldcat-scrtext_m   = 'Exchange rate'.
    gw_fieldcat-no_out      = 'X'.
    gw_fieldcat-col_pos     = 9.
    APPEND gw_fieldcat TO gt_fieldcat.

    Kindly suggest.

    Hi,
    As per code it looks good..check in the debugging corresponding to the field 'UKURS is no_out has value X in the fieldcatalog.

  • Hide some columns in alv if no values are present for that columns ..

    Hi all,
    This looks like a wierd requirement ..In my ALV report, i am displaying around 30 fields. Among those , based on the input ,data will not be there for some  of the columns .. In the output we want to hide those columns
    eg:
    Matnr     Descr    Column3  Column4
    Mat1      Des1     (No data)  sfsfs
    Mat2      Des2     (No data)  (No data)
    The required output is :
    Matnr     Descr    Column4
    Mat1      Des1     sfsfs
    Mat2      Des2     (No data)
    How to do this in the most simplest / right way?
    Hope my question is clear .
    Thanking you in advance,
    Shankar

    Hi shankara,
    1. In the output we want to hide those columns
    For this,
      a) first we have to know/detect  by looping the table/logic
         that which fields contain no data / are to be hidden
       b) after that we have to use the field catalogue properties.
        c) We have to loop at the fieldcatalogue,
            and set the value fieldcat-NO_OUT = 'X'.
           for those fields.
        (In this manner, those fields/columns won't be shown)
    regards,
    amit m.

  • How to hide selection column from alv grid

    hi
    i want to hide selection columns form alv grid.. how can i do it.. Is there any fm for that?
    regards
    palak

    Hi,
    the ALV Grid Control allows you to directly hide key columns with NO_OUT (field KEY_SEL is not used).
    Field name:NO_OUT
    Comp. type:LVC_NOOUT
    Dtype(length):Char(1)
    SPACE, 'X'
    If you set this field, you hide the relevant column in the list. Nevertheless, the column is available in the field selection and can be interactively selected by the user as a display field. The ALV displays the contents of hidden fields on the detail screen for a row in the grid control.

  • Hide a column in Abap List

    Hi,
    I build a query in sq01.
    This is a statistic report, with an integer field named "AGE" which I marked to show the average too.
    I want to show the output in ABAP List (not ALV).
    The problem is that I want to show ONLY the average column (of the AGE), WITHOUT the AGE column.
    Can I hide this column in ABAP List?
    Thanks
    Itzhak.

    Hi Itzhak,
    well I don't know what you mean by hiding. Once you created a output list just with ABAP write command, there is no way to 'hide' a column. But you can add a parameter or any other criteria to the program and do the write statement for that field depending on this criteria.
    Hope this helps
    regards
    Siggi

    hi
    good
    i tried your ALV report but it is giving some error due to some ztable you have used in your progam,
    you can go to se38 and give there BCALV* and press f4, you ll find lots of ALV example related to OOP concept, you can test them and use them as per your requirement.

  • Hierarchy ALV and LinkToURL and row colors

    Hi!
    I've to implement a hierarchy ALV with two hierarchy columns, which should appear as LinktoURL (different URLs).
    The Hierarchy-header-line should be displayed in an other color then the other rows.
    Popins are not supported by ALV? This could help, but the displayed table must be printable (PDF), that's why I'm focused to ALV!
    Is this possible? If yes, please give me hints you to implement these functionality!
    Kind regards and thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    to use Cancel button in dialog based on class cl_salv_table, define your own gui-status or use an existing from standard program, for example gui-status ST850 from program SAPLKKB.
    Look here for the complete example:

  • Hierarchial ALV using OOP

    Hi Friends,
    I have created a Hierarchial ALV report using OOP concept (Class Builder). The output is OK but it is displaying the unwanted columns in the header part.
    The code written is as follows.
    =====================================================
    data: gt_zsd_abcd      type zsd_abcd  occurs 0,      "Output-Table
    data l_hierarchy_header type treev_hhdr.
      perform build_hierarchy_header changing l_hierarchy_header.
      call method g_alv_tree->set_table_for_first_display
        exporting
          i_structure_name    = 'zsd_abcd'
          is_hierarchy_header = l_hierarchy_header
        changing
          it_outtab           = gt_zsd_abcd. "table must be empty !
      perform create_hierarchy.
      call method g_alv_tree->frontend_update.
    =====================================================
    I would like know as to how to display only the required columns in the header part.
    Pls guide me.
    TIA.
    Regards,
    Mark K

    Hi Mark,
    i got it, in your case you will get all the fields present in the structure you mentioned in the method.
    so if you want only Purchase Order then you need to Build the fieldcat only for that field and then pass that fieldcat to the method. and don't pass the structure in this case.
      call method alv_tree_control->set_table_for_first_display
       exporting
                 is_variant           = l_variant
                 i_save               = 'A'
                 i_default            = 'X'
                 is_hierarchy_header  = l_hierarchy_header
                 it_special_groups    = l_special_groups
                 it_toolbar_excluding = l_toolbar_excluding
       changing
              <b>it_fieldcatalog      = l_field_catalog</b>
                 it_outtab            = l_output_tbl.

  • Hiding few columns before displaying alv grid output

    Hi All,
    I struck up at hiding few columns before displaying alv output. I have used used FM: REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. By using this i am displaying 29 fields to the output. But before displaying the output i want to hide few columns among them, and also those fields have to be avialable for further selection by the user by using layout.
    Kindly help me in this,
    Regards
    Srinivas K

    Hi,
    In field catalog set NO_OUT='X' for all the columns you want to hide. They will be available when changing layout for ALV, so you can show them at any time.

    Marcin

  • Hide a column conditionally to parameter value

    Hi experts,
    I'm new to Discoverer and I'm working with Disco 10.1.2.3.
    I need to hide a column conditionally to a parameter value, and I'm turning around for time.
    I can't find how to do this.
    I have tried few things with Conditional Formatting but unsuccessfully.
    If someone could give me a clue....
    Thanks in advance
    Brice

    Thanks Rod for your answer.
    I'm really sad to know that we can't hide a column in Discoverer, which for me seems to be a basic thing for such a tool.
    A Decode could be a good idea but the fields I would like to show/hide are part of hierarchies,
    and after few try I have seen that if I applied function on a field which is part of a hierarchy,
    Disco doesn't show it as a Hierarchy (I cannot Drill).
    That's why I was searching to put my 3 hierarchies fields and then hide 2 of them conditionally to a parameter value.
    If someone have an idea ...
    Thanks again Rod,
    Brice
