Hide Nested columns header

I've a nested column, i.e. one column has 2 columns in it. How to disable only the header of the sub column and not the main column's header.
Example:
TableColumn main = new TableColumn("");
TableColumn lastName = new TableColumn("Last Name");
TableColumn firstName = new TableColumn("First Name");
main.getColumns().addAll(lastName , firstName );
When this is rendered, it displays 1 main header and 2 sub header Last Name and First Name. Now how to only hide showing of First and Last Name column's header.
Is it possible?
I checked the other posts in the forum like this in the below link, but i want to hide the nested columns header.
https://forums.oracle.com/message/10028003#10028003
Thanks.

I did the below code to hide the columns, but it hides all the columns. Is there a way to hide only the nested column only and not main header column which has both these columns.
Pane header = (Pane) table.lookup("TableHeaderRow");
header.setVisible(false);
table.setLayoutY(-header.getHeight());
table.autosize();
What if there are 2 tableview's and you want only ont tableview's header be made invisible.? How to do it?
Thanks.

  • Is there any way to hide the column header in BW workbook?

    I have inserted a query into a workbook. But I don't want the column header to be shown. Is there any way to hide the column header? Thanks.

    Hi,
    If you want to do any custom formatting to the workbook and you do not want it to reset when you refresh the workbook,
    You will have to You can deactivate the function for adjusting the formatting (Adjust Formatting after Refreshing) in the Display Options of the Query Properties.
    When you do this, you can have your own formatting for the workbook and it will not be affected when you refresh the workbook.

  • Hide the columns header

    Hi all, i just want to hide the the row that is a columns header, that is just above the numbers in the result area. The point is it's autoformated, it's just a normal row and that's all, but i need to make like twice bigger and of other color.
    How could i do it.
    Cost center  I Plant I Quantity I Price I Total I
    AMAR        I AMA I  34         I 45     I   78   I
    DART         I MAR I  76         I 23     I   97   I
    So, basically i just need to hide or eliminate the first row with: Cost center, plant etc and make it myself. The problem is that with every refresh, all the formating i've done is gone.:(
    Any ideas?

    You can always use Excel functionality to hide the column headers, and insert your own rows above with the headers, formatted just as you require.
    HOWEVER, that wont work if you then apply extra drill-downs (or remove them).
    As an alternative, don't forget that you can switch off 'Adjust format after data refresh' via Properties. This enables you to apply whatever formatting you wish. But again, watch out for what happens when you drill down, it may come up with some suprises! Oh, and when you make any changes to the query you have to re-embed it, which refreshes the original formatting (so you have to re-apply your own formatting), so I tend to end up creating a macro to automate this.
    That help? Enough for points? lol

    We do not have any direct setting in BEx to do it. You can write a VB macro code in BEx to achieve this.

  • How to I hide column heading completely ?

    There is a similar post on 10g - How to I hide column heading completely ?
    The solution is - To achieve this, go to Edit Table View, open Table View Properties. Here you should see an option called 'Display table and column Headings'. Here set its value to 'No column or table headings'.
    I'm on 11.1.1.5 and when I go to Edit Table view -> Table View properties -> Display Folder & Column Headings , I see four values as below but there is no value 'No column or table headings'. The values are -
    -Only column headings
    -As separate rows
    -As Folder.column
    -As Folder.column (where needed)
    Is this 'No column or table headings' value no more available in 11.1.1.5 ? Is there any alternative method to achieve this?
    I'm able to hide the column header using various ways e.g. setting Display Heading option, but when I download the results it has either the header present or an empty row. In 10g the option 'No column or table headings' removed the header completely from the download file.
    Any suggestions please?

    Anybody has any thoughts on why 'No column or table headings' option is removed from 11g or is it just 11.1.1.5?
    Is this a bug or any other feature has been provided to achieve the same?

    If you hide the header, then the space it occupies will still
    be there, so
    the rows will line up. Try using a headerRenderer wit one
    state that shows
    the header text and one state that shows nothing.

    You can add the following to an .xsl file and link to it in the "Miscellaneous" options when you edit the web part. By doing it this way, you can reuse the same style sheet over and over.
    This xsl basically overrides a couple of templates located in the "vwstyles.xsl" file, and removes the lines that add the header.
    (This code works in production, but I may not have replicated it properly in this forum, so please test first.)

  • How to show or Hide Generic Column in a regular report

    Hi All,
    I have created report based on "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). It returns columns based on some conditions. I have total 60 generic columns like (COL1,COL2....COL60) but it returns 18 or 20 columns based on my conditions, how can I hide the columns that I don't needed. My column heading is based on function return by ':' separated. My function returns number of columns also. Is there any we I can show only those columns which contains data. My report is exactly similar to the default "SQL query (pl/sql function body returning sql query). I didn't find any logic how they are doing this show and hide. I appreciate any ones help.
    Thanks,

    Hi there,
    Somehow you need to find out how many columns your dynamic select will return (by what you said it seems that your procedure returns this information). Then store that number in a hidden page item, say Pnn_COUNT.
    Then, for the 19th and 20th columns in the report add these conditions:
    Column 19: :Pnn_COUNT >= 19
    Column 20: :Pnn_COUNT >= 20
    I hope this helps.

  • Interactive Report (IR) column heading: filtered items number & flashlight

    Hello everyone
    several hours of searching through the forum did not provide me with leads or answers to 2 questions. Both are related to the IR column heading menu and options. Let's start with a copy of the relevant portion of the interactive report help screen:
    Column Heading Menu
    Clicking on any column heading exposes a column heading menu.
    [snip]
    Text Area is used to enter case insensitive search criteria (no need for wild cards). Entering a value will reduce the list of values at the bottom of the menu. You can then select a value from the bottom and the selected value will be created as a filter using '=' (e.g. column = 'ABC'). Alternatively, you can click the flashlight icon and the entered value will be created as a filter with the 'LIKE' modifier (e.g. column LIKE '%ABC%').
    List of Unique Values contains the first 500 unique values that meet your filters. If the column is a date, a list of date ranges is displayed instead. If you select a value, a filter will be created using '=' (e.g. column = 'ABC').
    Q1: Why do I not see a flashlight icon? I looked everywhere in the report definition to "enable" it, to no avail.
    Q2: Although we've found IRs to be incredibly useful and embraced by end users, we are having issues when dealing with large datasets. Let's look at searching for people's first/last name in our CONTACTS table. The table is ~28,000 names long. If one attempts to use Column Heading menu to "filter" for any name outside the first 500 unique values, the search does not work. Yes, I know that a workaround is to use Actions Menu icon filter... but, it sure is misleading to have a search which does not go beyond letter B in the list of last names. Furthermore, I do not see a way to DISABLE Column Heading Text Area, and avoid user confusion.
    I suspect that "List of Unique Values contains the first 500 unique values" was set for the performance purposes. Is there a way to set that number anywhere? Have it customized for each column? (columns county and state could be <100, for example)
    Thanks an advance to any advice.
    Vojin

    @Prabodh: what you say is only changing the default image for the column selector at the search bar level. What i think is being looked for is an icon on the popup when a column header is clicked in an IR. Don't bother: there is none.
    @Vojin, Tonibony:
    I also ran into this problem with IRs and the useless column header box. If you want to hide the unique values list, it is a bother. First of all, you can't disable the finding of values, this is embedded in the widget ajax code. Then if you want to just hide the list, there is no real event you can hook up to. The poping up of the box is an ajax callback, and is part of the IR javascript, but this callback does not trigger any event (no apexafterrefresh for example, which is understandable). I've worked around this by overriding/extending the method which is called when ajax is done loading within the IR code. Here is a piece of code which does this (call it on page load):
       // _Finished_Loading is called when the IR is done with a GET action
       // because the posts are synchronous in this report, and no events
       // or hooks are available, the best way to preserve functionality
       // yet extending it is to override the original function, yet
       // keep the base code
       // apexafterrefresh cant be used since it is not triggered after
       // the widget ajax
       var or_Finished_Loading = gReport._Finished_Loading;
       gReport._Finished_Loading = function(){
           //overriden, but still have to call orinigal!
          or_Finished_Loading();
          //SORT_WIDGET is the widget containing all the header elements
          if(gReport.current_control=='SORT_WIDGET'){
             // hide the original dropdown box
             $("#apexir_rollover_content").hide();
       };If you're interested, i've recently developed a plugin for use in my interactive reports which works around some of these limitations. For me, the headers are much more userfriendly than the actions > filter menu. So what i've done is: hide the orignal dropdown, and turn the searchfield into an autocompletion field, which will progressively search through the distinct column values in the IR with ajax. I've even made an option to have the searching behave like a "contains" or a "like". I'm working on a post about it, with background, documentation and source code. I'll add a post here when i finish it up, you can see if that helps you.
    I also would like to add a button later on which will simply add the entered value as a "like %value%" filter. I know how to do this and what to do, i'm just a bit short on time at the moment. I actually think that adding the button in the layout may be the hardest part... :')

  • How to sort data in descending order when user clicks on the column heading

    Hi
    I have a report called "Top customers", which shows the top customers for a specific product line. It displays the customer name and one column with the total amount spent in the period for each product line. By default, the leftmost product line is sorted in descending order.
    If the user wants to know who are the top customers for another product line, they simply click on the column heading to sort the list by that column.
    The problem is that when you click for the first time on a sortable column heading, Apex sorts it in ascending order; you need to click on the same column heading again to sort in descending order.
    Is it possible to change this behaviour and sort the data in descending order in the first click? So the users don't have to click twice...
    Thanks
    Luis
    PS: Apex 3 running on Oracle 10.2.0

    Luis,
    See: Can I "catch" a click on a sortable column header of a report?
    Take a look at Anton Nielsen's answer with regards to hiding a column and displaying its value instead of the sortable column.
    Asumming the following simple report query:
    select product,sales
    from <table>
    Change that into:
    select product
    ,sales*-1 as reverse_sales -- Select this one as an extra column
    ,sales -- Hide this column
    from <table>
    In your report column attributes (of column reverse_sales), html-expression, type #sales#. It then displays the normal sales. However apex will generate a 'order by 2 asc' for the first time. The '2' will refer to the sales*-1 value: sorting it asc, is the same as sorting sales descending...

  • How to set title/text for ALV table column header in WD ABAP

    Hello,
    I am working in WDA using SALV_WD_Table to display data in table. I need to change the column header text, the obvious way is to get the column header and call the method SET_TEXT to set new text / title. However, this method does NOT work, it does not change the column header text. I also tried the SET_TOOLTIP, this one works, but SET_TEXT does not work. Anyone has idea why this not working and do you find any go-around solution?

    Hi jason ,
    For setting Heder text for your ALV table
    ip_confing type ref to CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE.
    "set alv table header
      ip_config->if_salv_wd_table_settings~r_header->set_text( 'Test ALV Header functionality' ).
    first you have to hide the DDIC text and then try to set your own text .
    "modify columns

        lr_column = ls_column-r_column.
        CASE ls_column-id.
          WHEN 'MANDT'.
            "hide this field
            lr_column->set_visible( cl_wd_abstr_table_column=>e_visible-none ).

  • Changing the Column Header and Hiding the Column dynamically???

    Hi friends..
    I'm new to OBIEE field. I'm working in a OBIEE project that requires to dynamically change the column header, and dynamically hide the column depending on the prompt value.
    I know we can dynamically change the table header using the presentation variable but I couldn't do that same thing with column header.
    I searched some forums that suggest to use java script for this purpose but I'm not able to do the same also. If anyone had same issue before please help.

    toony, I'm not sure it's possible to do all that you want exactly the way you want, but here are some ideas you can pursue.
    To dynamically change column headers without javascript, check this blog out...
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/oracle-bi-ee-101332-dynamic-column-headers-using-presentation-variables-sets-and-conditional-formatting/
    As far as dynamically hiding a column, I don't think you can do this, but since you don't provide any details on how the PV is supposed to hide a column based on the value, are you talking about hiding a column for one PV value and another (different) column for a different PV value? Or are you talking about hiding one column when a PV has certain values and displaying it when the PV has a different set of values?
    I have managed to create both scenarios via a work-around, but the procedures require some writing so I don't want to put both. Please detail how you want your PV to "hide" a column or columns.
    P.S. I don't think column selectors will do the trick for you. Basically column selectors work like this: Say you have a report using Sales Region ID, Region Name, and Sales. Now let's say you want the user to choose if he/she wants to see annual sales, or quarter sales or weekly sales, etc. The column selector view would allow you to put the various columns (Year Sales, Quarter Sales, Weekly Sales) as an option the user can select. Once selected, the sales figure will change for the time period selected. For an example of how this is done, check out the section in this "Oracle by Example" link.
    Waited too long to publish this... Madan beat me to it, so there is some overlap here...
