Hide the focus indicator?

Is there any way I can hide the focus indicator for
everything in my document?
Thank you for your help,
Shane

A focused TextField’s css is defined in caspian.css as follows:
       .text-field:focused {
    -fx-background-color: -fx-focus-color, -fx-text-box-border, -
     fx-control-inner-background;
    -fx-background-insets: -0.4, 1, 2;
    -fx-background-radius: 3.4, 2, 2;
}Create your own custom css and define TextField’s css as follows:
          .text-field  {
    -fx-background-color: -fx-focus-color, -fx-text-box-border, -
     fx-control-inner-background;
    -fx-background-insets: -0.4, 1, 2;
    -fx-background-radius: 3.4, 2, 2;
}In this case, focused and unfocused fields will be identical.
You can also remove TextField’s border in your css file.
        .text-field {
    -fx-background-color: silver;
    -fx-background-insets: -0.4, 1, 2;
    -fx-background-radius: 3.4, 2, 2;
}

  • Recording voice-over:  Can I move or hide the recording indicator?

    I'm making podcasts of presentations I use when teaching my biochemistry course.  It seems to work well, but unfortunatley I cannot figure out how to get rid of the recording indicator in the top left of the projected image.  It sits on top of my slide content, and sometimes obscures it from the audience.  At the very least, it is a distraction, and once the level for recording is set, I don't need it for anything.
    How can I get rid of it?

    Yes, I've proven it is a bug with external sound cards/mixers. I switched to the internal audio on my MacBook Pro and the meter worked fine. I did report it, but who knows if or when it'll be corrected. Perhaps they have an issue with external devices that self-regulate the audio levels?

  • Missing focus indicator for selectOneRadio

    Hello,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0.
    I am working on a project that is required to meet accessibility standards and have run across an issue with the selectOneRadio. When there is no selection made in the radio (either by default or manual selection) and I tab to the radio button(s), there is no focused indicator (i.e. the dotted outline that tells users that the element is in focus).
    The strange thing is that when one of the radio buttons are selected, tabbing over it DOES show the focused indicator.
    I do not see any CSS that is disabling the outline when the radio button is focused.
    I have tried adding some skinning selectors (see below) to no avail.
    I use this page for reference when skinning ADF: Oracle ADF Faces - Selectors for Skinning ADF Faces Components
    Things I have tried:
    af|selectOneRadio::native-input:focus { // This one seemed the most obvious to me, but it does not have any effect.
        border: 1px dashed #000000;
    // This one was in desperation. Doesn't work either.
    af|selectOneRadio:focus,
    af|selectOneRadio::content:focus,
    af|selectOneRadio::content-input:focus {
        border: 1px dashed #000000;
    Any ideas what would be causing this or how I could get it working?

    Not really sure what happened, after about 45 minutes the app indicator appeared. I can't recall any actions during that time period that would cause it to be fixed.

  • Focus indicator not showing after keyboard interaction

    I have a legacy Win32 application written in C, which is giving me trouble with regard to the keyboard focus indicator. This behavior is not seen with a small MFC application. In particular, the keyboard focus is not shown for controls. This is most obvious
    with a combo box with the droplist style, but is true of all controls.
    I use the ComCtrl32v6 manifest to use modern controls.
    I know about the Control Panel setting which turns on accelerator key and keyboard focus once the user interacts with the application in a particular way. With that setting Off, my understanding is that keyboard focus indicators are not shown until the user
    tabs between controls. And in fact, that is what I see with a small MFC application. But with my full legacy application, even tabbing between controls does not cause the focus indicator to appear.
    I suspect there is some interaction with the message loop I am using (though I am essentially doing GetMessage()/TranslateMessage()/DispatchMessage()). I say this because of some of the other questions I have read on this forum having to do with focus indicators
    and TAB key. Though I am not mixing COM or .NET with my C application.
    Is there some Win32 function I can call that tells Windows, "This application is being controlled by the keyboard, please show the various visual indicators"? Or some message I can respond to? Or anything?
    Now for the really strange bit. This behavior depends on how I start the application! If I start the application with a mouse click (either double-clicking a desktop shortcut, or clicking the Go icon in Visual Studio, or clicking the OK button on the Start->Run
    dialog), then I don't get focus indicators. But if I start the application with keystrokes (typing into a command prompt, pressing F5 within Visual Studio, pressing Return from the Start->Run dialog), then the focus indicators show up just fine.
    Thoughts? Help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Second monitor "hide" the programs behind the screen background.

    Hi!
    Updated my system a couple of days ago. When I rebooted, my second screen comes up as normal, except I can't get anything to show on that screen.
    The primary screen works as normal. The second screen shows the background and conky, but when I try to open anything on the screen, it opens, kind of behind the background. I can use the program, and drag it to the first screen. Then I see it. It's almost like the screen background covers it.
    Have a nvidia GPU and using Awesome as VM.
    Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

  • How do I fix my mac so that the window I am looking at has the focus?

    I am a new mac user and at present beyond comprehension of how people cope with mac if they are not primarily mouse oriented.
    Current problem.
    I close an app using apple key W
    It closes
    I am looking at a window of another app. I want to close that too. Apple key W. Nothing. This window does not have the focus. No keyboard actions will make it do anything. And the bar at the top of the screen is still the bar for the app I have just closed, but that does not respond to the keyboard either. At this point, no keyboard action will affect either app.
    As a one time developer I have to say that in any context I am familiar with this would be considered a major show stopping bug, and the programmer would get into a lot of trouble if the software went out in this condition.
    Certainly, for a user who lives by the keyboard coming from linux / windows, both of which do what I consider sane and sensible things in all places and at all times, this is a major *** situation!
    Please can someone tell me how to get my mac to behave more 'sensibly'.
    I want the window I am looking at, the only window visible on the screen, to have the focus. Always. No matter what! Which I think is entirely reasonable.

    Thank you for all your points.
    It can't automatically be the one you want without some instruction from you - the cmputer is not a mind reader, can not seenwhat holds your attention.
    Darn!
    In Windows and Linux it is automatically the last one in use before you closed the window(s) that have been closed. This is the window naturally lying topmost in the stack of windows on the screen. It is this window which is exposed in the circumstance I am describing. And it is this window which I expect to have the focus in this circumstance.
    More to the point, and has been mentioned several times - unlike Windows, when you close the last window of a Mac app, the program is not quit (usually - there are exceptions). The program is still running, as is indicated by the 'running light' on the Dock (the small bluish oval underneath the app's icon in the Dock), even though it has no windows open.
    It is not running with an invisible window being the focus - it has no windows at this point, not even an invisible one.
    Yes, understood - naturally enough after a few hours exposure to the mac interface. And I would assume that none of the quitted windows in that app will have the focus, which would be nonsensical.
    The overall 'focus' is still on that program, because it is still running (you closed its windows, but did not quit the program) and will remain so until you instruct the Mac to switch to a different program in the stack (or queue, or rotation, however you choose to consider it).
    Yes. WHY?
    Whether program closes when you close the last window is an interesting point. Mac do it different to the others. OK. But this program should not have the focus, unless there is something useful you can do with it. I would have thought obviously.
    Why have a program quit when you close its last window? Doesn't make sense to me - can't tell you how many times that behavior with a PC has irked me. Consider this scenario - you're writing a memo to someone in TextEdit. You print the memo off. You're done with that doc, but then want to write a letter to someone. So you close the window for that file, which happens to be the last window open for TextEdit. If TextEdit should quit at that point, you'd need to restart it again before you can write the letter. But - it doesn't quit; it's still running. So instead of restarting it, all you need do after closing the memo's window is press Command-N for a new, blank doc in which you can write the letter.
    I agree. This is very useful - once you are used to it. Certainly, this is an excellent option, though it seems crazy that it is not a readily settable option. Equally though, if I was going from mac to windows or linux, I would be totally peeved if this behaviour was not a settable option.
    Regardless, this is the way it is in the Mac world, and has always been as far back as I can remember it (and I go back to OS 1 on a MacPlus). As far as 'industry standards' go, there are many who feel that Macs set the GUI standards a long time ago, and that those wo have imitated it have not done a good job of their implementations.
    I totally take your point. And I am ready and willing to learn a new interface, naturally, though I had no idea the journey would be so extensive. [] "More ruddy stairs" says the elderly ghost of the recently deceased David Emery grumpy old git character, who hobbles along with a cane, confronted with a loooong flight of stairs up to heaven []
    - elsewise I'm going to cause myself an inordinate amount of frustration when my impossible-to-meet expectations aren't met.
    Of course I have impossible-to-meet expectations, I got a mac, the doyen of computers. I thought a faint mysterious hint of a sound might be present in the faint whirr of the fans at start up, like far off angelic choirs, and that everything would be easy and wonderful, as well as beautifully easy on the eye.
    But I still think that the focus shoud go somewhere useful. And if it stays with the app running with no windows, then at the very least it should be one keyboard shortcut to open a window for that app, or reopen the last window of that app. Or, gasp, it should go to the last window in use before the windows of the app that just got closed, the one on top of the stack, the one straight in front of you, currently impervious to any and all keyboard strokes. And, given the price and sophisication of macs, and the significant gap between the GUI standards of the major players, however long they have respectively been in business, I think it is the kind of thing which should be settable. Indeed, confident that this was settable or 'fixable', I embarked on this thread in the first place.

  • How do I hide the address bar when fullscreening "popup" windows?

    Sky TV's video player has a bad fullscreen implementation - you can make the player go true fullscreen but it reverts when it loses focus, so I can't multitask on my two monitors.
    The best workaround I've found is to use their "pop-out" player, which opens a new "popup"-style window (locked address bar, no search bar etc.) and I can then fullscreen the window itself (rather than the player). This allows me to hide
    - the window outline
    - the window title bar
    - the Windows start menu
    and it stays fullscreened when it loses focus.
    However, this does not hide the window address bar. On a normal Firefox fullscreened window this slides out of view after a short time; on the locked "popup" style window it does not.
    On the offchance that treating "popup" windows differently is a deliberate Firefox security policy... can I disable it?

    You only need to select the pop-up window after having opened the Browser Console or open the console before opening the pop-up to make that window the MostRecentWindow.

  • Help! How to hide the keyboard in app...

    I was bidding on an item in the free ebay App (provided by Ebay v 1.6.1 and the keyboard would not hide and I could not place a second bid. I had made one successful bid and then on a second bid (about 2 minutes later) the keyboard would not go away and I could not submit the bid - only enter a dollar value. It was beyond frustrating watching the time tick down and not being able to place a bid.
    Please someone tell me how to hide the keyboard. I tried everything I knew how - tapping the screen, shaking the iphone, exiting out and coming back in and refreshing the app. Nothing would get the keyboard to go away and allow me to touch the submit bid button.
    Thanks in advance and SORRY in advance if this is in the wrong forum!

    Well the ability of how the keyboard shows and hides is a function of what the developer of the app made. Sounds like a bug in their program or just bad usability.
    This is a topic to discuss with eBay as they developed the app. Their code has to control how things happen. Normally leaving a field to type in will make it go away, but if they didn't provide a way to leave focus, then that is a usability issue on their part.

  • How to hide the duration on the Aggregator TOC?

    I used the Aggregator to link multiple projects together as once course. I know that you can use a widget to hide the duration if you are using the Captivate TOC. I want to know if there is a way to hide the duration shown on the TOC created by the Aggregator.
    Thanks.

  • Hide the parameter in the adress bar

    HI all i am using oracle reports 10G....

    If you use IE then you have to add the following code in HTMLbeforeform script.
    <script>var windowHandle;function openWindowURL(URLString){windowHandle = window.open(URLString,"Forms","location=false,toolbar=false,resizable,scrollbars");windowHandle.focus();}function closeWindow(){if (windowHandle && !windowHandle.closed){windowHandle.close();}else{ }}</script>
    If you other browser then
         WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('javascript:window.open("TARGET=_blank>'||your_URLl||'","","fullscreen=no,title= "daybreak reports",titlebar=no,location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,status=no,resizable=yes");self.close()','_blank');
    Hope this will help you to resovle the issue.

  • Change the focus between two windows

    I have a program that uses a console window, and an appletviewer window. I want to know the code required to change the focus between each of the windows. By focus I mean which window is on top of the screen.

    These are java.awt.Frame or javax.swing.JFrame objects, right? Use their show() method. Some OS's may not allow you to steal focus. You could try:
    frame1.hide();
    frame2.hide();
    if(wantframe1ontop)
    frame2.show();
    frame1.show();
    else
    frame1.show();
    frame2.show();
    }

  • Hide the Selection-Screen fields

    Hello, how can i hide a Logic Database's Selection-Screen?

    In the event AT SELECTION SCREEN OUTPUT you can do a LOOP AT SCREEN and turn off the ACTIVE indicator.  Use the debugger to determine what the name of the field is that you want to hide.
    So something like
    LOOP AT SCREEN.
      IF SCREEN-FIELDNAME = 'the name'.
        SCREEN-ACTIVE = '0'.
        MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Is there any way to hide the menu bar?

    I've been trying to find out if there's a way to hide the menu bar unless the mouse pointer is pushed up to the upper edge of the screen, I know there are third-party applications that let you do this (Menufela which uses Application Enhancer that I prefer to avoid as it is causes more problems than it solves as far as I'm concerned), I also know that it's possible to write applications that cause the menu bar to exhibit this behaviour while they're focused.
    But what I'm looking for is a way to make it behave this way all the time without installing Application Enhancer and having to deal with all the headaches that come with it.

    It does seem odd that you can't get the menu bar to hide itself though, I seem to recall something about editing certain files in .app directories to make it hide itself on an app-by-app basis.
    To hide the menu bar for a single application, you need to modify the Info.plist, as described -> here <-.
    This will work on nearly every application. Only on a very few applications it will cause incorrect behaviour, mainly Finder.app.
    So a simple way to realise your wishes, is to create an Applescript, that will "hide and unhide" the menubar for a couple of apps at one time.
    Here a demonstration example: Choose one or more apps. Menu bar will be hidden/unhidden:
    <pre style="
    font-family: 'Courier New', Courier;
    font-size: 12px;
    line-height: 1;
    border: 2px solid #1E90FF;
    width: 700px; height: 200px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #F5FFFA;
    overflow: auto;">
    on run
    set xyz to choose file default location (path to "apps" as alias) with multiple selections allowed without invisibles
    repeat with i in xyz
    set appName to name of (get info for i)
    if appName ends with ".app" then set proName to text 1 thru -5 of appName
    tell application "Finder"
    try
    if exists (process proName) then
    set x to display dialog "Is " & "\"" & proName & "\"" & " still running? If so, please quit it now!" buttons {"Cancel", "Quit it!", "No! Not running!"} default button 2 with icon 0
    end if
    end try
    end tell
    try
    if button returned of x is "Quit it!" then
    tell application appName
    quit
    end tell
    end if
    end try
    try
    ((i as Unicode text) & "Contents:Info.plist") as alias
    set infoPlist to quoted form of POSIX path of ((i as Unicode text) & "Contents:Info")
    try
    do shell script "defaults read " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode"
    do shell script "defaults delete " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode"
    on error
    do shell script "defaults write " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode -int 4"
    end try
    end try
    end repeat
    end run
    </pre>

    In Forms 6i i use the next command:
