Hide Window Title.

Hi all,
Can we hide the Window title bar of a form? I am using Forms 6i.
Thanks & Regards,
Manu.

Hey you guys! It IS possible. All the forms I work on do that.
Manu, why do you give credit to the ones who tell you something cannot be done? :_|
-> i want to hide the forms window's( Only 1 window in the form) title bar.
-> I want to hide the blue colored ( default windows theme) in which the minimize, maximize and close buttons resides.
You have options, which I pointed out above. Since you are asking about Forms 6i, I'll address those.
You always have the title bar of the Forms_MDI_Window. That contains the standard Windows icon on the left end, and the standard symbol/icons for Minimize, Maximize(or Restore), and Exit on the left.
When you start your form, you will also have the standard Forms menu bar, (Action Edit Query...Window Help).
And a third menu bar, the Window0: On the left, the standard Windows icon, then the Window0 title, and on the right, the standard icons for Minimize, Maximize and Exit.
To get rid of that third Window0 title bar, in your Pre-Form trigger (or a standard PLL procedure ), do this:
<font color=blue>  Set_Window_Property('WINDOW0',Window_State,Maximize);</font><br>
That is what ALL of our forms here do.
And to prevent the user from re-displaying that Window0 title bar, create a When-Window-Resized trigger like I posted above.
We also set the Window0 properties, Close Allowed, Move Allowed, Resize Allowed, and Minimize Allowed to No. Only Maximize Allowed is set to Yes (so the above Set_window_property above can work).
But you can also manage the Window0 Y position. Set it to -20, and the title bar slides up and out of sight. We don't use this option, though, since resizing the MDI window leaves the width and height fixed. Maximizing Window0 is much easier.

  • Hide the title bar of a movie window like QuickTime X

    Love the feature of QuickTime X of not showing the title bar/the control bar of a movie window (still waiting for Pro version, though. Is it coming out at all?)
    I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way/tweak to hide the title bar of a iTunes movie window like QuickTime X.
    Thanks.

    What child window are you referring to? Do you mean a browser window opened with web.show_document?
    If so, you can use javascript to hide browser toolbars and so on. Search the forum for some javascript examples where windows are opened with toolbar=no.

  • Hide/Replace Windows Title in 11gr2.

    Hi All!
    I m using Forms 11gr2, and want to show title of Company Name on the top of the Main Window, i.e. above my menu bar.
    Previously I was using following built-in in Forms 6i successfully;
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,TITLE,'Company Name'),
    but now, it instead show two titles
    -- Address bar of form (above my menu bar).
    --Oracle Fusion Middleware title (above address bar of form) at the top.
    which ultimately decreases my main windows size.
    So, sir Please guide me how to disable these two Windows Titles and replace these with my Title as Company Name , above My Menu Bar Window.
    Thanks & Regards.

    Thanks & Regards.In version 11, the easiest way will probably be to use java script. For example:
    Declare
         rtn     varchar2(255);
    Begin
         -- rtn will return the value passed in
         rtn := WEB.JAVASCRIPT_EVAL_FUNCTION ('document.title = "This is my title."');
         message('The title has been set to '|| rtn);

  • Window title bar?

    Hi all,
    Does anybody know how to set the window title bar like the one
    used by window.MessageDialog e.g. without the small icon image at the

    smaller (???).
    I'm using Forte 3.0.G.2 on NT4.0.

  • How to hide forms title

    Hi,
    I want to hide the title of the form. We are really tight in our form and we don't need this title. I tried this but without success...
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('CG$WINDOWS_1', TITLE,'');
    the only way I manage to "hide" the title is by moving the window. But when I do this, there is a vertical scrollbar even if I specify "Show Vertical Scroll Bar" to NO
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('CG$WINDOW_1',POSITION,0,-20);
    Thanks a lot!!!

    Luis Cabral : your syntax was good :)
    But it's seem that they have their own title bar. I know that this solution would work if we where in VB. In VB a MDI child, when maximized, share it's title bar with the application title bar!
    Inolau: Thanks for the link...
    previously the first command line was to maximize the forms_mid_window
    then I maximize the main window after I was moving the window. This solution gave me a scroll bar...
    ummm if I use in order (as told in the link)
    set_window_property('window1',position,0,-18);
    set_window_property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,window_state,maximize);
    set_window_property('window1',window_state,maximize);
    when I use this, the forms_mid_window is not maximized. And when I maximized it perfect!!!!
    I change the order to
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('CG$WINDOW_1',WINDOW_STATE,MAXIMIZE);
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('CG$WINDOW_1',POSITION,0,-18);
    set_window_property(forms_mdi_window,window_state,maximize);
    and.... WOOOOOOWWWW :) you guys ROCK!!!!

  • Change a browser window title

    How do I add/change a browser window page title using iWeb?

    iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
    If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer.
    If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox.
    If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar.
    To replace a missing textbox in the Header, choose another theme and then change it back to the original one.
    Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
    So use that textbox in the Header layer.
    Type your text.
    Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller (Or do Command--(minus)).
    Then select the textbox.
    In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
    Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
    Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
    Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
    If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
    Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging  the mouse over these objects.
    Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.
    And here's a movie that show how to partially hide the title :

    _NET_WM_ICON_NAME(UTF8_STRING) = "firefox"

    There's no title in that output, even though I saw it by clicking - How come? And how do I grab the correct window title from a window id?

    man xprop wrote:If the desired window is not the root window, it may be selected in two ways on the command line, either by id  number such as might be obtained from xwininfo, or by name if the window possesses a name.
    The id you obtained from xprop is the WM_CLIENT_LEADER, also listed in the WM_HINTS as the group leader. So that appears to be something like a root window for Firefox, not necessarily the one you see (with the title you want).

  • How to set the WebDynpro application title (IE windows title)?

    Hello all,
    I would like to set the WebDynpro application title according to the current transaction ID. This title is the IE windows title that is shown on the upper left-corner of the IE browser.
    Rule: [Object Instance Information] u2013 [Application Title] u2013 [Browser Title]
    For example: Trans. <No.> - <My App> - Windows Internet Explorer
    I would like to set <No.> dynamically on run-time according to my current transaction number.
    I have this piece of code that gets a reference to the application info:
    data: lr_app_info TYPE REF TO if_wdr_rr_application.
    lr_app_info ?= wdr_task=>application->application_info.
    And there is lr_app_info->get_description() method to have the description of the application, but there is no set method.
    The application description can be hardcoded in:
    tx. SE80, opening the WebDynpro component, then accessing its WebDynpro application. In the properties tab, there is a description field. I need to append transaction ID to it.
    Do you know any way to implement this? This issue is for WebDynpro ABAP.
    Best regards and thanks in advance,
    Fouad.

    Hello Satra,
    Thanks for your reply. I already had a look into that thread, but my question is not related to the windows title of the WebDynpro  component.
    My question is related to the title of the Internet Explorer that we all see on the top left-corner. For WebDynpro , this is the WebDynpro  application title. How can we change it?
    I hope my question is clear now, and I wish someone can help me soon.
    With kind regards,
    Fouad.

  • How to hide the title of a region or a region without a title?

    Hi All,
    I am desperate to align 4 regions on a report page in my Apex app. I need 4 empty HTML regions, I am creating a table (please refer to this tutorial http://www.apex-blog.com/oracle-apex/how-to-align-regions-on-a-page-10.html). I don't know how to hide the title of these empty regions. As I place a report in each of these regions, I do not want their (empty regions') titles to be displayed? I have searched everywhere on the forum, even sent an email to this tutor, but so far no reply.
    Thank you all, as ever!
    Naushad.

    Hello Naushad,
    I am also looking for something to align my regions. I followed the steps mentioned in the link you provided, but somehow my empty cell space is coming after the second region for example in link example after "copy to" instead of between "Copy From" and "Copy to". Which template did you use for the html region "Copy From" and "Copy to" for???
    Will appreciate if can provide any help. It's very urgent.
    Thanks,
    Suman

  • Garbage Characters in CDE Window Title Bar

    I recently patched our Solaris 8 Sun workstations (a mixture of Blade 150, Ultra10, Blade 1500, and Blade 2000) with the recommended patch cluster from December 19th, 2005. At the same time, I updated the systems' Java to 1.4.2_10, and installed Update 5 to StarOffice7, which is still on the systems along with the newer StarOffice8.
    When initially installed before these recent patches, StarOffice8 behaved correctly. After updating the systems, when I open StarOffice8 in a CDE session, I get garbage characters in the title bar of the window. The letters and fonts in the application menus are normal. StarOffice8 windows under Gnome sessions are titled correctly.
    I've read some emails about issues with LC_CTYPE and setting it to en_US.ISO8859-15, using a wrapper script to start soffice. The current setting on my machines is en_US.ISO8859-1. That solution doesn't work consistently on different machines (or even on the same machine).
    In fact, even without attempting to solve the problem, there is inconsistent behavior. On one Ultra10 which I have as a testbed machine, StarOffice8 behaves correctly, whether I'm logged in as a normal user, or as root. On a Blade 1500, it behaves correctly when logged in as root, but not as a normal user. I've also patched StarOffice8 with Update1 which was released today, but it doesn't fix the problem.
    Anybody else having similar problems after recent patching? Or have any suggestions for a solution?
    Jeff Bailey

    More Info on Unsolved Problem:
    If I use Mozilla to open a document file, with soffice set as the helper application, the CDE window title displays properly. If I leave that instance of StarOffice open, and open new documents using the menus within StarOffice, subsequent CDE titles also display normally. Also with that original Mozilla-driven StarOffice application still open, if I use "soffice whatever.doc" on a command line, those CDE windows appear normal.
    Mozilla is set to use "en_US" as the language for webpages, with Western ISO-8859-1 as the default character coding. The Solaris 8 workstation's /etc/default/init file is configured as:
    TZ=US/Eastern
    CMASK=022
    LC_COLLATE=en_US.ISO8859-1
    LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO8859-1
    LC_MESSAGES=C
    LC_MONETARY=en_US.ISO8859-1
    LC_NUMERIC=en_US.ISO8859-1
    LC_TIME=en_US.ISO8859-1
    While the Mozilla "wrapper" is a workaround for now, I don't see it as a final solution.

  • [Flex 4.5.1] Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome, Firefox works fine

    Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome (latest version by the time of the writting) - very odd behavior, if the user clicks away from the flex app then the language bar reappears but even if you change the language if you focus back on the application the language is back to what it was the last time the application was focused, though you can't actually see this since the language bar is gone.
    This is kind of a serious bug since an avarage user probably would't be able to change the language with key combinations...
