HideShow  in table column in uix page

Hi EveryBody,
I am usin JDeveloper 9051+ adf+uix.
In that i'm trying to put a <hide show /> component in a column.
Hide and show is running but it does work for all the rows at a time since id of each <hideshow/> is same (i mean to say that all hideshows work at the same time) and i want it to work for the particular row in which the hide show is pressed.
This is my code snippet kindly help in this:
<hideShow id="hideshow1" disclosed="${'show'==uix.pageState.hideshow1}">
<contents>
<flowLayout>
<contents>
<labeledFieldLayout>
<contents>
<textInput model="${uix.current.Asset.KeyId}" columns="10" readOnly="true"/>
</contents>
</labeledFieldLayout>
<labeledFieldLayout>
<contents>
<textInput model="${uix.current.Asset.Description}" columns="10" readOnly="true"/>
</contents>
</labeledFieldLayout>
<labeledFieldLayout>
<contents>
<textInput model="${uix.current.Asset.Image}" columns="10" readOnly="true"/>
</contents>
</labeledFieldLayout>
<labeledFieldLayout>
<contents>
<textInput model="${uix.current.Asset.ShortDescription}" columns="10" readOnly="true"/>
</contents>
</labeledFieldLayout>
</contents>
</flowLayout>
</contents>
</hideShow>
<handlers>
<event name="hide show">
<set target="${uix.pageState}" property="${param.source}" value="${param.event}" />
</event>
</handlers>
Thanks in advance.

Use detailDisclosure. It handles (almost) everything for you.
The LinkageError is not caused by the detailDisclosure.
In your table:
                <table model="${bindings.AppointmentInformationView1}"
                       detailDisclosure="${uix.eventResult.detailData}"
                       alternateText="${uix.data.nlsMed.NoRecordsFound_LABEL}">
                  <contents>
                    <column>
                    </column>
                  </contents>
                  <detail>
                    <rowLayout width="100%" vAlign="top">
                      <contents>
                          PUT YOUR DETAIL COMPONENTS HERE!
                      </contents>
                    </rowLayout>
                  </detail>
                  <tableSelection>
                  </tableSelection>
                </table>You are telling the table that the information about which rows are to be expanded can be found in the event result in detailData.
Now you need an event handler in that page:
    <event name="show hide">
      <!-- show the table details -->
      <method class="foo.bar.UixHelper" method="doHideShowEvent"/>
    </event>The show/hide events will go to a class (that you will provide) and the static method doHideShowEvent() will be called. That method must return the EventResult containing detailData.
Simple so far: You tell the table that the hide/show information comes in the EventResult object. You route the show/hide events to your class so that you can create the detailData and the EventResult object.
The next step takes a bit of coding. In your doHideShowEvent() method you must create the detailData object and return it wrapped in an EventResult.
The code looks like this:
  public static EventResult doHideShowEvent( BajaContext context,
                                             Page page,
                                             PageEvent event ) {
    // "source" contains the id of the UIX table
    String dataSetName = event.getParameter( "source" );
    int tableLength = 0;
    boolean discloseAll = false;
    PageEventFlattenedDataSet tableRows = new PageEventFlattenedDataSet( event,
        dataSetName );
    tableLength = tableRows.getLength( );    // the number of displayed table rows per
                                             // page (not the complete number of rows)
    // Remember the selected row for single selection tables (-1 means no selection)
    // Number of row in displayed page (independent from range)
    int selectedRowIndexOld = SelectionUtils.getSelectedIndex( tableRows );
    int selectedRowIndexNew;
    // Check if special row or show all
    String value = event.getParameter( UIConstants.VALUE_PARAM );
    int disclosureRowIndex;
    if( value.equals( UIConstants.VALUE_SHOW_ALL ) ) {
      disclosureRowIndex = tableLength;
      discloseAll = true;
    } else {
      // this is the row that must be (un)disclosed:
      disclosureRowIndex = Integer.parseInt( value );
    // decide whether we want to disclose or undisclose depending on the name
    // of the event (hide or show)
    boolean disclose = UIConstants.SHOW_EVENT.equals( event.getName( ) );
    if( discloseAll ) {
      // if all rows shall be processed, keep previous selected
      selectedRowIndexNew = selectedRowIndexOld;
    } else {
      if( disclose ) {
        // set the selected row automatically on the row where show event was issued by
        // the user.
        selectedRowIndexNew = disclosureRowIndex;
      } else {
        // If the user pressed "hide" the selection is only changed if no row is selected
        // not changed
        selectedRowIndexNew = disclosureRowIndex;
    DataObjectList detailData = new TableDetailData( tableRows, disclosureRowIndex,
        disclose, discloseAll );
    EventResult result = new EventResult( page );
    result.setProperty( "detailData", detailData );
    result.setProperty( "selectedRowIndex", new Integer( selectedRowIndexNew ) );
    return result;
  }    // end method doHideShowEventSascha

  • Dynamic Table Columns in UIX

    I have searched for a bit in the forums and documentation for something like this, and have found nothing.
    I would like to be able to have Dynamic table columns, with dynamic content in the table.
    I would like the ability to add non-dynamic rows to the table, placed where I like them.
    Does anyone know how to do this?

    I am creating a report that counts a number of events per hour, each day.
    the layout will look like this:
    0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 total
    day1 3 3 4 5 4 3 2 3 230
    day2 4 3 2 3 4 2 3 4 235
    day3 3 2 2 2 2 3 2 1 310
    total 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 1393
    The user must be able to select the range of days they can see (might be a week, might be a month, might be a year).
    Also, the user can select the range of hours that they want visibile.
    becaus they can select the number of hours, I need to be able to dynamically create the columns to the table, according to the user's selection.
    The report is a very processor consuming report, as there are thousands of events per hour, so I want to trim the atcual data crunching to a minimum.
    can anyone help with dynamic tables?

  • Problem in Keeping one table columns in multiple pages and achive commit

    Hi,
    i'm using ADF BC+JSF. I have one table which holds 100 column, when i design the UI page, i'm using show one tab to show the fields and kept 50 columns in one tab another 50 columns in second tab. I filled the first tab 50 columns and i try to move to second tab then it showing error stating that you are filled the remaining columns which there in second tab.
    pls. help me to resolve.
    regards
    Bmgan

    Thanks Steve. Unfortunately we want to validate when users click on a button to fire the commit call. Since we do a lot of partial page rendering and sometimes we have to refresh the entire page (i.e. when coming back from pop-ups), this solution won’t work. Any ideas on how we can validate from the entity while at the same time showing the standard ADF error messages. We tried other approaches (like the ones from the below link) with no luck.

  • Two LOVs in same UIX page based on the same table

    Hi group,
    Recently I ran into a problem with a UIX page that has two LOVs based on the same database table. In Emp and Job terminology, here's what I tried to do.
    Suppose we have use the Employees and Jobs tables from the HR scheme with one small modification. Add a column called PREFERRED_JOB_ID of type VARCHAR2(10) which is exactly the same as JOB_ID. Hypothetically speaking, this column will be used to allow Employees to select their preferred job in case they want to change their jobs.
    Next, create business components in JDeveloper based on the Employees and Jobs table. In order to be able to generate the LOVs for Job and PreferredJob create two ViewObjects, one called JobsLookupView and one called PreferredJobsLookupView. These both need to be based upon the same Jobs EntityObject. Also include the Jobs EntityObject twice in the EmployeesView ViewObject and give one the alias PreferredJobs. Include the JobTitle attributes of Jobs and PreferredJobs in EmployeesView so they can contain the JobTitles selected in our future LOVs.
    Next create a ViewController project if it's not already there and enable JHeadstart on it. Create an Application Structure File and create the lookups for the two LOVs. When I run the application I see this happening:
    When I click the flashlight icon next to the PreferredJob LOV and select a job, the PreferredJob field is selected in the UIX page but no job title appears. When I next first select the Job LOV and select a new job and then select the PreferredJob LOV again and select a different job, the job that was selected in the Job LOV is now also entered in the PreferredJob field. When I make sure the PreferredJob field isn't required (remove the required="yes" property on the messageLovInput entry for PreferredJobTitle and remove the PreferredJobTitle field from the addRequiredRowItems list in the UIX page) I can save the changes I made in the Employees.uix page. The same JobId is stored in the database for Job and PreferredJob.
    This behaviour is probably due to cacheing issues because both LOVs and the EmployeesView ViewObject use one EntityObject for four values in three ViewObjects.
    So I then modified my model a bit. I created a new EntityObject called PreferredJobs based on the JOBS table. I modified the EmployeesView ViewObject to use this EntityObject for the PreferredJobTitle attribute and modified the PreferredJobsLookupView to use this EntityObject.
    I needed to modify a few things as well in the Application Structure File (which were prompts and whether or not the attribute should be visible in a table) and after regenerating I made sure the PreferredJob attribute isn't required in the UIX page. When I then run the application again, I never see the JobTitle I select in any LOV allthough the PreferredJob field is selected when I select a Job in the PreferredJob LOV. The correct JobId now is stored in the database though.
    Has anyone ever encoutered this behaviour? Would anyone know how to get two LOVs based on the same table in one UIX page?
    Thanks in advance,
    Wouter van Reeven

    OK I figured it out. When I added the second Lookup ViewObject (PreferredJobs) no additional Association was created. Therefore, ADF BC wasn't able to figure out which field to update. When I added the Association between the PreferredJobs Lookup ViewObject and the Employees ViewObject everything started working ok.
    I then recreated my inital situation: one EntityObject for Jobs and one for Employees, now with two Associations between them. After modifying the Employees ViewObject and making sure the Jobs EntityObject was referred twice and via the corresponding Association, everything started working ok.

  • UIX: How to add linked view table columns to the Read-only table

    Hi
    I have two tables
    T1: ID, STAFF_ID, NOTE
    T2: STAFF_ID, USERNAME
    I have created corresponding entity objects (E1, E2), views (V1, V2), association A(E1->E2 as *..1 using STAFF_ID) and viewlink VL(V1->V2 as *..1 using association A).
    My model in AppModule looks like
    V1
    ----V2 via VL
    Now I have single UIX page in which I drop V1 as Read-only table. The table displays columns correctly: ID, STAFF_ID, NOTE
    What I want is to add a column STAFF_ID from the V2 into this table. I have tried to drop it into the table but when the page is run it does not display anything in that column. It has to do something with binding.
    I have done similar test with dropping V1 as read-only FORM and then added STAFF_ID from V2 as messageTextInput and everything is rendered correctly.
    Anyone knows how to do the same thing but with table?

    Yes that is true but I would like to give another example where this may not apply.
    Say I have 3 tables
    CLIENT(INDIVIDUAL_ID,...)
    ADDRESS(ADDRESS_ID,...)
    ADDRESS_HISTORY(ADDRESS_ID, INDIVIDUAL_ID,BEST_ADDRESS)
    where ADDRESS_HISTORY is intersection table in CLIENT to ADDRESS many to many relationship.
    Suppose I have VO2 that consists of ADDRESS and ADDRESS_HISTORY entities (corresponding association exists) and user needs to add new address for the selected customer in VO1 (made from CLIENT entity). There are several issues here:
    1) An input form made out of VO2 must contain an entry for BEST_ADDRESS flag but since it will be read-only, seems that this approach may not work. However, I found a post re:Updating view objects with multiple entities that provides workaround this.
    2) In that case assume that I use DBSequence to automatically add ADDRESS_ID when user inputs new record in this input form. I am using DB Trigger on ADDRESS table and have selected ADDRESS_ID in ADDRESS entity as DBSequence. Now observe that VO2 would contain another ADDRESS_ID from ADDRESS_HISTORY entity which has to be automatically populated with the same value. How?
    In a nutshell my question relates to the problem how to automatically populate intersection table when new record is added to the detail. But the trick is that some attributes of the intersection table must be inserted by the user in the form..
    Please advise

  • Two tables in the same uix page

    Hi! I work with Jdeveloper and UIX with the framework Jheadstart. I need to save data of two tables at same time; i mean , two tables in the same page which save with the same submitbutton. i have made some tries editing the service file, some templates and of course the page, but sometimes it works and sometimes not, i dont know what's happening and i really need to resolve this problem urgently. i hope someone can help me and i'd thank you a lot.
    Thanks for your atention.

    I'm sorry, but I'm going to need more details before I can help. If you can provide stripped down versions of your UIX page and Java code, perhaps I can be of service. Also, I would like to know which JDeveloper and UIX versions you are using.

  • How to handle 2 database tables in a single UIX page?

    Hi all,
    I have to use data from two different tables in the database but using only one uix page.
    Is it possible? Can I use "uiXML Browse an Edit Form Wizard"?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ferrer

    Yes, it is possible.
    To save the time of creating the combined page manually, you can generate the individual pages, combine the registryDef, content and handlers sections to get your desired user interface.
    Kind Regards.

  • Design an uix page which is not related an database table

    Hi;
    I want to design a uix page, but this page elements is not related an database table, only pass through the parameter to run a report, how can i do this easly
    Thanks

    Such functionality is not generated/supported by JHeadstart. But you can build this page manually using JDeveloper. Please use the JDeveloper online help and/or the JDeveloper forum for help if you get stuck.
    In monitoring this forum we have to set priorities, and we simply lack the resources to help you with questions not related to JHeadstart. I hope you understand this.

  • Single row editing for multiple tables in a single page

    Hi!
    I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns. There is an ID column (sequence generated) that is Primary Key common for all tables. Obviously, the relationship between these tables is 1 to 1, so it’s not about having to build master-detail pages.
    What I need now is to edit all these tables in a single page: one single row from each table. The Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes used for the old table must be replaced by something else.
    Is there a way to use in a single page more pairs of such processes for more tables?
    I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
    Keep in mind that the page will have an ID item that can be used to identify unique rows in all my tables.
    Thanks,
    Sorin

    I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns
    IMHO that is a very bad idea. There is nothing wrong with having many columns in a table. If you would like to split them to better "categorize" them, just create views on the table and expose different subsets of the columns.
    I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
    That is unavoidable given how you have designed the underlying tables.
    You could try creating a view that joins all the tables by the PK and creating a form based on that view. Then write a INSTEAD OF trigger on the view that "doles out" the DML on the view to each of the underlying tables.

  • Move Table Column with AppleScript in Microsoft Word

    Microsoft Word has a flaw (in my opinion) with tables in that it aligns the left and right text with the margins rather than aligning the table columns with the margins. This results in sloppy tables, because the left and right borderlines lie outside the margins.
    I would like to fix the word tables by
    calculating the left cell padding and right cell padding in points and setting them to variables {left_pad,right_pad} respectively
    move left column by left_pad to the right
    move right column by right_pad to the left
    The script I was working on does not work, but I will post it to show my thought process as I hone in on my solution.
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
        --595 points is width of A4 paper
        -- Set page margin in points to variables
        set {l_margin, r_margin, t_margin, b_margin} to {(get left margin of page setup of active document), get (right margin of page setup of active document), get (top margin of page setup of active document), get (bottom margin of page setup of active document)}
        get {l_margin, r_margin, t_margin, b_margin}
        -- Set specific Paragraph margins
        -- NOTE: If you select a table thinking you wish to drag just the left margin to the right, or the right margin to the left, this code does not accomplish this because each cell has its own paragraph formatting. This code will set the margin for every single cell, because each cell has its own margins! (separate from padding).
        set para_sel to paragraph format of selection
        set paragraph format left indent of para_sel to (centimeters to points centimeters 0.5)
        -- Aligning left and right columns of table with the margins
        -- NOTE: There is a command to set left row indent, but not right row indent (very stupid of Microsoft)
    end tell

    I have worked up something that seems to work (although I cannot promise it is the best way). Hope it helps anyone else who has this need.
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    activate
    set findRange to find object of selection
    clear formatting findRange -- clear any previous formatting used in a find operation
    set forward of findRange to true -- find forward
    set style of findRange to "List Bullet" -- the style to look for
    tell findRange
    set gotIt to execute find find text "" -- do the search w/o matching any text
    end tell
    if gotIt is true then -- if a match was found
    copy object selection -- copy it to the clipboard
    set mySelection to (the clipboard) -- then put clipboard into a variable
    set myOffset to ¬
    (get selection information selection information type ¬
    (horizontal position relative to page)) -- now put selection info into a variable
    display dialog mySelection & return & (myOffset as text) -- then display it
    end if
    end tell

    Sirrick,
    If I understand your question correctly, you want to programmatically set how many array elements (clusters) to show. You can do this with the Array properties: Number of Rows and Number of Columns. Please see the attached VI.

  • Frame 9 solution for table column + side head does not work in Frame 10 and 11

    In Frame 9 structured (DITA) we could force Frame to record the actual widths of table columns in the DITA XML.  Frame 9 would respect the widths when opening the file.  This was particularly useful for forcing tables to be wide -- to go across the column and the side head -- and for the columns to never resize.
    In Frame 9 this was done by commenting out the line
    "writer use proportional widths;"
    like this
    "/* writer use proportional widths; */"
    in the topic.rules.text" file located in
    "...\FrameMaker9\Structure\xml\DITA\app\DITA-Topic-FM"
    This no longer works in Frame10 and Frame 11.  Even though the same line is commented out in all the "NAME.rules.txt" files in all the subdirectories of
        "...\AdobeFrameMaker11\Structure\xml\DITA_1.2\app"
    and
        "...\AdobeFrameMaker11\Structure\xml\DITA\app"
    and
        "...\AdobeFrameMaker10\Structure\xml\DITA_1.2\app"
    and
        "...\AdobeFrameMaker10\Structure\xml\DITA\app"  .
    Commenting out the line does force Frame 10 and 11 to record  the absolute column width (2.357" etc.) in the DITA XML.
    However, on Open,  Frame 10 and 11 force the table to fit in the column, not the column and sidehead. That is they behave as though they were still using proportional column widths.  It seems the original values (as inserted by Frame 10 and 11 before closing!) are recalculated on Open, thereby mimicking the default proportional width behavior.
    For example, this on Save then Close from Frame 10 or 11
    <table frame = "topbot" colsep = "0" rowsep = "1">
    <tgroup cols = "4" colsep = "0" rowsep = "1" outputclass = "FormatB">
    <colspec colnum = "1" colname = "1" colwidth = "1.796in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "2" colname = "2" colwidth = "1.852in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "3" colname = "3" colwidth = "1.179in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "4" colname = "4" colwidth = "2.152in" colsep = "0"/>
    goes to this on Open then Save:
    <table frame = "topbot" colsep = "0" rowsep = "1">
    <tgroup cols = "4" colsep = "0" rowsep = "1" outputclass = "FormatB">
    <colspec colnum = "1" colname = "1" colwidth = "1.351in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "2" colname = "2" colwidth = "1.393in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "3" colname = "3" colwidth = "0.887in" colsep = "0"/>
    <colspec colnum = "4" colname = "4" colwidth = "1.618in" colsep = "0"/>
    Any help at all would be appreciated!
    We have 8,000 to 10,000 pages to PDF in the next few days and about 33% of those pages are messed up tables!

    Hi...
    Unfortunately, I don't have any insight into the default DITA table handling in FM10 or FM11 .. so can't give you the answer you're looking for. Since both FM10 and FM11 offer ExtendScript, you could write a script (or have one written) that processes all of your files to reset the table widths. Or, perhaps the best short term solution may be to reinstall FM9 to get the job done, then spend more time later to figure out a better solution.
    One alternative would be for you to use DITA-FMx, which supports the table/@pgwide attribute for controlling which tables span the page and which don't. Since your tables probably don't make use of this attribute, it won't help in the near term, but might make sense going forward.

  • Too many table columns

    Hi,
    I have to create a pdf with a table having multiple columns.
    But the table has too many columns to fit in a A4 page.
    I do not wan to change the paper type. I have to use A4 paper only.
    Is there a way in which I can show the table records in two consecutive rows..
    so that I can split the columns into two rows.
    There will be two header rows... and two data rows (only data rows will repeat)
    data row1 will have data from say fields 1 to 10 and data row 2 will have data from fields 11 to 20.
    Regards
    Reema.

    As far as I know there's probably no way ID is going to do what you want.
    You can place a table across a multiple page spread, but the odds of being able to do that and still keep the file printable are marginal, at best. You can't for example, leave blank space at the gutters unless you are able to add a blank column that spans the gutter, and the limt for multipage spreads is 10 pages wide, whcih doesn't sound like it's probably enough to hold almost 600 columns.
    Perhaps placing the table using named ranges of appropriate widths would work...
