How authenticate against two LDAP aor database

In my application I wanted to put something like if user put LDAP user and password or database login then they should be able to login to application.
How do I do that?

Sorry, I've no answer to your question, but I'm interested from where you get the version 10.1.3.4.2 ? Is this version available?

  • How to connect two different oracle databases

    Hi All,
    I have a special scenario like the following:
    I have an oracle Database 10g, it has to get some data from the Oracle Apps Database (the API is defined in the Views and Packages of the 10g database)
    Is it possible for me to make a connection with the 10g database to the Apps database.
    Do I have to use any engines like JDBC for the connection between the two databases
    The issue here is because of security Issue, I cant create a database schema in the Apps database
    What can be the solution for this issue..
    Many thanks in advance
    and best regards.......

    You might be able to use a database link to connect from one db to another.

  • How to make two standalone oracle databases into master/slave relationship

    i'm not talking about RAC...
    is there any way to make two oracle databases into master/slave relationship? one is hot one is cold, when the hot one is down, the cold one automatically picks up? and of course two databases are in sync all the time.
    any experience?

    DataGuard is an enterprise edition feature.
    You could roll your own standby database by cloning the production system to a backup server and writing scripts that copy the archived log files from the primary to the standby and that apply the archived logs on the standby. Of course, the transactions that had been applied to the primary that were still in the primary's redo logs would be lost if the primary were to fail. DataGuard provides options to keep the standby more closely in sync with the standby to reduce or eliminate that risk, which is one of the reasons that it's an enterprise edition feature.
    If you're on Windows, Oracle FailSafe may also be something to look at.

  • Assigning a login module to a single WebDynpro to authenticate against LDAP

    Hi there,
    we are running the J2EE Engine 7.0 within XI on SAP NetWeaver 2004s / Linux x86_64.
    Basically, i want to Authenticate a Java WebDynpro against an LDAP (Active Directory). With the XI Usage installed, I can not customize the UME to authenticate against an LDAP (not supported and not possible).
    Thus, I want to use a custom login module or, if suitable, a standard login module to authenticate against LDAP. I know that all WebDynpro Apps use the default authentication scheme that in turn references the authentication template "ticket".
    1) Can I use a predefined Login Module to authenticate against Active Directory LDAP or do I have to write a custom login module?
    2) Is it possible to assign a login module to a single WebDynpro and how can I do this?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Oliver Kalkofen

    > Thus, I want to use a custom login module or, if
    > suitable, a standard login module to authenticate
    > against LDAP.
    We have developed a custom login module which does this. It looks to the user like the BasicPasswordLoginModule provided with SAP, but the userid and password entered has to be a valid accountpassword from the Active Director domain. We use the Kerberos protocol to perform this useridpassword validation, not LDAP. The userid can be just a name, in which case the default domain (realm in Kerberos terminology) or it can be specified as user@REALM in which case a non-default realm can be used to authenticate. Once the authentication is complete, we look in USRACL table to map this Kerberos principal name onto a SAP userid so we can then create an SSO2 ticket.
    If you interested to evaluate, or get a quote for purchasing this, please contact me offline. Of course, you can develop your own if you are happy to do so. I just thought you might be interested to know of an alternative.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • How to setup an LDAP filter in OpenDirectory

    Hello,
    I hope I am posting to the right forum.
    I have an existing central directory managed by LDAP.
    The users can authenticate against my LDAP server.
    In the LDAP directory, the users have a special attribute, making a list of machines and services they can or cannot access.
    How to configure OpenDirectory to apply a filter to the LDAP records, so only users with a given value (lets say "macosx" in a given attribute) can authenticate?
    For example, on another machine (FreeBSD) I have the following in pal_ldap configuration:
    nssbasepasswd ou=People,ou=csim,dc=cs,dc=ait,dc=ac,dc=th?one?csimAccountPermission=sambalogin
    where csimAccountPermission=sambalogin is the filter and only users with that key will be able to use samba service.
    TIA,
    Olivier

    Please try this forum, its for OS X server.

  • How to authenticate CXF-Webservice against external LDAP in WebLogic?

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to integrate our Camel-application into WebLogic 12c. All the incoming endpoints are CXF-based webservices. These are secured by "UsernameToken Timestamp" with the WSS4JInInterceptor configured like this:
    <bean id="wss4jInInterceptor" class="org.apache.cxf.ws.security.wss4j.WSS4JInInterceptor">
              <constructor-arg>
                   <map>
                        <entry key="action" value="UsernameToken Timestamp" />
                        <entry key="passwordType" value="PasswordDigest" />
                        <entry key="passwordCallbackClass"
                             value="de.mycompany.camel.cxf.UserTokenCallbackHandler" />
                   </map>
              </constructor-arg>
    </bean>
    My problem is: WSS4JInInterceptor expects the UserTokenCallbackHandler to return the password of the user delivered in the header <wsse:Username>. Is there any way to retrieve this from an external LDAP configured in WebLogic? I've already managed to retrieve the users, groups etc with JMX (javax.management.MBeanServerConnection and weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAuthenticatorMBean), but I can't figure out how to authenticate the user against the LDAP, i. e. retrieve the password.
    Or am I heading in a completely wrong direction and this is not the way to achieve authentication for CXF-Webservices in WebLogic?
    Please give me a hint (code-snippets preferred ;-) ) how to solve this.
    Regards,
    Frank

    I have run into the exact same situation ? Did you ever get around this ? If so, how ? Please let me know.

  • How do you get OS X Lion to authenticate against LDAP?

    Need help getting OpenLDAP to authenticate against LDAP on  Linux server....please help!

    Go to the Users & Groups system preferences, click "Login Options:" and then click "Edit" next to "Network Account Server." Then click the plus button and add your LDAP authentication server. You can also click the Directory Utility button to further refine the settings for your server and the LDAP service.

  • Authenticate OID against external LDAP v3 Directory

    If so can you provide any assistance as to how this was achieved.
    Thank you.

    Bill,
    What documentation did you use to get this working. Our infrastructure team has really struggled figuring out how to have AD be the single signon source for our Oracle apps and technologies (Portal, Collab Suite, ...) Our EBS install is hosted at OOD.

  • How to synchronize two database in ur java program

    Hi All
    How to synchronize two data base of mysql using java programing language?
    If somebody has any idea that will help me a lot.
    Thanks and regards
    Srikant

    Of corse I have an idea, but not good!
    If you know the database stucture then copy data from one to another.
    Open 2 connections: one to source and one to dest.
    And:
    String sql = "SELCET * from mytable1";// from source
    string sql2;
    Statement st1 = connSrc.createStatement();
    Statement st2 = connDest.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = st1.executeQuerry(sql);
    while(rs.next()){
    sql2 = "INSERT INTO mytable1 ('field1', 'filed2') VALUES ("+
    "'"+rs.get(filed1")+"',"+
    "'"+rs.get(filed2')+"'"+
    st2.executeUpdate(sql2);
    // the destination was cleared before this: DELETE FROM mytable1 WHERE 1
    This is a mysql sample without processing the errors.

  • How to set two attributes as  a primary key in database ?

    how to set two attributes as a primary key?
    Take COffeesbreak as an example ,
    let's suppose that there are cof_name ,sup_id,price and so on;
    the same cof_name may be suplied by more sup_ids,
    and one sup_id may suply more cof_names.
    so the Primary key should be set the cof_name and sup_id ,
    how to set ?
    (of course that i konw if I set a cof_id,the problem will be easy work out
    but now there are those like above)
    I set that as following:
    create table coffees (cof_name VARCHAR(32) PRIMARY KEY,sup_id INTEGER, PRIMARY KEY,PRICE INTEGER )
    THE database print error :cant add more primary keys!
    thanks in advance

    You can only use the PRIMARY KEY declaration on a column if it is the only Primary Key column.
    Use the PRIMARY KEY constraint statement instead.
    create table coffees (
      cof_name VARCHAR(32),
      sup_id INTEGER,
      PRICE INTEGER,
      PRIMARY KEY ( cof_name ,sup_id )
    )Dave

  • How to use two sets of books with one responsibility

    Does anyone know if it is possible to run reports in the General Ledger business area of the Oracle EUL against two or more sets of books with the same responsibility? For example, I want a regional finance manager to be able to run a Discoverer GL report for both Bolivia and Peru using their South America GL Manager responsibility. It looks like you can do that for AR using HR security profiles but I'm not sure how to do it for GL. Thanks.
    Greg

    Hi,
    There are two types of security: business areas security which allows a user to access the folders in a BA and is controlled through Discoverer; and data security which filters the data returned in the report. The data security is usually implemented as a condition in the views mapped in the EUL, though it can be implemented as mandatory conditions in the EUL. The data security is controlled by Application system profiles.
    In your case you will have conditions in the database views which only returning data for the set of books defined in the profile for the current responsibility. To bypass this security so that a responsibility can report on multiple sets of books you need to create new folders in the EUL that map onto database view or tables that do not have the data security.
    Hope that helps,
    Rod West

  • [ SOLVED] Authentication against two openldap servers.

    Hi everyone.
    Here is the deal. I have two openldap servers, used for user authentication (master and slave). I have all the clients to be able to authenticate users against the master openldap server, and that is working fine. I want to make them to be able to authenticate against the slave server, if the master is down for any reasons. Is there a way to configure the clients, and is that the way to manage this, or I have to use another software as heartbeat or something like heartbeat.
    Regards.
    PS: Sorry. I found it. It is written in the /etc/ldap.conf file. If you want authentication against several ldap servers, you have to specify them in the 'uri' row, separated by spaces.

    Hi,
    Is there a possibility to configure somewhere an external LDAP just for authentication purposes (possibly PKI), leaving everything else in OID?
    Yes, in our project we are using a third party LDAP server for authentication, whereas the rest of the user information is stored in the OID. I don't know the details about the implementation but we used DIP (Directory Integration Platform) to create and register a plugin. The plugin replaces the default 'ldapcompare' method that the SSO uses with our own method that makes a call to a third party ldap. Our code was written in PL/SQL and used the DBMS_LDAP package.
    You should be able to find more info from OID developers guide. http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/90200doc_otn/manage.902/a95193.pdf
    Good luck!

  • One Portal Two LDAP

    Hello,
    we have the following question: We have a server with Portal 7.0
    Can i configured the authentication against LDAP? The answer is YES, but,
    can i to do this against 2 LDAP? The answer is YES
    BUT... what happen if one LDAP is in my Intranet and other is in my DMZ????
    Someone test something like that??
    Please give me any advice and, it is possible, the steps to follow
    Many Thanks
    Gaby

    Hi Gabriel,
    this should be possible, the biggest problem imo is to make sure that internal and external User IDs are not mixed up, as this can relly become a nightmare in some scenarios, although it is possible to create the same user in two LDAPs and connect them both to the portal. Another point to consider is, whether you want internal users to authenticate from the intranet only or if you want them to be able to logon from the internet, too. In a "default" configuration with two LDAPs anyone can logon from anywhere, so you would have to manipulate the logonstacks, maybe by defining your own login module which checks from which LDAP a user comes and checking the client IP ranges from your intranet or something like that.
    Also, it is possible to put the portal server into the DMZ , but finding all the ports to open to your LAN and all the servers communicating with the portal box in any way can also turn out to be nightmare, and I know what I am speaking of here
    This link to help.sap.com might help you in configuring two LDA Data sources:
