How can I convert a mysql sql script to a oracle sql script
Hi,
We have a bunch of tables with data running on a mysql server.
This should now be moved to an oracle 9 db.
are there any tools to convert the import script of a mysql db
to a format of the sql script that work for oracle ?
Thanks
Michael
Oracle has a tool called Migration Toolbench, which supports MySQL 3.22 and 3.23:
http://otn.oracle.com/tech/migration/workbench/content.html
On this same topic, I was wondering if anybody has tried migrating from PostgreSQL to Oracle 9i. The workbench doesn't seem to support it, and feeding a pg_dump file directly into SQL*Plus is not working.

How can I convert Upper case word in Title case in Sap-Script
Hi All,
I have a text 'AAAAA BBBBB CCCCC' in sap-script.
I want to display it as 'Aaaa Bbbbb Ccccc'.Hi,
Another way could be to call the FM <b>SWA_STRING_TO_UPPERCASE</b> from your sapscript for every string that you want in the desired format. It translates first character of each alphabetical substring to upper case. Set the input parameter <b>PRESERVE_EXISTING_CAPITALS</b> = SPACE, if your are receiving the values already in uppercase.
Hope this helps.

As I opened the places.sqlite with an sqlite-editor I found out that firefox saves the last_visit_date via a timestamp which is 16 digits long. I realized that the first 10 digits are similar to the corresponding unix-timestamp but not equal. So.. how can i convert the firefox-timestamp into a normal date? Or into the corresponding unix-timestamp?
Write a bash script or 'C' program to change the date format and then use the sql update function to receive the stdio output 'where date_field='embeded date value'.

How can I convert a Database Handle from TestStand to LabVIEW?
I want to use a Database Handle (already created in TestStand by an Open Database step) in a LabVIEW-VI (called from TestStand) to connect it with the "Connection Reference" input of the "Easy SQL.vi"? If I use a directly connection via the "TestStand - Get Property Value (Number).vi" I get back the error message 4101 in LabVIEW. How can I convert the Database Handle?
Test Engineering
digades GmbH
www.digades.comThe TestStand database step types use the CVI SQL Toolkit to talk to databases. The handle that you are referencing is an internal memory location and not a actual handle that you can directly use. Currently as implemented the handle that is stored in a numeric TestStand property for the connection and the SQL statement are the handle values returned from the CVI SQL Toolkit. So for the connection handle, you could call the CVI SQL Toolkit function
DBGetConnectionAttribute (
int Connection_Handle,
tDBConnectionAttr Attribute,
void *Value);
and get the CVI CAObjHandle reference. With this you could then call the CVI ActiveX function
CA_GetInterfaceFromObjHandle(
CAObjHandle Object_Handle,
const IID *Interface_Id,
int Force_AddRef,
void *Inte
rface_Ptr,
int *Did_AddRef);
to get the actual ActiveX interface reference. This would have to be converted into a LabVIEW reference.
You may want to consider just using LabVIEW to open a new parallel reference only using the toolkit.

How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database(MSSQL)?
Dears,
How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose. BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?
Thanks a lot!
Kevin WangHello Kevin,
The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier. -

How can I convert Float numbers which are represented as 'E-05' to full precision
I have over 6,000 records which all have 'E-05' in the field.
It should actually be full precision, such as: 0.000046793055472781
How can I convert all of these? There are around 600,000 records in the whole table, so I only want to convert the 'E-05' records. For some reason these are incorrect, but all the others are totally fine.
Knowledge is the only thing that I can give you, and still retain, and we are both better off for it.If they are float values, they have the full precision you can get with a float value.
Keep in mind that what you see in management studio is a textual representation of the value. It is not the value itself. A float value is stored as 53 bits of mantissa and an 11-bit exponent which is a power of 2.
To view the value without the exponent, you can cast to decimal, although this will give you a slightly different value. You can also use the str function:
DECLARE @f float
SELECT @f = 0.000046793055472781
SELECT str(@f, 20, 18)
However, formatting of the value is best done in the presentation layer. You should not change the data you have in the table. But if the source is actually exact decimal values, maybe you should use a decimal data type instead.

How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?
Sir,
How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?I assume you at least know how to dump the contents of foxpro dbf file into CSV format.
Regarding SQL*Loader, hope this demo makes it a bit clear to you...

I agree that it is an old web page (references Oracle 8.0.5) but basics remain the same.

Arun M MWhat are you going to return the structure to? What I would normally use here if the code was going to be used by other PL/SQL would be a PL/SQL object type.
However, if PowerBuilder is still in the equation (you're moving the logic to PL/SQL but keeping PowerBuilder for the GUI ), then you'll have to return something else, because PowerBuilder doesn't understand PL/SQL object types. Perhaps passing a REF CURSOR as a OUT argument and populating it from the procedure. PowerBuilder could then retrieve the result of the procedure using a stored procedure based DataWindow. -
How can I convert a Waveform to a String-Format?
Hello,
I write with "SQL-Execute.vi" datas to an Access-file. The "SQL-Execute.vi" needs a statement in String Format. And that is my problem. My source-datas (that I want to save to Access) are Waveforms. How can I convert the Waveform datas to a String Format?
Thanks for help!Wire the waveform to the Get waveform componants function...from that you get t0, delta t and the sample values. Now you can generate whatever string you want based on that information...
You could e.g. wire the Y array to a for-loop in which you calculate the time of each sample by taking t0 and adding delta t multiplied with the array index, then you could convert the Y value and the time to strings using the seconds to time string and number to fractional string functions...etc etc...

How can I convert an InputStream to a FileInputStream ???
How can I convert an InputStream to a FileInputStream ???
Thanks for you reply, however, I am still stuck.
I am trying to convert my application (which runs smoothly) to a signed applet. The following is the original (application) code:
private void loadConfig() {
String fileName = "resources/groupconfig";
File name = new File(fileName);
if(name.isFile()) {
try {
ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(new FileInputStream(fileName));
pAndGConfig = (PAGroupsConfig)in.readObject();
in.close();
return;
} catch(ClassNotFoundException e) {
System.err.println("++ERROR: "+e);
} catch(IOException e) {
System.err.println("++ERROR: "+e);
System.out.println("Can't find file: " + fileName);
Because all code and resources now reside in a Jar file (for the signed applet), I must use the following line to access the resources:
InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream(fileName);
I then need to convert the 'InputStream' to 'ObjectInputStream' or 'FileInputStream' so that I can work with it.
I would be very grateful if you could help shed some light on the matter - Cobram -
