How can I dynamically access FP2200 serial number from my deployed RT application

I'm looking for a way to access the serial number of a FP target from the application which is deployed on it. I hope to use this number as part of my database so the database can identify the FP in a unique way that is guaranteed not to change. An RT application needs to know the serial number so it can be used in queries.
I also want to find a way to dynamically read the name assigned to the module.
I did not see a way to access the serial number or the name in labview but I know it must be stored somewhere since it can be seen in M&A explorer.

Hi kgolden. Try the Get Target Info (IP).vi. In my (8.5.1) system it is under 7.x Functions, User Libraries, RT System Replication, so my
guess is that it came from the System Replication libraries, which have lots of other neat stuff.

Find your serial number quickly
You can activate software without following up and registering it... at least that was the case in the past. The serial number is normally located on the disc case or a box inside the main box. If you did not purchase the disc from Adobe then it is possible you would have dealt with a redemption code, in which case it would have been up to you to keep a record of the serial number, especially if you did not follow up and register the software.

I own Logic Studio and have already had it loaded but changed the drive for a bigger drive and have to reload it. How can I dynamically access serial number from FP1601 device?

This question is similar to one I asked about FP2200 for getting the serial number dynamically but since it pertains to a different module without an OS and will probably use different VIs, I started a new thread.
I need to do the same thing for FP1601 modules, which don't use the RT VIs which enabled me to get the serial number off of FP2200. How can I get such information out of a "dumb" field point with no OS? The serial number is displayed in measurement and automation explorer so it must be stored somewhere.

Unfortunately, with the non-RealTime devices, finding the serial number programatically this isn't as easy. You can however, use the VIs on the Measurement I/O>>System Configuration palette to find the devices on your system and then read/write the device's setting (such as the serial number). There are shipping examples in LabVIEW that show how to use the VIs. You can get to these examples by Going to Help>>Find Examples in LabVIEW. The system configuration examples are in the Hardware Input and Output>>System Configuration. You should be able to modify the Show All Hardware VI to find your FieldPoint and serial number.

My computer was stolen, how can I track down a serial number?

I'm in need of some assistance. My Mac was stolen during an apartment burglary. It was a gift from a family member who doesn't have any type of receipt. I apparently didn't register my Mac either, my iPad and iPod yes, my stolen laptop of course not. My insurance company is requesting the serial number or some sort of proof of ownership. Any ideas how I can track down the serial number?

How can my MacBook recognize its serial number again?

My MacBook (duo intel core) will not recognize its serail number.
I had the logic board exchanged last year because the old one broke down. I learned just recently that the serial number was not reinstalled again, because I want to use automatic DHCP to get an IP in our new local network. There the MacBook is registered with its serial number. But it can't get the IP-address since it doesn't recognize its serial number. Instead the system profiler will show (language is german):
Seriennummer: SystemSerialNumb

You can't, unfortunately - this should have been done at Apple.
The network has no way to find out the serial number of attached computers, even if it did have one. More commonly, a machine's MAC address (ethernet or wireless ID) is used to identify it. You can find out this information through System Profiler.
