How can I get my phone out of restore repair without restoring it?

I hooked my phone to my computer to download songs. I didn't download the newest version of iTunes on my computer. Then I decided to update my phone to the newest IOS, thinking I would fix some bugs on my phone. My phone started updating and closed up. After 20 minutes, I look back on iTunes and realize that my phone cannot update because I did not update the newest version of iTunes to my computer. My phone is now locked up and I cannot turn it on or get it to work or anything, all it tells me is to hook it to iTunes. When I do, it says my phone is on "Restore repair" and I need to restore my phone. I really really really do not wish to restore because I do not want to lose precious photos and videos from all my concerts and shows I've been to, they mean so much to me and I have been meaning to take them off but haven't gotten around to do so. My phone is the only place that has them all that I'm aware of. I'm not a 100% sure if my phone backs up automatically onto my computer.
I'm just really scared I will lose my photos and videos and don't want to restore.
Any way I can get my phone unlocked without restoring?

If your phone is in recovery mode and is asking you to restore it, all data on it are already gone.  You MUST restore.

  • How can I get my phone out of restoration mode without losing my pictures?

I was trying to back-up my phone on my new laptop, but it somehow disconnected itself, so it went into recovery mode. I was wondering if there was any way of either getting it out of recovery mode, or restoring it, without losing all the pictures I have on it? I did not have my icloud on for my picture roll, so that's out of the question.

There is a safe boot on a Mac but I have never heard of anything like that on an iPad.
If you are referring to restore mode where the iPad displays a USB connector and iTunes then the data on the iPad is already gone and you might as well connect it up to your computer and restore so that it works.

  • How can I get my ipad out of recovery mode without losing all of my data

I plugged my ipad into my laptop to charge, it went into recovery mode, I cannot lose my data.  How can I save my data and get out of recovery mode?

Unplug it from your laptop and try a reset:
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
If it goes back into Recovery Mode then unfortunately your data is already lost.
Restore from your iCloud or iTunes backup.
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

  • How can I get the best out of my battery life?

There are a variety of things you can do to extend your device battery life, and use your phone for longer periods of time to see you through the day.
Set your screen to timeout after a period of inactivity. This way your phone is not sitting idle with the screen backlight consuming extra energy. The recommended screen timeout is 30 seconds, but most phones will allow from 15 seconds to 10 minutes.
Turn off location services (GPS), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not using these functions. When they're on, your phone constantly searches for your current location and open networks, which has a big impact on battery life.
Turn down the screen brightness. For example, on an iPhone 4 the lowest brightness setting gives roughly 6.5 hours of continuous use, whereas the highest setting gives roughly 3.5 hours. You can always adjust the brightness when you're outside so you can still see your screen clearly. Some devices have an auto-brightness setting, where the phone adjusts the screen brightness depending on the light around it.
Close your applications. On smartphones, returning to the ‘home' screen only minimises your apps – they keep running in the background. Closing your apps fully will save power; for example, on Samsung Galaxy devices hold down the home button for two seconds to see a list of all open apps. You can then swipe these to the left of the screen to exit them completely. On an Apple product, double press the home button to bring up all active applications and exit from there.

Re: How can I get the best out of my battery life?
    Hi,
When I make phone calls people on the other end have difficulty hearing me. They describe as they can hardly hear me as if I was speaking through the pillow etc). I am not touching any buttons and obviously it is not mute. This was happening couple of time in June, then every now and then. Recently it happened a few time in 2 weeks. I was trying to check if it was a reception issue but the place I spoke from is my office I make 70% of phone calls from. Can you book time for me in repair shop and address the issue.
    Thank you.
