How can I make app use all available space in window?

Hi,
I'm trying to embed my flash app in a browser window and have
it use all available space. I've found plenty of tutorials online
that tell me how to make it take up the whole window, and they
work, but that isn't what I want. I have other content on the page
(a bar of links across the top). I thus want the flash app to take
up the full width and almost all the hight, leaving enough vertical
space for the link bar at the top. Right now, I have it set to 100%
for both height and width in the object tag, and it displays the
link bar, but the bottom of the flash gets chopped off (an amount
exactly equal to the height of the link bar). It seems that setting
height=100% means 100% of the full window height, not the unused
height. Is there any way to make it do what I want?

I believe the 100% will be relative to the parent container
of the Object/Embed tag.
If the Flex app is in say, a DIV that is correctly sized,
then 100% will fill the DIV. So I think you will need to get your
div sizing dynamically. A CSS expression maybe?

  • How can I make server use single class loader for several applications

I have several web/ejb applications. These applications use some common libraries and should share instances of classes from those libraries.
But applications are being deployed independently thus packaging all them to EAR is not acceptable.
I suppose the problem is that each application uses separate class loader.
How can I make AS use single class loader for a set of applications?
Different applications depend on different libraries so I need a way that will not share library for all applications on the domain but only for some exact applications.
When I placed common jar to *%domain%/lib* - all works. But that jar is shared between all applications on the domain.
When I tried to place common jar to *%domain%/lib/applibs* and specified --libraries* attribute on deploying I got exception
    java.lang.ClassCastException: a.FirstDao cannot be cast to a.FirstDaoHere http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19879-01/820-4336/6nfqd2b1t/index.html I read:
If multiple applications or modules refer to the same libraries, classes in those libraries are automatically shared.
This can reduce the memory footprint and allow sharing of static information.Does it mean that classes should be able to be casted ?

You didn't specify which version of the application server you are using, but the config is similar as long as you know what to look for. Basically, you need to change the classloader delegation. Here's how it is done in 8.2

  • How can I make multi partitions in my computer with Windows 7??

How can I make multi partitions in my MakBook with Windows 7??

From what I read you can't. If you used Boot Camp to partition the Macintosh hard drive so you could install Win 7 on a boot camp partition you are locked into that one partition.
If you try to RE-partition that BC partition Win 7 won't boot, and IIRC there is a possibility of OS X not booting (Not sure about that). I just went through this myself.
That's one of the big reason I have gone back to Win PCs as my main systems.
Mac's are OK but to restrictive in what you can do with the hardware, and the OS IMHO.

How can I return to use OSX (Yosemite) after installing Windows 8.1?
I cannot find Boot Camp on my iMac (late 2013) with windows installed. So I downloaded it, but I cannot run it because of an error (x64...). I tried to use my USB stick with bootcamp installed but nothing. When I turn my iMac on it starts automatically with windows. I tried to search it, but I found only the setup and it doesn't work. How can I get back to my APPLE iMac? How can I use OSX?
Excuse me for the (maybe) uncorrect language, I speak Italian.

    Hello!
You can start your Mac up with the [alt] (sometimes [option]) key pressed and you will get the Startup Manager.

  • While no applications are running, something is writing to the HD, using all available space

Very strange issue - This a White Mac Book, probably 6 years old, running 10.8.4 with 4g ram, 160G HD.
There's some process writing to the hard drive while no applications are running, using all the available disk space. I can watch the available space become less and less. At the same time, everytime I try to move anything to the trash, I get a prompt to authenticate. Once a password is entered, the files don't get put into the trash, but become deleted right away.
Things I've done to attempt to correct:
    Flash P-Ram - no effect
fsck -fy from single user - disk structure is ok, no errors.
Run verify and repair permissions from the recovery partition. Had no effect.
There is no AV app installed, but there's no space to install to check for viruses. Whatever is writing to the disk uses any available space which won't allow anything to be installed.
Can't create a new user as there's no disk space.
Only option I see is reinstalling the OS which I'm trying to avoid if I can.
    Any thoughts/Suggestions? Thanks.

If you haven't done so, try a Safe Mode boot ..
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes a longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.
If that doesn't help, try locating a diagnostics log file.
Open the Console app located in HD > Applications > Utilites
Select:  System Diagnostic Reports  on the left.
Copy and paste the most recent kernel panic or crash log in your Reply.
Hopefully that will narrow down the problem.

  • Internet Shortcuts saved on Desktop open new instance of Firefox 3.6 using clean profile--how can I make it open all shortcuts using current profile?

I rely heavily on Firefox's profiling ability to assist me in my web design projects. Lately, using Firefox 3.6, I have run into some problems with how it opens Internet Shortcuts that are saved locally (i.e.- shortcuts that reside on my Desktop). When I double-click on one of these shortcuts, a new instance of Firefox 3.6 is loaded with the saved website from the shortcut, but it's also initialized a fresh profile (i.e.- my bookmarks are gone, no add-ons, etc.--it's as if it uses some sort of "hidden" clean slate to load the shortcuts).
Is there any way to force Firefox to load all shortcuts into whatever profile I'm currently using at that given moment? I think the reason this has happened to begin with is because of the fact that I did some stuff to Internet Explorer awhile back that caused some problems with the Internet Shortcut associations and it all led to this eventuality.
I'm running Windows XP Pro and have the following profiles with my Firefox versions:
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3.6\firefox.exe" -no-remote -p Firefox3.6
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox N\firefox.exe" -no-remote -p FirefoxN
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3\firefox.exe" -no-remote -p Firefox3
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2\firefox.exe" --no-remote -p Firefox2
When I go into the "Folder Options / File Types" and double-click on "Internet Shortcut", I have the following within the "Advanced" settings (for the "open" action):
    Action: open
Application used to perform action: rundll32.exe shdocvw.dll,OpenURL %l
    "Use DDE" is checked...
    "DDE Message" is blank...
    "Application" is "shdocvw"...
"DDE Application Not Running" is blank...
    "Topic" is "System"
Again, I think the root problem here is to do with the profiles and how they're handled when being opened with Firefox but I can't discern how to apply a fix with all this as I've obviously goobered this up a bit. I would really appreciate some professional knowledge on this and would prefer to avoid any reinstalls of anything if possible.

To save your sanity with this issue, my advice is to find a method other than desktop shortcuts to open those URL's.
    1. Desktop shortcuts are going to open the Default Browser.
    a. With multiple versions of Firefox installed that would be the last version that was installed when you have Firefox set as the Default Browser in Windows..
    b. The Default Browser is going to use the Profile that shows a Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.
    c. The Default Browser with the Default Profile isn't going to open if you have any other versions of Firefox already running, and the -no-remote command line parameter doesn't work in this situation.
    2. The use of multiple Profiles and multiple versions isn't officially supported by Mozilla, and all the Bug reports that I have ever read about Requests for Enhancement have been WONTFIX'd by the developers. Basically we have to work with the limitations in Firefox and maybe improvise work arounds by ourselves. I've even seen a few threats about removing Profiles altogether in RFE Bug reports about Profiles.
I have had so many problems over the years with this Default Browser / Default Profile thing over the years that personally I find it easier to just set Opera as the Default Browser in Windows rather than have a Profile get b0rked because some other program I am using decides it wants to open the Default Browser unexpectedly. I don't use Opera for much, but it is a lot better than IE for purposes of being the Default Browser, considering the quirks I have seen with Firefox and multiple Profiles.
I have written a number of postings over at the MozillaZine Builds forum over the years about installing multiple versions of Firefox and using multiple Profiles. There's a lot of tips and comments provided by other multiple Profile users in one of those threads. Why don't you read those threads and see if it gives you some ideas or solutions I haven't thought of.

  • How can I make apps in a Windows PC

Hello, i what to make apps for Apple Store but i don't have a Mac or a iOS but I have heard that I can make apps in my computer that has installed Windows 7, is that true ?

Conduit also has a free app builder for iOS that you can use right winthin your own browser window! NO MAC REQUIRED!
That is not correct. OP, be sure to read through all details of how these services work before jumping in, since your goal is to publish an app to the Apple App Store. For example, Conduit's Guidelines for Submitting Apps to the Apple App Store state you need an Apple iOS Developer account and include this:
Note: You will need to complete the last step of the submission process using a Mac computer
The appsbar site does not have any details about the iOS app submission process. The web site does state iOS apps are HTML5, so I suspect appsbar apps for iOS are web apps accessible through the browser, not the Apple App store. Otherwise the submission process would take way longer than the stated 3 to 5 days.

  • How can I make LR show ALL my subfolders?

I have LR 5.3. I have an external drive with a master folder ("all my photos") within which are multple subfolders. When I enter LR in Library view, I only see the folders that have had images imported into LR. I want to move some of hte photos I have imported to some of the other folders, but those other folders do not appear. I have tried "show parent folder" and then expanding it, but that does not help. The folder I *WANT* to move these photos TO, is BELOW the folder that has the photos. Here's my structure:
    all my photosfamily
    birthdays2013-new
    holidays
I have imported into birthdays (2013-new) and now I want to MOVE that folder to holidays, but the holidays folder does not show up in LR. I have tried putting photos directly into holidays, doing an import+"uncheck all" but the import button then goes gray, so I can't continue the null-import.
How can I get "holidays" to appear without importing anything (I actually have DOZENS of such folders I want to appear).
    Hoping for a clue,
    DJ

Yes, it sounds workable, but you can do one export of an entire folder, or an entire collection, instead of exporting each photo individually. Are you aware that you don't have to export every photo that you edit? You export only when needed for some non-Lightroom purpose; so for example, if you have edited 100 photos, and then you decide that you want 25 for a slideshow in JAlbum, then you would only export those 25.
You can have photos exported to the same folder as the original, this is an option in the Export dialog section named Export Location. You can assign custom names using the File Naming section of the Export Dialog box, so you aren't overwriting your original, and you can easily tell which one is the export.
When I see "collections" in the panels, I don't see the folders the photos came from. Maybe I'm not looking inthe right place.
Collections only exist in Lightroom. They do not exist in operating system folders. If you have a collection of photos that come from many different imported folders, then the idea of keeping the exported photos in the same folder as the original destroys the idea of keeping the photos from the collection together.
This brings up the concept of differentiating your "organization" from your "folders". These are two separate concepts in Lightroom, even though they might have been the same thing in PS and Bridge. Your organization of photos (keywords, collections) is always kept in Lightroom and can be independent of how the photos exist in folders in your operating system. In this example, where you want a collection of photos from JAlbum, I see no particular issue with keeping the collection in Lightroom, and exporting to a specific folder (not the same folder as the original folders) for JAlbum. Now, I understand you are going to say ... hey wait, I want the export and original together ... yes, they are together in Lightroom, where your organization exists, even if they are not together in folders. If you force yourself to continue to use folders as the way to organize, and you force yourself to stick with the old idea of keeping export and original together, then you lose the benefit of some of Lightroom's best features; you need to adapt and use new methods and throw out your old ideas about the way photos should be organized.
My opinion ... all organizing should be done in Lightroom, and not via folders. The only time a folder should be used is at import (the photos have to go somewhere, I use folder names based on capture date) and at export when the photos are needed for some non-Lightroom purpose (the photos have to go somewhere, you can choose a meaningful folder name). Other than that, I do not use folders for any purpose.

  • I'm about to sell my desktop, how can I make sure that all my personal information is removed beforehand?

I have a Mac os x and am about to sell it to update.  I want to be sure that all my personal information, photographs, music, bank info etc is totally deleted and unrecoverable.  How can I clean my hard drive ?

Simply erasing and reinstalling is not adequate.  As others have suggested, you should use Disk Utility to do a secure erase before reinstalling.  You also need to do some other things, like making sure to deauthorize the machine in iTunes and include the original Mac OS X install disk that shipped with the machine.  For all the details, see:
    http://www.tuaw.com/2010/09/24/mac-101-preparing-your-old-mac-for-sale-or-recycl ing/
BTW, people should not be pushing you to mark an answer as correct.  When you determine that an answer is correct, you should mark it as such, but only when you decide.
