How can I remove some menu items in the VC++ "Full featured" example that came with TestStand 3.5.

The full featured operator interface example of VC++ contains several menus such as File, Execution, Debug, Tools, and Help. I would like to remove or gray out some of the items base on the access privilege of the user's login. For instance if a user login as admin, I would turn on all the features. However, if an operator login to run a test sequence, I would only provide limited menu options.

The display of the menu items is already depending on the user's privilieges.
1/ Modify the privileges of each user profile to enable or disable some menu accesses (Look at "Using TestStand" manual, chapter 7).
2/ If you need to change the TestStand default behaviour, you can customize the privilieges needed to display some menu items :
Tools menu : The items are fully customizable. You can define the privilieges needed to display them.
Process Model : The "Enabled expressions" of the configuration and execution entry points are customizable. (->Sequence properties, "Model" tab)
3/ Finally you can customize the operator interface to choose the menu items to display. (Look at "TestStand Reference Manual", chapter 9)
But before you try to customize TestStand, try to explain your needs : The Operator Interface already updates the menu items depending on the user profile.
And an operator user has already limited menu options.
If you need to define more limited options, the easiest way is to customize the user privilieges of the "operator" profile.

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files. Create a front panel control set a value to it and it's in memory. Data carried by the wires you use to connect your code is in memory. If you are talking the icons in the upper right hand corner, that means holding down the command key as you drag the icon off the upper right corner off the menubar itself. Menuitems on the left of the help menu are application preference specific. Not all applications let you control the menubar. Applications with in the upper right can hide the entire menubar when you click on that icon in the upper right. To bring it back, click on in the same upper right corner. 10.7 and later have that full screen capability built-in for applications that support it.

Quick simple question - how can I remove all certain programs that I do want to associate with certain files?
For example - all my images I want the default to always be the "Preview" and i want it to give me the option for "Fireworks" and "Photoshop" - but my case is that aall these programs are associated to my images files.. click the link to view a screenshot I did... Thanks for the reply, appreciate it mate. I tried what was suggested, went into my finder typed "terminal" and opened the terminal program. And i inserted this line
sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServi ces.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -f -dump -domain local -domain system -domain user
press "enter" and typed my password and pressed "enter" waited a few seconds it did something a whole list of stuff and I closed the terminal and restarted my MAC and I still see the same list of apps when i click file OPEN WITH....
Im not sure why it's not doing what it's supposed to do, could I be doing (or missing something) wrong? - appreciate your help.

I believe when you plug her old iPhone in to your computer it will notify you that the phone is synced with another library and ask if you want to register it with your library. At least this is how iPods work. I'm not sure about iPhones. If you want to actually use the phone as your own you may need to go through AT&T.
If you're just looking to use the iPhone as an iPod (without the phone portion of it) you may run in to some problems. The iPhone really wants to be on a cell network all the time. I think you'd have to jailbreak it to get it to work properly as an iPod.
Let us know what happens when you plug the phone in to your computer.

The "genius" folks at the Apple Store lived up to their names. The key was to reset the iSync history in the iSync Preferences.
