If you're trying to sync your iphone to a different computer than the one that you used to import your CD's, you can't (anymore). Now that Apple is selling iTunes Match ($25/yr) you can only access non-iTunes-purchased songs if they are either:
A) on the exact computer that you used to import them into iTunes
or
B) are already synced to your iphone
Now that iTunes Match exists, if you want to move non-iTunes-purchased music that you imported on one computer...to a different computer, you have to buy iTunes Match. Awesome, huh?

No, as long as the iTunes ID you use is the same one as on your iPhone and your old computer.

If the music isn't purchased then you should be fine. Here is an application that will let you transfer the pictures from the iPod into iTunes on the laptop. This has been highly recommended here on this discussion site. There is a demo version that you can download to your laptop to see how you like it.

I recently got a new computer and all my old files and songs were lost with this new computer. I still have everything saved onto my iPod, but I'd like to take all these files and songs and save them into my computer, or atleast my iPod library. Is this possible? You can find a ''HIDDEN'' document In the iPod that contains all the Song files that has been copied on Your iPod. To This HIDDEN FILE you will have to go ''DOCUMENT OPTIONS'' then you select the second bar and You choose''SHOW HIDDEN...''. Then You find Your iPod in the ''MY COMPUTER'' and open the New Document that appeared. You Choose ''CONTENT'' then ''MUSIC'' and You Simply Drag and drop every F'' into iTunes music Library.
Your songs will be all on Your iTunes .

Depends on why it's ineligible. If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version. (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".) Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match. Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.

The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintan a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back.

1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
