  • How can I use javascript in a Text Area with HTML editor??

    My question is... how can I use javascript in Text Area with HTML editor??
    I can use javascript functions that change the content of Text Areas but i can´t if i try in text area with html editor....
    I need to limit number of characters in a text area with html editor and i can´t.
    could anybody help me please?

    I have been experiencing similar problems with the HTML Editor and have managed to find an answer that should start to answer some of my questions. The Apex HTML Editor Standard is actually an HTML editor called FCKeditor. The FCKeditor has a Javascript API that can be found at http://docs.fckeditor.net/FCKeditor_2.x/Developers_Guide/JavaScript_API. Unfortuately this doesn't seem to give the whole answer and I found more at http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/thread.cfm/threadid:49607.
    I needed to get the text entered within my html editor standard (e.g. P1_MYTEXT) and use it within my javascript function. I did this by using the following script
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function showtext(){
    var oEditor = FCKeditorAPI.GetInstance('P1_MYTEXT');
    var editortext = escape(oEditor.GetXHTML(oEditor.FormatOutput));
    alert(editortext);
    </script>
    Hope this helps.

    </form >........
    ok this i can use in normal jsp

    This forum is for JSF, not Struts. Your best bet to get your question answered, is to post to the struts user mailing list.

  • How can I use javascript functions?

    I want to put a custom image gallery on my Muse layout.
    To do that I put all my .js-files-folder in the same folder like the other html-files.
    Now I have to import javascript files, which you normally have to put between the <head></head> tags.
    <body>
         <head>
              <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.7.1.min.js"></script>
         </head>
    </body>
    That is all i want to do, so how can I put code between the <head> tags?

    There isn't currently the ability to insert things into the <head> tag, but that is something we are discussing for the future. If all you need is jQuery, it is included as part of the standard Muse JavaScript files. If you need another JS file, you can include it by putting the <script> tag in arbitrary HTML - script tags are legal in the body (generated html from Muse sites has the JS includes at the end of the body tag to improve load performance). As an example, in a site I went to Object->Insert HTML. In the popup box, I added the following code
    <div id="testThis" onclick="testFn(event)" style="width:280px;min-height:130px;border-width:1px;border-color:black;background-color:blue;position:relative;display:inline;float:left;"/>
    <script src="scripts/1.1/foo.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Then after exporting/publishing, I uploaded foo.js to the scripts/1.1 folder on my webserver. Clicking on this object then fired the testFn I added in foo.js.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I use JavaScript extention functions with Xalan for transforming XML with XSL

    While transforming standart XML and XSL files to HTML with this servlet:
    package mypackage1;

    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.mozilla.javascript;
    public class Servlet2 extends HttpServlet
    private static final String CONTENT_TYPE = "text/html; charset=windows-1252";
    public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException
    super.init(config);
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)throws ServletException, IOException

    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Source xmlSource = new StreamSource(new FileReader("c:/aaa.xml"));

    </lxslt:script>
    </lxslt:component>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <p><xsl:copy-of select="my-ext:getdate()"/></p>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    recieve error-message:
    XSL-1000: (Fatal Error) Error while parsing XSL file (Extension function namespace should start with 'http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/'.).
    What kind of namespace I should specify?

    Hello, Paul.
    I'm sure you may not use JavaScript as a language for creating XSLT extention functions with Oracle XDK Parser. This is since parser might have JavaScript interpreter to work with JavaScript, but it has not.
    If you need to build any XSLT extention functions you must build them as Java class' static methods.
    After that, you define the usage of the class by mean of namespace declaration as:
    xmlns:your-ns="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/yourpackage.Yourclass"
    (Prefix "http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/" may differs if you use non-Oracle XML parser)
    and use class' static method in XSLT:
    <xsl:value-of select="your-ns.staticMethodName(paramsIfAny)"/>
    In your case you may wish to use standard Date class:
    xmlns:date="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/java.util.Date"
    <xsl:value-of select="date:toString(date:new)"/>

  • How can i use JAVA BEAN and JSP?

    well, i have developed all my web apps by using pure JSP only, i know this sucks, but i dont know how to start on using beans... what directory should i put them into... etc... what are the good programminmg practices/standards/techniques when incorporating beans in jsp???

    Standards are pretty loose, but generally, Beans hold a lot of the backend logic for your JSP. This can include data validation before entering into the database, database inserts, queries, data manipulation. The JSP should really only contain code that will retrieve the data from the bean and appropriately output it.
    As far as using them, you can use the <jsp:useBean> tag in your JSP. As long as the bean is stored somewhere that your classpath points to, you're all set. From then on, you can use it like any other object in your JSP.

  • How can I use javascript to access netui data-repeater item?

    I have a 2-dim table of <netui: checkbox> using a <netui data-repeater> to interate over a contact email (column) and an event (rows).
              My problem is that I need to have a select all checkbox at the bottom of each column (per email) and be able to select all event for an email (when checked) and deselect all when the checkbox is unchecked.
              I can do it in java page flow but I can't have a page refresh.
              I want to do it on the page with javascript. The problem is that using
              document[getNetuiTagName("aform", this)][getNetuiTagName("email1", this)].checked
              with the "tagId" in each <netui> tag I can't access each iteration of the data repeater (I only get the last one).
              What I need is a reference to each repeater element. I do not know how many rows or columns I will have (based on the data).
              Is there any way to reference the obeject itself in javascript so I can loop through the items in the netui data-repeater?
              This is what is rendered in the html netui mapping:
              netui_names.con1="portlet_2_3wlw-checkbox_key:{actionForm.opts[4].cons[1].selContact}"
              I really want to be able to access this and loop through the arrays for opts (event) and cons(email)

              <netui:form action="submitEvents" tagId="eform" focus="">

  • How  can  I use Javascript code to affect the display of textField?

    Hi All,
    I created a web application using JSF.
    And Placed two controls: one Text Field and one Label.
    On the Javascript onclick event of Label, I wrote the following javascript:
    document.getElementById("form1:textField1").value="test123";
    I run the web application, and click on the label, However, the text of the Text Field does not change.
    But the following code shows text of the Text Field has been changed. it works.
    alert(ocument.getElementById("form1:textField1").value);
    So, why the display of the Text Field does not change? How to update the display of the Text Field?
    Any suggestion will be helpful!
    Thank you.

  • How can i use javascript or php to check if an addon is already installed in my firefox? Thanks!

    I am a coop student for designing websites using drupal, but i cannot figure out a way to solve this problem, can you pro guys help me? thanks

    You can't test if an extension is installed. You can do that for plugins via navigator.plugins

  • How can we  use java variable in javascript code on JSP page?

    How can we use java variable in javascript code on JSP page?
    Pls help

    Think about it:
    JSP/Java is executed on the Server and produces HTML+JavaScript.
    Then that HTML+JavaScript is transfered to the client. The client now interpretes the HTML+JavaScript.
    Obviously there's no way to access a Java variable directly from JavaScript.
    What you can do, however, is write out some JavaScript that creates a JavaScript variable containing the value of your Java variable.

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

  • How can I use multiple row insert or update into DB in JSP?

    Hi all,
    pls help for my question.
    "How can I use multiple rows insert or update into DB in JSP?"
    I mean I will insert or update the multiple records like grid component. All the data I enter will go into the DB.
    With thanks,

    That isn't true. Different SQL databases have
    different capabilities and use different syntax, That's true - every database has its own quirks and extensions. No disagreement there. But they all follow ANSI SQL for CRUD operations. Since the OP said they wanted to do INSERTs and UPDATEs in batches, I assumed that ANSI SQL was sufficient.
    I'd argue that it's best to use ANSI SQL as much as possible, especially if you want your JDBC code to be portable between databases.
    and there are also a lot of different ways of talking to
    SQL databases that are possible in JSP, from using
    plain old java.sql.* in scriptlets to using the
    jstlsql taglib. I've done maintenance on both, and
    they are as different as night and day.Right, because you don't maintain JSP and Java classes the same way. No news there. Both java.sql and JSTL sql taglib are both based on SQL and JDBC. Same difference, except that one uses tags and the other doesn't. Both are Java JDBC code in the end.
    Well, sure. As long as you only want to update rows
    with the same value in column 2. I had the impression
    he wanted to update a whole table. If he only meant
    update all rows with the same value in a given column
    with the same value, that's trivial. All updates do
    that. But as far as I know there's know way to update
    more than one row where the values are different.I used this as an example to demonstrate that it's possible to UPDATE more than one row at a time. If I have 1,000 rows, and each one is a separate UPDATE statement that's unique from all the others, I guess I'd have to write 1,000 UPDATE statements. It's possible to have them all either succeed or fail as a single unit of work. I'm pointing out transaction, because they weren't coming up in the discussion.
    Unless you're using MySQL, for instance. I only have
    experience with MySQL and M$ SQL Server, so I don't
    know what PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and all the
    rest are capable of, but I know for sure that MySQL
    can insert multiple rows while SQL Server can't (or at
    least I've never seen the syntax for doing it if it
    does).Right, but this syntax seems to be specific to MySQL The moment you use it, you're locked into MySQL. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing with ANSI SQL.
    Don't assume that all SQL databases are the same.
    They're not, and it can really screw you up badly if
    you assume you can deploy a project you've developed
    with one database in an environment where you have to
    use a different one. Even different versions of the
    same database can have huge differences. I recommend
    you get a copy of the O'Reilly book, SQL in a
    Nutshell. It covers the most common DBMSes and does a
    good job of pointing out the differences.Yes, I understand that.
    It's funny that you're telling me not to assume that all SQL databases are the same. You're the one who's proposing that the OP use a MySQL-specific extension.
    I haven't looked at the MySQL docs to find out how the syntax you're suggesting works. What if one value set INSERT succeeds and the next one fails? Does MySQL roll back the successful INSERT? Is the unit of work under the JDBC driver's control with autoCommit?
    The OP is free to follow your suggestion. I'm pointing out that there are transactions for units of work and ANSI SQL ways to accomplish the same thing.
